Super cozy atmosphere with the best hosts!

Good but grossly overpriced. Food doesn't justify the price.

We came to the restaurant at prime lunchtime without a reservation and immediately felt warmly welcomed. The menu is varied and versatile. The food that was served around us looked delicious without exception! Unsee meal it was as well. Delicious drinks, healthy and special. Very nice landlady and attentive, friendly service. We have already made a reservation for a next visit.

Fantastic restaurant for the whole family – including furry friends! We recently visited the restaurant at Engelberg and were thrilled! This restaurant is truly a gem for families who value a relaxed and child-friendly atmosphere. We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered and the friendly staff immediately made it clear that both children and pets were welcome here. There is a lovingly furnished play area for the little guests, which our son immediately took over. While we were able to enjoy the delicious food in peace, our son was wonderfully occupied. The menu also offers a large selection of child-friendly dishes that are not only delicious but also healthy - a plus point for all parents who pay attention to a balanced diet. Our dog Karl-Heinz was not forgotten either! The staff immediately offered him a bowl of water. The outdoor area is ideal for four-legged friends - plenty of space and shade ensure that our furry friends also feel completely comfortable. The food was excellent: fresh ingredients, lovingly prepared and something for every taste. Particularly worth mentioning is the friendly and attentive service, which made us feel welcome at all times - regardless of whether we were humans or animals. Conclusion: If you are looking for a place where the whole family, including the dog, feels comfortable, Gaststätte am Engelberg is the right place! We'll definitely be back.

We were there as a larger group for a conference in the next room. By pre-ordering the desired food, mostly various tarte flambées, the delicious food was on the table in no time. Nice service. The ambience and the opportunity to stretch your legs in beautiful surroundings before or after also make you want to come back.

The service is extremely courteous, friendly and fast. A sports hall is and remains a sports hall and is not an interior design highlight, but it is quite comfortable here. Only the acoustics are reverberant and loud. The side salad was lovingly prepared with various ingredients and had a very good dressing. Except for the fact that the spaetzle was obviously not homemade (hence one star less), the food was very well seasoned and tasty. The homemade (organic) dessert was also delicious. In any case, the price/performance ratio is good and a visit is highly recommended. You can tell that every employee enjoys working here. And before or alongside your meal you can take a few steps around the beautiful Engelberg.

Best service in the Leonberg area, food is incredibly tasty, diverse and varied cuisine with changing lunch menu can only be recommended!!! I find it fascinating that the kitchen is open 7 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Very cozy atmosphere with a view over Gerlingen! Good Swabian food, very cozy, nice people, friendly service and even a large, cozy terrace to relax. Children are welcome: they can play table tennis and there is also a football pitch. A trip there is always worth it!

I've eaten there 3 times with friends so far. We were served very friendly and quickly in a pleasant atmosphere. With drinks we spent almost €30 per person. Once the salad was too sour for me. The owners made us feel welcome.

Went there for the first time last week and never again. The schnitzels were still raw inside. When we complained about it, the plates were taken back with a twisted eye. We then got the same schnitzels again, which were simply thrown back into the deep fryer with the cut pieces, which were almost charred, back on the plate. Very disappointing. Regarding her answer: Didn't know that it was relevant that the schnitzel was on the house, which is actually a given after the campaign. But that only happened because I said it was NOT OK. Please don't distort the facts and just be sensible and improve.

We were there with a small group and met here for dinner based on a recommendation. The food is good and reasonably priced. The service is attentive and very friendly, the inside is comfortably furnished and everything still seems relatively new. However, the way the tenant treats guests is a reason for us not to go here anymore. There are much better places in the area!

