Great, cozy restaurant. Super harmonious atmosphere with nice service staff. Delicious cocktails and salsas. Tacos very good.

We were one of the first to enter the store; not five tables must have been occupied. We still had to wait 20 minutes for any drinks to be taken. The store filled up quickly after that. Another 40 minutes of waiting and observing that several tables that came after us got drinks before us. When the table that had just been there for less than 10 minutes was sitting next to us and had also received the drinks before us, it was over and we simply left. We also sat in the restaurant for almost an hour and a half and the waiter who took us in looked at us several times as we were still sitting without drinks. Let alone the food, later tables before us also received that. So whether it is so time-consuming to prepare 3 mini tacos. From an organizational point of view it was one of the worst restaurants we were in. We then went to Sakura's, the store was packed. And without exaggerating, we waited 2 minutes to get our drinks

Nice, great bar with unfortunately overpriced snacks. Portions far too small for a restaurant. Price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. You won't get full with just one main course. But great as a pure bar.

We were a group of 6 people. Food: Absolutely fantastic! Ambiance: Great! Service: Made up for a lot with his charming smile. Unfortunately, there was a lack of service for a great evening... 20 minutes until the first drinks arrived, unfortunately a main course was forgotten (but it was delivered quickly). Today we were guests at El Chingón. We had a good seat, but we waited half an hour for our drinks right at the beginning. The service staff were all very friendly and attentive! The food impressed us. However, the taco of the month was a little flimsy and had little filling compared to the others. If you're there for the tacos, you should take advantage of the all-you-can-eat offer. It would be worth it! Overall we had a lovely evening with great drinks and delicious food!

We felt like we were on vacation and it was super comfortable!

Unfortunately, me and my 4 friends were very disappointed with the food. Unfortunately it wasn't good in terms of taste or price. The portions are also very small. For example, I had three different vegetarian taccos (one was filled with just canned corn and a few nuts, the other with mushrooms and a bit of feta cheese). So it's also pretty uncreative. Unfortunately I can do it better at home :(.

The purest catastrophe! We had the pulled pork tacos 🌮 and they didn't work at all! They were completely watery, so when you bit into them everything came out at the bottom. And the meat just stank. Unfortunately we were only able to take one bite. Inedible

The food was very tasty but the portions were very small. If you're really hungry, the 3 tacos (€15) won't fill you up. If I'm hungry I'll go somewhere else next time.

I'll keep it short: it was tasty, but not a taste explosion. 3 tacos are definitely not enough to fill you up. Had the pulled chicken in marinated bread, very tasty! Service was very nice and attentive. About the ambience: it looked very cozy inside, but since it was too hot, we sat outside. It was a bit noisy because of the bus traffic. But the restaurant can't do anything about it. Overall good: I'll definitely take something with me to go.

Ambiance is good, you can drink a cola or beer/cerveza. We wanted to try something new and it was very disappointing, if you don't know it, you only order small or try out. When you think of Mexico, you think of chilli con carne, it doesn't exist :-( Nachos bland cheese dip liquid. Sorry but we can't recommend it

Were ignored for a long time to be able to place an order. The restaurant was empty. There was also leftover food from the previous guests on the table and under the table. The restaurant only opened at 5 and we were there around 5:15 p.m

We visited the restaurant because of the program “my local, your local”. Based on the show, we promised us more. The bread was really great, the rest was pretty ordinary. We wanted more “Mexico”. And we weren't really full either. Too bad...

We were there today because we saw El Chingon on "My Local, Your Local". What can I say, the food was a poem. The Sopa Azteka was sensational, as was the Frida salad. For the main course we had the El Chilango...Mega 👍 So, now comes complaining at a high level: The gloves that were announced on TV for eating El Chilango should definitely also be "served". You simply have to eat the “burger” with your hands to enjoy and taste all the great flavors. Unfortunately, you could literally ride on the knives, they were so blunt, so the food just didn't look very appetizing. Halfway through I dared to eat with my hands, an absolute taste experience, but my hands look like crap and unfortunately the little mini napkins weren't much help 🙈 And the homemade lemonade was unfortunately just nice to look at. It tasted like diluted juice. Nevertheless, visually beautifully served. All in all, we will definitely come back again and again. Rarely have I eaten something so delicious 🫶🫶🫶

I agree with the reviews of others. The chicken and beef tacos tasted very good. The vegetarian ones were less convincing. The champions had the typical “canned champion” taste. There is a big minus for the portion sizes in relation to the price. Two small tacos for 12€ is too expensive. The size corresponds to an appetizer in other restaurants.

