Great Spanish restaurant with very good food and great service! Everything is tasty here and there is something for everyone. We come back every year and are always satisfied.

Went here after going to somewhere else that didn't do food on Sundays. This lovely Spanish restaurant was recommended as an alternative. As I was alone, I always get nervous. The waitress was really friendly and welcoming. Made me feel really comfortable. The food was wonderful and the customer service was brilliant. To note for any UK people, cash only, as only specific cards (German/EU) accepted. Ended up talking to two guys, who offered to help with my bill and I could PayPal them the money, if I didn't have enough cash on me. Realised it was time to leave as would have been talking for far too long, after a busy weekend, it was time to close the restaurant.

No reservation, but tried very hard to find a place for us. The food, fabulous. Best tapas restaurant with great price/performance ratio. Small menu is always great. Small restaurant. Very, very nice and courteous staff. Since we weren't able to try all the delicacies and enjoyed the service and atmosphere, we'll definitely come back!

Very tasty homemade tapas. Plenty of stuff in the bowls. People still really cook with “Fuego” here. Friendly waiters and delicious Spanish beer. Definitely coming back again.

"Hola!", "Hola!" El Jamon, a tapas restaurant in the Luisenviertel. The friendly service staff recommends the Tapas la Galicia. These 'little things' are all fried and served with lemon and an aioli dip. On the platter are: octopus (prepared Galician style), small Spanish green peppers, two crab skewers and anchovies. For dessert: The Spanish specialty - Crema Catalana with a firm, caramelized sugar layer. This is broken up with a handle spoon, an acoustic delight. A hot, spicy, aromatic cappuccino accompanies the Spanish cream. The motto here is: "El amor entra por la cocina." Guests can brush up on their Spanish language skills here, with the service staff patiently and attentively correcting guests' language and speaking attempts. The evening becomes a lingual culinary experience.

The service and the food are great. 5 stars for both... What I personally found very unpleasant: after less than two hours we were asked how we wanted to pay, so we were basically "kicked out"... We would have liked to spend some more time there, but that wasn't possible ... A note about limited time would be good when making the reservation...

We always enjoyed eating at El Jamón. However, on our last visit we realized that the price/performance ratio was no longer quite right. Yes, a good Spaniard was never really cheap and yes, it has become more expensive everywhere. Nevertheless, we think the price development here is already very strong. We can warmly recommend the restaurant to all visitors who don't care about that... but we'll wait for the next visit.

We looked forward to our first visit here for days. Unfortunately not so enthusiastic. Price-performance isn't quite right for us. It's tasty, but not enough for the price. Service partly inattentive. Maybe we'll give it a second chance to check the result ;)

The best Spaniard in town, cramped, cozy, loud, friendly service and, most importantly: very tasty food! Whether tapas or paella, everything is freshly prepared, well seasoned and plentiful. My absolute favorite: prawns in lobster cream sauce!

Top tapas. Luckily we had reserved a table beforehand.

Authentically Spanish. A range of drinks that you rarely find so extensive. The menu of dishes is small, and that's just right. Fresh, lovingly and portioned just right.

The food and service is top. Only the place is too small and therefore loud, you have to like it. It was nothing for us because we couldn't talk to the other person, we could only scream.

I ate there yesterday and was very impressed. Great service and lovely fresh tapas that all tasted really good. The restaurant is small and a bit cramped, so the noise level may not be suitable for a romantic candlelight dinner ;-) But I really liked the lively atmosphere and will come back. Gracias :-)

small, fine Spanish restaurant...in the heart of the Luisenviertel in Wuppertal Elberfeld. The kitchen is great, the drinks are good and the service is very friendly and quick. Reservation is mandatory... there are two meal times 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.... If I'm in Wuppertal again I'll definitely come back. Keep it up!

