The location has such a good reputation in the area that even people on the tour of Bentheim Castle knew what was being talked about was called “Lokal am See”. We then went there and it was very tasty and really nice. When the weather is good, you can sit right by the lake and enjoy your coffee. Fast service and stylish interior with great dishes, what more could you want!

The staff is friendly, attentive and fulfills special requests with a smile. The location right on the lake creates a relaxed atmosphere - large windows offer a wonderful view of the water, and in summer you can even sit outside on the terrace. Everything looks very neat and stylish without being intrusive. The price-performance ratio is great: you're happy to pay for the extensive buffet and the great service. A perfect place to start the day with pleasure or to dine in a cozy atmosphere. Absolutely recommended – we would love to come back!

We were there for brunch on Saturday. The service was very nice and hardworking. The food was rich and delicious. We particularly liked that the buffet was set up on two sides, so you didn't have to wait in line for so long. Coffee, juices and water as much as you want. Various types of bread and rolls, sausage, cheese, fish, eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, muesli, fruit, hummus, quark, sweet spreads, etc. There were several dog owners there and the seating was chosen so that the dogs were all separated from each other. I don't know whether it was intentional or accidental, but this meant we could have breakfast with our dog in a relaxed manner and not have to pay attention to other dogs. Water bowls for the dogs would be nice.

Price performance rather uneven had a burger but it tasted normal so nothing special but getting 15 euros for that is a lot, especially since the burger was normal size. But the waiters were very friendly.

For many years it has been a favorite place for good food with a wonderful lakeside backdrop. The food is always of top quality, fresh, beautifully decorated and large. The setting is a delight inside and out - always special in summer and winter - and I find it clean and tidy here. The service team has to be praised - they are fast, friendly and professional! It's just a shame that you can reserve the tables inside, but unfortunately not the ones outside, although the tables on the terrace are so popular on good weather days that you would need a reservation to be sure of a table.

The restaurant is absolutely recommended. We were there in the morning for breakfast+. The selection is plentiful and good. Later, warm food was served but unfortunately we were already full😊. We'll just go back and next time we'll try the warm dishes too. Afterwards you can take a great walk around the lake.

I was there on Saturday evening and we had a big dog with us. The waitress immediately sat us down at a quiet table and took away a chair so that the dog had room. Great service throughout the rest of the evening, delicious food. Everything seemed clean and tidy. I would come again, even if I have a long journey. It's worth it!

We were there on Saturday evening. The service is really good and the view too. But there I attach less importance to it when I eat something. The food came relatively quickly and it tasted just as good. The starters didn't live up to their price. But you could still squint your eyes. However, offering a 300g burger in which the meat, and not even the bun, is completely covered on the inside is sad in my opinion. I thought the price of €20 was pretty bold without offering fries. We personally didn't like the crème brulee dessert at all.

We did a lap around the lake and through Schüttorf and at the end we were here on the beautiful terrace. The whole restaurant is beautifully designed, with lots of seating inside and outside. Attentive and quick service. Large selection of small and large dishes. We shared a pinsa, which was really great, as was the rosé. We'll definitely go here again!

This restaurant is located directly on a beautiful lake with parking right in front. There's a playground for children, and in the summer, you can swim in the lake. But we were invited to brunch. A casual kind of fancy restaurant. We came for breakfast on our last morning in Germany and we're very pleased! It was a buffet style with many options. I wish we had a restaurant like this in Virginia! The waitresses are kind and know enough English to help us understand how the restaurant worked. Mega, I've rarely had such a good tuna salad. I can definitely recommend the “Elsedip” for bread, fries and the like. For dessert there was hazelnut ice cream with caramel. The service was super nice and drinks and food came very quickly. I'll definitely come back again in the summer.

When making the reservation or upon arrival it was not pointed out that the table had already been reserved again after 2.5 hours. You can't spend a nice evening like that. The food is purely system gastronomy and is designed only for Provit. We weren't asked for our order until 20 minutes after we arrived. Unfortunately, another disappointing evening at this location. A pure money printing machine. If I could give 0 stars I would. Tasteless rip-off. The two stars for the ambience are only given for the location on the lake.

There were three of us there with a friend who only wanted a children's plate for health reasons and didn't get it because she is older than 10 years old. We went to eat at Else's today for Valentine's Day 2025 - unfortunately we were not at all satisfied with the choice of food. Why do I make an age-restricted menu for kids? Our daughter is not a big eater and we would have liked to just order fries and nuggets for her. That wouldn't work because she's 11 years old. (Can be ordered up to 10 years). Why the hell am I doing this? The end of the song was that she ate fries with my wife. She didn't find anything on the rest of the map. Well, it's a shame - a restaurant with such a sophisticated ambience is completely ruined by such nonsense. Oh well - statement from the service person - the boss would have determined it that way and there's nothing that can be done about it - ridiculous

The first impression was great, we were quickly and friendly brought to a table - with a view of the lake (admittedly it was a table for 6 people...) which had previously only been occupied by two people. The place was really full and getting even more crowded! A short time later another waitress came and explained to us that she needed the table for a group of 5 people and that between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. you couldn't reserve a table, but the group had reserved exactly that table - I understand I don't (of course, 5 guests make more sales than 2 guests). Then we were told that we could look for another table, but in my opinion that didn't exist. Impossible!!!! The first impression was really great, but the second one backfired!

When we arrived we were told that they couldn't reach me by phone because the table was only reserved for 2 hours. First of all, I never got a call or an email or anything like that. Secondly, I booked the table for Christmas back in October! Absolute impudence!!! And if you have to wait over an hour for your food, you can't tell the customers that you have to clear the table after 2 hours. The response to special requests when ordering was also extremely inflexible. For example, it was not possible to cancel the side dish (fries) from a CHILDREN'S MEAL. The waiter's statement: That's not possible, the price still remains the same! We were really annoyed and will definitely not go here again on Christmas Day and definitely won't recommend it to anyone!
