El Gallo in Weil am Rhein is truly a highlight! The food is always fresh and delicious. It's especially worth a visit on Saturdays: There's music – often Latino, sometimes other styles – and a truly wonderful party atmosphere on the large terrace. Perfect for eating well, enjoying cocktails, and celebrating a little. Highly recommended!

I've been to El Gallo in the Dreiländergalerie in Weil am Rhein several times for dinner, and it's always been delicious. The terrace is very pleasant in the summer; I celebrated my birthday there. They put a lot of effort into it. I really like the cocktails there. :)

The latte macchiato was absolutely delicious. I thought the cream was super tasty. The tacos were very crispy and cheesy. The meat was the tastiest, I think, and the salsas were a very good addition.

We spent an evening at El Gallo with our team, and it was truly a complete success. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the music created a fantastic atmosphere – we even got to dance and have a great time. The food not only looked cheap, but unfortunately, it tasted cheap too. Only the salad was edible. We were the only customers—and when we left the restaurant, we knew why.

Disappointed, the price/performance ratio isn't right. Too much lemon, and the meat was too thin. I returned almost the entire meal. And I paid the full price. It had nothing to do with fajitas. The peppers, tomatoes, and meat pieces were much too large. The tortillas were in a simple basket, half-covered with a napkin, and not warm. They should have been served differently so the tortillas stay warm, in a tortilla warmer. I gave them another chance today and wanted to surprise my son. Since he ate that, he's just been sitting over the toilet in the bathroom. And the price for that food isn't appropriate. The health department should take a look.

Die Terasse ist super und es geht ein kleines Lüftchen. Klar ist die Bedienung nicht die schnellste und nicht kommunikativ, aber wer hierhin kommt sollte mit seinen Freunen sprechen und einen gemütlichen Abend verbringen. Dazu gehört Zeit und gutes Essen. Beides gibt es hier. Und das ist der Grund warum wir immer mal wieder hierher kommen.

The service was warm, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. You feel truly welcome as a guest. The atmosphere was relaxed yet stylish – perfect for a cozy evening. Eigentlich wollten wir auf der Dachterrasse zu Abend essen. Der Aperol vorneweg war wässrig und mit der schlechteste, den wir getrunken haben. Der Service war unmotiviert und wenig einladend. Wir wurden nicht gefrag, Blickkontakt war nahezu unmöglich, obwohl die Terrasse fast leer war. Wir haben uns dann doch entschieden woanders Essen zu gehen.

We come here regularly for dinner because our family loves the food. Everyone can find something they like here, and we're always very satisfied.

The quality of the food impressed me greatly. Great flavor and great combinations. Huge portions. Perhaps the location is a bit unfortunate (inside the mall, with no street access), but the restaurant is top-notch.

It's been a while since I was here buuuuut The atmosphere in the place looks quite appealing at first glance – but unfortunately, that's about it. It's so loud inside that you feel more like you're in a crowded club than a restaurant. Conversations? Only possible if you shout at each other. And now for the real disaster: We even had a table reservation – but it didn't help at all. When we got there, they suddenly said there were no tables available. Instead of honestly informing us about the wait time or communicating clearly, we were simply left standing outside – with no response, no information, no plan. After what felt like an eternity, we were finally seated somewhere – only to have to move to another table a short time later. The entire process was chaotic and disorganized from start to finish. The waiters seemed completely overwhelmed and clueless. No one knew what was going on, and we ourselves had to keep asking where our food was. Communication? None. If you realize you can't handle it, you should either let fewer guests in or at least be honest that it might take a while. After more than two hours, the food finally arrived – cold. Simply disappointing. The so-called "nachos" (Durito chips topped with cheese) were a sad pile of soggy chips with melted cheese that had probably been warm half an hour ago. Taste-wise? Not even mediocre. As an "apology," the manager offered a shot of liquor – as if that would make up for the lost time and frustration. The whole thing is also way too expensive for what you get here. Conclusion: Beautiful facade, but behind it lies nothing but chaos. Disorganized from the first moment to the last bite. No good service, no good food, too loud, too expensive. Unless something fundamental changes – absolutely not recommended.

Das El Gallo befindet sich in einem Einkaufzentrum und versprüht den "Charme" einer Kantine. Die Speisekarten waren klebrig, was Hinweis genug hätte sein müssen, wie die Qualität des Essens ist. Wir haben noch nie einen so schlechten Burger gegessen und das zu einem Preis der nur als Unverschämt bezeichnet werden kann. Die Bedienung war freundlich, jedoch weder aufmerksam noch sonderlich bemüht.