We were pleased that the restaurant reopened under new management as we live nearby. Yesterday we were there for the first time. The positive first: The service was super friendly and provided great service > 5 stars. The pork cheek with fried potatoes was quite good. But everything else: the pork neck was still bloody inside. We got a new portion, but then we couldn't eat together because otherwise my food would have been cold. The portions were rather manageable. The tzatziki, well. You could eat it. The side salad for €6.40 probably came straight from the fridge and was correspondingly cold and the potato salad tasted terrible. Likewise the baguette served with it. We would have liked to make our honest statement directly on site. But the owners probably weren't interested or didn't even notice. Also a leadership error, if that was the case. Overall, for almost €80 with two wine spritzers, it's pretty excessive. It's a shame, we would have been happy to have a good restaurant near us again. So we go back to the Schillerhöhe. We have never been disappointed so far. To your answer: So many errors at once and for €80. The apology came from the very friendly service. Otherwise nothing happened. In the event of such a disaster, the boss has to appear at the table. Unless he doesn't care :-)

Went to Engelberg for a birthday brunch. Delicious food something for everyone. From meat to vegi to vegan. Super friendly and competent service. Nice beer garden near the observation tower. Gladly again 😊

Mostly there for lunch but it's also in a really nice location if you want to stop off for a walk on the Engelberg. The food always tastes very, very good, the drinks always come quickly, and even if there is an event running at the same time, the food always comes comparatively quickly but never loses quality. The waitresses and owners, both of whom are usually present, are very attentive and friendly and there is just a nice atmosphere whether outside or inside. There is something on the menu for all ages and diets, although in my opinion the typical schnitzels taste best there. The price is totally okay!! Is highly recommended!

We (4) ate schnitzel with fries there a few days ago. Some of the schnitzels were undercooked and smelled sour and tasted accordingly. After our complaint they apologized and brought the schnitzels back into the kitchen and we finished our fries. After about 15 minutes, new schnitzels (without side dishes) were brought to us on a small plate, but unfortunately they weren't any better than the last ones. So to get to the point: Poor meat quality supposedly from the Hess butcher shop in Höfingen but I can't imagine that Mr. Hess delivers something like that. I think I have to ask him personally. I'm only used to top quality from the Hess butcher shop. In my opinion, these are frozen schnitzels because they all had a similar shape and the breadcrumbs also seemed rather artificial in terms of appearance and taste. For us the conclusion remains: once and never again. P.S. As an apology we were only offered an espresso (ridiculous). We actually expected that they would either offer us something different or massively reduce the price. The whole thing has something to do with profit maximization. If I have to pay €17.80 for a schnitzel with fries (without a side salad), then I expect correspondingly good quality.

I always enjoy coming to Engelberg, to this great restaurant. We were warmly welcomed. The meal, salmon fillet with leaf spinach and long grain rice in a lime sauce, was very well cooked and tasted delicious. The ox cheeks were also very well cooked and extremely tasty. It was also seen when the drink was empty and the service was very friendly.

Super friendly service and very tasty food. We had a side salad, Ochsenbäckle and the Maultaschen, everything was so fresh and delicious. The children's schnitzel came a little earlier as requested :-) because the little one was hungry. We were able to pass the time by playing and painting, finally a restaurant that is family-oriented 👍🏻 we will definitely be back! In summer you can sit on the beautiful outdoor terrace. The conditions were also extremely friendly and accommodating.

Just disappointment. Schnitzel fan, horror since today. Breadcrumbs raw, shaped meat 3mm?dry and bland. Lt. Cook like pan fried????? Wow. Despite many good reviews, never again.

We had our birthday party in January with over 60 guests in the restaurant. The location is ideal for this. The food from the buffet tasted very good and was plentiful. The whole team was very friendly and attentive, all wishes were fulfilled. We had a very nice and unforgettable evening. A big thank you goes to Marie and her entire team at the Engelberg restaurant. Went to the restaurant for lunch today with my family. We were served very friendly. For the children, special children's meals were offered outside the menu. The daily meal was very tasty and creative. We were very satisfied and would like to come back.

