The food was super delicious. The portion sizes were more than sufficient for me, and if you still want something, there are also small warm snacks, which are highly recommended. The service was friendly and quick, even though the place was packed.

Very nice and authentic Mexican

The music is much too loud. It's difficult to have conversations at the table. The server is a bit sloppy. Drinks came relatively quickly - for food, we had to ask the bar if they were even serving at almost 5 p.m., as no one came to take our orders. The food itself was good, but a bit small for my taste. The price is also a bit too high for the portion sizes. I find it a bit outrageous that ketchup/mayo costs €2 with a side dish (fries, for example). I can get 500ml of ketchup/mayo everywhere for €2. I think €0.50 is reasonable and fair. Other guests sometimes waited 20 minutes or more for drinks. The server was generally very nice and cheerful, but I prefer a server who was less cheerful but more focused on his guests. First of all - the place was practically empty when we were there. This means that an excessive influx of customers isn't to blame.

The portion sizes are truly disappointing. Unless you're getting fachitas or something similar, the tacos, in particular, are tiny. Especially for the price. You can go here for a drink, especially during happy hour, but you can't go here for a meal anymore. The waitresses are nice, but they're completely understaffed, but that's the case everywhere. When it comes to the food, apart from the fachitas, the value for money is absolutely terrible. You can tell that everything was bought in, and the portion sizes are really bad.

The food was absolutely delicious. There were several vegan options, which we really enjoyed (the tacos are highly recommended). The cocktail selection is also good, and if you're up for it, you can even roll the dice to win the price of a cocktail on select days. It's a pleasant place to sit both inside and out, and the interior is lovingly designed. The music, however, was quite loud at times.

Came with a group for food & drinks for first time, on Sunday 27.07. at 20:50. We did not know the kitchen closes at 21:00, and were busy so unfortunately could not come earlier. So the situation was not ideal, but it happens, and asking us to order quickly is totally fine. What is not fine however, is for the waiter to make a passive agressive comment "The chef is really gonna like it that so many of you came to order so late." And then proceed to make 2 more comments like that in a snarky tone. You can be nice & professional and say "Hey, we are excited to have you here, but kitchen is almost closed, this & this dish is the easiest for the chef to make, which means you will also get it fast." We are more than happy to cooperate, we did not come to make you miserable. Or have a seperate "last seating to order food" and "kitchen closing" times. Working a Sunday evening shift is difficult, I get that, but just because the waiter is unhappy, there was no need to try to make us unhappy as well. But mission accomplished on his part, my experience of your concept was ruined. On the bright note, my bowl was tasty and the kiwi lemonade is super refreshing :)

A very disappointing experience on July 26th at midnight, primarily due to the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of a particular waiter with dyed blonde hair. The four of us arrived at the restaurant and ordered our drinks around midnight. My friend ordered a non-alcoholic mojito with mint, soda, and lemon, nothing else, as she has a severe allergy to certain fruits, which are also listed on the drinks menu for the mojito. She explained this clearly. The waiter, who was distracted while ordering and even sang, still brought her a peach mojito. She noticed it immediately, had an allergic reaction, and had to run to her car to take her emergency medication. When we explained what had happened, instead of responding with understanding or an apology, he started defending himself. He claimed he'd understood everything correctly and even said he'd never had any problems with customers, as if we were the problem. This way of shifting the blame onto us was completely inappropriate. I've worked in the restaurant industry for many years and don't usually write reviews because I know exactly how stressful this job can be. There are good days and bad days, I understand that. But when you're a guest being yelled at, having to justify yourself, and not even a simple "sorry" is forthcoming, then a line has been crossed. In the end, the waiter even left the card payment device on our table, even though we pointed it out to him. It just stayed there until we left. The man's mind was elsewhere, completely out of it. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially when a guest's health is at stake. I really hope the restaurant owner takes this seriously and responds accordingly.

Not recommended. The service was lackluster, the frozen Margherita was pure sugar water, and the tacos were squashed. Never again.