Watched My Local Your Local last Sunday! Super delicious Mexican cuisine - had the same as Mike Süsser - the 600 km from Lake Constance to Paderborn was worth it - my expectations were 100% met - the staff was very friendly - we didn't make a reservation but got the first free table! Everyone is very attentive - every time - the "El Chilango" is as delicious as it looks - I can only recommend it - I will definitely come back!!!

The food was more on the level of a system restaurant. Where is the spiciness, acidity, sweetness or umami? Takos: The shrimp were thawed and previously cooked. In other words, they died twice during preparation and were floury. The pulled pork contained large pieces of collagen or fat. In my opinion a mistake. The pork neck (Al Pastor) was the best. El Chilango: The bread wasn't fried crispy, but rather hard. Here, too, there is no complex game of flavors but a subway comparison in bad form (and Subway really isn't good) Nachos: a bowl of nachos, Gouda cheese or something similar on top... crumbled feta... couldn't be eaten well and in my opinion that wasn't authentic Mexican cuisine either. Drinks: The beer was solid. The lemonade (mango) ... nectar with still water (at least we didn't taste anything more) Service: tried very hard but was overwhelmed by the staffing ratio and not really motivated. You didn't feel welcome. Being a host is also a very important job! Timing: (extremely) long waiting times and tables that ordered later were brought forward. When asked politely, problems in the kitchen were pointed out. It can happen, but here too we lacked the skills as hosts. Bridging waiting times with a house drink would have been a good idea. Conclusion: There are not only culinary flaws in the food but also in the service and the hosts. Apparently many guests see it differently and the store was full. For me/us, this restaurant is not worth a trip to Paderborn. Nevertheless, it was an experience that one remembers... negatively.

The first time I was there, it could have been really world class. Unfortunately we found it relatively too dry. Especially the pulled pork... a bit of a shame. Otherwise the taste was pretty good and the service was really nice. Prices are ok! Not too expensive as some people think.

We saw El Chilango on TV and it really tastes so good, has plenty of toppings and is filling. We would order again in a heartbeat, but due to the poor service and the drinks being a rip off, this was our first and last visit. El Chingón was half full and only inside with guests (everyone already had their drinks) and three employees in service. Nevertheless, we had to wait a full 20 minutes for a beer and a soda. The drinks were only served together with the food and again without cutlery or napkins. When we asked, we received this as well as the gloves, which are strongly recommended for this dish. The homemade lemonade tasted very good, but is a real rip-off in terms of quantity and ingredients! I ordered 0.5 liters for €5.90, but I only got half the content. Additionally full of ice, which is necessary because all the ingredients are unrefrigerated. Thanks to the seat with a view behind the bar and the unintentionally long thirst line, I was able to see how these lemonades are prepared: Mix fruit juice from the bottle in equal parts with table sugar to get the syrup, which is then later mixed with water drawn from a large glass , which looked like tap water. Chilled mineral water from a bottle would have made a better impression at this point, just like a glass that also contained half a liter of soda!

We spent a very nice evening here. The Azteka soup is a MUST! We will be very happy to come back!

We visited the restaurant on a Tuesday evening. We were very disappointed with the staff It wasn't overcrowded, but the staff was totally inattentive and we received a very flat welcome. They were at least 3 tons behind! the counter & we had to approach the staff. It took longer than expected before we could place our order & then it took quite a long time for the food to arrive. The food was tasty but expensive / small portions at the 🌮 Taco's. If you are very hungry, Maybe you should go to another restaurant. The place is extremely noisy and gets loud quickly, making it difficult to have a conversation at times.

