We visited this restaurant and were extremely dissatisfied with the service. The young waiter behaved just terribly. With headphones in his ears and constantly on his cell phone, he showed no interest in the customers. We called him three times but only received complete ignorance in response. When we finally got his attention, we were met with rude behavior. The food was, well, normal, but we were more annoyed by the behavior of the waiter, who clearly had no desire to serve the guests. Such service is absolutely unacceptable. I don't recommend this restaurant if you value normal service.

The negative first: The portion sizes are relatively small and the price is very overpriced. Now the positive: the quality of the food is good and the staff is very friendly.

Over an hour waiting time for 5 people to eat. Staff didn't know what vegan/vegetarian was and weren't particularly motivated at work.

Unfortunately we were totally disappointed. After 32 minutes in the restaurant we only had our drinks and that with a total of only 15 tables in the restaurant and 3 people in service. Red wine was offered in white wine glasses. Water was not restricted, the bottle with glasses was just put down. After 1 hour and 37 minutes our food was there (bream and salmon). Unfortunately the grilled vegetables were cold. Finally, after paying, we had to wait another 10 minutes for the hospitality receipt. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We all enjoyed the food very much. For a “simple salad with chicken,” this tasted extremely good. The only point of criticism is the automatic sliding door, which caused it to pull more and more often because, understandably, it doesn't close straight away.

It's literally an insult to Spanish food, it has nothing to do with it. Aside from it being ridiculously expensive. They blatantly mislead people who want to eat popular Spanish dishes and expect them to at least be prepared correctly. Too bad.

Total failure!!! If there is not enough capacity, you don't set up another row of tables. Every time the guests walk through, you have your ass in the back of your neck. The first drinks came after an hour. Staff overwhelmed, food order was also mixed up or completely forgotten, I'll say it like this...never again!!!

We were looking forward to a great evening, but were very disappointed. We ordered tapas and pasta. After almost 1.5 hours, only fried zucchini (€10 for a few limp slices) and baked cheese (€10 for 5 mini pieces of baked Camembert) arrived. After another 15 minutes we received a few cold dry baguette slices with aioli. We then waited about another 20 minutes for our noodles. The portion of salmon noodles was really small for €15, half of it was swimming in oil, it wasn't seasoned at all and it made me sick after every bite. Unfortunately, service was given very little attention; it was only after a long wait when we were clearing away that we asked whether it was tasty. The complaint was received in a friendly manner and we were then promised that a new, fresh portion would be prepared that we could take with us. Unfortunately, this portion (which came after 5 minutes, which previously took forever) was even smaller than before, so we have strong doubts that it was actually freshly cooked again. At least the oil was skimmed off. All in all, we are really very disappointed - such long waiting times, hardly any service and a disappointment in terms of taste. The high price is absolutely not justified. We won't be coming back.

We waited almost 1½ hours for our food. I don't understand why we have to wait so long for fried frozen Camembert wedges and limp zucchini slices?!? The bread and aioli came later. Did the grain first have to be harvested and painted in order to bake the (cold) bread? Additional requests (additional fish to a vegetarian main course) were not possible and were basically denied. There was no response to my request to inquire in the kitchen. This is unusual and not feasible. The main course was very straightforward and the noodles were swimming (no exaggeration) in the oil. The entire time, no waiter took care of us, asked if everything was good or if we wanted to order anything else. I had to draw attention to us twice before we could pay; our complaint about the food was received without any problems and in a friendly manner. (There was a new, clear, non-oily portion) to go. All in all, the evening was disappointing and the service was subpar.

Once and never again... We recently ate there and were more than disappointed. 1 star is even too much. We sat in a small alcove between the counter and the passage to the kitchen. Drinks were picked up and brought quickly. Haven't seen a Lillett Wildberry with apple pieces yet. Unfortunately, it was the opposite when it came to eating. The order was taken after about 30 minutes and then the drama began. After another hour we inquired about our food. It would be ready immediately. The dishes were not as described on the menu, some were cold, the taste was so-so and the main course came before the starter. After we expressed our displeasure we were only given a free drink and not even an apology. The evening came to a quick end for us.

There's nothing to complain about here. Top service from start to finish, great ambience with attention to detail. Food super delicious. Clear recommendation!

