Unfortunately, it was not worth the trip from Freiburg to Stuttgart to visit this restaurant. The organization with the reservation was very poor: I made one weeks in advance and, although they called me to confirm 7 people, upon arrival they informed us in an unkind way that it was not possible to accommodate us together. The girls had to sit alone at another table. As for the food, my dish of mote con chicharrón was delicious, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The ceviche, which is my son's favorite dish, was so salty that it was impossible to eat. The other dishes were of average quality and, honestly, lacking in Ecuadorian authenticity. I expected much more, both in service and flavor. A shame.

Deliciously seasoned Ecuadorian food in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

As an Ecuadorian, I had high expectations and was happy to finally have found an Ecuadorian restaurant nearby. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Starting with the selection of dishes. Ecuadorian cuisine has so much more to offer than just rice with lentils or rice with pork. Personally, I missed the most important dishes such as “Fritada, Llapingachos, Hornado, Guatita, Bolón, etc.” I ordered an “Encebollado” and anyone who has ever eaten this dish in Ecuador will simply be disappointed here. The broth is far too thick and tastes more like a tomato soup than a fish soup, as it should. The pieces of tuna, yucca and a carrot (which actually had no place in the encebollado) in the soup were simply too big - normally these are chopped up first and then added to the broth. Unfortunately, none of this was an “encebollado”. The “menestra” was also overpriced. A plate with rice, lentils and strips of pork belly. The ambience: we became aware of the restaurant through a mini-documentary. This presented itself as an almost gourmet restaurant, but this was another disappointment. The music was a bit too loud to have a normal conversation, and the only thing that was gourmet was the prices. Unfortunately, as an Ecuadorian, I am really disappointed that I had hoped to finally have my country's cuisine close by. But if not even an “encebollado” can be cooked properly, THE Ecuadorian dishes are missing from the menu, and I don't feel like I'm at home in the restaurant 🇪🇨, then unfortunately that's only 2/5 stars for me.

So we spontaneously went there at 8 p.m. in the evening, totally disappointing. We just wanted a little drink and there was nothing on the menu. So we decided on wine and a bit of snacks. According to the statement, they don't have any snacks so they recommended banana chips to us, which are totally overpriced. Spending €30 on wine and banana chip!!!!!!! So sorry😥 the staff hardly speaks German and have no interest at all. Don't you have to go?

I really appreciate the effort of those who work there to have a Latin American restaurant, there are not many options around Stuttgart for Latin American food, the Ecuadorian food they serve there is of very good quality. The staff is mostly Latino, that also gives it a great touch of authenticity. They have Latin American music and the staff is very attentive. I recommend as my favorite dish the "arroz con Menestra" with chicharrón, very good indeed. The tamarind lemonade is also worth it. I hope to return soon

Unfortunately the food is not as expected. If you know the food from Ecuador, you will unfortunately be disappointed here. Starting with the service, the staff wasn't necessarily friendly and rather disinterested in their work. We ordered 6 dishes, with Seco de Pollo the rice was unfortunately too hard, with Panzeta a spicy sauce was used, which is not usually common in Ecuador, and you should also ask the people beforehand if they would like it spicy. You could no longer enjoy the dishes that were too spicy. Encebollado used too much glutamate. The atmosphere is nice, especially the pictures on the walls from Ecuador.

Good selection of dishes, prepared in a traditional Latin American way. Everything tasted great 👍. I would highly recommend the daily menu for just €20... it includes the starter, main course and dessert.

The service is okay and the food is rather more expensive, but the price-performance ratio is okay for the portion size. Unfortunately, the lamb and the little sauce that came with it at Seco were far too salty for my taste. The water glasses were chalky and therefore looked somehow dirty and not so appetizing.

Very tasty food in a relaxed, informal environment...you help yourself to drinks from the fridge, order at the front of the counter and pay immediately...Latin American music is playing in the background...mixed with the chatter of the owners, who are sitting together with friends and enjoy the evening...almost like you're on vacation there:-)

We had saved the el seco for a long time and were now there on a Friday evening. We had a reservation for 8 p.m. but there were still a few tables available. The food was very tasty. We had Ceviche Pescado (with tuna) and El Seco with beef. The meat was a bit dry, but maybe that's how it should be! The dish was definitely very good. The ceviche was extremely good. Very very tasty! Authentic, “like in Peru,” is what my friend told me! Unfortunately, we found the atmosphere a bit unusual with the previous payment at the checkout. We found that impersonal and uninviting. Maybe that's part of the general Ecuadorian concept of the restaurant. But we will definitely come back because we were looking for such a good ceviche in Stuttgart and found it here!

