Eléa in Detmold

The drinks were at the table very quickly, as were the starters. These were delicious and we were looking forward to the main courses. Unfortunately, these weren't to our taste at all. We've often eaten Greek food and I work in the catering industry myself, but the fried potato slices, which appeared to be gratinated with mayonnaise, were absolutely not worth the money. We only ate half of the meat platters because the minced steaks unfortunately had a musty aftertaste and were very over-seasoned. So I wanted to pay with the card, but unfortunately it wasn't possible and I had to scrape together the last of my cash... the tip was correspondingly small. It was worth a try, but it will probably be our last visit.

I visited today at lunchtime and I have to say that the lunchtime nephew was far too tasty and the staff were very friendly

We happened to pass by on a Sunday evening and stopped in. There were 6 of us and we wanted to eat when suddenly a guy ran deafeningly through the restaurant like a madman with a drum. Some danced a southern wedding or birthday dance. People no longer understood their own words: bad! We hadn't ordered yet and were still able to look further afield. The other guests who had already had their food did not. Too bad. One less restaurant for us

Very bad service that I would never wish for a second visit. One waitress is probably the former owner of Café “Elbing”. I was here with two of my closest friends and everything was served wrong and we were told - “just eat”. In the end they wanted to have the leftovers packed up and for the second time she said satirically “oh, pack them up now?!”. What kind of sloppiness is this? You go to the restaurant to pay for your food and whoever gets paid has to serve politely.

The food was okay. Nothing special in terms of taste. Solid, edible. The ambiance is okay. Not a replica of a miniature Athens. Unfortunately, the service was abysmal. We were forgotten, which can happen. We were friendly nonetheless. When, after 90 minutes, the appetizer (olives and vine leaves) still hadn't arrived, I politely asked if we could at least have the starters. They arrived promptly, but only with the comment, "It took a bit longer." When the food arrived, they simply said they were understaffed. No apology, no friendliness... Nothing... They cater to tourists. They won't be back anyway. Neither will we. I can't recommend this place. This isn't how you treat guests. Even a small apology could have saved the situation. Oh well, small-town hicks...

NEVER AGAIN! On 17.0325 we were traveling with 6 people and were looking for a restaurant to get something tasty on Sunday. We tried our luck at Elea and were assigned a place. As we studied the map we started! A wedding or birthday was celebrated in the restaurant. Not as a happy celebration? NO!!!!!!! A guest was beating on a huge drum like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ears deafening!!!!!! We hadn't ordered yet. But you could see from the faces of the other guests that they were completely unnerved. So we took off again. Who does something like that? Mr. Wirt: look for another job!!!!. Thanks for nothing: never again, sorry

Visited today. Very friendly service. The food was authentic Greek. The flatbread for the tzatzki was amazing, warm and well seasoned. There was plenty on the plate so that you were more than full. Salad generously and even with sheep's cheese. Top we'll be back.👍👍👍

Disappointing experience – not recommended! Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the ELEA restaurant in Detmold at all. Our visit was disappointing from start to finish. As soon as we entered we were greeted quite unfriendly - no smile, no friendly greeting. The service was generally very inattentive and seemed annoyed. Orders were taken incorrectly and even though we specifically ordered a sauce to go with it, we had to ask to get it. Unfortunately, the food itself was equally disappointing. The tzatziki was completely overloaded with garlic - so extreme that it was simply inedible. The meat was tough in many places and difficult to chew. The “Cretan potatoes” only tasted like mayonnaise – none of the Mediterranean flavors I was hoping for. The gratinated gyros, which had almost no Metaxa sauce, was particularly disappointing. The ouzo also tasted cheap and not very aromatic. Another big annoyance was the payment option. It is advertised on the door and on Google that card payments are possible - but that is not the case! An absolute no-go if you rely on it. Last but not least, the acoustics in the restaurant were uncomfortably loud, making it difficult to have a normal conversation. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and we definitely won't be returning. What a pity about the evening!

If Greek, then here... Juicy, tender meat with a good, spicy taste. Nice, courteous service and great ambience. Definitely recommended!!!!

There is nothing to complain about with this Greek. Nicely decorated, delicious food and attentive staff. We were there on a Saturday lunchtime and there was very little going on. That's why the food came almost without waiting. So everything was fine with us, so you can come back. Price-performance fits.

We had a great lunch at Eléa. The four of us ordered a grill platter and it was so delicious and there was more than enough food. The meat was really tasty, there was also salad, tzatziki and a side dish (we had tomato rice). The service was excellent and very personable and the restaurant itself looks modern and cozy. We'd love to come back!

I ordered vegetarian No. 1 there on Friday evening. According to the menu with fries and salad, which was later denied. So, despite asking, I only got the sheep's cheese without fries and salad for a hefty price of 13.50. Sorry, never again.

Went for lunch. The portions were big enough to fill you up well. Everything was delicious and the price was unbeatable.

