DÜNE Restaurant & Beach - Zum Hiltruper See in Münster

Unfortunately, we didn't have a very pleasant evening; we didn't feel very welcome. On our reserved table, there was another "Reserved" sign for a later time (about an hour later). This wasn't mentioned to us after we made the reservation, nor was it mentioned when we arrived. In the end, no one came to take our table, which left a strange aftertaste. We asked for a children's portion during our meal, but the server told us it wasn't possible. However, we then overheard the staff at the next table saying they could. Empty bottles were cleared from our table while the server chatted with other guests at the next table, and we weren't asked if we wanted anything else. This continued throughout the evening. The fact that things like ketchup/mayo weren't brought to our fries, despite us ordering them, was actually a minor issue. It was a real shame. The food itself was good. But service is so important, and after this experience, we unfortunately can't recommend the restaurant.

I don't know a better place where they make doner kebab.

A truly great restaurant! The food was outstanding – both the pizza and the fish were beautifully prepared and very tasty. The ambiance is cozy and stylish, both indoors and outdoors. What's particularly nice is that the restaurant is super kid-friendly! The beach area has a comfortable seating area for parents while the kids can play in the sand – so everyone can enjoy a relaxed meal and drink. The drinks were also great – perfect for just stopping by for a drink. Highly recommended, I'd love to come back!

What a disaster! We were there for the second time with a group during a bike tour. We felt unwelcome throughout; the waiters were unfriendly and almost insulted that we wanted to order or pay. The older gentleman, in particular, was in a particularly bad mood and unfriendly. The food was rather mediocre. We definitely won't be back!

It was busy. We hadn't booked, but luckily there was still a table available. Tip: book in advance. Friendly staff and delicious food.

Sunday and packed! But... everything works out wonderfully! Delicious Veltins on tap! Great espresso! Pulco with vegetables is a dream! Spinaci pizza too! Lots of cyclists because it's on the cycle highway to Senden. Very friendly and good service! We'll be back!

Very nicely located outside, with a beer garden, a very extensive menu, you can eat and chat in peace without being rushed.

Great restaurant for day trips! Great location between Hiltruper See and the Dortmund-Ems Canal, where you can enjoy a shady stroll even when the sun is shining! The restaurant is very dog-friendly, and you can also sit outside with your dog! Pleasant beach atmosphere right on the canal! Plenty of parking is available. The food was really good (not cheap but very tasty), the portions were generous, and there are water bowls for the dogs, too. The restaurant's interior is a little dated, but it's clean and tidy! And the outdoor seating is really nice! We'd go back anytime!

Nice restaurant, good food, great location. Negative: The prices you find on the menu online are not correct. You will then be kindly informed of this. That is commendable. But it really can't be that hard to update the menu online. Even laypeople can do this with just a few clicks.

We had a wonderful time sitting outside on the chilled terrace with a beachy feel on the last summer day of the year and enjoyed a delicious meal (bruschetta, pasta with mushrooms and fish in a white wine sauce, and avocado salad). The super friendly service from the young staff rounded off the visit. Highly recommended!

We were at the Dune for the Christmas party. The saltimbocca is highly recommended. The Lillet also had the perfect blend. A friendly service team, a pleasant atmosphere, and good food.

A very nice place, whether you're out on your bike in the summer by the canal or inside the restaurant. The service is extremely friendly and attentive! We left again after 30 minutes when the waitress finally walked past us again after our colleague asked us to take orders. Then, while observing the neighboring table, who had their 4 drinks delivered individually 5 minutes apart, we decided not to invest the expected additional hour for a coffee...

30 people were accommodated for a short time per week and fed attentively in a great atmosphere. Rare combination of flexibility, quality and service. The new tenant can do something 🍴🍖🍻😋

We just had a drink and it was very chaotic. Ordering took a long time and we ordered an Aperol and a non-alcoholic Weizen. When I paid it turned out that it was normal wheat (with alcohol)! In my case it wasn't too bad but an absolute no-go in the restaurant. This can really go wrong...

Unfortunately the quality of the food, the service and the friendliness of the staff have declined. We always enjoyed coming because of the proximity to the cemetery and the great atmosphere. The last two times we were pretty disappointed. We would be happy to give you another chance to do better.

