Great place to stop for a bite to eat. Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food since we were only there for drinks, but the dishes served to the other guests all looked good. The waiter was simply fantastic, and the other waitresses were all very friendly. Next time, we'll come for dinner.

The homemade iced tea was amazing, and the tarte flambée was also fantastic! Friendly staff, good service. I highly recommend stopping by!

Today, on our hike through the Siebengebirge, we stopped at the Waldmannsruh Inn. The location is perfect under the trees, with shady and sunny spots in the beer garden. Whatever you like. The interior also looks very nice, but because of the nice weather, we enjoyed the beer garden. The service here is truly exceptional. The chef always has a cheerful saying on his lips. Orders are processed smoothly, and all the servers are extremely friendly and attentive. The drinks are well-chilled, and the food is just as delicious as the cake. If you pass by the Waldmannsruh Inn, you should definitely stop in; otherwise, you'll definitely miss out on a picturesque restaurant with great service and delicious food 😊

The Einkehrhaus isn't accessible by car. So you have to go by bike, on foot, or on a scooter! So, of course, there's no parking! At our time of day, Thursday, around 2 p.m., there were still plenty of nice spots available. We sat outside in the beautiful weather. Owner-run, you can have some really nice conversations with his family (if you like). The food was just as perfect as we needed it at that time. We had a great time there and will definitely hike by and stop by again. The post box in front of the entrance is cute. It's probably also used by hikers coming down from the Petersberg, for example! For orientation in the Siebengebirge, we recommend maps/a fully charged cell phone and, of course, sturdy shoes (so your feet can orient themselves as best as possible :-) ) Happy Einkehr :-)

The location in the middle of the forest is really nice if you are around for a hike in the Siebengebirge. The food is delicious and goes beyond the classical “German Wirtshaus”. You get a full restaurant type of experience, but also the smaller snack if you only want a little boost for your hike. The Service personnel is very nice and helpful. We go there maybe twice a year when we are on a tour.

Great food, a wonderful atmosphere in the beer garden, and above all, super friendly service. They even thought about our dog and provided large water bowls. Another positive thing to mention is that you can pay by card. We'll be happy to come back.

We were there on May 1st. We really enjoyed the fresh Maibowle, very tasty tarte flambée and the lovely ambience in the shady place. Despite the high workload that day, the staff were very nice and accommodating.

Very nice atmosphere, great for a walk in the winter and then ending the day with cocoa, coffee and potato crackers. Unfortunately it was closed over the holidays. But the staff celebrates Christmas and New Year. 👍

Walked past it again and again for many years, stopped by for the first time today. Very surprised at how many seats were reserved inside on a Friday lunchtime, we managed to get a comfortable spot in the dining room. We ate the goulash soup from the jar and the kale with Rhenish Mettwurst. We enjoyed both very much on this cold January day. Overall, we felt very comfortable in the rustic hut charm with the food and the service.

We had our wedding dinner with a small group in the retreat house. Excellent goose food and vegetarian alternatives. Attentive and familiar service, cozy atmosphere with great Christmas decorations. Highly recommended! Many thanks to the team at the Waidmannsruh Einkehrhaus!

We were there to eat goose. It was well attended and therefore full and loud. The tables were quite strangely positioned and you had to squeeze past them. The goose was juicy and tasty, but wasn't baked crispy. For me personally the dumpling was a bit bland. Because it was so loud, we decided to leave right after dinner. The service was very friendly.

A very good retreat. We were there for a goose dinner with 18 people. The food was very tasty and of good quality. What needs to be highlighted was the waiter Sebastian, who did his job in a friendly and humorous way and improved the mood again.

Cozy atmosphere and very tasty food. I can only recommend the goose meal, and the side dishes were so generous that the leftovers were lovingly packaged for us to take with us. Next year we will make reservations again for the roast goose at the latest.

I was there as a child and I'm totally satisfied as an adult too. The waiter knew the ingredients of the dishes and, as a vegan, also offered me alternatives <3

This inn is of course perfectly located in the forest, but it quickly becomes overcrowded (overwhelmed). The goulash soup that is served there is not goulash soup but a potato soup with some canned beef. So it's better not, at least not for the price.!!

Wonderful atmosphere, highly frequented especially over weekends and when the weather is nice. The staff is very friendly and engage with the customers in a chatty connecting way. The food is delicious!

Nice to sit on and from the outside. Coffee with eggnog was tasty but not hot enough. Unfortunately there was a bad sewer smell outside. Cheese and caramel cake too dry. Criticism of the ice cream was ignored by the waiter without saying a word.

A great opportunity to stop off while hiking. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is very nice and the food is delicious. The spinach dumplings were particularly great!

We always enjoy coming back and enjoying the waffles. But the tarte flambée is also very good. The atmosphere is beautiful in every season.

My wife and I held our wedding reception here after the wedding in the Ordenskommende Ramersdorf. The best decision after our wedding. The preliminary discussion to discuss the menu was characterized by a very personal, familiar atmosphere. We were served some unorthodox suggestions, including a grill buffet combined with Mediterranean-inspired side dishes. That convinced us. The second preliminary discussion about the wine list was also as relaxed as it was philosophical. We knew then that it was the right decision. You could tell how much verve and enthusiasm the restaurant management was putting into it, and that it was something with so much more passion than the umpteenth celebration in a run-of-the-mill conference hotel. On the day of the celebration, the organization was as perfect as it was flexible. For days afterwards, all guests, without exception, raved about the individual, authentic and rustic atmosphere as well as the superb food. The hit for everyone was the roast beef in the espresso chili marinade! Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Grewe, Mr. Eichelhardt, Sebastian and the whole team. Without you, our special day would not have been half as memorable. We'd love to celebrate with you again! Thanks!