We have eaten here several times and have always been very satisfied and impressed. Apparently there has been a change of ownership. Various posts from the last quarter confirm my suspicions. The primitive responses to reviews also make me suspicious. Here we try to earn the same money with the same name and occasionally “well-known” dishes. I've eaten entrecote here several times in the past, today's had nothing to do with the previous one. That was just an example. It's a real shame about the cool store. We were here with 4 people, today's price is disproportionate to the performance.

It's a shame that you can't give minus stars because the evening at El Mundo was simply a failure. The service was simply terrible, the food was okay at best, and the price and performance were disproportionate. After 90 minutes the food had to be ordered. During the entire waiting time, no one from the service staff tried to look after us; they walked past us or stood at the checkout area and preferred to chat with each other instead of taking care of the guests. I cannot understand the many positive reviews, unless these guests enjoyed a completely different restaurant team. Once and never again.

First of all, the food was really great. We had various tapas for over €80 and they all tasted great and were well prepared. The boss, however, makes huge differences in the service. We had only ordered 3 tapads because we wanted to have a nice, cozy evening. We said that we would like to keep one card so we can order more later. This was simply taken away from us in the meantime and never brought back. When we tried to get in touch with him again, because we had the feeling that he would much rather deal with the more affluent people behind us at the table, it was only through repeated handling that he finally got to us. We wanted to order a total of 5 more tapas. We then ordered a tortilla and the other things didn't reach him at all because he left immediately. We then spoke to the nice female waiter who then took our order. Then the boss came to our table rather rudely and said that we had only ordered two tortillas and that he couldn't cancel it now. Which I found very unpleasant because he didn't take us seriously and we certainly didn't really feel like customers for this ambience and the price level. You can always have a bad day, but then making gestures and rolling your eyes at the next table was completely unpleasant for me. Conclusion: eat well, service from the boss worth considering.

Yesterday we were at El Mundo. We had to pay over 100 EUR. When I asked if that was correct, the only answer was, “Yes, it is.” Today we did the math, the menu can be found on the website, and we came to 85 EUR. How is that possible? Very easy. We had to pay for 3 glasses of Rioja even though we only drank 2. We were given bread with alioli and olives for the soup, even though we didn't order that. We thought it was just part of the service and even thanked them. But it was still on the bill. We also had to wait endlessly because the service was completely overwhelmed, which is understandable - the restaurant was completely full, but there was only one employee (the second waitress had to help the chef in the kitchen). We felt sorry for him, he just couldn't keep up, it's not his fault. But why would a manager let so many guests in when he doesn't have the capacity? And why are there things on the invoice that we didn't even order? Maybe we should have brought this up again last night. But like I said, the employees didn't have any time. We're just not going there again.

Good food, also for vegan or vegetarian diets.

Sehr nette Bedienung, mittelmäßige Tapas: super trockene Tortilla, gummihafte und zu ölige Garnelen, Oliven aus der Dose, 24€ sehr wenig belegte Käseplatte...

All dishes were very good. The service was attentive, advice on small changes such as changing the tapas for vegetarians was very good and problem-free. The ambience is appealing and the view of the fish market is pleasant. Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back.

Too loud, tables too close together

On a beautiful late summer day we treated ourselves to lunch in the restaurant's outdoor area. The menu is clear, the offerings are extensive and very tasty. The dessert is simply great. It was wonderful. Thank you!

It was expensive, but you still couldn't get enough. The steak was done. Shame about the food. And not even decent steak knives.

We only give one star because of the service staff, who were a bit accommodating and tried to somehow save us the rest of the evening. The two of us ordered the champions with minced meat (which were not seasoned at all - not even with salt?!?!?). We then had two mixed paellas. For €44 we ended up having simply cooked pointed grain rice with tomato sauce, frozen seafood, hardly any meat and 3-4 large shrimps (which enhanced the dish by 1%). After 2 spoons we had to send the dish back. The service person said that he couldn't take the dish off the receipt, so we ordered a burger and prawns. The order was actually okay. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't come once to ask if everything was okay, but instead sat around the corner behind the counter on his cell phone for the rest of the evening. It had nothing to do with Spanish food and was just a waste of money and time for us.

We expected something of a higher quality from a fish or meat platter for two people (we had four of us both) for a couple and ninety euros. Were very disappointed. The service was totally overwhelmed that evening. Patience was required. Starters were forgotten, and the espresso (a normal one) could be served in a teaspoon. We were disappointed! , had a completely different impression about a year ago, yes the boss was still serving himself.

