Simply fantastic! We were absolutely thrilled with our visit to El Grecco. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were on holiday in Greece – a warm welcome, a wonderful atmosphere, and a delightful aroma wafting from the kitchen. The food was a dream: fresh, authentic, and perfectly seasoned. I especially recommend the gyros and the homemade tzatziki – simply heavenly! The service was also attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We will definitely be back – a true taste of Greece right in the heart of Alzey!

Oh, what a lovely evening. The food was so delicious. I thought it was really great that they also had children's and senior citizen plates. The portion was perfect for me, and I also ordered a delicious Metaxa sauce. It was amazing.

- The food was absolutely perfect, except for the appetizer salad. The salad could have been spicier and included olives and grated carrots. - No one ever came to the table to ask if I wanted anything else or if everything was okay. - The food was delivered very quickly!

The food was 😋 and not as warm in the front as in the back. In winter, it's better the other way around 😅 The staff is friendly and always busy. The ambiance inside is okay. The outdoor terrace has umbrellas. Access to the restrooms is via a small, steep staircase 😟

Being regulars at Greek restaurants, we were disappointed with this one. The dish was missing ingredients. The meat was overcooked. The fries were not at all appetizing. No ouzo offered as a digestif. It didn't make us want to leave a tip, sorry. The service: not a smile from the waiters. We were neither greeted nor asked if everything went well. It doesn't make us want to go back, which is a shame.

If it weren't too far away, this would be our favorite Greek restaurant; we'd love to come back next year. Very friendly service and delicious food, generous portions, and a lovely terrace.

Extremely rude on the phone! I've never experienced anything like it before... I called at 2:22 p.m., was on hold for four minutes. Finally, someone answered, and they barked at me, asking me what I wanted. Then, when I tried to speak, they simply hung up.

The food is good, but the salad is a bit meager. The staff is friendly. They also provide decent cutlery 😉. Unfortunately, the outdoor chairs were a bit hard and wet (the wickerwork). It would be nice if they could provide suitable seat cushions (water-resistant, meaning outdoor seating) (even if you don't ask). Despite the busy street, you can otherwise relax on the terrace and enjoy a good meal. The thuja hedge blocks out much of the noise.

There were two of us there and we were very disappointed 😞 we ordered a surprise plate and a soup, it was big and not very big, the bread was at least two days old. For 5 euros you would expect a decent portion of soup. We waited over 45 minutes for the surprise plate... then came the surprise. There was a side salad which was also very meager. Then after a very long wait the surprise plate arrived. The fries were great, the steaks were also delicious, now came the bifteki which was overseasoned, there was too much paprika powder in it... and the baked gyro was completely too salty. What a shame, it was inedible. The tzatziki was delicious. The waiter asked if we were satisfied and I gave my honest statement on the whole thing. The waiter said we don't know the taste of the restaurant and took the full amount. That was our last visit.

The taste of the food was okay, but unfortunately there were a few things that spoiled the visit. The side salad was very small - I would have expected a little more. It was also a shame that there was no ouzo at the end, as we usually find in Greek restaurants. A misunderstanding when ordering resulted in the wrong dish being brought. Instead of clarifying it in a simple and customer-friendly manner, the waiter unfortunately discussed it - that could have been resolved in a more relaxed manner. The restaurant itself seems cozy, and maybe it just wasn't the best day. With a little more attention to service the visit would certainly have been more pleasant.

We go there often and unfortunately we notice that over time the quality of the food gets a little worse and especially the portions get smaller and smaller. We didn't get full and that's a shame because it used to be different. We even save money on the fries... and then increase the prices, which we can understand and accept, but we don't accept it if the portions are so poor. Very, very unfortunate. We'll avoid going there for now and will test it again over time to see if it's gotten better. There is nothing to complain about about the staff.

Unfortunately, bugs in salad can happen. A new salad was succinctly offered, which the child politely declined. That was the end of the matter for the waiter. Too bad! Food otherwise ok.