The food is consistently very tasty and there is enough, even if you have walked up the Engelberg Enjoy the view with a coffee at the end, or celebrate on the bus in the evening. It is worth it .. Wir hatten kurzfristig reserviert, war gar kein Problem. Modernes Ambiente, freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Zum Essen gab es Schnitzel mit Pommes und Linsen mit Spätzle, war sehr lecker, kann man ruhigen Gewissens weiterempfehlen!!!

Wir waren mit 11 Personen zu einer Feierlichkeit essen. Sehr angenehme Umgebung, freundliche und sehr aufmerksame Bedienung. Das Essen kam auf den Punkt für alle (à la Carte) und war heiß. Geschmacklich war es sehr gut und seinen Preis wert. Alle waren zufrieden. Auch die Weinkarte ist gut ausgesucht. Wir werden wiederkommen. P.s. wir waren kürzlich nachmittags bei warmem Wetter dort und sind sehr schön im Garten gesessen. War auch echt gut!

War mit Freunden auf einen Spieleabend im Engelberg verabredet und wir hatten einen wundervollen Abend bei Siedler und bester Verköstigung - das Bier schmeckte prima, das Gulasch und der Himbeergeist waren leckerst!

Sehr leckeres schwäbisches Essen! Wir haben Zwiebelrostbraten und Maultaschen mit Kartoffelsalat gegessen. Der Service war top - sehr aufmerksam! Es gibt sogar ein Regal mit vielen Spielen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ich war gestern am 21.9 2023 mit einer Seniorenwandergruppe zum Mittagessen in der Gaststätte Engelberg. Wir waren mit dem Essen und den Getränken sehr zufrieden. Es hat wunderbar geschmeckt und so konnten wir unsere Wanderung gut gestärkt fortsetzen. Die Note sehr gut bekommt der Service Frau . . . . Alles hat rundum sehr toll geklappt. Ich werde euch gerne weiterempfehlen und bestimmt kommen wir auf einer unserer nächsten Wanderung bei Ihnen wieder vorbei. Vielen ❤️ lichen Dank für alles!!!

Ich hatte das Geschnetzelte vom Rind und Qualität und Geschmack waren Einwandfrei!!! Einziges Manko fand ich die Portions Größe! Wenn ich 25€ für ein Hauptgericht ausgebe (ich bin gerne bereit für gute Qualität zu bezahlen und verstehe auch das es momentan in der Gastronomie kein Zucker schlecken ist) erwarte ich eine Portion die mich nicht zwingt im Anschluss nochmal etwas anderes zu bestellen 😐 5 Fleisch bröckchen und 4 Schwammerl sind bei dem Preis nicht angemessen. Hätte ich fast vergessen, es wurde ein Kartoffel Rösti als Beilage gereicht das geschmacklich auch sehr gut geschmeckt hat.

Spätzle sehr sehr lecker 😋 noch bisschen mehr Sosse dann wäre es topp (schwaben halt) Mit Kinder sehr zu empfehlen. Jetzt muss ich doch noch mal nachkorrigieren,hatte beim 2. Besuch Kalbsrahmgulasch bestellt,war sehr lecker keine Frage aber für diesen stolzen Preis gerade mal fünf kleine Stücke Fleisch und zwei kleine Pilzchen(ja man konnte es zählen)das ist dann doch etwas mager. Ungesättigt nach Hause zu gehen kann dann doch nicht der Sinn sein. Kalb ist teuer das weiß ich aber das war dann doch sehr knausrig!So vergrault man Kunden die auch mal mehr für ein Essen bezahlen und dann eben nicht mehr kommen.

Super schöne Lage, fühlt sich an wie Kurzurlaub hier oben am Engelberg :) Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal und beim Essen gab es nichts auszusetzen, gute Portionen und mega lecker..

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Gaststätte am Engelberg! Das Gesamtpaket hat gestimmt. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Getränke sehr erfrischend und der Service schnell.. gerne wieder!

Leider konnte ich mein Seniorenschnitzel kaum auf dem Teller finden. Hauchdünn, klein und nicht richtig gebraten aber die Pommes waren gut.
