Dürnbecker in Gmund a.Tegernsee

We were on a three-day short break at Lake Tegernsee and, as big fans of "Dahoam," stopped by Doreen's (two days in a row). The restaurant is very cozy and exceptionally decorated. You immediately feel at home. The food was freshly cooked with love by Doreen herself and was absolutely worthy of a five-star rating. To finish off, we tried Doreen's famous Kaiserschmarren, and we think it was the best in the world! Finally, we would like to mention their exceptional hospitality. Doreen and Wolfi are there for their guests with heart and soul. You feel as if you've always known each other. A birthday chat long after opening hours was a given for them. Dear Doreen, dear Wolfi (and dear Peter K.), it was truly a great pleasure to meet you. We'd love to come back next time we're in the area... and we're sorry we can't do it more often due to the distance (Upper Palatinate). For all readers: a clear recommendation in every respect. A truly fantastic restaurant with a very special charm! The style is a bit more unusual, which gives it a special touch – yet the ambiance is pleasantly relaxed and inviting. The service was absolutely top-notch: Our waiter, Wolfi, was super friendly, attentive, and warm – we felt completely in good hands. The Asian rice bowl was a real highlight – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. And the Kaiserschmarrn? Simply divine! The best I've ever had in a restaurant – fluffy, perfectly caramelized, and simply melt-in-the-mouth. We'd definitely love to come back! 🧡

The chef's touted creativity was clearly reflected in the dishes, but in this case, the milk foam and seemingly randomly chosen flowers were of little use. A focus on the essential elements of the meal would therefore be advisable.

We ate at Dürnbecker for the first time. The Strammer Max and cheese spaetzle with fried egg and fried onions were absolutely delicious. 👍 The chef, Doreen, really deserves more stars. They also cater to special requests; the Strammer Max was actually on the breakfast menu, and it was no problem getting it for lunch. 👍. The service was very friendly; Wolfi always had a joke on his lips, which we really liked. 👍. The ambiance was very nice and clean. When you come here, you simply feel at home. The atmosphere is human, and the food is freshly prepared with great dedication. My highlight is the Kasierschmarrn (sweet pancake) – it's addictive and incredibly good 😁 It's great that you exist.

I went to Dürnbecker with my mom for lunch today. The great service makes you feel completely at home from start to finish. The food is truly outstanding, so I have to give it a special shout-out! The two of them are a well-coordinated team, and the space itself immediately shows how much work and heart goes into it. So, all in all, a definite recommendation! ❤️👌

It's nice, clean, tidy and the food is very, very tasty. The landlady is particularly nice and we are friends because she is and was a very good actress. The food was good. The currywurst was a bit bland for my taste, but the cake was good. The waitress was super nice and friendly, but the lady was just so-so with her colleague (they could have been friendlier, or at least not in front of customers).

Best cheese spaetzle I've ever eaten!

We stopped here for lunch when we were arriving to Lake Tegernsee, as we saw that it was having really high reviews. The gentleman that served us was very kind, but that was probably the best thing about the experience. It took more than 30 minutes for the food (beef sandwich and gnocchi special), and the quality was so-so. The gnocchi was very oily but had a nice taste, and the beef sandwich was not great. The portions were not very large if you are hungry - we actually stopped for snacks afterward. The cost for 2 dishes plus 2 drinks and a large still-water was €68 😱 I know the area is touristy and prices are high because of that, but we had several other meals with more food and better quality for less.

The food was delicious. I had the best Kaiserschmarrn I've ever had there. Everything is fresh and homemade, which you can taste. The owners are incredibly kind and friendly.

Yesterday we had a lovely day with Doreen Dietel in the Dürnbecker Cafe/Restaurant at Tegernsee. The food was very tasty, especially the Kaiserschmarrn was really good. It is a place to feel good. To be honest, I haven't been there yet because I've been in Mallorca for seven months, but anyone who obviously makes great food and then responds to reviews (unlike Tantris, for example - really bad service) has already earned 5 points with skill, hard work and the right attitude. Maybe I'll celebrate my birthday there in May - I'm looking forward to it.