In short: catastrophic service, exorbitant prices and forgetful operation Lang: We visited on August 30th, 2024 as a group of 7 people and wanted to enjoy a nice evening with Spanish cuisine and tapas... unfortunately the local waitress put a stop to our plans. After we were greeted with astonished faces and no one knew that we had even made a reservation. Then we were handed 3 tickets for 7 people, admittedly it was full, but with prices like that that can't be an excuse for everything. There were already two drinks here that were forgotten and only brought when asked (a little tip: if you use a piece of paper to write things down, then you should use that too) We continue with the food order, we are not professionals when it comes to tapas, so I don't allow myself to judge the quality of the food, but again 3 dishes worth €30 were simply forgotten... (more on that later) There When the waitress kept coming and bringing us food, we didn't say anything at first. When we had finished eating the three dishes were still missing, but we didn't miss them as we chatted and enjoyed the evening. When we were kindly informed about the last round, we wanted to pay and were shocked to find that the three dishes we ordered were on the bill. We pointed out to the waitress that we never received these dishes, which was dismissed with a shrug of the shoulders and the lie: "I can't cancel here and would have to pay for it out of my own pocket, so pay for it yourself. You have to let us know earlier " The waitress even told me that the kitchen didn't even prepare it... but now it's on the bill and we have to pay for it now (EVEN IT WASN'T PREPARED) After a bit of back and forth, our waitress started talking, a little stunned, and told us in an unfriendly tone that we should have reported the whole thing earlier. Basically yes... but we have never made or heard of such a mistake in any restaurant so far... In the end we agreed that we would pick it up one day later in the evening when we had to pay for it, which was reluctantly agreed to. Then we picked it up and apart from the fact that it was cold, less was packed than it had been the day before... e.g. the fried cheese was given without cranberries and there were only 4 instead of 6 like the day before (Again, we have paid the full price) It should be clear to everyone why we didn't go back We therefore definitely cannot give a recommendation and will not be coming back @El Mundo Reply 09/02/2024 Basically, we are not familiar with the way you work and since, as already mentioned, you took your time with everything and everything came to the table little by little, we initially assumed it would come later... It didn't ... But lying to our faces and claiming that a health insurance company couldn't cancel and FORCING us to pay for a service that wasn't provided is simply treacherous or criminal And you haven't had anything like this on the topic yet... how about you go through the reviews from the last few weeks/months (which keep reporting on it) and don't spend the time with sarcastic replies to bad reviews, but rather deal with justified criticism ??.

We were warmly welcomed and accompanied throughout the evening. Since we were unsure when ordering, we got a large tapas platter and various small things on the table. Everything was super tasty and plentiful. A successful evening, thanks to the El Mundo team👍

Authentic Spanish food. We recommend.

The service was friendly and quick, which was unfortunately the most positive thing I can report from my visit here. We had the fish paella. Unfortunately, this wasn't authentically Spanish at all and tasted like a frozen ready-made mix with some fresh seafood added on top. But for the price it really isn't possible. And the same song played through the speakers the entire evening. I had a real headache. The sangria was good and I would have liked to have another one. But unfortunately I couldn't stand it anymore with the same song over and over again and was happy when we could leave again. Addendum @El Mundo: We only ate half of the paella. This should give a reason to think. We also told the waitress that the paella didn't taste good. The way you react to negative criticism is very ridiculous. Don't worry, we won't be back 🙋🏼‍♀️

Something went wrong, after dinner I had food poisoning with vomiting and severe stomach pain. I find the price-performance ratio unreasonable. And unfortunately the food didn't meet my taste either.

We've been waiting here for an hour for our food. We haven't seen any service staff since then. After more than 90 minutes the food arrived... The taste was very good... service quality was poor. The waiter doesn't even recognize the Cabernet Sauvignon...even though it's on the menu.

Wir waren seit langer Zeit mal wieder in diesem Restaurant, das spanische Spezialitäten anbietet, jedoch seit einiger Zeit von einem Nicht-Spanier betrieben wird. Leider war der Besuch enttäuschend. Besonders negativ fiel die Schinkenplatte auf, die völlig überteuert war. Für den hohen Preis erhielt man zwei Sorten Schinken mit jeweils 6 kleinen Scheiben die trocken waren, sich bereits wellten und absolut nicht frisch schmeckten. Auch früher war diese Platte nicht preiswert, aber die Qualität war dementsprechend hervorragend. Insgesamt war die Qualität des Essens nicht wie wir sie gewohnt waren und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis unverschämt. Lediglich der Wein und die freundliche Bedienung rettete den Abend.