We took a tour to Detmold and were hungry, so we chose DasElea. It was 1 p.m. and at first we were ignored. When we finally ordered, the drinks arrived after 10 minutes, then nothing happened. I have to say that it wasn't full!!! After exactly 46 minutes the waiter came to tell us that they didn't have any Giros anymore, but we could order something else... sure and when will that come or the announcement that it's probably over too... We paid for our drinks and left. This is what service looks like?!

The quality of the food was great, but for the price it could have been a little more. During the entire stay, the waitress didn't ask if you wanted something new to drink or if everything was okay. In addition, audible and visual requests to come to the table were missed several times. Two glasses of ouzo per person were served free of charge just before the end of the stay.

The food is what Germans understand as Greek and very good. The charred meat had a slight burnt whiff on it but incredibly juicy. The size of the meal was quite big. The service was friendly but the atmosphere was sadly a bit lacking.

For me, this great Greek restaurant is one of the best in the entire Detmold area. The food is of exceptional quality, it is delicious, fresh and absolutely top quality. The restaurant is very comfortably furnished and the staff is very nice and accommodating. I write a lot of reviews here for restaurants but this one is absolutely top. We will 1000% come back and can absolutely recommend Elea. We wish the team all the best and look forward to the next visit.

One of the few Greeks in downtown Detmold. The food is good and inexpensive. The service is very nice and accommodating, even if there is a lot to do on the weekend, time is still given for the customer. The restaurant is simply furnished but spacious. You can also spend time here comfortably with larger groups. I always enjoy coming back.

We stopped here yesterday on our way through and were extremely satisfied. The service intervals were optimally timed and the quality of the food and the portions offered exactly the right amount of value for money. The dishes are freshly prepared and are extremely tasty. The Metaxa sauce in particular is an absolute highlight and really deserves its name. We will definitely come back next time we are in Detmold. Thank you for an all-round successful experience."

Nachdem eine anderes Restaurant in Detmold unsere Reservierung verbaselt hatte konnte man uns hier im Elea ohne Reservierung einen Platz anbieten. Eigentlich sehr überraschend, denn im Elea kann man wirklich hervorragend speisen. Wir waren wirklich mehr als positiv überrascht! Der Service war sehr gut, freundliche und schnell. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend, wir kommen wieder. P.S.: Die Elea-Platte ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Zu erst: Es war Recht voll und wir haben spontan einen der letzten Tische bekommen. Das Ambiente ist gut, alles ein wenig sehr offen in einem großen Raum, aber Ansich gemütlich gestaltet mit schöner Bar und leiser Hintergrundmusik. Das wichtigste: Das Essen hat uns sehr sehr gut geschmeckt. Leider kam unsere Vorspeise erst zum Hauptgericht und eine Beilage wurde vertauscht. Auch die Getränke kamen sehr spät auf den Tisch. Aber ich schiebe das jetzt einfach mal auf den Umstand, dass es picke packe voll war. Denn das Essen, die Getränke und auch die Freundlichkeit waren sehr gut. Das nächste Mal, nach der Weihnachtszeit 😉✌️

Sehr leckeres Essen, toller Service von hübschen Damen. Sehr schnell geliefert. Das Ambiente ist modern, allerdings durch die geringe Größe stark eingeschränkt. Manche Gastgruppen sind viel zu laut. Man wünscht sich einen abgetrennt Bereich.

Wir haben heute sehr lecker dort gegessen. Die Mittagskarte ist günstig. Für 12,90€ bekommt man einen kleinen Salat und Fleisch nach Wahl + Pommes o. Reis und Zaziki. Die Qualität ist sehr gut. Dass man nur bar bezahlen kann ist eine Einschränkung aber wenn der Rest passt ist es ok. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Leider war der Salat ein Witz und in Essig getrenkt. Mousakka war viel Öl und nicht gewürzt. Da kann ich selber besser kochen und kann es nicht gut 😂. Noch nie so schlecht gegessen.

Das Essen war gut, jedoch für meinem Geschmack zu salzig. Wir haben eine Flasche stilles Wasser mit zwei Gläser bestellt. Leider gab es nur ein Glas und Wasser mit Kohlensäure. Das Servicepersonal hat sich entschuldigt und es gab sofort ein Glas und eine Flasche stilles Wasser. Die Sauberkeit im Restaurant lässt etwas zu wünschen. Auf dem Boden und an dem Fenstern hingen tote Insekten. Es war früh am Abend, also hätte ich es schön gefunden, wenn in der Pause sauber gemacht geworden wäre. Zahlung nur mit Bargeld möglich. Zum Glück ist der Geldautomat nicht weit weg gewesen. Es war für mich ungewöhnlich, dass in einem Restaurant keine Kartenzahlung möglich ist.

Das Essen ist gut. Ggf. etwas zu salzig, aber das lohnt nicht zu kritisieren. Ein großer Kritikpunkt ist für mich die Bezahlung. Das man im Jahr 2023 nicht mit der Karte bezahlen kann ist leider ein No Go für mich. Weswegen ich persönlich das Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen werde.