Ordered for pickup. That was really disappointing. Tiny side salads, absolutely dried out gyros, tiny side dish portions. And that at high prices... Not recommended. Ordered there last time.

Zum Abholen bestellt. Das war wirklich enttäuschend. Winzige Beilagensalate, absolut ausgetrocknetes Gyros, kleinste Beilagenportionen. Und das bei gesalzenen Preisen... Nicht zu empfehlen. Letztes mal dort bestellt.

A classic in Alzey. A fairly Germanized Greek, but still delicious. Not exactly cheap but worth the money. Reservation is recommended. If necessary, you will also be served super quickly here.

We were at El Grecco with 7 people on a Sunday lunchtime. Orders, even smaller reorders, went quite quickly. Very good service. The food was tasty and we were all happy with the visit.

We had made a special reservation for a wheelchair for a birthday, but there was still no table available and we had to sit in a very cramped space. You noticed that if you weren't a regular customer, you wouldn't be served as friendly as the other guests, very unfriendly and rude. Food was ok, I was influenced by the positive reviews, but it's nothing special, you can find it everywhere at Greek restaurants. I don't drive 120 km for this.

I have to reduce my rating to one star. Such unfriendly service is unacceptable. I ordered a baked sheep's cheese, it had a very large layer of oregano, which I can't tolerate in such large quantities and it was also disgusting. I let him go back. When we paid, they said, we've been doing it like that for 20 years. If I had ordered it the first time, when I confirmed it, they said, "I'm canceling it as an exception, normally you would have had to pay." Um hello, then Do you have to write something like that in the menu, there's nothing there. So this time really NEVER again The food was good, only the fries were crunchy. What bothered me was quite simple. After my parents, sons and daughter-in-law were here recently and told me that the waiter rounded up, I wanted to see it for myself. The two of us went there and I calculated what we would have to pay, 35.50. When the waiter came to collect us he said 45 euros. At first I looked at him in horror and said "no, that can't be right"! He replied why, of course, and the tone in which he spoke to us didn't work at all. I then sent him away and told him to bring the bill with him. After a short time he came back beaming with joy and said "I made a mistake, it's 2 euros less" Eh hello! I then looked at the bill and there were 2 drinks on it that we didn't have (well, that can happen) but the two drinks would have cost 6.60 and 35.50 +6.60 =42.10. How can it come to 43 euros? Besides, what kind of customs are there that no bill is brought to the table anymore? Even in the best restaurant, the bill is presented to the guest in a nice way. We will not visit this restaurant again and not further

The food was good and came relatively quickly, even though there were a lot of guests. My portion was a little too small, the remaining three meals at the table were sufficient. The salad was a simple leaf lettuce. A little more variety would have been desirable here. The service is satisfactory. Since the table wasn't set, the cutlery came later. It was put down carelessly and not cleanly. A napkin was only given upon request. The napkins were then placed on a spot for all four people without saying a word. A plate of tzatziki is handed over without being asked. The question as to whether the plate belonged to a dish was answered in the affirmative. Surprisingly, the plate was then priced separately. You should have given it back if you didn't want it. However, the tzatziki then has to be thrown away, which in my opinion would lead to unnecessary waste of food.

Das Essen war bei uns leider von schlechter Qualität. Der Lammteller besteht aus Lammfilet, Lammspieß und Lammkotelett. Der Lammspieß war zäh und das Messer zusätzlich stumpf. Als Beilage gab es frittierte Kartoffelscheiben mit einem Schaum aus Würze und Knoblauchpulver. Da hatte ich die ganze Nacht etwas von. Meine Frau hatte Schweinefilet im Metaxasoße. Auch hier war das Fleisch ziemlich zäh, die Soße eher einfach und blass im Geschmack.

