EAT HAPPY in Gelnhausen

Last night, three of us spontaneously stopped by for dinner – and were more than pleasantly surprised. Upon entering the restaurant, we received a warm welcome and immediately felt welcome. The ambiance is stylish, cozy, and yet pleasantly quiet, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. We would particularly like to emphasize the time and attention the chef gave us: We were given detailed information about the current daily menu and received very competent advice. You immediately notice the passion and attention to detail that goes into the work here. The meal itself was a true highlight – perfectly flavorful, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. Everyone of us was delighted. Added to that is a fantastic selection of wines that perfectly complement the meal and round out the experience. We're certain: This restaurant is an absolute insider tip and will now be one of our new favorites – highly recommended, especially for wine lovers!

Our two-night stay at this hotel was unfortunately not as pleasant as we had hoped. The mattresses were very soft and already seemed worn out, which significantly impacted our sleeping comfort. In addition, the bed frame squeaked loudly with every movement and didn't seem particularly sturdy. The breakfast, which cost €15 per person, also failed to impress us. The selection was quite basic and uninspired. The rolls appeared to be pre-baked goods from a discount supermarket—only plain white rolls, with no whole-grain or bread options. The cold cuts seemed to have been placed directly from the packaging onto the plate, and the cheese consisted of irregular pieces that looked rather makeshift. The room itself was adequate and comfortably furnished. However, it should be noted that the bathroom is only accessible via a rather steep staircase—which is certainly difficult to avoid architecturally, but might not be ideal for every guest. The shower head was unfortunately damaged and no longer stayed in place properly; in addition, there were small mold spots visible on the silicone edge of the shower tray. The whirlpool shower tray itself was somewhat old and slightly yellowed, which somewhat diminished the feeling of comfort while bathing.
