Edmond's Hexenhaus in Falkensee

We went to the Hexenhaus for our family post-Christmas dinner. It was a lovely and delicious experience. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, it's overpriced. The Christmas dishes on offer are good, but far too expensive compared to other restaurants with similar cuisine and high standards. A salad (starter) and a goose dish (a very small leg) cost almost €50. Otherwise, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the service and owners are very friendly. For us, coming from further afield in the city, one visit is enough to see the quaint little house.

Great restaurant in a lovely setting, especially at Christmas. The menu is small, but the food is delicious and fresh with wonderful flavors. Prices are reasonable; quality comes at a price. The service was very friendly. It was our first visit, and we'd love to come back.

We're writing this review while still buzzing from our visit and are absolutely delighted. Enjoying a three-course meal in such a charming little house, which is actually called Haus Waltraud, was a real treat. We felt comfortable right from the moment we arrived. Walking through the kitchen to our table created an almost familial atmosphere. We had the Christmas menu and were truly pleasantly surprised. Whether it was the soup or salad for the starter, or the duck leg or the Black Angus goulash, everything was superb, and the dessert was absolutely perfect. The waitresses who served us today were so warm and friendly that it made for a truly wonderful birthday celebration for my husband. I was especially pleased to be able to thank the chefs personally as we left. Even settling the bill was a lovely touch. Every single euro was more than worth it. We will definitely be back.

We were there on Saturday and it was magical 😍. A small, cozy restaurant with super friendly and attentive staff. A huge compliment also goes to the kitchen 😍👍. The food was delicious and the bread…😋… a treat even for those who don't usually eat bread. Keep up the good work!

We go there for special occasions, and yesterday was one of those days again, and we're always thrilled. The food (sea bream and duck leg) was divine; we haven't had such excellent food in a very long time. Thank you to the wonderful people there, whether chefs or servers, you're the best!

The two of us arrived on a Wednesday at lunchtime with a reservation. It was my first time there, in a remote corner of Falkensee where no one would expect to find such a beautiful house. The name is fitting, as this is where "Baba Yaga" lives; it's reminiscent of Hansel and Gretel – the witch's house in the fairy tale looks just like that! The exterior is made of oak trees, some of them split lengthwise and the smooth side facing the wall. The old wooden windows are perfectly fitted with double-glazed panes. The entrance is at the back of the house, and stairs lead down to the cellar. There, we were greeted and shown to a table on the ground floor, past the kitchen, and up a narrow staircase with a banister. Upstairs, there are several tables for two and four people, as well as one for six. We were shown to a table for two by the bright window, seated on old chairs with rounded seats and backs. We were given the menu and recommendations for what to eat. We each ordered a beer and took the opportunity to admire the beautiful oil paintings on the walls. The creamy broccoli soup arrives, and we devour it. It's served with homemade, fluffy white bread with a wonderfully crispy crust: mmm, delicious! Before the main course of duck leg arrives, we take the opportunity to climb another floor, naturally via a narrow, curved staircase! Upstairs, two tables have a button for champagne and a view outside. It's the perfect place to be pampered. The restroom is located at the very bottom of the cellar next to the kitchen—very narrow! The restroom itself is small, with the ladies' urinal on the right, followed by the gentlemen's urinal, and then the toilet with a seat. Right next to the urinal is the communal handwashing sink, complete with soap and paper towels—you really only need one to dry your hands. It's all quite cramped, yet cozy and rustic at the same time—simply enchanting. We'd had our fill of the view, and now the main course arrived: crispy roasted, yet incredibly tender duck leg with potato dumplings and red cabbage with apples, and a separate pan of duck jus. Simply delicious! We reluctantly skipped the baked apple dessert and coffee, keeping the bill under €30 per person. Dining in this fairytale setting is pure pleasure! We'll definitely be back! But we were told we need to book well in advance, otherwise there's no room, even in summer. Please don't spread the word, so it remains a hidden gem.