Very tasty food, nice staff and delicious Pisco Sour. We can recommend it to everyone, especially if you would like to eat something different than the standard restaurants.

Super fresh and delicious Ecuadorian food.

Was there with an ex-colleague for lunch. Their lunch menu has a good value. You can choose your starter and main course. Dessert is decided by the restaurant. The main course is a bit salty in my opinion but taste is a very personal thing. Staff are friendly and you can get free water from them. This is causal place more than a proper restaurant. Somehow a little Ikea feeling. Chairs are not that stable so not that comfortable. All-in-all is recommendable place as food is clearly prepared with heart and not high-street instant products.

A little piece of Ecuador in Germany, very very good

It is a self-service restaurant where orders are placed at the cash register and paid for directly. The drinks and food are then brought to the table. In terms of taste, the food is rather bland, i.e. only slightly seasoned. The portion size is okay. The furnishings of the restaurant are practical and simple. The ambience doesn't entice you to stay longer.

The service and reception is very, very friendly, but orders at the checkout require immediate payment. Directly the service setback. So it's partly a self-service restaurant. Unfortunately, the online menu on our own website attracts interested parties like us with old prices. Prices that were 30% more expensive greeted us on site. Main courses from 14€ to 18/20€. Well, yes. All of this directly caps my stars at 2-3. Atmosphere more like a clean, stylish canteen. That doesn't mean anything bad, current canteens and cafeterias look chic, but not a wow for us. Likewise the presentations on the plates. Very very nice the free tap water. Delicious food, but not 18/20€ level. My companion mistook my squid ceviche for a soup because of the amount of liquid. It was good, but reminded me more of my father's Greek octopus salad than a ceviche as I normally know it. Good, but unfortunately not a wow either. The main course with the pork belly and lentils was also delicious. Interesting cocktails with sugar cane schnapps. The Caña Sour for €9.50 could be more sour. Good little restaurant, but not a personal recommendation because resto prices with only 50% service. After the visit we felt the old prices were more appropriate for what was on offer. But for “Yes, we know, but the boss has to update the website!”, dinner fans like me who like to try new things unfortunately only get a maximum of 2-3 stars. This is a PDF that can be exchanged in 15 seconds. Evil tongues could assume an intention. There is room for improvement in all areas.

It has been a bit disappointing both for lunch and dinner. The price is super high, the food was salty or too strong. In Ecuador the „almuerzo „ is served with juice, for 20€ pp it should have included a juice. The encebollado and ceviche were spicy, which should not be. Usually the „ahi“ is served separately. Great food. Small selection but everything was very tasty and nicely prepared. Thought it was a restaurant but the service was more like a canteen. But staff very nice. All in all tasty and good.

We drove an extra 100 km with my family to celebrate my birthday there. It was not possible to reach anyone via the telephone numbers or email provided in advance. Despite making a reservation via an online form, after dessert, we and our guests were told to leave in 10 minutes! The place was half empty and everyone was disturbed by this manner. Not very "mi casa es tu casa". Además foldó the Pilsener and the ají. All in all, more of a company canteen style with exotic food for Germans.

WOW...first time eating Ecuadorian food...very tasty! A huge mountain of large camarones, a refreshing cold sour broth with very fine red onions, rice and banana bread... absolutely delicious!!!

The restaurant is simply furnished in the seating area and you order at the cash register; reminds of a bistro here. The menu is small, but with dishes that the kitchen prepares superbly. I really enjoyed the ceviche with tuna and seco with chicken. In any case, nice memories of Ecuador came back. I find the prices to be fair. And there's a free carafe of water at the table! Wow! 👍

Great Ecuadorian food, reasonable prices.

We recently visited el seco and would like to share our experiences. It was our first time at an Ecuadorian restaurant and we were excited about the culinary experience. First of all, you have to pay at the checkout before meals are served. This is somewhat unusual and may be inconvenient for some guests. Another point that struck us negatively was the arrival of the starters and main courses at the same time. Although we both ordered separately, they were served almost at the same time, which detracted from the enjoyment of each course. Unfortunately, the squid ceviche we tried was mediocre. It lacked the freshness and flavor we would expect from a good ceviche. In addition, all the dishes we tried were overly salted, which further spoiled the overall impression. Overall our visit was rather disappointing. We hope the restaurant addresses these criticisms and makes improvements to provide guests with a better dining experience. P.S. The staff was very friendly and nice. The passion fruit juice is also recommended and very tasty. We liked the music too.

