El Burrito in Weimar

After a very bad experience at another restaurant, we went to El Burrito and received a warm welcome - even though we only arrived at 8:45 p.m. Everything was suitable, the staff was very friendly and humorous. The food was delicious. We had a wonderful evening. Thank you! The 7 girls round from November 9th, 2024

Great food, everything was great!

The food was super tasty and beautifully prepared. The staff very friendly.

Unfortunately I can't share the euphoria. The dish of chicken with orange sauce was just bland. Any spice was missing. The white wine we ordered was simply placed on the table unopened and was far too warm. Unfortunately, the choice of colors for the menus was unfavorable, and the selection of dishes could only be seen with a cell phone pocket smear.

Unfortunately a complete disappointment.

Came because of the good reviews and were unfortunately disappointed in the taste. (The service was nice). The price/performance ratio is not right and the taste of the food was not special and not very authentic Tex-Mex.

It was packed and we hadn't booked a table... Nevertheless, the staff tried to make everything possible so that the three of us could get a place. The ambience was typically Mexican, the food was prepared quickly and delicious... We can only recommend it.

Really relaxed atmosphere and the food was great!! If you are ever in Weimar you have to go there. 5 ⭐️

So I'm wondering what's wrong with these reviews or what's wrong with the people who give them. We have been traveling for a week now. 2 nights Weimar, 4 nights Vienna, 1 night Salzburg. By far the worst meal we had was at El Burrito. The service is terrible and brings 2 of the 4 drinks wrong. The food is really questionable. McDonald's can do a better burger and what's particularly bad is that it looks even better there. The fries consist more of salt than potatoes. We don't come here anymore. Weimar has a lot more to offer than El Burrito.

Since there was no table available, we were parked at the bar. It took a long time, including the drinks. The employees clearly had a lot to do. In the end the wait was worth it, the food was delicious!

Nice, loving Spanish/Mexican decor, at least as you might imagine as a foreigner. Food is tasty and the portions are well sized. Cozy and not too noisy thanks to the nesting of the rooms.

The waiters are awesome, especially the young man with the pigtail. You can tell that he enjoys doing the job. The food was, as always, very good. We always enjoy coming to El Burrito. 👍👍

I've now become a regular guest. It's simply the best Mexican I know. Everything just fits there. See for yourself. It would be an advantage to reserve a table. The table can also be decorated on special days if you have indicated it beforehand.

We only had something to drink here, but it was very tasty.

Very nice restaurant, you can sit outside and inside. The staff is helpful and cheerful. If you like Mexican cuisine, you're sure to find something delicious or get advice. Prices are good, we paid around €60 for 2 main courses and 2 large drinks.

Very creative (Mexican ;)) and lovingly designed restaurant to feel good! We - my son and I - were on the terrace... The absolute highlight was the warm and humorous waiter, who generally created a very relaxed atmosphere... The food was very tasty (partly because of a lot of very tasty sauce!) - we thought it was really good value for money! Happy to come back on your next visit to Weimar!

The shop looks nice, unfortunately neither the food nor the drinks were good. We had beer and Aperol Sprizz, both of which were non-carbonated. For dinner we had the starter of baked avocados, which was okay, but also rather bland. We ordered the fajitas with beef, which was tough, just like the pork in the tapas. I think the pork tapas are usually very spicy and we were offered to make them less spicy. We assumed that, but unfortunately there was no spiciness at all and salt was also missing. The clove and honey were the only things we could taste. There was also no taste of the coriander, which is why we ordered the dish. All in all very disappointing as the store is so well rated. Too bad! And relatively speaking, it was far too expensive.

Lot of seating area. Quite an expansive menu. The food was nice and extremely filling. The service was very kind and attentive. We sat on the veranda which has a great ambience. Prices are competitive and acceptable. Drink menu especially cocktails is really large and definitely worth it even only for the drinks.

Very nice restaurant, we came to the beautiful outdoor area without a reservation and were greeted extremely nicely by the staff. The food was great and our waitress was very nice and super cool. At the end we even got a forgotten game from him because we played something before dinner and we started talking about the game. If we are in Weimar again, we will definitely come back 👍🇲🇽

The allergy card was surprisingly extremely detailed, but there was still an allergen on the food that shouldn't have been there. I had an allergic reaction and had to take medication. My comment that I wasn't feeling well and that they needed to adjust their menu regarding allergens was met with just a shrug of the shoulders; however, they later inquired about my well-being. However, the entire dish was charged for, even though I didn't even eat half of the dish - a disgrace. The health authority has been informed.

