El Greco in Regen

Der Kellner mit den grauen Locken-Vokuhila, eine Laune wie im Kellner, Respektloses Kopfschütteln bekamen wir als Antwort auf die Frage ob er uns die Tische draussen nach einem kurzen Regen abwischen könnte. Ich würde ihm raten den Job zu wechseln und ärztliche Hilfe aufzusuchen. Sowas auf zahlende Leute loszulassen ist fast schon fahrlässig.

Ich bin mittlerweile 67 Jahre alt und bin dementsprechend oft in verschiedenen Restaurants gegangen. Soetwas unfreundliches habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Angeblich wechselt der Pächter und geht in sein Heimatland zurück. GUTE ENTSCHEIDUNG Nachtrag: Ich war um 16:45 Uhr am Lokal. Es ist richtig das mir gesagt wurde das das Lokal erst um 17 Uhr öffnet und noch Vorbereitungen zu erledigen seien. Ich sagte das ich dies verstehe und natürlich auch solange warten würde. In der Zwischenzeit stellte ich wegen der Anzahl meiner Bekannten einen Tisch zusammen. Dann wurde mir gesagt, wenn nicht soviel Gäste kommen würden, solle ich gefälligst den Tisch zurüstellen. Da macht wohl der Ton die Stimmung aus. Schließlich setzte sich der Wirt am Tisch vor dem Eingangsbereich und verspeist eine Portion Eis. Soviel zur Vorbereitung.

Wir waren im EL Greco in Regen und sind begeistert. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist ruhig und gemütlich. Man kann dort entspannt essen und sich wohlfühlen. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das sehr freundliche Personal, das aufmerksam und herzlich ist. Der Fisch war hervorragend zubereitet und die Fleischplatte ein echter Genuss, geschmacklich einfach top. Wer gute griechische Küche in angenehmer Umgebung sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Restaurant nur empfehlen!

Griechische gemütliche Atmosphäre und sehr schmackhaftes Essen bei schnellem Service und sehr freundlich.

Essen war schnell da und hat gut geschmeckt. Service des älteren Inhabers (?) aber sehr lustlos. Wollten letztendlich bezahlen und würden mit der Rechnung noch 20min sitzen gelassen bevor abkassiert wurde. Preise offenbar auch knackig erhöht (Gyrosteller 2023 noch 9,50€, mittlerweile stolze 17€).

Wirkliche Empfehlung. Essen verdammt lecker und Wartezeit echt überraschend gering, obwohl das Lokal rappelvoll war. Kommen sicher wieder.

Wir waren wieder mal mit Freunden dort. Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Es ist gemütlich. Und jetzt freuen wir uns schon auf den ersten warmen Abend, dann lockt ein Sitzplatz im Freien.

Das Restaurant ist typisch griechisch eingerichtet und gemütlich. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Portionen sehr ordentlich. Auch das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen gerne wieder, sollte uns unser Urlaub wieder mal in die Gegend bringen.

Sehr guter Service, entspannte Atmosphäre und ein wunderschönes Interieur im griechischen Stil. Es ist sehr schön und gemütlich. Die Preise sind gut und die Speisekarte bietet eine große Auswahl. Es werden auch kleine Desserts serviert, was wohl als nette Geste gilt. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Komme unbedingt wieder.

die kalten Vorspeisen sind Klasse. Zum Würzen wäre vielleicht neben Salz und Pfeffer auch Chilli gut. Trotzdem weit und breit ein gutes Restaurant

Essen war sehr lecker und der Service super.

Super griechisches Restaurant. Wir kommen seit Jahren immer wieder gerne hier hin. Das Essen ist super geschmackvoll und schnell serviert. Der Salat davor ist ebenfalls obligatorisch und frisch. Vor und nach dem Essen gibt es einen Ouzo aufs Haus. Es lohnt sich vor 18.00 Uhr zu kommen danach wird es voll.

Mittlerweile wieder eine ausgezeichnete Küche. Wir waren heute dort um mein Gebutstagsessen zu genießen. Alle Speisen vorzüglich und gut gewürzt. Endlich mal ein zatziki das auch nach Knoblauch schmeckt. Das Fleisch zart gebraten. Immer wieder gerne.

The waiter with the long, wavy hair was incredibly unfriendly, didn't know how to say hello, and clearly lacked basic manners. We were a group of 14. Our drink order wasn't taken for over half an hour. Our food arrived after 1.5 hours, and one dish was completely forgotten. There wasn't even an apology. The food was mediocre, but thanks to this "service," I absolutely cannot recommend it. The medium rump steak was a bloody, flattened piece of meat. The squid was very tough.