There's something truly special about dining at the Hexenhaus. From the beautiful, rustic ambiance to the warm welcome and friendly staff, to the excellent food. The themed evenings (art and culinary) are especially recommended. Admittedly, it's a bit of a stretch on the wallet, but it's worth it, and quality has its price.

I wanted to surprise my husband spontaneously after reading about it online. At first, we were also impressed by the architecture of the Witch's House. The service at reception was very friendly, but then nothing... Waiting, waiting, waiting... After 25 minutes, the server came and informed us that they only offered set menus and no special dietary options. That's a shame, it doesn't work for us. It was disappointing.

I was here for lunch today, as a friend invited me. The three-course meal was excellent, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. A thoroughly enjoyable experience! The restaurant looks very nice and inviting, both inside and out.

We were warmly greeted by Edmond himself on a cold, blustery and rainy Sunday. It is amazing to see how he prepares meal after meal from his small and cosy kitchen. I am so glad we discovered this "witch cottage" on a documentary on Brandenburg. A little out of the way but also a wonderful chance to explore the countryside amd such a unique restaurant. One suggestion from us would be to also offer a kid's menu perhaps? We were the only family with kids on Sunday but I am sure many families would be happy to visit. The service was warm and delightful, the prices reasonable for our 3-course lunch! I wish the team a lot of success and a big thank you from all of us.

My husband and I went to the Hexenhaus today, October 9, 2025, for a two-course lunch menu and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and delicious food! The chef was fantastic, the service was super friendly, and the manager was a lovely chat. We're delighted that it's now open for lunch from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. We go there as often as possible.

Today, for our anniversary, we had lunch at Edmond's Hexenhaus. We'd like to say a big thank you to him and his team for the wonderful hospitality and his unique, high-quality food. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back next year at the same time. Thank you so much!

On a walk four weeks ago, we visited our local gem, the Hexenhäuschen, because my mother had read about it and wanted to check it out. We didn't expect to get a table spontaneously, as reservations are recommended. But we were lucky; the garden was sparsely occupied on a Saturday afternoon, and the owner personally assigned us a table. Up until then, everything was fine; everyone was friendly. A quick bite to eat and a drink in the garden in the beautiful weather—that's all we wanted. However, after we "only" ordered a rather inexpensive appetizer and a drink, the service suddenly became really unpleasant. The waiter repeatedly explained to us at the table in the still sparsely occupied garden that we should make a reservation, as well as the guests at another table, and also explained where we should pay. My mother's plate was practically snatched from under her nose as she took her last bite; we should have finished our drink. The waiter wanted us to get rid of her as quickly as possible. It was truly unpleasant. In total, we spent about 30-45 minutes there. The chef is nice, the food is very good, but the service on this day was not. What a shame.

We celebrated our son's birthday here and will cherish the memory of our visit. The house and its history are truly unique and provided the perfect setting for our visit. We were served by a very professional and personable mother-daughter team. The food was a delight to look at and even more so to eat. Everything was just perfect. The prices are a bit on the high side, but ultimately, the stay was worth every single cent. We were thrilled and would gladly return when the opportunity arises. Went to "Tischlein deck dich" (a table setting), very friendly service, cool location!

Portion sizes could be a bit larger for the price, considering it's so delicious. The tents are unsightly and don't match the rest.

A unique ambiance! You can feel the witch's house, and the food was also magically good, wonderfully seasoned, and superbly presented across the board. Four of us went there, and everyone was thrilled. "We'll do it again!" was the unanimous response.

The Hexenhaus presents itself as "French cuisine" at upscale prices. The menu is limited. The food is served at tiny tables in a dark dining room. This is probably why the dimmable lights are placed on the very small tables. The chairs aren't particularly comfortable. Given the high prices, I expected the food to be very good quality. The appetizer and main course were too salty. Except for one pasta dish, all the other main courses had identical side dishes, which raises the suspicion that guests are served pre-cooked meals in this restaurant. If you're operating a chain restaurant, this should be communicated honestly. However, the prices would then be hardly justifiable. I find it alarming that the health department doesn't intervene when there are two restrooms, one for men and one for women, located right next to the "kitchen." I can't recommend the Hexenhaus and prefer to visit restaurants that employ a trained chef.