The food is fine, but there is not much to choose from regarding drinks, and no alcohol free beer. We were asked to go after 50 minutes as the table was needed, but we had made a reservation and had the table booked for another 40 mins. Not much for vegetarians. I would say more like a canteen than a restaurant.

Of course we wanted it, as an Ecuador fan with a craving for delicious ceviche. The service told us that there was no fish left. No ceviche. It's a shame, but you're flexible. We had reserved a table for 6 p.m. on Saturday and when we arrived a little later (around 6:10 p.m.), we had to wait until a table was made available with great difficulty. There were even other people there who had also reserved for 6 p.m. and also had to "fight" for their place. Very disorganized and you weren't told straight away that you had to order food and drinks at the checkout. We didn't find the drink prices anywhere before. But the food was very tasty! However, I would not recommend going by planned and with a larger group (there were six of us), but only with two or three people and only spontaneously. We didn't really like the atmosphere because it was very loud and, apart from the food, everything was a bit reminiscent of a fast food restaurant.

A first time and it left a lot to be desired. First we had a reservation for 3 people, the only free table upon arrival was a table for two people, when I expressed my discomfort by saying that it was very narrow, the waitress, in a tone that said she didn't care, told us "We are full" and I see around me 2 people at a table for 4. And I think... how bad that they don't even organize people well knowing that they have reservations. Or is the reservation a decoration? Anyway, I didn't understand the restaurant system very well. Why do you have to order at the cashier and pay instantly? Why don't they put a menu with the drinks they offer? Apart from the chair I had, it needed adjustment, I didn't feel safe. On the other hand, the food was good and the music in general was very cool.

Hello!! As an Ecuadorian from Guayaquil, I didn't like the food at all, the person who prepared the encebollado has no idea how it is cooked, like the seafood casserole and the rice with stew, it was a disappointment. Calling Ecuadorian food should not harm the gastronomy of our country. The service was pleasant and so was the music. But it was a learning experience. The 2 hour drive to Stuttgart. Pero en el poco tiempo que estuvimos no nos sentimos bienvenidos. Que pena que se comporten mal con gente del propio país, por muchos meses tenía ganas de ir a comer al lugar y apoyarlos y recomendarlos pero ahora sé cómo es todo. Estoy decepcionado 😢

You have to order like a fast food restaurant at the cashier then you get the plates on your table. We came in a group of 7 people and the waitress did not welcome us or quickly set the table. Didn't seem too be much glad to have the restaurant full 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fui a celebrar mi cumpleaños ahí. La comida es espectacular y la musica tambien. Siempre traen agua con tu comida, lo cual me encanta. Tal vez solo daría como tip tener un poco mas de variedad de bebidas.

Si quieres comer algo distinto en Stuttgart...este es el sitio. El ambiente es como estar en casa, pero con la profesionalidad de un buen servicio. Los platos son contundentes y por supuesto acompaña tu comida con un vino ecuatoriano, yo disfruté el que tome. Seguro que vuelvo de nuevo.

I am Ecuadorian and I think I had a bit too high expectations, the patacones were great, I ordered arroz con menestra and sadly I was disappointed, the meat was overcooked and dry. The salad was too sour, the menestra was with really little sauce and felt like something was missing. I love the idea of having an Ecuadorian restaurant in Germany, I believe that they can make it better.

About 2 weeks ago I decided to go to this restaurant for the second time but unfortunately it was a mistake traveling from the South - it was a waste of my time and money. The service was not good as it seemed to me that the cashier was a bit unfriendly. We asked for two dishes, one was supposed to be an Ecuadorian "cebiche mixto" which had the fish completely raw and was extremely spicy and cold that destroyed the taste of the dish. To me as an Ecuadorian myself, this dish is other dish masqueraded as Ecuadorian. Normally when one is served a "cebiche" in Ecuador, one has the option to put spice or anything else in it; the dish never comes this spicy ready to eat. My Husband also asked for a "fritada" and he was disgusted by it as it was utterly spicy and he couldn't enjoyed the dish at all. If these actions to served the dishes utterly spicy were intentional, you've got it as we are not coming back never and under no circumstances we are recommending anybody this restaurant.