Best Greek restaurant!! We were there for the first time yesterday and will definitely be back, even if we're only here on vacation. The service was always nice and friendly. The food was simply delicious and seasoned, just like you'd expect from a Greek restaurant. My highlight was the homemade tiropitakia.

Today it was very quick at lunchtime, and we were very pleased. Thank you very much.

I can tell you, it's great in Regen. There were four of us, and everyone really enjoyed the food. The dessert was also delicious. The staff were very friendly, the plates were full, and the prices were reasonable. I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much, keep up the good work!

Greek restaurant where review of food quality can not be done as during Friday evening when capacity was max 50% full we were not allowed to order even drinks for Kids. Arogant Long hair waiter refered to Regen service rather then Greek one. Never more wasting time in this place. Feedback of operator is full of lies sign of service quality. We asked for tablet for 4 and it was stated that we can sit down however after 35 mins we were not allowed to order drinks even for Kids. Level of patience is different in different places correct. Never more !

We're here on vacation because we read the reviews, and they were more positive than negative. We drove from Bodenmais to Regen. I wouldn't do it again. The waiter was rather lackluster, and the food was cold when it arrived at the table. The salad was okay, edible. My son's fries had no salt. The presentation was appetizing, but unfortunately, I've never had such a bad meal at a Greek restaurant. All in all, Not again.

The meat was good quality, but unfortunately, everything was served cold. The side salad was a disaster, simply chopped iceberg lettuce with no flavor. The waiter was very friendly.

We've been there several times, as the food was always incredibly good. The staff was always rather grumpy and seemed listless. The last three visits, however, were a complete disaster... Salad had no flavor at all...it was a pre-made salad from a bag with rotten bits... The food came quickly but was also unseasoned and therefore completely tasteless... We wanted another drink, which we had told the waiters several times, but we didn't get anything. After asking to pay, and after another reminder, an hour passed before the manager even bothered to talk to us...unfriendly and listless as ever... Silverilocks probably doesn't need it anymore. We're definitely not coming back. Unfortunately, you have to give it one star to post, which is completely unjustified.

A nice change from typical German restaurants. We had a lovely time on the terrace on a summer evening in early August. The service was excellent, especially when empty glasses and plates were cleared quickly. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and it was definitely enough after an active day. Recommended if you're looking for something a little different from typical German food.

We always enjoy coming back. For us, this is the best Greek restaurant. Once at Mykonos and once at Poseidon. Plus, pita with tzatziki 🤤

The two of us went to the Greek restaurant again. We received a warm welcome and were seated without a reservation. The obligatory ouzo on the house arrived promptly with the menu. I highly recommend the food. It was tasty and plenty for us. The waiters were very attentive and frequently stopped by the table to see if anything was needed, without being intrusive. El Greco in Regen impresses with delicious Greek food – the gyro was particularly excellent! It was very busy, which speaks volumes about the quality, but the service remained friendly and fast. We'd be happy to go back!

I was here on Easter Monday 2025. The service was friendly and the decor looks nice. I had feta cheese for starters, rice noodles with meat for the main course, and Greek yogurt for dessert. The presentation of all dishes was excellent, but all three dishes had one thing in common: they tasted relatively "unspectacular." By no means bad, but nothing so good or "special" that I would visit the restaurant again.

We just came here for the first time. The staff were fantastic, polite and attentive but not intrusive. The food was fresh, high quality, and beautifully presented. We started with a delicious ouzo with an olive and a small pot of panna cotta for dessert. Very attentive. We'd love to come back.

We're currently sitting on the terrace, and despite the beautiful weather, we got a seat without a reservation. We had special requests for drinks, which were fulfilled without a fuss. The food was delicious. Keep up the good work, thank you for everything.

No ifs and buts, everything is fine

Very delicious food. The salmon was particularly good. The gyros, feta cheese, and tzatziki were also very tasty. The service was attentive and unobtrusive, very pleasant. Prices were reasonable. As a welcome treat, the kitchen served delicious olives, followed by a mini dessert on the house. We were completely satisfied and full.

Went for lunch with the whole family. It was perfect, very quick, and delicious. We sat outside with a view of the market and the mountains. Top notch.

Absolutely fantastic service. My special recommendation is the baked eggplant.

No We were there for dinner after 8 p.m. and probably only got the last leftovers from the pots. The eggplant was overcooked until mushy, and a teaspoon of feta cheese crumbs were sprinkled on top. Baked potatoes with 1 tablespoon of tzatziki and leftover salad draped around the potatoes...that's how the plate was filled. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend it. It would be better to say we want to close the kitchen or that something is out.

