It was our first time there, and from the super friendly welcome, to the initial recommendations from the daily menu, and the subsequent guidance on selecting and combining dishes, the dishes were incredibly delicious, looked amazing, and the desserts were also top-notch! El Olivo offers delicious tapas in a beautiful location near Recklinghausen. The terrace is a dream! Only the high chairs at the table weren't quite to my taste, otherwise great!

This excellent restaurant impresses with its attention to detail and the clearly recognizable desire to not only satisfy guests, but also to send them on a culinary journey from Catalonia to Andalusia... In the rustic Spanish main room, guests are served specialties prepared with authenticity and love. The staff is very attentive and friendly, the wine selection is very good and you can even order a decaffeinated "Cortado". Starving, I could only photograph the empty dessert containers. On weekends and the eve of holidays it is essential to book in advance; In the middle of the week you can get a good table in the evening without needing a reservation. 10 out of 10 points.

We were there for the first time today and we really enjoyed it. Friendly service, excellent food, and everything was super fresh. It won't be the last time we're there. That was six years ago, and what can I say? Now we go there every four weeks. It's been like coming home for us.

As always, our visit to El Olivio was a great experience. As always, we had various appetizers that we shared with everyone. The small portions were sufficient for the main course. The staff was very friendly and professional. The value for money is very good, with some individual prices even exceeding this. The only negative point is that credit card payments were not possible; only debit cards or cash were accepted.

We had a lovely evening with very good food. My only criticism: Preparing each guest with two slices of baguette and a little aioli as a welcome from the kitchen is, in my opinion, part of good service. Especially since the dessert plates at the tables also left this impression. Instead, we were charged €5.60 each for two portions.

My wife invited us to El Olivo for her birthday. Excellent Spanish food of the highest quality. All dishes were really tasty. The grilled fish and seafood was to die for. Please keep it up, we'll definitely be back.

Sowohl die Auswahl konventioneller Gerichte, als auch die Tapas, sind gut. Traditionelle Gerichte werden hier auf den Punkt zubereitet und die Beratung, gerade bei/vor der Bestellung von Tapas passt. Die Weinkarte ist ausreichend und fair bepreist. Die Lage ist vielleicht nicht ganz optimal, dafür bekommt man relativ gut Parkplätze. Eine Reservierung ist empfohlen, ebenso, wie das Restaurant an sich.

Eine mit viel Bedacht und Liebe zusammengestellte Auswahl an köstlichen Gerichten der sowohl gehobenen als auch traditionellen spanischen Küche. Dazu exzellente Weine. Hochprofessioneller Service, und gemütlich-elegant eingerichtete Räumlichkeiten. Absolut klasse, war ein rundum gelungener Abend, zum ersten Mal besucht, aber keinesfalls zum letzten Mal! Unbedingt weiterzuempfehlen!

Ein tolles Restaurant mit super leckeren Tapas. Dazu ein perfekter Service mit sehr guter Beratung. So wollte mein Sohn heute gleich 5 Tapas bestellen, wovon ihm, auf Grund der Menge, abgeraten wurde. So muss Service sein, mit Blick auf die Kunden und nicht aufs eigene Geschäft. Das Restaurant ist sicherlich nicht billig, aber es lohnt sich.

It's nice that you are able to see that we have also rated other companies negatively. It takes a fair amount of skill to notice this, compliments. The only question is what this has to do with your approach and behavior. Anyone who writes a threat like you does also buys inferior quality, offers poor service and sells drinks at exorbitant prices. No, we are not fake. We don't need anything like that. There is no reason to rate you without visiting your home. Forget your thoughts along these lines. It's better to focus on better quality purchasing, nice service and fair prices for guests. Avoid threats in the future. These only confirm to us what kind of person you really are. Such people also act as we have described. Our rating after visiting as guests Inferior quality, disrespectful service and the drinks are overpriced. It is worthwhile for the restaurateur to pay more money for purchasing goods. This way the guest also gets quality. No sense in eating here.

Super tasty tapas. Very nice staff and a nice boss who also serves in the restaurant and on the terrace. We always enjoy it here. The Crema Catalan is also delicious. Finally, an espresso. It was another beautiful evening.

Sehr nettes Personal, man fühl sich hier herzlich willkommen. Das Essen (wir hatten diverse Tapas) war super lecker, hier gibt es eine große Auswahl und Vielfältigkeit. Die Location ist nett, jedoch finde ich die Tische sehr eng aneinander gestellt, somit ist der Lärmpegel auch sehr hoch. Die Freundlichkeit und die gute Qualität haben uns jedoch überzeugt, wir kommen sicherlich wieder und nehme die 22 km anfahrt in Kauf.

Last Saturday we dined with a couple of friends on the terrace at El Olivo when the weather was nice. Everything was great! The menu has something for every taste, whether tapas or main courses. The different dishes were all extremely tasty, the service was relaxed, attentive and very focused on the guest. We had a lovely evening at El Olivo and would love to come back.

We recommend. The two of us had the following tapas: bread with aioli, pepper salad, mushrooms, goat cheese, bacon-wrapped dates and chicken. Everything was very tasty and enough for the two of us. For dessert there was Creme Catalane. Not a bargain overall, but we'll be back.