Wir haben Essen (2x Seco mit Rindfleisch) zum Mitnehmen bestellt, das war auch soweit geschmacklich OK, das Rindfleisch hätte etwas weicher sein können. Leider hat es uns gar nicht bekommen. Wir haben es sofort verzehrt (auf unserer Fahrt ins Zuhause 3h außerhalb Stuttgarts) aber beide extreme Bauchschmerzen und Krämpfe bekommen. (Meine Frau hat eine Glutenallergie und hatte sehr schnell mit Reflux zu kämpfen - die Soße hatte sicher Weizenmehl) Zur schnellen Antwort und Reaktion des Restaurants - diese empfinden wir als semi-professionell und würden uns wünschen, das offene Kritik nicht mit Anschuldigungen beantwortet wird.

La comida no está mal, pero el sitio está desorganizado. Nos pusieron una mesa sin una pata, la tuvimos que buscar nosotros porque para el personal no era problema (sabían que se había caído un rato antes y lo dejaron mal). Meten más mesas de las que caben, nosotros no podíamos salir sin golpearnos con los carteles. Hay que levantarse para pedir y pagar en ese momento. La camarera se equivocó cobrando, puso 9 euros de más y dijo que no tenía solución una vez cobrado, que pidiéramos otra cosa más....lo nunca visto.

Celebré mi cumpleaños en el Seco y a pesar que tuve un retraso para llegar al restaurante por un evento previo, el personal se comportó comprensible y nos atendieron de la manera más rápida y cordial. Como ecuatoriano, recomiendo el restaurante y definitivamente volvería.

Great little restaurant with Latin grooves and a nice ambiance. The food was great! They cook a lot with plantains, fish or seafood. I ordered a first and second course and was so incredibly full afterwards. I really recommend encebollado! That was fantastic! It was so good that I forgot to take a photo before eating . Also, the tres leches pastel is really something else. Apart from that they have a small cocktail bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, which we also really enjoyed. They are rather small though and with 6-9€ per drink not cheap. You should know that you have to order and pay directly at the cashier. It seems that card payments are preferred, but if you want to give a tip you should bring some cash. Vegetarians will have a hard time finding a main dish though.

The vibe and service are awesome but food from was too salty (the night I went). But my friend had been there the week prior and said he had a perfectly seasoned dish so I guess it can be hit or miss depending upon which night you go. I had fish ceviche which came with a little bowl of rice and two slices of plantains and a cocktail (I can’t remember which one I ordered). I think I might go back to try on a different night.

La comida está rica pero es imposible salir de allí sin que te apeste la ropa y el pelo a comida. Tras una hora y media debes de dejar la mesa. No creo que vuelva porque odio salir oliendo a comida.

Came here with my wife on a Friday night around 6pm. The reservation was made via Google which was super easy! When we got there, there were still plenty of tables available for those who may not have a reservation. As for the food. The ceviche was amazing! We got the ceviche with shrimp and tuna, and I was blown away. Stuttgart is not known for seafood, but this place made it really good! We also got the seco de carne, which was very tasty but the beef was pretty hard and dry. I felt like it could have been cooked longer to make it softer but it wasn't. Either way, I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back!

Nettes Lokal sehr authentisch. Die Gerichten waren alle lecker und super gewürzt. Personal nett aber leider Bestellung und zahlen immer direkt an der Theke. Was den Abend etwas ungemütlich gemacht hat. Und eine Getränkekarte fehlt auch. Komme gerne wieder!

Ich finde das Essen wirklich besonders und mag es sehr. Viele rohe Zwiebeln gehören dazu und viel Fisch oder Fleisch. Der Geschmack ist aber immer frisch und aufregend. Sie Bestellung an der Kasse mag ich aber gar nicht, weil sie eine Kaufhausstimmung erzeugt. Der Raum selber ist mir zu kalt gestaltet.

Mi experiencia en el seco fue una de las más gratas que he tenido comiendo fuera del País. Sinceramente es un bocado del Ecuador en tu boca cuando pruebas cualquier de los platos. Qué alegría que haya un lugar así en Stuttgart. Un verdadero embajador de la gastronomía ecuatoriana. Los felicito!

