A great place for Greek food in Heinsberg. In summer, we recommend eating outside in the garden or courtyard. A small drawback is that some dishes don't come with tzatziki. El Greco has been a favorite for us for years.

Gyros are well-seasoned, but so greasy, yuck, and the crust is overly burnt. I've had much better gyros elsewhere. The cutlery was poor. The knife had a hard time cutting through it. Tzatziki is good, though. If you want mayonnaise or ketchup or something with your fries, you get two bags of each type on a saucer for €1 each. Whatever you don't use, you just pay. I won't see them again.

Very good Greek food, but... Let's just say something is wrong. This restaurant is not recommended in very hot weather! We were sitting inside in the 32-degree weather. But there's no cooling at all. No fan, nothing, let alone air conditioning. This is not good and a missed opportunity. It made for a very unpleasant experience. Actually, I should have given it one star less. But because the food (we've been there nine times now) is so consistently high quality and the price is reasonable, it still gets a solid five stars. The food here is superb! Definitely one of the best Greek restaurants.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing visit. We were there with a large group (about 16 people) for a birthday party at 6:00 PM. Unfortunately, the table wasn't set up for the number of people we ordered, and it was far too crowded, which dampened the atmosphere right from the start. The drinks arrived after an eternity. By the time they all arrived, the first beers were already stale, even though we wanted to toast the birthday together. The host had ordered appetizer platters in advance, which arrived after about an hour. They were truly delicious! However, the menus weren't handed out until afterward, and orders for the main courses weren't taken until 7:45 PM. If a group makes a reservation for 6:00 PM, including three small children, and they don't want to be late, this is, quite frankly, completely misleading service—no matter how busy the place is. Drinks were repeatedly forgotten, brought very late, or brought incorrectly. Gyros with fries (€17.90) come with tzatziki, suvlaki with fries (€17.90) comes with tzatziki, and with the Hermes plate (gyros, suvlaki, and fries - €18.90), you have to order the tzatziki for an extra €5.50. A wild concept… The main courses, which didn't arrive until well after 8:00 PM, were okay but unfortunately couldn't compete with the starters. The restaurant itself is cozy and attractively decorated, but that's not enough to warrant us going back. What a shame.

Well-kept ambiance, large parking lot. This restaurant has been one of our favorites for years. We won't be going back anytime soon. We had two fish plates at €29.00 each, consisting of four calamari rings, two shrimp, one small piece of salmon, and a very meager plaice with cold rice and lukewarm vegetables. After complaining about the cold side dishes, we were served microwaved vegetables with cold rice. The vegetables were tasteless (beans, carrots, broccoli) on the first serving. (cauliflower, carrots, beans) on the second serving. No sauce, no tzatziki, making it all in all a very "dry" meal, even though almost everything came from the deep fryer. We won't be going back this year. Since the restaurant is family-owned, a new generation from Greece will probably try their hand at it next year. It's a shame, because we were always very satisfied, and I'm sorry to have to lower my positive rating from 5 stars. Regarding your comments regarding my review, I only have one thing to say: please check out the reviews on Facebook, Guru, and Trip Advisor. We've had very positive feedback for years, but in recent months, reviews have plummeted everywhere, so I'm not alone in my opinion.

We discovered it by chance and have no regrets... From the friendliness and the great service to the perfectly grilled lamb and squid. This won't be our last visit.

Vandaag geen ouzo vooraf, salade was zeker uit een zakje, 6 stukjes stokbrood bij tzaziki, waren met vier personen, visschotel gegeten waarvan alles op een bord gegooid was en totaal smakeloos. Vroeger hebben wij hier heerlijk gegeten. Nu nooit meer.

We had lunch there. Prompt service, good food, friendly atmosphere. Overall a very positive experience for us. The only small point of criticism or rather note: Some knives have obviously lost their sharpness. Maybe you should take a look there.

It was great again, look at the plates for dishes off the menu, a few photos of some starters, baby squid tubes are missing from the photo, main course off the menu, rump steak, fish dishes after filleting (dorade and sea bass) could not be photographed, was already enjoying the grass-fed Uruguay rump steak, while enjoying a good glass of wine and beer by good and friendly service. Thanks to the chef Athanasios for delicious preparation of the dishes.

This is a great greek restaurant, just outside Heinsberg. The food is great, meat is perfectly baken and personell is very friendly! Definitely a great recommondation!