No matter how their food tastes, if you book a table 7 days in advance for 4 people with a dog and then have trouble getting to the table on the evening of the event, you would have to love the charm of overcrowded regional trains. We left and I certainly won't give a thought to ever wanting to go there again. The apology of the certainly untrained service staff, “unfortunately the planned table didn't work and if that doesn't work we'd be happy to leave, no offense meant.” That's NOT a true gastronomy experience!!

Sehr leckere Tapas. Sehr zu empfehlen: die Schnecken nach Art des Hauses. Sehr ordentlicher Rioja! Urgemütliches Ambiente. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Das Lokal ist an Wochenenden sehr frequentiert. Reservierung empfiehlt sich!

Das Restaurant El Jamón serviert eine sehr gute Auswahl an verschiedenen Tapas und Hauptgerichten. Insbesondere hervorzuheben ist hierbei, meint Meinung nach, dass die Auswahl sehr ausgewogen ist. Es gibt für jeden Geschmack hinreichend Auswahl. Sei es Fisch, Fleisch oder auch vegetarisch. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist hervorragend. Die Qualität der Speisen für mich absolut in Ordnung. Das Restaurant ist relativ klein, was aber auch seinen Charme ausmacht. Sicherlich kann es hier, insbesondere am Wochenende, auch mal recht laut zugehen. Ob dies störend ist, muss jeder für sich entscheiden. Für mich ist es nicht relevant. Der Service ist sehr gut auch wenn mal etwas länger warten muss, wenn es voll ist.

Ein recht kleines Restaurant mit einer sehr aufmerksamen und super freundlichen Crew. Die überschaubare Größe macht das El Jamón aber auch sehr gemütlich. Das Essen ist alle Sterne wert. Wer es ausprobieren möchte, sollte auf jeden Fall vorher reservieren.

Endlich mal echte typische spanische Tapas, sehr netter Service und preis-Leistung ist hier absolut top!

Tolles Tapas-Lokal! Aufmerksamer Service, sehr leckere Tapas, schönes Ambiente-da wird das Essen zum Erlebnis. Unbedingt reservieren. Die Lokalität ist klein aber fein!

Es gibt eine schöne Auswahl an Tapas. Außer dieser leider nicht wirklich etwas auf der Karte.

Das Essen war fantastisch und auch das Ambiente war gut. Leider tauchten auf unserer Rechnung mehrere! Posten auf, die wir nicht bestellt und auch nicht verzehrt hatten. Diese wurden auf Nachfrage zwar anstandslos entfernt, allerdings ohne eine Entschuldigung oder sonstigen Kommentar. So blieb trotz des eigentlich sehr schönen Abends leider eine leichte unschöne Note zurück.

Das Essen war super, die Bedienung freundlich und das Lokal super süß... Ich komme definitiv wieder. Vielen Dank ❤️

Für mich ist das El Jamon das beste spanische Restaurant in Wuppertal. Seit Jahren finde ich es dort überaus lecker, mit einem tollen Service. Ich liebe das Hühnchen in Hummersauce.

Es befindet sich in der Innenstadt. Wünschenswert wäre, ein etwas frischeres Bort. Die Pilze waren hervorragend zubereitet.

Für unseren Geschmack, dass beste spanische Essen in der Stadt.

Sensationelle Tapas, superfreundliche Bedienung. Erste Klasse.....wir kommen aus Bonn und El Jamon ist eine Reise wert! Wir kommen wieder.

Seit vielen vielen Jahren sind wir hier begeisterte Stammgäste, tolle Atmosphäre, super leckere Tapas.... die einzige Kritik die -offen und ehrlich gesagt- anzumerken wäre, ist die die an der "Einhausung" der Außenterrasse mittels Baumarktlatten und weißer Abdeckfolie...hoffentlich ist das nur eine Zwischenlösung, ansonsten wäre das sehr schade für das ansonsten perfekte Ambiente...

Sehr leckere spanische Tapas. Freundliche Bedienung und große Portionen. Wir haben beim Bezahlen leider etwas auf den Service gewartet, das Restaurant war allerdings auch sehr voll.
