The Emessa Lokma Restaurant is an absolute insider tip for Syrian specialties! I tried the Emessa Shawarma plate and Manakish there, and both were just incredibly delicious. The shawarma plate was perfect: tender, spicy meat, fresh side dishes and wonderfully aromatic sauces. The Manakish were also a highlight – freshly baked, with a fluffy dough and a wonderfully spicy topping. You can taste the quality and attention to detail in every bite. For anyone looking for authentic Syrian cuisine, Emessa Lokma Restaurant is a must. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I wanted to try something new. Although I have to admit, the restaurant has been around for a few years and it wasn't on my radar. Today I was there with friends and I know that it won't be the last time. We like to try something “new” and that includes a different cuisine. We've never had Syrian before and haven't had a real idea, other than that it will be oriental in the broadest sense. So I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and clear. Small and fine menu with various delicacies. Plus generous portions at a great price. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. This is an advantage for some dishes if you don't spend much time in the kitchen. Of course we use different ingredients than we are used to here, but I found everything very tasty. Plus a Syrian one!? Tried beer which was also very tasty. As already mentioned at the beginning - we will come back and gladly.

Delicious food, nice staff, good portions

The food here is really good and varied! Extra requests are never a problem and you are always (positively!) surprised. We have been coming for lunch with several colleagues at least once a week for years - that speaks for itself.

Despite the fact that we ate dinner quite late, we were served very friendly. The food was fresh and delicious! The yellow rice, the chicken skewers, the hummus with parsley and tomatoes, the salad, the crispy falafels! And last but not least, we really enjoyed the delicious lentil soup with the crispy thin piece of bread (a kind of croutons)! Thank you very much! We will definitely come back!

Unfortunately, the amount of food served is small. The food was as if it were being prepared, the salad was just a garnish, and the meat was in a bowl. We went to dinner, our souls were hungry. There was oil and thyme at home. The price was raised and an amount was offered that matched the price. Unfortunately, we were customers, but apparently Awad would not return it again.

Every dish is delicious, everything is freshly prepared, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Anyone who has ever been to Syria or Palestine knows what Arabic cuisine from the room must taste like and Emessa surpasses that, for me the food tastes like home. I couldn't be happier. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Emessa, and it turned out to be a delightful experience that I feel compelled to share. Upon entering, the language barrier with the waiter added an element of excitement as we navigated through the menu. Despite the communication challenge, we took a leap of faith and asked for recommendations. The waiter confidently assured us that everything on the menu was top-notch, setting high expectations for our lunch. To our delight, the dishes exceeded those expectations. The hummus was velvety, the kebabs were diverse and succulent, accompanied by a fresh salad and perfectly cooked rice. The serving size was generous, making the 23 euros per head well worth it. What stood out most was the unexpected burst of flavor in the pommies, carrying a subtle yet delightful chicken essence, a rarity that added a unique twist to the meal.