Yesterday I was at Doreen's with my sister. My sister was there for the first time and, like me, was totally thrilled. Doreen is always really sweet and the food is amazing. Plentiful and tasty And you won't find this atmosphere anywhere else. Keep it up

We were on holiday in Gmund and spent the first few days eating down by the lake. Unfortunately, we only discovered this great restaurant on our last day. It was by far the best meal and the most interesting restaurant we ate at in the Tegernsee region and the prices were fair. We wish we had discovered it earlier and come here from the start. You could taste that everything was cooked and prepared here freshly and with love. We also thought it was great to find pub classics like spinach dumplings or steak alongside Asian dishes on the menu. So there really is something for everyone. 5*** – very happy again!

Very nicely furnished with a really great concept behind it (which the boss personally showed and explained to us). Above all, I have never experienced such friendly and loving service in a restaurant. You can just feel good there. The selection of food is good and everything is freshly prepared, which you can see for yourself when you take a look into the kitchen. The food is beautifully presented and tastes extremely good. Even after the kitchen was actually “closed”, Doreen cooked something for us. Her husband Wolfgang is also an absolute asset to the restaurant. You really are a great team! I will definitely come here more often from now on. 10/10

We went there because of the good Google rating. And it was fantastic. They even cooked something for our little one that wasn't on the menu. The food was very tasty, the spinach dumplings were legendary and the service was very friendly. The Kaiserschmarrn was the crowning finale. Absolute recommendation!! and worth a visit if you are at Tegernsee.

We were at the Dürnbecker again today. There is so much good food that is freshly prepared in the kitchen. Great atmosphere included :) and what you shouldn't forget, super dog-friendly.

We registered shortly beforehand with 9 people. The extremely friendly landlady was alone in the kitchen and managed to quickly bring different dishes to the table at the same time. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. The innkeeper who provided the service was also very attentive. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again.

Here with our dear Doreen and Wolfgang it is really “first class”! The Dürnbecker impresses across the board: the food is more than just delicious – it is an experience for all the senses. This is where excellent taste meets beautiful presentation. You can immediately tell that every dish is prepared and prepared with great attention to detail. Dry cheese spaetzle, little cheese. Tasted like ready-made spaetzle warmed up in the pan, mixed with fast food fried onions. The fried egg on top is torn and the decorative milk foam with dried flowers on the side unfortunately no longer tastes good. I was really disappointed at the high price of 18 euros. (with cappucino 25.10 euros) I would have been better off getting a pack of ready-made spaetzle, cheese and onions from the Penny next door and the taste would have been better and cheaper. Sorry.

We visited the Dürnbecker for the second time today and can hardly wait for the third one! The owner, ambience and food were amazing :) Wolfgang also prepared a delicious coconut spritz for us upon request. Crystal clear recommendation :)

We ate Thai curry and Kaiserschmarrn here today in a very pleasant atmosphere. Both were excellent and thanks to the huge portion we will still have some of the Kaiserschmarrn tomorrow 😉 We were served in a friendly and courteous manner and the boss took the time to have a little chat. I give this 5 stars in good conscience (unfortunately there is no more) We'd love to come back when we're at Tegernsee again Unfortunately I couldn't select the Thai curry in the "Recommendations" section.

We were “stranded” there on the rainy Unity Day 2024 in search of good Kaiserschmarrn. What can I say, it's the best. In addition, the owner couple is absolutely friendly and fits the day of unity... All in all, an absolute recommendation, a little away from the usual tourist crowds in the Tegernsee Valley. We'd love to come back.

The Dürnbecker just around the corner from me has almost something of a cult status. Many guests come specifically because of Doreen, curiosity plays a role. But the restaurant doesn't just live from their popularity, it lives from their work and the range of food and drinks they offer. Good food, moderate prices and also space for neighbors who just come for a wheat beer or a spritz. The boss is always friendly, despite 12 to 14 hour working days. Unfortunately, we cannot agree with the great reviews for the Kaiserschmarrn. It was dry, firm and full of caramelized sugars. Unfortunately, the justified criticism is not well received by the boss. The service was very attentive and nice.