We were at your party on May 30, 2025. Unfortunately, ordering wasn't going very well. We had to order our drinks at least three times before they finally arrived; we had to wait at least 30 minutes for our drinks. A little tip for the next party: remove the tables and chairs, because that just leads to more sitting than dancing, and you won't have problems ordering table numbers. Tables only at the front and no tables on the dance floor. Furthermore, I would only order at the bar, without waiters. This saves on personnel costs, and you get your drinks faster and there's no confusion. You had a bar outside; I wonder what the point is if no one is there!? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I hope you like this and the next party will be better 😉 The DJ played good music, but towards the end, there were problems with the volume, and it was more of a hiss than a bass. ✌🏼

Everything was great! Very cozy, very atmospheric. Very polite staff. They cook very tasty, the portions are very large. I recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is on the upper floor of a shopping mall. It was quite empty when we, a family party of 6, arrived. We were seated outside on the terrace. Service was slow (over an hour’s wait for mains), food is bland and way overpriced. My husband’s homemade Guacamole and tacos is so much tastier and better value too. And he’s not even Mexican! Kid’s meager chicken and chips was €14!! Overall, a disappointing restaurant.

If you've ever enjoyed real Mexican food, Tex-Mex, Cal-Mex, or have been to a Mexican restaurant anywhere in the South-West... this restaurant is NOT for you. I've been there three times, and have been disappointed each time. The first time I ordered a chicken chimichanga. It consisted of two flour tortillas, each one folded-in-half, and half-heartedly dipped in boiling oil or fat, and drenched with cheese. Plump, and full of chicken, lettuce, beans, rice, and avacado it was not. Flat and dejected it was. The next time I went, I ordered chicken with mole sauce (Mole Rojo). The chicken was very dry, the sauce—which they promised me they made themselves—was more inspired-adjacent than inspired (IOW, not a lot like mole sauce), and the basmati rice tasted strangely chemically. Finally, today, about eight months after my last visit, I ordered the chicken burrito. I thought it was too basic to mess up. I thought wrong. If you were to ask me what the main ingredient was, I would say it was salt. All there was for filling was pulled chicken, Salsa Mexicana (which was red and salty) and the tortilla. The burrito itself was rolled like a rug or a sleeping bag. The sides hadn't been ticked in. The refried beans were sort of a saving grace—by themselves they were completely flavorless. But their blandness did help to mitigate against the saltiness of the burrito. In conclusion, if you love Mexican food, stay away from El Gallo.

Nice atmosphere, delicious food, nice birthday party

Had a very bad experience on May 3, 2025. Waiting time for food was almost an hour and waiting for drinks was almost half an hour without being warned in advance. Food was nothing special. Employees are extremely overwhelmed, they were there a year ago and wanted to give the store a second chance because everything went wrong the first time. Definitely avoid this restaurant if you have any plans after the restaurant.

Unfortunately too few service staff. Saturday evening and 2 waitresses.

Unfortunately it was a very disappointing evening for us. We made a reservation for 7:30 p.m., the food was only served to us 2 hours later and the wrong dish. It took another half hour for the bill to arrive. The food had way too much oil, the best thing was the salad. Never again!

There are far better Mexicans!! Was there for the second time yesterday. Since it wasn't a hit the first time, I thought that maybe it would be better this time... Everyone deserves a second chance! Unfortunately, I was taught otherwise: The service was pretty bad from the start and not very friendly either. Five people had bread with aioli as a starter. But only four arrived at the table When we asked, we were told that we had each other's portions in two of the bread baskets. My starter was completely forgotten and only came when asked. In return I got three more squid rings... And when I order fried squid from a Mexican restaurant, I don't expect the rubbery things from the frozen food store for over eleven euros!!!! In the main course, the meat and sausage were grilled to death, and therefore the taste wasn't great either. There were also tortillas from the pack. Prices are way too high for the quality!! All in all not an experience... Not twice for the money!

4 mini frozen curros for 10 is another market trap of capitalism. Be careful.

Although the restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff is friendly, the prices are inflated, the quality of the ingredients leaves much to be desired, and the chefs seem to have never tried Mexican food.

The food was delicious, but the music in the background was either Mexican or Spanish.

The waiting time is really long at 40 minutes with so little activity... and our food was served to another table. When they noticed this, they wanted to give it to us even though I saw exactly how the other guests had already eaten it... first there was a brief discussion, then it was said that it would be prepared again. But less than 10 minutes later the food came back... Funny how it first takes 40 minutes and then less than 10 minutes. The food was warm on the outside and cold on the inside. I don't think it's nice and you couldn't eat anymore if you had an appetite. Too bad! That shouldn't be the case. Mistakes happen, but then you should own up to them and serve the customer really new food.

We've been here a few times now and now with a small group of 6 people before we went to the cinema afterwards. The service was quick and the food was delicious as always. Everyone was happy and completely full. Our waiter was very attentive. We'd love to come back :)

The place is very cozy, the ambiance is welcoming aswell. The food was absolutely tasty, and surprisingly filling. The cocktails were very refreshing, they definitely hit the spot. The kind waiters also offered us free shots 🤭 will go again!

The staff is extremely overwhelmed and were also extremely unfriendly. Order was taken after 20 minutes and served after another 40 minutes. The worst part is, they took the order incorrectly and then said that this is what we ordered and the mistake wasn't theirs. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Had to spend over 60 minutes. Wait for the main course. The food was served cold and didn't have everything that was on the menu. The server didn't really know about their own menu. The ambience was great but the rest is not worth recommending.