The tapas I chose were very tasty, but not outstanding, especially since they were rather expensive. Good, vegan and vegetarian products clearly marked. The service was extremely courteous, friendly and also gave very good advice regarding quantities. The atmosphere is cozy, but too much bullfighting for me personally. My conclusion: expensive, but still recommended

Sehr schönes Ambiente im Lokal, als wir da waren, war es leider zu kalt für den Außenbereich, da das Restaurant aber recht schön/ruhig gelegen zu sein scheint, kann ich mir die Terrasse für wärmere Tage auch sehr gut vorstellen. Der Service ist sehr gut, das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, lange nicht mehr so gut erlebt. Wir haben Tapas gegessen und alle waren hervorragend zubereitet und sehr lecker. Die Preise sind eher im höheren Bereich, aber aufgrund der Gesamtqualität auch gerechtfertigt. Alles in allem hatten wir einen wirklich tollen Abend und kommen sicherlich wieder.

We were seated a bit cramped. However, there are better places there. The food was exceptional. You can't get it on every corner. The owner was very funny and accommodating. We felt really comfortable.

Six of us were there on a weekend. The atmosphere is modern and attractive, but the tables are very close together. The service is super friendly and funny and also quick. We liked that. It was also always seen when glasses were empty. That was great. The menu offers a small selection of tapas. We would have wished for a lot more here. I've experienced it differently too. However, the food is of high quality. Everything was very delicious. Some had dessert, which they loved (Churros, Mousse and Cr. Catalana), but I only ate appetizers and salad. The price of the latter is significantly too expensive, it only comes with a small slice of cheese, the rest is bits and pieces. But that was the only negative thing. The rest was absolutely fine. CONCLUSION: nice ambience and high-quality dishes at reasonable prices.

A great selection of food. Great in taste and a delight for the palate and senses. Detailed and well-founded explanations of the dishes from the host. The service is perfect, as is the ambience. The wine list is also very good, as is the sangria, absolutely delicious! You can relax wonderfully in the cozy atmosphere. How nice that something like this still exists today. Very rare, but you enjoy it even more. I am happy to recommend the restaurant with full conviction!

The food was very good, very good quality. Best Spanish food in a long time. Many Spanish restaurants claim to be authentic, but they aren't, and that doesn't apply here at El Olivo. Service was very nice. But there is a minus. Dishes weren't brought out at the same time, which meant that some people were able to eat and others had to wait longer, which was a shame. Otherwise, El Olivo is recommended.

We ate at El Olivio today and what can I say!? It was the best restaurant visit in months! If you value authentic Spanish cuisine, really good quality food, workmanship and taste like Abuela's at home, THEN GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! Here you can get everything your heart desires! In typical Spanish fashion, we ordered a variety of tapas, all of which were a dream! Yes, the price is slightly higher here than in some chains, for example, but you also get top quality for which I'm happy to pay a few euros more! There is also a great atmosphere, which is very familiar but also very professional! I recommend this restaurant with 5*plus! Thank you for this wonderful evening and the little trip home! Had a meal here, the prices here are very high, the previous Greek restaurant wasn't any better.

The best tapas I've ever eaten outside of Spain (and it wasn't always so tasty there...)! Not cheap in price, but worth every euro! Service was totally accommodating, friendly and personable with a relaxed attitude. Parking spaces are available on public streets.

As always, very tasty... Great tapas and super good dessert... The team is very nice and attentive. We didn't lack for anything. We always like to come back.

For me it's still the best tapas bar I've eaten in so far. The nice thing is that you can get different tapas here than the normal standard ones. Everything was prepared super delicious and tasted really great. Certainly a bit more expensive, but it's worth it. The homemade sangria is also great.

Tappas okay, ... in my opinion overpriced for the quality. I can live with that. What doesn't work and annoys the guests is the sometimes inappropriate communication of the young "waiter"... he's more suited to a youth bar than a restaurant that claims to offer fine dining...

Tolles Essen mit frischen Produkten, voller Begeisterung serviert von freundlichem und aufmerksamen Service. Ob Tapas oder große Gerichte, es war alles sehr gut, zum Abschluss sind Crema Catalan und Churros sehr zu empfehlen. Fragen zur Herkunft der Waren und den verwendeten Gewürzen beantwortet der Chef gerne und ausführlich.

Wenn wir Tapas essen gehen, dann auf jeden Fall hier! Super lecker, wenn auch für Tapas normal etwas höherpreisiger. Sowohl vegetarische als auch Tapas mit Fleisch und Fisch oder der Nachtisch schmecken dort hervorragend. Insbesondere der frittierte Tintenfisch und die Garnelen sind dort ein Muss! Als Nachtisch rundet ein spanischer Mandelkuchen das perfekte Essen ab. Service ist auch immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Immer wieder gerne!

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe anlässlich einer Geburtstagsfeier dort. Es gab eine Tapas-Reise in 3 Etappen. Wir wurden herzlich vom Chef selbst betreut und der Service war top. Die Zusammenstellung und Qualität der Speisen war Spitzenklasse. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!