Das Essen war gut, jedoch lief der Service sehr schleppend. Man musste lange warten, bis jemand kam und auch wenn man zwischendurch noch etwas bestellen wollte, hat es sehr lange gedauert. Der Service ist noch ausbaufähig!

War mittags da, wenig los. Essen kam nach ca. 30 Minuten. Das Gericht von der Mittagskarte war sehr gut. Der Service sehr freundlich aber scheinbar noch unerfahren. Alles in allem aber eine klare Empfehlung.

Das Essen war wirklich lecker, auch wenn der Salat erst während des Hauptganges gereicht wurde. Ein bisschen freundlicher könnte der Service sein. Als wir dort ankamen, war als erstes die Frage, ob wir reserviert hätten. Keinen "Guten Abend" oder dergleichen. Ansonsten eigentlich ein ganz nettes und gemütliches Restaurant, etwas hellhörig, aber okay. Leider wurden wir vom Service erst beim Bezahlen darauf hingewiesen, dass keine Kartenzahlung möglich sei. Es wäre besser, wenn man dies gleich beim Aufnehmen der Bestellung sagt. Es wurde zwischendurch nur gefragt, ob es schmeckt, aber nicht, ob wir noch einen Getränkewunsch hätten. Die Toiletten waren sauber, es gab keine Papierhandtücher oder dergleichen zum Hände abtrocknen.

Tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Überdurchschnittlich gutes griechisches Essen und freundlicher Service ohne lange Wartezeiten. Ambiente modern und geradlinig.

Eten was goed maar de bediening was ongelooflijk traag. In een leeg restaurant meer dan 2,5 uur gezeten, en maar 1 cola mogen drinken en anderhalf uur op eten mogen wachten. Waardeloos!

Super Atmosphäre und Service und das Essen war Wunderbar 6 Sterne wenn ich könnte

Leider war das Essen nicht so gut, wie gehofft. Schade, dass nicht alle Zutaten eines Gerichts auf der Karte aufgezählt sind, dann hätte man sich von vornherein anders entscheiden können. Personal bringt zwar das Essen, was schon ziemlich gedauert hat, vergisst aber den benutzten Aschenbecher zu entfernen, geschweige denn zwischendurch mal zu leeren. Bei leeren Gläsern wird nicht nachgefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Eine Vorab-Info, dass das Kartengerät nicht funktioniert, wäre hilfreich... Nicht jeder hat heutzutage immer genug Bargeld dabei.

Die Karte sieht zwar super aus und das Ambiente sowie die hohen Preise verheißen hochwertige griechische Küche. Leider ist genau das Gegenteil der Fall: Die Bedienung war extrem langsam und unfreundlich (wir haben fast 45 Minuten auf unsere Getränke gewartet, obwohl der Laden leer war). Die Drinks schmeckten so, als hätte ein Praktikant seinen ersten Tag (völlig falsche Mischungsverhältnisse). Die Qualität des Essens war eher unterer Durchschnitt (Fleisch zum Teil trocken, gefärbte Oliven, Fake-FETA-Käse usw.) und "zufällig" konnte man nicht mit Karte bezahlen, was wohl häufiger vorkommt, wie uns das Personal mitteilte... Dann mussten wir dem Kellner noch ausrechnen wie viel Rückgeld er uns geben muss, weil er dazu nicht in der Lage war. Hier essen wir garantiert nie wieder.

Geschmacklich okay.Die Portionen sind relativ klein,der Service etwas chaotisch bzw wirkt etwas überfordert. Aber grundsätzlich ein schönes Lokal.Vielleicht haben wir einfach nen schlechten Tag erwischt.

Griechisches Lokal mit ansprechendem Ambiente direkt in der Fußgängerzone. Landestypische Speisen zum fairen Preis werden freundlich serviert. Als Starter einen Ouzo gratis. Bifteki und Souvlaki waren lecker. Gleich vorne im Fensterbereich viele 2er-Tische, sonst auch für größere Familienrunden ideale Plätze. Eingang ebenerdig. Zur Toilette steile Treppe in den Keller.

Der ehemalige Fuchsbau wurde nun zum Griechischen Restaurant umgestaltet.. Stilvolles eingerichtetes Lokal in bester Lage in der Langen Str. Freundliches Personal und guter Service.. Das Essen ist schmackhaft und Gut gewürzt.. die Preise sind für meinen Geschmack einen Ticken zu angehoben.. aber grundsätzlich zu empfehlen und wir kommen gerne wieder

Letzte Woche war ich dort mit meinem Partner zum Abendessen. Wir hatten Gyros und überbackene Kartoffeln und es wahr sehr lecker und authentisch. Da ich oft in Griechenland bin, kann ich sagen, dass das Gyros wie in Griechenland schmeckt. Das Ambiente ist ebenfalls sehr atmosphärisch und einladend. Der Service war effizient und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Das Essen kam sehr schnell an und kostenloses Ouzo wurde uns auch angeboten. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist ebenfalls gut, sodass wir einen schönen Abend unter 40 Euro hatten. Danke sehr für den schönen Abend bei euch!