Nice menu, good selection, something for everyone... vegetarian too... the food was good and plentiful, you'll feel pleasantly full. You can also get rice instead of fries. The food came quickly and didn't have to wait long. And there was the Uzo from the house. The only note was that we had all of our drinks empty at the table and were still chatting, but even when we were clearing the plates, the service didn't ask if we wanted any more drinks, dessert or anything else, and even when we sat for a while, no one from the service came on their own initiative came to the table and asked if we would like anything. We sat at the table for about 45 minutes.

Nowadays there are still no vegetarian main dishes (except salad) which is a shame. Greek cuisine also offers more than meat in 15 variations if you are a little creative.

I know the service differently. You had the feeling that quickly, quickly... so that the table would be free again and ready for the next guests. The food wasn't bad, but it was better too. The garlic potatoes were more like chips, too dry, the liver wasn't cooked through... It's a shame.

Well, very disappointing. Starter 😋, main course... sirloin skewer with fries - both lukewarm, plate cold. Complaints were received with grumbling. The waiter then took the plate away without saying a word and brought it back at some point. The fries were very crispy because they probably ended up in the deep fryer again, and the meat looked like it had been microwaved. Nobody from service said a word about it. No condition and not to mention good service. Well, not in the future. There are better Greeks with great service and, above all, hot food. Others have also thought about the beloved Ouzo. If you don't drink alcohol, you're also looking into the tube.

There were four of us at El Grecco. Very nice welcome with Ouzo, friendly and attentive service. Food super tasty, i.e. Gyros / Metaxa / Suflaki skewers. Salad and starter absolutely top. Everyone was happy. No point of criticism.

Waren zum ersten Mal hier gewesen. Der Grillteller mit Rumpsteak, Putensteak und Schweinesteak waren geschmacklich sehr gut gewesen. Das Rumpsteak war zart. Salat und Pommes waren im Preis enthalten. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmte. Wurden äußerst freundlich bedient. Kommen gerne bald wieder.

Die Lokalität und die Bedienung waren gut . Der Vorspeisen Salat ,war einfach nur Salat, ohne Tomaten, Peperoni und Olive - wie man es sonst so gewohnt ist. Die Hauptspeise teilweise sehr trocken und es fehlte mir der Klecks Tsatziki auf dem Teller. Diesen konnte man nach bestellen für 5,70 Euro, stolzer Preis wie ich finde.

Bedienung schnell. Essen gut. Beilagen sehr wenig. Extra-Reis kostet 4 Euro für etwa eine halbe Tassengröße. Das finde ich nicht gut. Dessert mit 4 Bällchen Eis. War auch ganz gut. Es hat gut geschmeckt. Reservierung sehr zu empfehlen. Restaurant ist durchaus zu empfehlen

Ein absolut durchschnittliches Restaurant in jeder Hinsicht. Eine Gaststätte für alle Tage. Es gibt keine Kritik und keine Highlights. Man bekommt ordentliches Essen und zahlt dafür.

Über das Essen kann man nichts sagen, Preise sind für die heutige Zeit, OK. Für ein Firmenessen dürfen wir 2h bleiben, danach mussten wir gehen. Ein Dessert durften wir nicht mehr bestellen, weil sie Mittagspause machen möchtobwohl wir noch gut in der Zeit sind. Die telefonisch vereinbarte Zeit wurde auch vom Service falsch eingetragen, worauf der Service uns sehr unfreundlich zu verstehen gegeben hat, dass es unser Fehler gewesen sei. Nachtrag auf die Antwort vom Inhaber. Dafür, dass sie sagen, dass wir nicht reserviert hätten, war die Tafel im Nebenzimmer für genau unsere Personenanzahl bereit gestellt. Sie sagten, wir hätten für abends reserviert, was nicht der Tatsache entspricht ! Vielleicht sollten sie Ihre Organisation etwas überarbeiten, damit nicht noch andere Firmen ein einmaliges Erlebnis in Ihrem Hause erleben ;)