We went to El Burrito for dinner. We were warmly greeted at the entrance and shown to our table. The selection of food and drinks is very diverse and it all sounds very interesting. The food was very tasty and the portion was just right. The waitresses were all very nice. Price/performance is definitely right here. Gladly again !

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant at all. We waited 90 minutes for the food. All of them had vegetarian dishes, so nothing that took that long to prepare. Unfortunately, when the food finally came, there was a dish that we hadn't ordered. This was exchanged relatively quickly. The staff was initially friendly. Unfortunately, as we left, we were ignored without a word and not greeted nicely. Unfortunately, in terms of value for money, authenticity and taste, the food is not convincing either. As a final note, I would like to avoid an unprofessional, insulting response to this review, as I have read with other 1-star reviews. This evaluation is intended to encourage improvement in a constructive manner and provide other potential visitors with a realistic picture.

The food was ready on time for pickup. The waiters were very friendly and knew what to do right away. The food was plentiful and really tasty 👌🏻 The ice cream and chocolate sauce were even specially packaged so that everything doesn't melt together. Gladly again

Price/performance is right. The ambience was great. We were greeted very nicely at the door and brought to our table. Our waiter was a little poet, you could tell he was passionate about his work. Huge praise. He also responded to special requests for the meal. Mexican soda, something different, tastes good too. Definitely coming back. The food was great. You can't say anything else. So ElBurrito is definitely worth a visit.

We had ordered a table for 6 people last night and were immediately brought to the table and greeted in a friendly manner. Since it was very warm, we asked to let us know if something became available on the terrace and that happened and we were able to sit outside. Drinks were brought quickly and the appetizers were taken. The main courses also came quite quickly and everything was extremely tasty. The food, the women's cocktails, the ambience and the waiters were great. An all-round successful evening. We'd love to come back.

Today we wanted to eat at El Burrito. Everything started off really nice and nice... we were shown a place and told that we could get the next free place on the terrace. We approve of that (we also thought it was really great). We got our drinks quickly and ordered a starter and main course straight away. Shortly before we got our starter, the first seats became available. And these were immediately occupied by a waiter from guests who had just arrived... It's a shame, then you shouldn't offer that. There were new guests sitting around us, but we were completely ignored... My glass was empty during the starter, and my wife was empty a short time later. There was no reaction here, even though two waiters were serving the four tables around us and should have seen our empty glasses. Well, then we hoped that we would ask again about the main course. But when it came....no moves...rather my plate was spilled a bit. With the notice that it would be removed immediately, no one ever came here again. So we sat there without drinks. Nobody came and asked if everything was okay. It's a shame how little things like that can ruin the evening for guests. Oh yes, we don't have any problems if you see that it's just a matter of waiting. But almost 30 minutes without a drink, no reaction at all. So we lost our appetite for dessert. Service 0 out of 10 Ambiance 10 out of 10 Food 8 out of 10 (definitely better, but the disappointing service is upsetting) Edit: oh, another great answer. It's a good thing her waiter saw it yesterday when she paid. The communication between the waiters wasn't good. But then that was just a standard grumpy answer from him. Also the thing with drinks, sorry... groats.... Gastronomy 6 put.

The best Mexican restaurant I've been to so far. Prices are quite okay. The mixed plates are highly recommended, especially if you have little experience with Mexican cuisine and want to try everything out.

Highly recommended. The waiters are all very friendly and you feel comfortable. Outdoor seating area is also available. The food is very good and the menu is not too overwhelming and there is also a selection of vegetarian dishes. The portions are also really decent. All in all very recommendable.

Although I've been to Weimar many times, I tried this shop for the first time in the evening and I'm pretty impressed. You sit comfortably in neat chairs on the terrace and are handed a sensible (not glued, printed on good paper and clear) card by nice employees and not, as is usual or even "modern", a loose collection of sheets on an old clipboard all mixed up. .. It takes a moment to get your bearings because of the unfamiliar dishes, but the staff are helpful and there is a list of “favorites”. I tried the Plato Mixto, it was delicious, next time I'll try something different. But my highlight was the very tasty dessert, the Creme Catalana - that was really something different... The shop itself is special and colorfully decorated. Next time I'll definitely come back!

We just had dinner there (with a reservation) and now we have to leave a review here. We really need to think carefully about the last time we ate so well. The food is fantastic!!! Everything is fresh, crunchy, the meat is buttery soft and hit exactly right. The ambience is very nicely designed, colors and decoration like Mexican. Service... well, nothing is left to be desired. Absolutely top and definitely recommended.