We recently visited the restaurant and had mixed experiences. The El Greco platter was unfortunately disappointing - the meat was very tough and the tzatziki was completely forgotten. The gyros with cheese gratin was also anything but appetizing: the “cheese” was more reminiscent of a creamy, watery sauce, which even made two people sick. What should be highlighted positively, however, is the pike perch, which was excellently prepared and tasted convincing. The boss was accommodating afterwards and offered us drinks on the house - a friendly move that we really appreciated. Overall, the visit was mixed - with room for improvement, especially when it comes to the quality and care of some of the dishes.

Ordered food to pick up. But I wasn't finished after the stated time and had to wait another 20 minutes in the restaurant! When we arrived home a complete item was missing. Court. I got the dish, but had to drive forever and the service is also... not great!

The food just tasted bland. Hardly seasoned. The meat from the gyro was so hard, sometimes flaxy. Dressing on the salad also left a lot to be desired! All in all, no longer recommended. It used to be a really good, recommended restaurant!

Reserved this evening and super dissatisfied!! The service was simply non-existent!!! The food was delivered quickly. My partner had the 102 which was delicious. I salt the 123, bitter, shaft! (which wasn't visible on the map) Internet and map prices do not match! 🧐 Sitting in front of an empty aperitif glass for 30 minutes isn't particularly good either. I wasn't even asked whether everything fit or whether something was needed. I would have liked to have made my criticism personally when paying. That's not my style of writing a recession like this. But here too, they didn't even ask if everything was okay, they didn't even look you in the face, let alone look you in the eyes! For us tonight was a complete failure. We go home hungry. ☹️ We would have liked to have had dessert but with such service I would rather leave my money in my wallet.

We spontaneously went to eat at El Greco as part of our vacation and it was very good! Nice owners and employees, great food for a fair price and a beautifully decorated restaurant. We would be happy to come back when we are in the region again.

We come here once a week and love it every time! The food is always excellent - especially the Acropolis plate and the gratinated gyros are to die for. Added to this is the great ambience and friendly service, which makes the visit perfect. A clear recommendation for anyone who loves Greek cuisine!

It was our first time there and all of the 4 dishes were delicious. The tomato rice is as it should be, gyros are crispy and the service is great!

As always, I ordered the same dish, souflaki with sheep's cheese. Unfortunately, as you can see in my picture, it's not sheep's cheese, it's just a strange packet of sauce. The boss himself was friendly but his waiter with the long hair wasn't in the mood for anything like that. The ambience is nice, but the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. It's a shame... we won't be coming anymore.

Hello We are guests in Regen and came across El Greco by chance. A wonderfully clean restaurant, with excellent service. My special request of a few olives for the tarama was not forgotten and was taken into account without any problems. The food was excellent, plenty and of the best quality. We were there today and actually have nothing to complain about. The service was quick and the food was very good and prepared quickly, we didn't have to wait long except for the drinks it took a little longer but otherwise everything was great. We cannot understand the negative reviews.

There's never anything to complain about the food, but the service is often arrogant - I understand that there's stress here with lots of visitors and few staff, which is certainly difficult, but a small apology or "We'll be there for you in a moment" would be nice already nice. I'm afraid that since there is no competition here, it will stay that way... The very young man was particularly nice, you would have liked to help him, so he tried hard and rushed 🤗 And no, there were 4 of us, we paid for the two of us and we didn't have a birthday at the table either 😉

We were there today with a very short-term reservation. The food was great, service was friendly and very quick, we really liked it and will come back. Clear recommendation!

We reserved a place for 7 people at 7 p.m. and were at our seats outside at 7:05 p.m. where there were only 6 chairs. At 7:37 p.m. the waiter came to our table after explicit requests to take the order. I've never had to wait that long to place an order. At 7:56 p.m. the appetizers arrived but the drinks were still missing. The drinks arrived at 8:04 p.m. The salads arrived at 8:15 p.m. We received our main courses at 8:39 p.m. All in all, you can say that huge praise goes to the kitchen. The food was excellent. No matter whether starters, meat or seafood. There was a lettuce stalk in the salad twice, which definitely had no place in it, but oh well. But as good as the food was, the service from the waiters was just as bad. You shouldn't let guests wait for half an hour without taking an order. Bringing drinks only after 60 minutes is a disgrace. A meal with highs and long lows.