It's a shame that no one answers the phone during the opening times! “…. We have also been advertising it for weeks.” Really? In 2025 you will no longer go to the gate first to see if it is open. What are the opening times here for? You can also set up a recorded message for callers! The whole thing isn't exactly very customer friendly. You are granted a day off. But you can also COMMUNICATE this! Just leaving the customer on the phone without any information is not in keeping with today's times. It's so easy to pass on this information. Just do it. Oh, sorry. I didn't know you weren't interested in new guests. I won't bother you anymore.

Unfortunately, not such a good experience. The meat had a bland taste, little seasoning. Pork tough. The gyros were ok. Rice plain (no tomato rice djuvec) fries salt. We ask for some mayonnaise, receive several plastic wrapped packets, use 1 of them and are charged 3x €1. Tiramisu swam - Lidl's guess? - Irish coffee weak and Dame Blance had chewy ice-cold chocolate. Given the crowds, we wonder whether the other guests have ever been somewhere else. This must be so much better

After 12 years of loyalty, we unfortunately ate here for the last time last weekend. The price-performance ratio is absolutely no longer right, the dishes are not only becoming more and more expensive, no, the portions are also becoming smaller and smaller. A portion of tzatziki for €5.50 or Metaxa sauce for over €3. Unfortunately, a juice spritzer, i.e. juice, diluted with water for €4.50 (prices not shown on the menu) no longer suit us. We understand that a restaurant has to calculate sensibly, but if the two of us have to spend almost 60 euros on gyros and drinks, we prefer the chip shop. The gyro meat was either burnt, rubbery, or undercooked. The side salad should be christened a salad bouquet; serving it on a separate plate could be saved here. After what felt like 8 minutes, the carelessly prepared plate arrived, BEFORE the drinks. It felt a bit like mass processing in a fast food restaurant. SHAME! Because, as I wrote at the beginning, we enjoyed coming for many years.

There were 6 people there, I ate very well No. 67 and ordered a large portion of tzatziki. So for me it's the best tzatziki I've ever eaten. Very creamy and simply very tasty. The staff was always very accommodating and the food came very quickly

Super tasty Gyros!! Been there many times and will still eat there.

I have to admit that my first impression of the restaurant is rather semi-good. However, it must also be said that we were there on Christmas Day and the restaurant was accordingly full. Nevertheless, it was unbearably loud and it was difficult to hold a conversation. The volume also contributed to it being extremely uncomfortable. Our table was half set and half not (perhaps by the previous guests?) and the waitress forgot to enter our order into the system, which is why we waited over an hour for our food. The drinks were ok. My husband had a blackcurrant spritzer and I had one with pomegranate. My husband's spritzer was delicious but mine had hardly any fizz. Of the three starter salads, only one had pepperoni and the others seemed to forget about it. However, I have to say that the food was really very tasty. The salmon was well prepared and the gyros were lightly toasted and not greasy. The rice was well cooked and still slightly al dente and the (partially incomplete) salad also tasted good and filled us up. All in all, you can probably eat well there, but you should consider which days you visit this restaurant.

We had reservations for 5pm on Christmas Day. When we arrived, guests were queuing outside... the restaurant was completely overbooked... everything was so crowded that you could hardly go to the toilet between the tables. Noise level absolutely unbearable. Our order was also completely forgotten. After almost two hours, food finally arrived. Hair in the salad... Grilled skewer totally pale and far dry... Mini portion of salmon... supposed mustard sauce totally gray and slimy... Grape leaves with minced meat rock hard... Fries mealy... everything completely discounter quality!!! Ambience also underground... bare tables! The only tea light burned out. It would have been more comfortable in the chip shop and the food would have been better. It's outrageous that something like this is expected to come at such a high price at Christmas.

Absolute favorite restaurant! <3 The food is incredibly tasty and high quality. No matter how busy we were, we never had to wait long for our food. The staff is super friendly and helpful, you feel comfortable and welcome here, especially with children. You are great :) We look forward to next time

You had to wait here for over an hour. Other guests who arrived later got their food before us and paid when our food still wasn't there. When you asked, you didn't get an apology, just an unfriendly answer that there was a lot to do at the front. When asked a second time (other staff), they said again unkindly that everything goes in order here. In addition, the wrong drinks arrived and the wrong side dish that you had actually ordered. In the other dish the meat was also forgotten and some of the meat in the other dishes was lukewarm and tough. It doesn't work at all. Totally unfriendly. Not again...