If you read the reviews here, there seems to be a huge difference between veggie/non-veggie. We were there last night. The ambience is great and the service was also good and very friendly. Drink selection is also good. We had starters and two mains, one each vegetarian/non-veggie. The non-veg nachos as a starter were very tasty, but with the two veggi nachos you noticed that something tasted strange. For the mains, the chicken fajitas were ok, but the veggie burrito was really not good (and not a burrito). Apparently almost all vegetarian dishes have the same “filling” that is just sweet and otherwise tastes like a microwave - no beans, warmed tomatoes... together with a salad with sweet (bag?) dressing. It's a real shame because it really drags down the experience just because the veggie food just tastes bad. At around €18 (almost the same as the chicken version), that's not okay. We ate 1/3 and then that was it. Just try the veggie things and then you'll probably realize for yourself that there is potential here.

Even without a reservation, the two of us were assigned a nice place. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and lovingly furnished. The non-alcoholic cocktails were very good and decorated with great attention to detail. The food didn't take long to arrive, it was still hot and very tasty. A vegetarian selection is available, although sparse. We were always well fed. The toilets are clean and tidy.

The drinks only came with the food. The price-performance ratio is not optimal. One meal was overly seasoned, one was rather bland.

We happened to see the restaurant during our Weimar weekend and were immediately attracted by the inviting decoration with fairy lights. It was a really nice evening! We were a group consisting of 7 people. We ordered “burritos” and a portion of tacos. The service was very nice and quickly packed our order for us due to time constraints. The food, however, was not convincing. The prices are way too high for what you get and the food is not authentic. Our "burritos" didn't even look like any and it was inedible. The smell put us off at first because it was comparable to dog food. It tasted accordingly. The "burritos" didn't stop and the food came to us in the package after just 2 minutes of transport, which we did on foot. Any instant microwave burrito would have been more edible. We thought it was so bad that we couldn't even eat it. We really can't recommend this place. At least not if you want to eat something good. Last week at Easter we were guests of a Mexican in Dresden and I remembered how we were guests here in Weimar in October 2021. Why? Because we were really disappointed with the selection, taste and portion sizes in Dresden, but I can still remember the delicious Puntas Mexicana here, which had a noticeable but pleasant spiciness and all the delicious things around it on the plate and that it was really tasty. My wife was also very happy with her chicken breast fillets in a fruity orange sauce with potato wedges, as was my junior with the chicken wedges and sweet potato fries. The entire ambience here was authentic and great. But enough chatting and praising, we were just completely satisfied here and that's why we're happy to give it full marks. Extraordinarily good is how the store can be described. The atmosphere is nice, colorful and happy, it was just a pleasure to sit here. The food is plentiful and the taste is absolutely amazing... I would recommend reserving a table as this shop is really popular and therefore busy. What I liked best was the mood of the waitresses... the store was really buzzing, and yet there was no trace of annoyance, stress or even a bad mood... People are really celebrating with their guests. Our 2 hours went by so quickly that we could hardly believe it. So we'd love to come back to you again and again and again... Great praise from others TOTALLY RECOMMEND...!!!

Bei einem Kurzbesuch in Weimar hier gelandet. Nicht den schönsten Tisch erhalten. Netter Service, die Drinks schmackhaft. Die Speisen überraschend frisch und schmackhaft. Auf jeden FGall viel besser als erwartet. Hier kann man einen entspannten Abend mit guten bis sehr gutem Essen verbringen.

We just went to Weimar over Easter to experience some great days. After a “classic dinner” we didn’t want to go back to the hotel and passed the Buritto. It looked very inviting and what we were able to experience was absolutely TOP. Nice, friendly, friendly and open-minded staff not only welcomed us, but also spent the rest of the evening. 👍🏻🤩 We liked it so much that we spent the next evening at Buritto again. Great boss, great guys - just great. Thank you and keep it up.👍🏻

Unfortunately there isn't even a real Mexican dish on the menu. Not even real Tex-Mex cuisine. Those who praise the restaurant as “Mexican” have apparently never eaten Mexican. Hello Mr. Richter, my last name and roots didn't stop me from getting to know Mexican cuisine well. Something you never seemed to care about.

We were there for the first time. Totally recommended, great food, great staff. You can see they have fun with what they do. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great. There were even theses glasses. Everything was relaxed despite the restaurant being full. Thank you for the short break from “normal”.