Unfortunately, good service leaves a lot to be desired. Only after a good 45 minutes and asking the boss/waiter (who wasn't friendly at all) did we get our drinks. After 1.5 hours the starter finally arrived and shortly afterwards the main courses. At that time it was already dark and we only got a table lamp when we asked, otherwise we wouldn't even have seen the food. It's a real shame but you can't give more than one star for this evening...

We've been going there off and on for a long time. But now it will temporarily be the last time. The food was cold. The meat was really fatty and tough. And what's more, only after more than an hour at the table. Not to mention the fact that I wasn't even full for 17 euros. When the waiter with the long hair asked us how the food was and I explained it to him, he just said “okay” and left. No apology, no explanation and nothing. I would have preferred to give no star at all for the food. The only good thing was the ouzo before and the pana cotta after. Therefore two stars.

You sit forever until you can place an order. Even if you want the bill, you wait forever until you can even tell someone. Food, well, I know better Greeks, and the price is not justified for the quantity.

Very tasty food with good price-performance ratio

We spontaneously came here for dinner on a Sunday and had a lovely evening. The outdoor terrace is large and inviting, the service was quick and the food was very tasty. A recommendation even with children in Regen.

Wir hatten für 19:30 h 4 Plätze reserviert, bekamen im Freien einen sehr schönen Tisch zugewiesen und freuten uns auf einen schönen Abend. Das Lokal war gut besucht. Die Außen -Tische waren voll belegt, innen im Lokal waren so gut wie alle Tische frei. Um 19:50 konnten wir bestellen und hatten 10 Minuten später die Getränke. Um 20:15 monierten wir zum ersten Mal unsere Bestellung. Um 20:25 monierten wir zum zweiten Mal unsere Bestellung. Um 20:40 bekamen wir die Beilagensalate. Wir monierten zwei weitere Male. Inzwischen war es dunkel geworden und es wurde eine Tischlampe gebracht. 21 h war schon vorbei, als endlich unser Essen kam. Unfreundlicher Kellner, keine Erklärung, keine Entschuldigung. Die Fleischspieße und das Souflaki tot gebraten und völlig trocken. Das Gyros gerade noch akzeptabel. Zum Ausgleich die Pommes frites triefend von Fett und nicht genießbar. Der Reis kalt und lasch im Geschmack. Die Rechnung zu viert 93 €. Einmal und nie wieder.

Never experienced such bad service! You feel like a troublemaker...absolutely reluctant to be served, no demand for a second drink let alone dessert. We returned home half thirsty and very upset.

Dies ist das schlechteste griechische Restaurant, das ich jemals besucht habe. Der Wirt hatte keinerlei Interesse daran, unserer höflichen Frage nach vegetarischen Gerichten entgegenzukommen.

Friendly and quick service. Delicious dishes and additions from the host. Apparently very popular in Regen, prime location, already very busy on a Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Outside terrace is great. It's better to reserve it for "outside" on a warm and beautiful day.

A failure Right at the beginning we noticed a large wasp's nest on the frames of the neighboring table (which of course nobody can do anything about) and pointed it out to the waitress. Instead of thanking us and moving us around, she just said: It wasn't there yet at lunchtime. Placing our order was very difficult - even though it wasn't busy. The service was slow and forgetful. We had to ask several times for cutlery and napkins, for example. The warm appetizer platter consisted of several small appetizers that - or so we thought - were spread across two plates. The bill included two appetizers, which was probably a mistake on the part of the waitress, as one was not intended for us but for the neighboring table. The waiter blamed us for not letting them go back. Apart from the fact that we didn't know it, there could have been a wink given that the tip was given anyway. The food is of medium quality. Good souvlaki, salad boring and sauce non-Greek. We won't be coming back.

Good Greek cuisine and delicious gyros.

We are here on vacation. We called on the spur of the moment and got a reservation straight away. We were warmly welcomed and the order was taken quickly. The starter came very quickly, but the skin course didn't take long either. The food was very tasty. We had 4 different dishes and everything was great. The service was good, the waitresses were super friendly. If we are in the area again, we would be happy to come back.

I was the only person cycling in the region and wanted to treat myself to a proper meal after the strenuous cycling. For this I looked for the restaurant el greco. The reviews and food on Google Maps looked good. When I entered the restaurant everything was full and I told the boss that I was alone and would like to eat something. He just told me to wait 2 minutes and he came out of the back area with a table where I was allowed to sit alone. The boss set up a table especially for me. Where else is there a service like this? To eat I ordered a Corfu plate (see pictures). First there was a very tasty salad. I can recommend the restaurant without reservation. The food and service are first class.

We made a reservation at short notice and received a very friendly welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The drinks and food were served quickly and were delicious.
