The food is very good and also the portion size.

If it's not a clean shop. Very friendly staff, delicious food and you'll be full. I thought it was just a bit overpriced, so not quite 5 stars, but definitely one of my favorite shops in Hanau.

We just found our Mexican food very tasty. Both the starters with baked nachos and albondigas in chili chipotle sauce and the main courses with burrito de tinga de pollo and quesadilla tinga were well seasoned but not too spicy. In addition, a nice restaurant and friendly and attentive service. A very nice evening.

Last night we had dinner at El Bigote and everything tasted very good. Authentic and very well seasoned. The service was friendly and accommodating. I find the atmosphere very appealing and you feel comfortable. We'd love to come back.

I am Mexican and I am in Germany for a season. We were looking for a Mexican food place but since we found EL BIGOTE STEAK HOUSE. WE ARE THE HAPPIEST. AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. the original flavor in each dish. It fascinates us, we go every time we can. I recommend the fajitas and the birria, which are a true gem. The service is excellent. We were there two weeks ago and were very disappointed. The food was honestly the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The nachos were no longer crispy at all in a sticky yellowish sauce, but were completely covered in the sauce. The cheese wasn't that great! The enchiladas looked really strange, completely covered in a dark brown sauce. It didn't taste good at all. The ambience is somehow strange, rather dark. I really wonder where all these good reviews are coming from. This is beyond weird! I've actually been to Mexico before and I don't remember the food tasting like that there. There were no non-alcoholic cocktails either. We've been to the Mexican restaurant in Bad Vilbel and Frankfurt many times and it was always very good, but that was really bad. Sorry, but you'll definitely never see us again.

The location is more like a bar and nothing Mexican...with purple velvet chairs. The service was a bit messy. The food was bad and not at all appealing to the eye as it was prepared. It looked rather disgusting. There were no non-alcoholic cocktails, nor were there any other drinks. You have to come to the counter to pay. All in all, it is not recommended there. Too bad about the money......sorry. It's hard to understand how there are so many positive reviews.

A friend had made a reservation there for her birthday and the table was decorated especially for her, a birthday garland was hung up and she got a small cake with a candle for dessert! I can't really understand the many good reviews. The ambience is ok, but doesn't have much to do with Mexican flair. It's the same with food. The food is rather bland. Spices that make Mexican cuisine taste authentic are completely missing and if the burrito contains mozzarella instead of melted cheddar cheese, that has little to do with Mexican cuisine.

Unfortunately, I can't understand the many good reviews at all. The ambience has almost nothing to do with Mexican flair. There are far too many tables in a small room. A few pictures on the walls and plastic flags on the ceiling don't bring any coziness into the room. For a lot of money you can get burritos, tacos, etc. without any side dishes with a little salsa and guacamole and a little bit of refried beans. Everything tastes bland, authentic spices that make the Mexican dish taste Mexican are completely missing and when there is mozzarella instead of cheddar cheese everywhere, that leaves a lot to be desired. Anyone who has previously eaten at Cubana or Crazy Kaktus knows what a real Mexican restaurant looks like and how it should taste. Neither the ambience nor the food is right here.

As a Mexican expat, it is almost impossible to find authentic Mexican food in Germany. One only finds Tex-Mex, or worse, Deutsch-Mex. At El Bigote, you get the real stuff. The ambiance is cosy, the staff friendly, and the food (and drinks) are delicious. If you want real Mexican food, there is only one place in the Main-Rhine region to go. Highly recommendable.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Mexican restaurant “El Bigote” and absolutely loved it. The ambience was cozy and inviting, with authentic Mexican decoration. The food was simply amazing. The guacamole was freshly made and tasted delicious, the tacos were seasoned perfectly. Recently there is also “Ceviche” which is simply great. I also tried a margarita and it was the best I've ever had. The service was also excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and very helpful in choosing dishes. If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in a cozy atmosphere then this is definitely the place for you. I will definitely come back!

Our visit to Bigote Restaurant was disappointing. The food was extremely salty and when we reported this to the boss she tried it and claimed it was ok. Additionally, her behavior was rude when she asked us to leave the restaurant. Overall the experience was very unpleasant and we will not be returning.

We visited the restaurant because of the good reviews, which we cannot understand at all. There were ten of us and all of our dishes were carelessly prepared, just thrown on the plate and completely over salted. All 10 dishes were inedible and we brought this to the attention of the waitress. She then called her boss over. The boss came, showed no insight and said in a very harsh tone: “My husband is the chef and I tried it. It's not salty." When we explained to her that ten people with different dishes not coincidentally all found the food to be salty, she came with a spoon, tried the food and insisted that it wasn't salty. Before we could answer any further, she told us to leave the restaurant immediately, which we did immediately. You rarely experience such poor service, unreasonable and argumentative bosses! I'll soon be leaving my money with the competition!

The food was authentic and tasted like it was in Mexico - no trace of frozen goods, everything freshly prepared. It takes a while, but it's really worth the wait. The portions are generous and well presented. The atmosphere was pleasant and not overloaded with clichés like ponchos and sombreros, which we really liked. The staff was super friendly, lots of Mexicans there 😉. It was our first time there, but definitely not the last time. Absolutely recommended if you want to eat like in Mexico 😄

Unfortunately I have to revise my review! The food is still top notch and the service is attentive! However, yesterday I paid 9.50 for a “Virgin Mojito”: a 0.3 glass with 5 ice cubes, water, sugar, lime juice and a bit of mint. Sorry, that's just outrageous! No restaurateur should be surprised if people only drink water or don't come at all! My suggestion that this was probably a bit exaggerated was simply dismissed. Very tasty and a very friendly and attentive boss! Happy to come back!

The best Mexican food I have ever had. Recommended shrimp tacos, Tacos al pastor and cuts of meat. The 300g fillet I ordered was cooked to perfection. It was a wonderful night. The attention was excellent.

Mexicans are mostly like that. Often overpriced with small portions and usually under the motto 'If it has corn on it, it's Mexican'. Recommended by a Mexican friend, I went to El Bigote for the first time yesterday. The ambience can certainly still be worked on, but the food, price and service are good. There was a lot going on, so reservations are advisable. My fajitas - super tasty. A little chunky due to the cheese and just the way I like it. The portion size was filling. The guacomole was a little too creamy for me. I like it chunkier. But the taste is great. The service was super friendly. At the end there was a tequila on the house. Am I coming back? Definitely yes. What am I missing on the map? A nice IPA. Even if it's just the Punk IPA.

One of the best restaurants in Hanau!!! There is a large selection of dishes and drinks and also a very large selection of delicious cocktails. The food and drinks were brought to the table very quickly. The staff was very friendly and the ambience was nice. Great value for money, the portions of the starter and main course were very large and super tasty. I can especially recommend the birria tacos, one of the tastiest dishes I've eaten in my life!