Unfortunately I was not satisfied with the service. The young waiter was very attentive and friendly, but the waitress served me a gyro plate without tzatziki. However, tzatziki is part of a gyro plate without having to order it separately. I had to reorder the missing tzatziki and wait a whole 10 minutes for it. By the time it arrived, my food was already cold and most of the meat had already been eaten. Of course, it can happen that something is forgotten. However, what really upset me was that I was charged €5.20 for the tzatziki I ordered again! Unfortunately I didn't notice this until later on the bill, otherwise I would have addressed it straight away. This disappointing experience left me with no tip and I will probably choose a different Greek restaurant next time.

Great meal, the fish was bomb and the steak was as requested and buttery soft, nice service and nothing was missing. Thanks to Eleni who of course blew me away again with her sight and her friendliness... Always a pleasure

We were allowed to visit with dogs, but were denied entry when we arrived. We also witnessed a loud scene between the owner and an employee regarding this. No thanks, never again. Not recommended

Great ambience, great service and great food

Unfortunately we can't judge the food at all because we waited 2 hours and didn't get any food. Even if there is more going on, you shouldn't keep your guests waiting for 2 hours. When this is brought up, there is no apology for the long wait, instead they give you the bill and tell you to go eat somewhere else because this seems to be normal there. In my opinion the service was terrible, so we left.

The owner and the staff were very friendly, helpful and competent. We all really enjoyed it and we will definitely be happy to come back. We ate there on a Sunday and the Thursday on the following holiday. On both days, although it was well attended, we received a very friendly welcome. The service was very attentive and the food was served quickly. All dishes were excellently prepared and tasted delicious. Price/performance is okay. Parking directly on site. What more could the heart want? Highly recommended.

We were in this restaurant for the first time today. The service and also the food were excellent. Everything was plentiful and very delicious.

It had been a few months since we ate here, which was very tasty at the time. Today's experience was that the service was good but the food was mainly very salty. For all four different dishes this was noticeably salty. Price/quality is good 20,- to 25,- p.p.

It was a really great evening as the food was simply delicious. The meat was of the best quality and buttery soft. The portions were also huge. This was the tastiest Greek food I've had in a long time. The location of the restaurant is perfect. There are plenty of parking spaces there and the restaurant is very modern. The staff was very friendly and quick.

It was nice, the food was tasty, the fish was great, the moussaker was ok, but I wouldn't order it again. The daughter of the house was super nice and accommodating. Zatziki was delicious, gyros tasted good. Going there by bike in the summer and sitting outside was nice.

Wir wollten bei dem schönen Wetter (27,°) im Biergarten speisen. Der Biergarten war abgesperrt (warum?) und man wollte uns (wieder einmal) im engen, kleinen, ungemütlichen Innenhof einen Tisch zwischen Küche direkt am Eingang zuweisen. Hier kommt alle 20 sek. eine Bedienung / Kellner oder ein Gast auf dem Weg zum WC vorbeigerauscht. Es ist wie im Taubenschlag und schlechter kann man eomfach nicht sitzen. Wir haben dann gefragt und keine Erklärung erhalten. Wenn wir mit 2 Personen 75 - 85€ ausgeben, dann wollen wir auch schön und ansprechend sitzen. Da das hier zum wiederholten Mal leider wieder passiert ist, sind wir wieder gegangen. Ich kann es absolut nicht nachvollziehrn, warum ein Restaurantbegreibet seiben schönen Biergarten mit 20 Tischen nicht für die Bewirtung der Gäste nutzt. Ist man zu bequem, draussen einzudecken? Oder hatte man keine Lust, den Außenbereich schön herzurichten? Ich werde es nicht verstehen. Statt dessen quetscht man die 15 Gäste lieber in diesen schrecklichen Innenhof. Danke für NICHTS.

We had booked a table for two people on Sunday evening. After ordering we waited 45 minutes for the starter. When we asked about our order, the waitress wanted to give us the menu again, even though she had taken the order herself. Then she said there was a lot going on and it would be done in order." If you don't have time, you shouldn't go to the restaurant" Neighboring table still not cleaned after 45 minutes. Paid for drinks and then left. This will definitely be our last visit there.

Quality is as usual, but quantity is less, this is especially noticeable in the starters. Glass of ouzo in advance has been reduced to 1/4 glass, this did not look good, they are better than not offering it anymore. The furnishings have changed slightly. There is now modern art in the restaurant. The restaurant is less refined than what it used to be. Tasty food but unfortunately no longer distinctive.