The madness! You won't find such good food in any star restaurant. Two such great, super loving people who put their heart and soul into it - and the food. Wow! Like I said, it was just “perfect”. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We stopped at Dürnbecker today because we really wanted to try the much-praised Kaiserschmarrn there and what can I say… we absolutely loved it! Best Kaiserschmarrn far and wide in the region! In addition, there is a very loving atmosphere, a very friendly and attentive owner couple and really very creative Spritz variants (coconut, ...). We will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend this restaurant :-)

Today we visited the Dürnbecker. A nice restaurant with a great selection of dishes, the boss (Doreen) cooks herself and is open to the guests' wishes. There is something here for young and old. Our little daughter enjoyed the small relaxation corner, which is equipped with coloring books and toys. You can tell that Doreen and Wolfgang really love children, love their job with all their hearts and that you are warmly welcomed. We really enjoy coming to her because you feel like you have arrived as a guest. Since I'm a currywurst fan, I had to try it at Dear Doreen's and I have to say it was the best currywurst I've eaten, the sauce was a pure taste explosion with a mix of fruity, sweet and a slight spiciness. Doreen & Wolfi are simply a dream team that you have to love. Thank you for your great hospitality ❤️

Hammer!!! Super nice people, both of them...very fond of children, very hospitable and the food was super delicious! In any case, nothing here is off the shelf...everything is prepared very individually and with attention to detail. We only got stranded here by chance, but it definitely won't be the last time. It was very nice with her. Very hospitable. I've always wanted to go to Dürnbecker. Unfortunately it took a while for appointments etc. Coming from Upper Palatinate... Unfortunately we couldn't eat there because we were in a hurry. but she showed me her kitchen, something a chef rarely does. I was a cook myself and I loved what she did. Even though the boss had to manage the shop single-handedly today, the food was really first class! Unfortunately there was only a limited menu due to the situation, but that wasn't a problem. The Thai curry was very tasty. The freshly prepared Kaiserschmarren was also very good. The prices were already high, but still within reason! The bar has been set very high for the new chef! We were here again after 2 years, everything was still great.

People! We have just eaten the best Kaiserschmarrn in all of Tegernsee... so so delicious! We “found” Dürrnbecker by chance, stopped in and had a really tasty meal there. - somehow special! Everything was freshly prepared, prepared with love and really tasted great! We will definitely come back on our next Tegernsee vacation. 100 percent recommendation 💯

Just WOW🤩 As we were passing through, we went to the Dürnbecker restaurant for the first time today and the tasteful furnishings immediately convinced us to visit. The food was an absolute pleasure, the Kaiserschmarrn in particular is highly recommended. It is freshly prepared and served with a lot of love. Even the eye is there. We were particularly impressed by the warm-hearted conversation by the boss Doreen, who embodied Trixi from “Dahoam is Dahoam”. Together with their partner Wolfi, known from the Charivari radio station, they have created an enchanting ambience. The two are a warm couple, friendly and dedicated to making their guests happy.

It was very tasty and we chatted a bit too — an all-round lovely evening!

Based on a recommendation, we made a reservation at the "Dürnbecker" during our vacation: it was absolutely worth it. The cheese pätzle, prepared a little differently, were very good. The Kaiserschmarrn was also excellent, also exceptional, you definitely have to try it! Definitely worth a visit to this restaurant. The dishes are freshly prepared and served with a lot of love. They're both really warm and you can tell that the food is freshly prepared with love. Garnished with casual sayings, you quickly feel at home and your wishes are also taken into account. It's also great that there's always warm food

Delicious food, preferably without meat, something different to the many Bavarian dishes. We recommend.

For me as "Preiß" it is a typical Bavarian inn that fully met my expectations. Service perfect and courteous, staff and owner alike. Dined there twice in the evening, roast venison or roast pork, very tasty. Rich breakfast buffet. I will stop there again the next time I stay at Tegernsee.

A short stop for a planned "quick" meal turned into 4 hours because we were treated to really good food and wonderfully cold beer. What a nice restaurant! The outside area is also wonderful, inviting and just great in summer! Super tasty food, large portions and on top of that the price was totally okay. Very dear owner who fulfills every wish, including my "strange" special requests. You can tell that the restaurant is run with passion. We'll definitely come back and eat our way through the entire menu (there's something for everyone). Service was also very attentive, quick and courteous. Was a great experience. We were at the Dürnbecker almost exactly a year ago and were very impressed with the food, the service and the ambience. It felt a bit like sitting in the living room with good friends and being pampered :-) Kaiserschmarrn and fries/currywurst were not only very tasty, but also very beautiful and prepared with love!