Very disappointed After the witch's house was praised to the skies everywhere, I was a guest and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. The food was very good, even though we had to wait almost an hour and a half for it. There was a very small selection, and when something on the menu is sold out on a Saturday evening at 6 p.m., when the restaurant opens at 4 p.m. and you're told that there have already been a lot of orders for it, you feel a bit ripped off. Furthermore, I found the hard, old wooden tables and chairs completely inadequate for the price-performance ratio, not to mention unloving. All in all, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Restaurant leider nicht Reinlich genug. Spinnenweben überall. Essen war durch die Bank nur Tiefkühlkost, unhygenisch zubereitet. Keinerlei Beachtung des HACCP Konzeptes. Abgelaufene Wahre wurde verarbeitet. Haare im Essen. Billigste Sellgros und Edeka Wahre zu horensen Preisen.

Wir kommen jedes Jahr aus Köln hierher. Durch einen Zufall bin ich auf das hexenhaus in falkensee gestoßen. Kurz entschlossen habe ich einen Tisch für 3 Personen reserviert. Wir wurden von einen sehr netten Chef und einer sehr netten Dame begrüßt. Zu essen hatten wir wolfsbarsch und Böckchen von irischen weiderind. Das Essen war echt spitze genauso wie der Service und das Ambiente.

From the outside it's a little witch's house, but from the inside it's more of a country house style. The outdoor area was pleasant, but a fresh treatment would do it some good.... if that's the way it's supposed to be, then please give it a proper look. Very pleasant service and Edmond? actually took the time and provided a little information about the history of the location. Very tasty food, but also quite expensive. As in everything...very good, there is something special....and we'll definitely stop by again at some point....

We had another wonderful evening at Edmond. This restaurant is truly something special – the atmosphere, music and delicious Edmond food make the visit a unique experience. The staff is very nice. We are really lucky that this great restaurant is so close to us. I would even take a long journey to get there. Dinner is always very romantic, and the "Sunday menu" (set the table) is a fantastic choice even with children, especially in summer in the beautiful garden. A big thank you to the entire team 😇

Today we were in the witch's house with six adults and three children. Everyone sat in the tower. It was an enjoyable evening from start to finish. The whole team, reception, service chefs get a Michelin from me 😘👍 We had a starter, main course and dessert of course also drinks 🍷 Everything was just really fabulous 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

A really great evening in Edmond's witch house in Falkensee! The Christmas menu was simply great. The poultry broth with wild herb dumplings as a starter was a perfect start. The French country duck leg with rosemary sauce, potato-bacon dumplings and apple red cabbage as the main course was delicious. And the baked apple mousse with juniper jelly for dessert was a great ending. There were two of us and the service was great. The house itself is really cozy and has a lot of charm inside and out. Overall, a successful evening that I spent at Edmond's Witch House. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

The small restaurant in the Hexenhaus is a true gem. As soon as you enter, you will be enchanted by the charming atmosphere and the atmospheric French music. The cuisine is a highlight – sophisticated, creative and clearly French-inspired. Every dish impresses with fresh ingredients and excellent preparation. There is also an excellent selection of wines that go perfectly with the food. The staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive and ensures an all-round successful experience. Due to its popularity, a reservation is highly recommended to secure a place at this culinary gem. Vegetarian/vegan dishes can also be prepared upon request. A must for connoisseurs!

Original place, strange ambience. Totally beautiful and magical. The food was in menu form on Sunday and was very good. Soup delicious, bread fresh and crispy, main course tender meat, delicious vegetables and great mash, dessert and the espresso were great. We had fun.