We reserved for a table for 3 people for 7:30 p.m. (February 14, Valentine's Day) after 45 minutes we were finally able to place an order (cocktails and dishes). After 20 minutes, we received our cocktails and 15 minutes later, a small plate of patatas fritas which was to accompany the cocktails. Then nothing more until 10:15 p.m.!!! Time when we decided to leave, without waiting for our dishes. Another 15 minutes to be able to pay for the cocktails and the tapas plate! (€32 anyway). With the accusatory look of the person in charge! Not an excuse, not an explanation, not a single commercial gesture for waiting 2 hours 40 minutes without having eaten anything!! The restaurant was full and around us there were many tables in the same situation! Wasted evening, too bad! To avoid.

El Gallo is a place I have already been too in Freiburg so I was excited to find out that there is also one in Weil am Rhein. The ambience is really cool and the food was really delicious but the service took forever and was very unorganised. Would recommend if you have time , they have quite a list for cocktails and they are pretty kind with the portions.

I went there for dinner with my family last week based on a recommendation. So I entered the restaurant in a positive mood. The order: After we had to wait around 30 minutes for service, the waitress picked up the drinks and went back. After another 20 minutes she returned with the drinks (they were simple soft drinks, not cocktails) After the drinks, the waitress took the order again. This time she started discussing with us. We order a dish and she says what we ordered was wrong. Since we thought we didn't know the dishes well, we showed the waitress which dish we wanted on the menu. Then she said again that this was wrong and that the court above is what we want. She didn't seem to want to accept that she didn't know the map well enough. So we simply asked you to include the dish we wanted and show it 1:1 on the menu with the desired ingredients, no matter what number or name that corresponds to for you. (In the end the dish was delivered incorrectly and ingredients were missing.) We also wanted something spicy at the table, the waitress claimed that a certain dish was spicy. (In the end it wasn't spicy, not even “a matter of opinion”). It contained no spiciness at all In any case, the waitress wasn't particularly knowledgeable about their own products. We also didn't have enough napkins at the table and the table wasn't cleaned properly beforehand. (breadcrumbs at the table) The food: The food was not very tasty in terms of taste. In general it was way too oily. No additional bowl/plate was provided with the tapas in order to throw away waste. So the table had to believe in it. For 4 starters they provided us with about 4 small, thin slices of bread. When we asked whether we still received bread, the waitress clarified this and came back with the following answer: All the bread is already in there Basket". In your opinion, that should be enough. In the end, no one knew whether we could order more. The burger was the epitome of basic. The meat was too cooked and the bread was too rubbery. This is exactly how I imagine the burger to be when you buy the ready-made microwave burger from the supermarket. You almost had to eat the burrito with a spoon because the plate was liquid. In any case, the burrito tasted better than the burger. The fajitas were swimming in oil and very little bread was provided. So you had to eat around half of the plate with a fork because there wasn't enough bread for anything. The ambience: The restaurant is nicely decorated, but unfortunately sounds like a cafeteria. Unfortunately the acoustics are not very good. You almost had to shout at each other to understand a word. The dirty table could have been an exception, but it still bothered us. Conclusion: Due to the high price, I expected to receive large, tasty portions, or normal portions but very high quality. In my opinion, the portions were small and not of particularly good quality. It's definitely worth trying out, but the restaurant isn't particularly suitable for regular visits with friends and family due to the acoustics, the waiting time and the food.

So that was the best Mexican restaurant I've ever seen, the food was simply amazing and the staff was super nice⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 extra stars

Very friendly and attentive service, but the waiting time was a bit long, otherwise great food

The food is good and the interior design is also attractive. The prices are high and the menu is designed to ensure that there are no dishes significantly cheaper than around the 20 euro mark. Children's meals for adults who are slightly hungry are prohibited. But we only found out when the adult portion of the same dish was brought. However, the restaurant smelled strongly of kitchen and old deep fryers and the service was poor. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we felt rushed to finally order. The waiter also had no idea what vegan meant and ended up suggesting chili con carne as a vegan dish. It wasn't a disaster, but it wouldn't happen again either.

The Mexican food here is simply excellent – ​​fresh, authentic and full of flavor. I was particularly impressed by the variety of dishes, as there is something for everyone. The team is not only competent, but also incredibly friendly and attentive.

This is an excellent place to eat. The price, service and quality of the food is exceptional. On Sundays the shopping center is closed but the restaurant is open from 11 am to 11 pm. There are 2 hours of free parking. From the third hour onwards you pay 1.80 per hour. You can pay with credit card or cash. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor and you can get to the restaurant from the underground parking lots with the elevator. The restaurant does not have its own bathrooms but the mall's bathrooms on the first floor are used. No additional cost. The restaurant accepts credit cards as well. The terrace is open in the summer. The music is Latin and the atmosphere and decoration are great.