If you want Mexican food, you should go somewhere else! The food, in my case a burrito with ground beef, was a rice swirl to say the least... it was almost just rice with 3 beans and 6 crumbs of ground beef in a hard and chewy tortilla. The rice stuck together more than at an Asian restaurant. It was a mess, totally bland and far from Mexican. My companion had a vegetarian quesadilla, a few chopped vegetables and placed in a colored tortilla, with 3 shavings of cheese on top, and that was it. Truly a very poor performance! I can't recommend anyone go here, and I won't be going there again either!

We spent a lovely evening at Enchilada, enjoying delicious cocktails. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and looked after us well throughout the evening. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and lively—just the right thing to unwind after a long day. The music was pleasant, not too loud, so it was easy to have a conversation. We also really enjoyed the stylish, Mexican-inspired ambiance. The creative cocktails are particularly noteworthy; they not only tasted great but were also beautifully presented. The value for money during happy hour was truly excellent—high-quality drinks at fair prices. All in all, it was a thoroughly successful evening, and we would gladly repeat it.

Very friendly and helpful staff, who gave us good recommendations in response to our questions. The allergen list is fabulous. The food tastes delicious. Very suitable for those with celiac disease.

I've been there twice already and can only say that it was simply delicious. From the delicious appetizers to the desserts and cocktails, everything was more than good. I think it was also very cozy for Karlsruhe's city center. We sat outside both times. We haven't been inside yet. The only thing I deduct is that the price is generally a bit high (but it was/is worth it for me given the good quality and taste of the food). The service unfortunately gets a slight deduction, as you had to wait a relatively long time to be served or for the food to arrive at your table. Friendliness and helpful tips are a 10/10 for me. And last but not least, one dessert seemed extremely like a convenience product to me, which is a bit difficult to justify given the price. All in all, I was more than satisfied. I definitely recommend trying it out and seeing for yourself.

Re: Premium Pepsi with shrink function? Dear Enchilada team, Congratulations - I was able to enjoy what was probably the most exclusive Pepsi of my life with you: €4.90 for what was supposed to be 0.4l, but was actually served in a glass that looked suspiciously like 0.33l. A real experience! Apparently you either have access to quantum mechanical drinks or are pursuing a secret Pepsi shortage program - very innovative! But that's not all: the burger? Definitely frozen goods – the taste is as exciting as toast without any toppings. The espresso martini? Served in everything but a martini glass - maybe that's the new trend, who knows. The beer? Of course, not fully poured – a pattern emerges. And my cocktail Touch Down arrived 10 minutes later than the rest of the cocktails - even though we ordered them at the same time. Maybe it had to be imported first? If this was all a misunderstanding, I would be happy to clarify. If not: Hats off - I have rarely been so consistently disappointed in so many details. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. The prices are too high for what you get. El Taquito is definitely the better choice if you want Mexican food. Update 2 years later: unfortunately nothing has changed. The prices are even higher and I'm still looking for the quality. I'm shocked. Supermarket nachos and wrap. It doesn't taste good and then almost 16 euros for it... definitely my last visit here

The service was great, very organized and no long waiting times (drinks at the table within 5 minutes). The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. The ambience was nice, but a bit dark and with red light and the music was very loud after 10 p.m., which meant you couldn't have as much conversation as before. In the end it didn't bother me much. We'll definitely be back!

The food was really tasty and it was nice to sit there, but I find it questionable when you go to the toilet and see a kitchen worker leave the room without washing their hands.

Food is good, but some waiters are probably either blind, deaf or forgetful. There is no other way I can sympathetically explain the behavior with which guests are ignored. But usually it tastes good if you didn't have to wait 2 hours (!) and get cold food because the waiter forgot to bring it to the table.

The service was very good, and the ambience is very nice. I had the 'coconut kiss' to drink and would definitely recommend it. Dips with the nachos were also very tasty. I especially liked the salsa and chipotle.