It's been a long time since we've had good Greek food. What I particularly liked was that after the starter we were asked when we wanted the main course. Whether now or after a break. Even the fact that we were the last guests was not noticeable in any way in the service. Food was very tasty across the board. We'd love to come back.

So the portions are very meager and the starters are a disgrace for this price, plus the fact that the meat was very, very dry, it was hardly possible without drinking... Wir waren Silvester hier,haben noch auf dem letzten Drücker einen Tisch für 5 Personen bekommen, das war schon mal absolut super. Das Essen war vorzüglich, es hat einfach alles gepasst,wir haben noch ein paar Tage davon geschwärmt.Das gesamte Personal war super freundlich. Trotzdem das ganze Lokal reichlich gefüllt war, kam keine Spur von Hektik auf,so fühlt man sich wohl.Wir kommen wieder

Das Essen war super! Der Service sehr fix! Aber auch wenn wir heute am 1 Weihnachtstag dort waren, es war extrem voll! Man konnte kaum vom Tisch aufstehen, obwohl in den hinteren Räumen alles frei war. Dann öffnete man selbstständig bei 10 Grad draußen ein Fenster! Da die Luft aufgrund Heizung und ca. 70 Personen auf engsten Raum, unerträglich war! Was umgehend relativ frech vom Personal geahndet wurde. Zudem wird man geduzt, was ein no go ist! Sei es jetzt bei einem 19 jährigen oder einer erwachsenen Frau! Dieses sollte man mal überdenken! Wir kommen gerne wieder.... Aber dann im Sommer, wenn man auch als Lungen krank gut atmen kann! Heute ein spontaner Besuch. Es war einfach top. Die Bedienung sehr nett, das Essen absolut lecker und die Preise völlig ok. Wir empfehlen es gern weiter.

Kinderporion Fritten. Das Gyros ist überhaupt nicht gewürzt.Es wurde zu Hause ALLES in den Müll geworfen. Eine Frechheit sich dafür Geld zu verlangen!!! Und wie können Sie uns zu Hause fragen ob alles in Ordnung ist?? Nicht mal die Katze ist an das Fleisch gegangen!

Gyros hat nichts mit Gyros zu tun, sondern wabbeliges Schweinefleisch ohne Gewürz. Salat ist alt und schwimmt in Öl. Eiergroße Portion Zatiki. Dafür 16,90 Euro! Eine Frechheit! Schämen sollten sie sich! Das ist nicht einmal 1 Stern wert! Nie wieder!

Waren spontan mit 5 Leuten da und haben trotzdem einen Tisch bekommen. Aber 18 Uhr sollte jedoch reserviert werden, da dann einige Leute kommen. Das Personal ist sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Fürs Essen muss man ein wenig Zeit mitbringen, aber dafür ist es wirklich gut. Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Sehr bemüht um Freundlichkeit. Es war ziemlich leer an diesem Mittwoch Abend. Das Fleisch war nicht richtig gebraten. Sogar das Lammfilet war trocken. Wem es um viel Fleisch geht, der findet es sicher gut. Der Salat hatte zuviel Öl, fand ich. Meine Cousine fand es gut so. Die Pommes schmeckten mir nicht. Auch zu fettig und schmeckten nach altem Öl. Meine Cousine hat sie jedoch ganz gut gegessen- also wohl auch Geschmackssache. . Ich fand es ziemlich blöd, das wir am Parkplatz angesprochen wurden, das wir das Auto nicht längs setzen DÜRFEN. Der komplette Parkplatz war frei! Nur viel weiter hinten am Hundeplatz waren weitere Autos. Ich hatte den Fuss gebrochen, deshalb parkten wir sehr weit vorne und auch quer ( weil alles leer war!) Damit ich Platz zum ein/ aussteigen hatte. Ich fand diese Erziehungsmassnahme für künftige Besuche völlig unangemessen. Ok wäre gewesen...heute ist es kein Problem, aber bitte beim nächsten Mal...... Jetzt wird es kein nächstes Mal für mich geben. Das Essen hat mich nicht überzeugt.

War heute dort. Man könnte mehr aus diesem schönen Restaurant machen. Bedienung sehr bemüht, aber unsicher und zu wenig selbstbewustsein. Geschäftsleitung ehrlich und korrekt. Küche sehr schnell, daher leider Essen nicht frisch zubereitet, aber Geschmack OK. Ist noch Luft nach oben, aber ich werde wieder hingehen!