Exzellent. Brot mit Ajoli leicht und genau passend abgeschmeckt, Paella super lecker, Service gut, Grappa sehr gut, Sangria nicht süß. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und würden gerne wieder kommen. Rheinländer auf Städtereisen

Unfortunately the service was absolutely amateurish. Despite few visitors, we waited ages to receive the bill. Food OK, but portion smaller than a child's portion. Not recommended for the price. Bring a large wallet and not a lot of hunger.

The selection is sufficient even without tapas, but very expensive for the size of the portion. It was tasty, but there is definitely a lot that can be improved. The burger buns were rock hard. The greeting from the kitchen was nice and tasted good too. The tables are too narrow...you have to push past some of the chairs, which isn't so nice for the guests sitting there. It was well attended and our friends enjoy going there. Maybe it's just not for me.

Unfortunately, they didn't get along well with our larger group on site. A lot of things were forgotten at first, then some things arrived super late and there was no second round of drinks because no one came to the table. But my food was very tasty!

The ambience and service keep what they promise. The tapas are sometimes the simplest (frozen) goods, but are all the more expensive and not lovingly prepared. I question whether the frying oil was fresh after our stomach problems afterwards.

We were there on Saturday. All in all average. The ambience including music and staff is not really Spanish. Our table was far too small for tapas. We only had 6 pieces, but more wouldn't have fit on the table. Then we ordered, among other things, olives and bread with aioli, This was then served to us as a “greeting from the kitchen”. When I complained, it was brought back again. Nicely not charged, but clearly too small for the price and the portion of fried zucchini was far too big for tapas. And the mushrooms are way too expensive. All in all, not recommended. Unfortunately, the restaurant is so small that you sit almost everywhere near the door, which is not nice in the colder months.

Highly recommended for anyone who likes Spanish cuisine

If you want to eat Spanish in Erfurt, you can recommend this address. The menu is clear, prices per person are in the middle and sometimes higher, e.g. B. Meat dishes. My choice fell on the tapas plate with 5 different dishes. I was happy with that and full afterwards. My summary...go there, test it, eat it, decide for yourself. As we all know, taste is individual.

Unfortunately, I had a bit of bad luck with the pork fillet. Unfortunately, the tendon on two pieces wasn't cut properly and so it wasn't a fillet piece. The tables are also kept quite small for tapas. Service was very good, friendly and hardworking. I can only judge the food I had and therefore only 3 stars. My husband ate sea bream and it was super juicy and translucent... simply delicious.

Since we were in the mood for Spanish food, we wanted to try the El Mundo restaurant. I had reserved a few days for this by telephone. After we were seated it took 15 minutes until we got a card, a second one couldn't be given to us because there weren't any left. A total of 2 hours passed until we had our starter, a cold gazpacho. Other guests experienced the same thing. We were given the wrong food for a short time or waited a very long time. In the meantime, I considered leaving the restaurant and going somewhere else to eat. Apparently we had a bad Saturday evening. We decided against tapas. Probably a mistake. Fries as a side dish to the main course could not be exchanged for small potatoes because, according to the waitress, the kitchen probably wouldn't do it anyway. Otherwise the chicken in gravy and vegetables was disappointing and mediocre. Overall, it wasn't a successful evening, which also ended with fists and stomach aches. We won't come back. A pity.

Delicious tapas and good service. We felt good. I found the aioli and baked milk very tasty.

We reserved a table and had tuna tartare and salmon tartare, which were very good. Unfortunately we also had the highly praised stuffed champions, which unfortunately didn't taste good at all and the minced meat was inferior, 3 pieces for €9.50. Wir waren zur Premiere von „Rusalka“ im Theater und hatten für 22Uhr Essen bestellen können, obwohl eigentlich Küchenschluss bereits 21:30h wäre. Aber wie das an Premierenabenden so ist: 22:25h waren wir erst im Restaurant und rechneten schon mit hochgezogenen Augenbrauen des Servicepersonals und weiter knurrendem Magen bei uns. Weit gefehlt! Wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend bedient, unser Essen wurde FRISCH zubereitet und schmeckte super. Mit Selbstverständlichkeit wurden wir gefragt, ob es schmeckt und wir weitere Wünsche hätten- das Restaurant schließt eigentlich 23Uhr!!! Was kann man also als Fazit sagen: Danke, danke, danke!🙏 Im „El Mundo“ ist der Gast König und hier wird Gastronomie noch mit Herzblut betrieben!