We drove via Paderborn specifically to test the El Chingon. We got to know the restaurant through “My Local, Your Local”. The expectations have been confirmed. We found it very tasty, well seasoned and generally well seasoned. We were served nicely and the location in a traffic-calmed area is also great. We had the El Chilango and a selection of tacos. Kitchen clearly focuses on freshness, although vegans only find a very limited menu (1 vegan taco to be exact). Thanks to the flexible kitchen, individual wishes can be catered for. Vegetarians have a slightly larger selection, but can also request adjustments. Ideally, you should plan your visit and inform the kitchen. The point repeatedly highlighted by other reviewers that the size of the portions are (very) small is correct. If you're really hungry, we recommend the "All You Can Eat" offer: 2 hours of as many tacos as you want including just 2 salsas. Additional salsas for an additional charge. But regardless of whether it's “All You Can Eat” or individually compiled dishes - the price can quickly exceed €50, mind you, without drinks. In terms of taste, the food is convincing and scores points for its aroma, but also for its freshness. The perception of sharpness is always a purely subjective feeling. In my personal case, it's sometimes too spicy, as I can no longer tolerate any spiciness due to a burn in my oral mucosa a few years ago. What is “much too loose” for one person causes an excruciating, painful burning sensation for me. That's why I had a hard time with the salsas because only 2 of them don't have chilies. But here too, the kitchen is helpful if you contact the restaurant personally and point it out. Staff helpful and offers alternatives. Unfortunately, the dessert menu only offers two options, but they are convincing across the board. More choice would be desirable here. Non-alcoholic cocktails taste appealing and are fairly priced at €6.90. Overall, El Chingón impresses with its culinary quality, fair prices, friendly service and inviting ambience. Vegans and vegetarians as well as people who cannot eat spicy foods should plan their visit better.

I can agree with many previous speakers. I expected more. The service was very friendly, but you could only drink if you could make eye contact and then wave the service over. Nobody asks when you're sitting in front of empty glasses. But the problem exists elsewhere too. The menu is very clear and the portions are quite small. In terms of taste, with 6 people, we still paid a little over 200. But that didn't match the performance. The question I have to ask myself and also the owner goes back. I have to answer that with no. It just wasn't our thing. Sorry.

A really great original Mexican! Not a huge selection of dishes, but very tasty and reasonably priced. The portions aren't too big. We found the service particularly friendly, relaxed and pleasant!!! Thank you! The drinks were also great. We are looking forward to the next time.

Best Mexican outside of Mexico!

One of the more Mexican Mexican restaurants in Germany. The service is super nice, the atmosphere is pleasant, the food is good. The tacos al pastór are delicious, but the fact that they have more ajote (which doesn't belong there) than the tacos de cochinita (where it belongs) was a bit strange. By the way, I didn't find the tacos de cochinita on the menu. They were recommended to me by the waitress (I already said the service was great) after I expressed my surprise at the ajote on the taco al pastór. The only real criticism for me is the pricing. I paid €40 including tip for 5 tacos and two hefeweizen - and went home without being full. Sorry, but that's simply too expensive.

The most authentic Mexican restaurant around. The cocktails and the food are amazing. The portions are not huge, but they are of high quality and beautifully prepared. The warm service made our evening better. Lots of attention to detail. Very clean toilets with hygiene supplies. We'll definitely be back!

We were guests as a group and we were offered and served a menu with soup, 3 tacos of our choice and dessert (December 2023). The soup was delicious, the dessert was delicious. The tacos weren't impressive. The chorizo ​​taco in particular disappointed me (and a Mexican colleague), it didn't taste like chorizo ​​at all, which is a specialty not only in Spain and Mexico. The waitress asked much too late if we wanted something more to drink. We were already in a spirit of optimism. A pity. The price/performance ratio wasn't appropriate for me either.

Ich war vor ca 2 Wochen mit meiner Cousine dort und hatte zwei leckere Wraps. Es war kurz davor, dass die Küche schloss und ich hatte gefragt und fand es total super, dass Küche und Service gesagt haben, sie machen mir noch schnell was das fand ich sehr außergewöhnlich und das ist auch nicht selbstverständlich! Und ich hatte doch soooooo spät noch sooooo großen Hunger! Ein Hoch auf die Küche und auch auf den Service immer wieder gerne, sehr gemütliches Ambiente, gute Cocktails, Preise ok und lecker Happi Happi. Auch für Veganer gut geeignet.

Tacos portion was smaller than we expected. But most of them tasted great. Edit after 4 years; In their menu they just have 2 tacos now. It's not ideal as I find it very hard to choose and get the right one for you. My wife picked 2 that she didn't enjoy that much, at past we could get a selection of 5 smaller ones for a similar price.