The food came after over an hour and only after we asked the waitress that we had been waiting for almost an hour. When the food arrived it was stale and soggy and the taste was mediocre. We had to ask the same waiter 3 times to pay because after asking twice he simply forgot each time.

A simple and average restaurant. Food is OK so far. Personally I think it's a bit overpriced, but everyone can make up their own mind. The motivation of the staff is something we can still work on.

The location is great. Unfortunately the food is rather mediocre. Not more than that. The cocktails are apparently from the machine. Unfortunately it's a shame given the prices. One of the cellars also shot the bird. Took an order incorrectly and then tried to explain to me that as a customer you should make sure that the waiter takes the order correctly. We will leave our money in other locations in the future.

The Enchi has once again reinvented itself, the Tornado Taco Tower (8 tacos, 2 dips 25€) was a poem, each one was so delicious regardless of whether it was with meat or vegetarian; the mex-presso-tini is also recommended! Service was quick and super friendly!

The food is good but the portions are so small that it would easily fill up a smurf and the prices are far too expensive hence only two stars. PS there are no prices on the menu which is a money trap

After 10-15 years, I returned to Enchilada with fond memories. Everything has changed. Too bad. I ordered a burrito – with meat. The mixture was stretched with beans, quinoa, and rice. The flatbread was so hard I couldn't cut it. The bottom line: I was hungry for the first time after visiting a Mexican restaurant. I'm very disappointed; it was my last time. Unfortunately.

Had something to eat there on Saturday. The service was great, unfortunately the food wasn't. The burrito was hard to cut, the bottom side was so hard. There were also no side dishes like guacamole or salsa. There was rice in the burrito and only a small amount of meat. Unfortunately there was also something missing in terms of taste. A centrally located Mexican restaurant that seems to have been around forever. People don't come here for the food, because it's relatively tasteless, but rather for the wide selection of cocktails. The prices are relatively high, so it's only worth going during happy hour. The place gets completely packed during that time, and you might even have to wait 30 minutes for a server. The music is usually played so loudly that you have to shout, like at a concert, to communicate with the person talking. Due to the location and the long opening hours, going here is often the only viable option.

Enchilada in Karlsruhe is generally a very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and delicious food. The menu offers a diverse selection of Mexican dishes that taste really good. The fajitas in particular are a highlight and highly recommended! The drinks selection is also appealing, although I did notice that some of the cocktails, especially the jumbo cocktails, were a bit too thin and lacked intensity. The staff at Enchilada are consistently friendly, courteous, and very committed to ensuring guests have a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the restaurant is chronically understaffed, which has a significant impact on service. We sat for almost 15 minutes before we could order our drinks, and after 1.5 hours, we were finally able to order our food. It then took another 40 minutes to complete, which was simply too long overall. It was clear that despite their best efforts—the employees were sometimes running around—the team simply couldn't keep up. Despite the long wait times and understaffing, the visit to Enchilada was generally positive. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect, and the staff was very friendly despite the difficult situation. I hope the staffing situation improves in the future, because then Enchilada would definitely be a top restaurant in Karlsruhe!

Unfortunately not recommended on several levels. The portions are significantly smaller than listed on the menu and the prices are high. A homemade iced tea costs €7.50 here and consists almost entirely of ice cubes. The food wasn't bad, but every dish was missing that certain something and definitely salt and spices. Even the dips, like “spicy mayo” or sour cream, were very watery. In addition, the operation unfortunately made a lot of mistakes. After taking the order, she came to the table again and asked what we had ordered and when we paid, she accounted for dishes that we had not ordered. If I hadn't noticed that the total amount was too high, I would have paid for food that we didn't eat.

Great place. It was busy, but we were well looked after. It's worth mentioning that there were plenty of staff on site; they do a lot of things right here. The price/performance ratio is also reasonable, and you can't go wrong with the happy hour drinks.