Spanish delicacies! Always worth a visit.

A nice, small, Spanish restaurant in the old town of Erfurt. We tried the tapas and were very satisfied. The owner is Spanish and is very accommodating. Gladly again and again.

I love the shop. The tapas are awesome and I could indulge in the aioli. The ambience is nice. The women's toilets have some great everyday helpers like tampons and deodorant. Personally, I always find it very accommodating. Unfortunately there is a corner where there is always a bit of a draft, but I just avoid sitting there. Anyway, my favorite restaurant in Erfurt.

El Mundo is a great restaurant with Spanish cuisine at the fish market in Erfurt, easily accessible by tram. Great modern atmosphere. Not too loud. Nice service. The selection of dishes is great, there is something for everyone. As starters we had the dates wrapped in ham, the fried cheese with cranberry jam and the bread with alioli. Starters were very tasty, main courses were also very tasty and freshly prepared. My chicken with mushroom sauce was perfect, the beef fillet was perfectly medium, and the sea bream I ordered was filleted as a whole fish right at the table by a waitress upon request. Dessert, the Crema Catalana, was also very tasty. Prices are a bit higher but justified, we were very satisfied.

Eure Entscheidung, einen original italienischen Koch zu engagieren, ist wirklich ein Volltreffer. Die Gerichte sind nicht nur authentisch italienisch, sondern sie entführen die Sinne auf eine unvergleichliche Reise durch die kulinarische Vielfalt Italiens. Jeder Bissen ist ein Geschmackserlebnis und spiegelt die Leidenschaft des Kochs für die traditionelle italienische Küche wider. Was euren Charme ausmacht, geht weit über die exquisite Küche hinaus. Die herzliche Atmosphäre und das liebevoll gestaltete Ambiente machen jeden Besuch zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Eure Gastfreundschaft ist einfach großartig! Weltbestes Aioli!! Ein Essen kam leider nicht perfekt, wurde jedoch prompt sehr freundlich und professionell korrigiert. Unbedingt ausprobieren, sehr empfehlenswert! :))

Das Essen ist fantastisch, die Auswahl hervorragend. Das Personal war freundlich aber unkoordiniert. Unser Essen kam nicht gleichzeitig. Das hat es uns ein Stück weit verdorben.

Essen: lecker und teuer. Service: unfreundliche Bedinung (weiblich). Ich finde bei dem Preis sollte alles stimmen. Bei der Frage, ob sie mir den Rest einpacken könne wurde sie dann noch unfreundlicher als sie ohnehin schon war. Ich hab mich gar nicht getraut noch etwas zu fragen. Zu allem Überfluss hatte ich dann noch ein Haar in meinem Essen, welches ich mitgenommen habe.

El servicio y atención es bueno. Comida española auténtica en Erfurt en especial Las papas arrugas con mojó Picón. También la Sangría esta muy buena. Y las hamburguesas también están bastante buenas. Es recomendable para comer buena comida española

Heerlijk gegeten, mooie gerechten, prettige bediening.

Wir haben einen großen Tapasteller für zwei zum mitnehmen bestellt. Beim Abholen, hieß es, wir hätten nur einen Teller für eine Person bestellt. Sie könnten uns aber zwei mal den Teller für eine Person mitgeben. Das Essen war ein Witz. Für 60€ bekamen wir Kartoffeln, einen Riesen Haufen Paprika, ein paar frittierte Bällchen und ein paar fettige Würstchen. Die zwei Saucen waren nur ein Mal in kleiner Menge vorhanden. Mit spanischen Tapas hatte es geschmacklich wenig zu tun…

Einmal und nie wieder. Haben knapp 1,5h auf unser Essen gewartet. Als es kam war die Enttäuschung groß. Das Steak voll mit Fasern und damit ungenießbar. Der Lachs war trocken und minimalistisch für knapp 30 Euro. Unser Kellner hat kaum ein Wort deutsch gesprochen und trotz Hinweis darauf, dass es sich um einen Jahrestag handelte, wurde lediglich einen Tischdecke auf den Tisch gelegt.

The drink that I've ordered was superb but not a good service! After I was finished the staff didn't show up any more for me, but for the other guests! I just enjoyed my drink and left!

Tolle Mannschaft, schnell und immer freundlich. Die Tapas waren sehr lecker, der Wein eine sehr gute Empfehlung. Wenn wir wieder in Erfurt sind, kommen wir auch gerne wieder vorbei.