Das einzige positive waren die netten Mitarbeiter und Cocktails. Das Essen ist für den Preis auf jeden Fall nicht zu empfehlen. Es erinnert an billiges Fast Food, welches man sich an jeder Ecke für 10 Euro weniger holen könnte. Die Quesadillas schmecken so, als ob sie kurz mit Käse in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt wurden und das Fleisch ist, wie auch bei den Tacos, fast geschmackslos. Das Fett hört nicht auf zu tropfen und läuft praktisch im Teller über, was das Essen mit den Händen umso unangenehmer macht.

War ein sehr netter Laden, das Essen war lecker die cocktails waren gut, und besonders hat uns Barkeeperin gefallen.

Sehr leckeres Essen, netter Service. Spontaner Besuch mit 10 Personen und mit Glück und kurzer Wartezeit auch einen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen kam recht schnell, hat gut geschmeckt und war relativ authentisch zu dem Essen in Mexiko. Hätte etwas schärfer sein können und die Preise sind gesalzen: 5 Tacos 16,50 € oder 9 € für eine Brottasche mit Pulled Pork / Chicken ist schon eine Ansage. Ich komme dennoch wieder, denn ich möchte noch die Tacos probieren. So, ein knappes Jahr später war ich mit meinem Mann wieder da, um die Tacos "All you can eat" auszuprobieren. Wir waren absolut begeistert!! Die Tacos waren suuuperlecker und sehr authentisch (wir waren schon mehrfach in Mexiko), die Limo mega erfrischend und der junge Mann im Service supernett! Der Laden war unter der Woche voll und ohne Reservierung nur sehr schwer ein Tisch zu bekommen. Wer "Tacos wie in Mexiko" Essen möchte, ist hier genau an der richtigen Adresse!

Lecker und eine gute Auswahl an Tacos. Der Nachtisch war das Highlight.

Lange schon hatte ich mich darauf gefreut, da nur eine kleine Auswahl von Fladenbroten mit dem Belag Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, Vegetarisch (Kartoffeln & Paprika) und Chorizo & Kartoffel angeboten werden. Meist denkt man sich je weniger Auswahl es gibt desto besser muss es sein. Außerdem ist El Chingon der einzige Laden in Paderborn den ich kenne, der so eine Kreation anbietet. Wir hatten Pulled Chicken und den Vegetarischen, die in ihrem Wesen auch äußerst lecker waren, doch für 11,90€ pro Fladenbrot habe ich die gewisse besondere Note vermisst. Es ist ein sehr einfach belegtes Fladenbrot, welches vor Fett trieft, was überhaupt nicht negativ gemeint ist. Das in Chilli gebadete Fladenbrot war leider das einzig besondere Merkmal. Meiner Meinung nach wäre es für 8-10€ ein besserer Preis, sodass man auch nochmal ein zweites, oder drittes mal den Aufwand betreibt dort hinzugehen. Von Bestellen rate ich ab, da die Fladenbrote auf jeden Fall frisch genossen werden sollten. Dennoch kann ich eine Empfehlung aussprechen, die mal etwas abseits der Standard "Fast-Food" Gerichte kosten möchten.

Tolles Restaurant im Herzen von Paderborn. Wir waren zu viert mit Reservierung hier und haben einen tollen Platz draußen bekommen. Die Bedienung war wirklich überaus aufmerksam und hat sich ständig nach unserem Wohlbefinden erkundigt. Getränke wurden fix aufgenommen und waren ebenso schnell am Tisch. Das Bier hätte etwas kälter sein können 🫣🍺 wir haben uns zum Essen das „All you can eat“ Angebot entschieden. Soviele gefüllte Tacos wie ihr wollt für 2 Stunden. Dazu gibt es zwei Salsas. Das Essen hat etwas auf sich warten lassen, was aber aufgrund der netten Atmosphäre nicht weiter schlimm war. Nun zum Geschmack: sowohl die Salsa als auch alle Tacos waren geschmacklich sehr gut. So stelle ich mir authentische mexikanische Küche vor.☺️ mein Favorit war der Taco mit Pulled Chicken und die Salsa mit Ananas (Achtung sehr scharf). Zum Abschluss hatten wir noch einen Mezcal von der sehr gut bestückten Tequila-Theke 😋 wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder. Wirklich eine Bereicherung für Paderborn 🤤