We were there on New Year's Eve. Very friendly service, but unfortunately, the food was all rather poor. Relatively tasteless and mushy. The flour tortillas tasted quite stale, and the contents were supposed to be varied, with chicken, meat, and chimichurri, but unfortunately, it was all the same old stuff. There was no hint of spice. The fries were barely crispy. But the cocktails, even the non-alcoholic ones, were very good. Overall, I'd recommend them as a drink rather than a meal.

The second time in this establishment, the first time everything was good, service, etc. and this was despite the fact that it was a weekday. But the second time it was something, we were with a group on Sunday, this is despite the fact that I know from the employees that on this day there are always few customers, but not this time, the orders were brought out catastrophically slowly, this is despite the fact that these were cocktails at first. Different waiters brought out the orders, then they did not pass on the order to the waiter whose table it was, they tried to order for half an hour. The food is generally disgusting, it is impossible to eat, it was a bowl, I thought they could not spoil them, but in Enchilada they can. The only thing that was good on this visit was the waiter who served us, Brian, he tried to smooth over this horror.

Terrible service We were split between two tables even though we had reserved the right number. The service was slow, if not nonexistent. We had to get up to remind them about the orders. The food was cold. Honestly, what's the point of having a waiter if they don't clear the tables? Avoid it during the Christmas season, it seems. A restaurant is meant to be served at the table, right? Or else they need to change their business!

We were there for dinner with a larger group. The food was served hot and delicious. The service was excellent. Our waitress, Saskia, guided us perfectly through the evening.

We had previously been rudely attacked by the staff at the “schwarzer Kater” and spontaneously moved here. It was better, not so loud, friendly and attentive service, and we got nice seats. This is the right way! Next time we'll go straight there.

The decor, bar, etc., looks very nice, and I can't say anything negative about the look... however, the prices are far too high for the portions and taste. I have to be honest, the food didn't taste good at all, so it was really awful. If you want to go for a nice drink, you can do it here, but I wouldn't recommend eating in.

Enchilada has a very nice Mexican-style atmosphere. It has five seating areas. The Mexican food is great. You can eat here or have a cocktail with some clever snacks. The food is really good, and the cocktails are pretty good too. I had the Frozen Kiwi Spice. As the word "spice" suggests, the cocktail was spicy. Since I have a trained palate, I really enjoyed the spiciness.

Charging exactly €9 for a ridiculous 0.5 glass of Tempranillo is outrageous. The prices on the menu are exceptionally small. I thought it was a 4. I actually wanted to eat something else in this restaurant, but the extremely high prices served to the neighboring tables reminded me very much of convenience and chain restaurants. I'd rather eat at restaurants that are fighting for gastronomic recognition for that kind of money. I told the poor waitress to tell her boss that these prices are outrageous and that I won't be setting foot in that place again. By the way, there is a price information regulation that the owners should take to heart. Price information the size of footnotes might be illegal. Sincerely, I'm never going there again.

Over 1 hour to bring me a drink. The waiters, who I don't blame, came and asked me more than 3 times what I ordered. By the time I brought them, it was so late that I had to make light of the drink because they were about to close. They brought me the drink, charged me and cleaned up right after to close so I couldn't even take the cup. I understand there were a lot of people and it may take a while to serve you, but it is not acceptable to wait longer than an hour while the rest of the table got their drink. The worst thing is that it's not the first time. More than 1 hour for me to carry a drink. Los camareros have no culpo, winieron a preguntarme más de 3 veces that are lo que había pedido. Ya cuando me la trajeron, once tan tarde que me tuve que tomar a la ligera la bebida porque ya querían cerrar. Me trajeron la drink, me cobraron y justo después se pusieron a limpiar para cerrar, así que no pude ni tomarme la copa a gusto. Entiendo que había mucha gente y que pueda tardar a poco en servirte, pero no es acceptable más de una hora de espera, mientras el resto de la mesa recibía su bebida. Lo peor es que no es la primera vez.