This review may arrive a bit later. A couple of months ago, I when to the restaurant, since is the only Ecuadorian restaurant I found in Germany. The food is not of bad quality, and if you are not from Ecuador or you have never been in Ecuador you will love it, the taste is good. And this is what I saw in many good reviews from people that is not from Ecuador. However, if you are an Ecuadorian that has been in every corner of Mi lindo Ecuador, the food that is served in el seco is not Ecuadorian food. Yes, the food has a lot of Ecuadorian touch but is not Ecuadorian. I talked about this with the guy who served me that day and I told him to give my comments to the owner, and he said the owner was not there. The way the prepare it, the meat and the dishes they use are not in the way we do it in Ecuador ( that is what I could say from the dishes I ordered: Encebollado and Menestra) I understand it is hard to prepare food from your country when you are far away because of the ingredients. I just feel a bit cheated, since a traveled 4 hours just to have some "Ecuadorian food" after a couple of years. The service was really good I can't complain about that. And I don't have anything about Mexico and Mexican people but the atmosphere was most of a Mexican restaurant than an Ecuadorian one. Maybe I'm wrong or my expectations where too high, but if you say you have a Ecuadorian restaurant you better have an Ecuadorian restaurant: music, the way of preparing food, drinks, etc. Don't get me wrong, the food is good quality and the service is good also. Here I'm just expressing my personal point of view.

Das Essen war gut und bezahlbar (für S-Mitte), die Cocktails waren eher teuer und weniger empfehlenswert. Man bezahlt zuerst, dann kommt das Essen und die Getränke (dadurch bestellt man nichts nach und zahlt kein Trinkgeld - ist zu überdenken). Der Service war gut und freundlich.

Zum Mittagessen dort gewesen - unglaublich leckere Cevice (mit Garnelen gegessen), sehr aromatisch, einfach nur lecker. Als Mittagsmenü sehr reichhaltig! Lohnt sich absolut hier vorbeizukommen.

Essen ist sehr lecker, der Service zwar freundlich, aber nicht sehr kompetent.

Es war wirklich ein tolles Essen. Freundliche Bedienung. Wir hatten drei Gerichte zu zweit, eine veganes Ceviche war dabei. Super lecker! Es war soviel, dass wir viel nach Hause mitnahmen. Man sollte reservieren. Auch das Getränk mit Kokosmilch idt sehr zu empfehlen.

S Ässe isch sehr frisch und fein und de Service exzellent gsi. S Räschti entspricht in jede Hinsicht de schwiizerische Qualitätsstandards. Mir chömed gärn wieder.

Tolles Essen, super liebe Bedienung und gutes Ambiente mit bester Musik im Hintergrund! Werde definitiv wiederkommen wenn ich in Stuttgart bin!

Das Essen (und die frische Maracuja Limo!) war ein Traum, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Unfassbar lecker zubereitet und gewürzt und die Menschen dort super freundlich und offenherzig 🫶🏼

Los que dicen que la comida no tiene el sabor típico de Edcuador (pocos), no se que paladar tienen la verdad, es de lo más cercano al sabor ecuatoriano que he probado, ni en restaurantes ecuatorianos en España llegan a este nivel.

Se ve todo muy bueno pero seria genial si estuviera abierto el fin de semana.

Das Essen war fantastisch! Neues Geschmackserlebnis, absolut einen Besuch Wert. Der Service ist freundlich, allerdings macht das "An-der-Theke-bestellen-und-bezahlen" einen Kantineneindruck, was schade ist. Das Essen wird an den Tisch es gibt einen Liter stilles Wasser gratis zum Trinken. Das Ambiente ist sehr puristisch, für meinen Geschmack dürfte es etwas liebevoller gestaltet sein.

Autentisch, sehr fein, Ecuadorianisch, locker, laut, sympatisch …….. Das Restaurant selber ist nicht sehr autentisch, klar, es ist auch in D und nicht in Ecuador. Aber um die ecuadorianische Koche zu geniessen eine super Adresse

We loved the delicous food which tasted like in south america. The price is so fair and the portions are actually big! The staff is really nice and can help with choosing the dishes if you have certain preferences. It’s very authentic with a cozy location and overall we will come here more often. Especially the service is outstanding so no complaints :)

Das essen sehr schlecht und teuer. Der cocktail war ein sehr kleines Glas für 9euro. Und es hat nicht geschmeckt.