Beautifully located in the middle of the Siebengebirge, easy to reach from Heisterbach Monastery, Magaritenhöhe and various other hiking car parks. Centrally located in the middle of the forest whether Petersberg, Ölberg, Löwenburg or Rosenau, everything can be reached with a comfortable hike. Ambiance, service and food are all harmonious and delicious. Definitely worth a visit. The old house is beautiful inside and out ingucker, you go on a journey through time. Simply wonderful!

Went there to drink cocoa and it was unbearably sweet. When asked about it, they said it was just normal cocoa? Probably with 10 teaspoons of cocoa? There was no offer to make amends with any other drink. Then ordered still water and received the wrong one and opened it and poured it. Complained again. Were there at a time when the weather was bad and nothing was going on.

The name initially suggests rustic oak and “There are only little pots outside!” think, but when you come around the bend on the hike from Drachenfels and see the colorful facade, the picture is put into perspective. And the cheesecake with poppy seeds is to die for.

A really fantastic place. The homely furnished house is idyllically located in the forest. Combined with the delicious food and the incredibly friendly staff, this is a perfect place to recharge your body and mind, especially if you are hiking in the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended.

A chic refuge in the middle of the forest, the house specialty is waffles. Unfortunately, the service is inadequate, with five conditions only one lady is responsible for paying. We only drank two beers and, after waiting for over half an hour, we finally handed the money to another waiter. Instead of the Kölsch we ordered, there was a Pils without any notice.

War das Ziel zum Mittagessen auf einer Wanderung mit der Firma. Haben zum Glück reserviert denn es war gut besucht, Essen sehr gut, Bedienung sehr nett, also wirklich zu empfehlen. Besonders gut sind Serviettenknödel mit Pfifferlingen. Auch die Kuchen sind hervorragend.

Stopped in on a hiking tour.....we had CurryWurst and fries with a delicious homemade sauce....well the food was good but the service and ambience were great.....we had a rest in the almost 100 year old "retreat house" felt very comfortable.

Great location…..beautiful terrace very inviting….and spacious in the middle of the forest. Finally Maibowle… very tasty. The asparagus soup with supercrevette that I ate according to the menu was a lot, but the content was very poor, little taste of asparagus with 3 small crabs on a skewer and no filling... The hot chocolate with cream and rum was amazing...and very rich

We always feel welcome in the retreat house. The service is always attentive and quick. The food is very good and there is something for every palate. Because we always liked it there, we celebrated our very big wedding there in October 2023. The owner had extensive discussions with us so that our wedding and the food were perfectly tailored to us. Our wedding was perfect. Big thanks to the retreat house and the team who did a great job. ❤️ (A few small impressions: see pictures)

We took a break here after a hike from Drachenfels and Petersberg. Very cozy atmosphere! We only had two beers but they were well maintained and the service was very attentive. We recommend!

After a complaint via email has not been answered, we publish the text here. Over the years, the Weidmannsruh Retreat has become an integral part of our hikes in the Siebengebirge. So far we have visited with various groups of hikers and were satisfied with the food/ambience/friendliness. Even during the Corona period, we liked to take a kale stew with us. Unfortunately, on our last visit we were not at all satisfied. The pumpkin soup this time was extremely sour, so much so that we had the impression that it was diluted with large amounts of orange juice. What's more, the terrine wasn't even half full. In addition, there were large amounts of ginger pieces with peel floating in the soup, which were very difficult to sort out only partially. The mulled wine also tasted more like very sour lemonade. Here too we suspect that he was stretched with an acidic drink. The acid and indigestible ginger peels caused stomach pain. We pointed out the problems to the very friendly waitress and she promised to inform the kitchen about them. After 10 minutes we asked and she told us that the kitchen wouldn't even talk to her at the moment. We understand if you are sometimes a bit overwhelmed by the rush of guests due to the staff situation. But it would have been better to sell the soup in good quality instead of stretching it. This was our last visit for the time being, we found another place to stop for a break where we are much happier.

Das Einkehrhaus ist immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Es ist urgemütlich, draußen kann man ganz toll sitzen, der Service ist super nett. Wir haben mal wieder die super leckeren Waffeln genossen.

Were there on a Sunday morning and had the hiking breakfast for 4 people. Price 16.50 without coffee which was added extra. Given that there was counted sausage and cheese, most of which came from packaging, at least that's how it tasted, the price is excessive in my opinion. Scrambled eggs were fresh and good. The service was friendly and quick. But overall there are better breakfast options in the western area

Wonderfully quiet location in the forest. Warm service. The coffee and the homemade cake made the hiker's heart happy. There was also some emergency power for the phone that had been drained by the hiking apps. Thank you very much and see you soon.

Highly recommended! Rarely have I had such a good waffle, very great and fast service and an extremely nice boss.

Ambience and location are great. Was there last year and ate pasta with green asparagus. If I were to rate it individually it would be two stars. Pasta was soggy, neither the asparagus nor the sauce had any convincing taste. So totally lame. The prices have always been relatively high and portions quite small and you can't be too hungry. And I think after the price increase in 2024 I won't be drawn there anymore, which is a shame in itself.

We were in the lower part with a group of dogs so that no one was disturbed and the dogs could still keep their distance. It was great, from the food to the service, we will definitely be back.

We always enjoy coming here. Unique location, cozy atmosphere inside and out, always friendly service, as well as delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices. Unfortunately there is no 6th star to be awarded. ;-)