We had to rebook very spontaneously with 13 people and immediately got a long table put together. Since the weather cooperated, it was even better. Upon request, the children received special creations that are not on the menu. That says a lot of good things about a restaurant. It's also a great place to stop for coffee or a piece of cake.

Pretty run down, if you like Eastern European rustic, you've come to the right place!!! Price performance is not in proportion Nothing special . Plus waiting at the stairs, what's the point???

A nice place to stay. Deck chairs in the sand create a beach feeling. Unfortunately, the quality has fallen by the wayside, I'm happy to spend 2/3 euros more, but then I don't want a pre-breaded schnitzel from the chest... and as can unfortunately be observed in the entire restaurant industry, the lack of staff means that the service here is also impeccable not possible. Tables are numbered, but it is often not possible to assign the food and drinks (?)... but the service is friendly and tries to do its best.

We ordered the food and then waited for almost 1 hour. After we asked how long we should wait, we received the answer that we hadn't ordered anything. We're probably idiots for waiting 1 hour without ordering. We experienced something like this for the first time.

Once and (unfortunately) never again. Ambiance is great...unfortunately that's about it. The food doesn't match the price/performance ratio. The prices on site are more expensive than the menu on the website. Schnitzel is fried and tastes like it and is drowned in sauce. The accompanying pepper cream sauce has no peppery taste and the sauce with chanterelles feels the same, except that you have to look for the chanterelles (or leftover chanterelles) in the sauce. Unfortunately, I don't know why all the ruccola leaves were under the schnitzel. The Tartufo Pistachio I ordered was chocolate ice cream with some vanilla (or whatever) in the core, which was overloaded with chocolate sauce and was also unfortunately full of ice crystals. The complaint about wanting to return the dessert was taken up by the waitress and that was it. No apology, no reaction, nothing :-( I know service differently. So it was a disappointing and one-off visit without any recommendation. It's a shame, because the ambience was obviously good.

The Pinot Gris is simply too expensive at 7.90. In the online menu it is given as 7.20.

Düne Restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Firstly, the parking situation is a nightmare; there are far too few spaces available, making it a hassle just to get in the door. Once inside, the ambiance does little to improve the experience. The building itself feels outdated and in need of some serious renovation. As for the food, it was rather underwhelming. The quality seemed cheap and lacked the flavor and freshness I had hoped for. Overall, I can't say I'll be rushing back anytime soon. There are definitely better dining options in the area.

Danger: Toilet not barrier-free! It would be nice if the bank was cut and you could see a little more of the water when you sit on the terrace, but some authority is definitely responsible for that. 😉

On July 6th, 24 we celebrated our Caribbean party here. The entire process exceeded our expectations. Preliminary discussion, organization, process up to the final discussion, everything was just right. Very tasty food, praised by our guests. Amir and his crew responded flexibly to all requests. We went there for dinner based on the reviews and pictures of food. It was well attended, the atmosphere with the canal view is very nice. Unfortunately, they were probably quite understaffed. We received drinks quite quickly, but after that no one came to take our order. We actually had to go and tell a waiter to order. So the starter was bruschetta, which was quite tasty. Small drawback here: the bread slices were super thin, more like bread chips Unfortunately we had to wait forever for the main course (1 hour). Empty glasses were also overlooked and people only asked late if they wanted something to drink. The schnitzel was very well prepared and beautifully tender. The linguini were okay, but didn't fill me up. Unfortunately, the beef steak strips were also a bit mushy and tough. So I ordered the tiramisu for dessert, which was really delicious and made up for the lack of service a bit. It's recommended, but a bit expensive for what you get.

Even if we "only" drank, the staff were really friendly. Because of the incoming rain, the awning was extended and we were treated very nicely as a bicycle group.

We were there with a large group. It was pretty tightly planned in a tight space for the group size. The food was quite good so far, but the fries could have stayed in the deep fryer longer. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the spaghetti pesto prawns. Due to the large group size, I felt sorry for the surrounding guests as it became louder and louder in the small, narrow space so that people could understand each other. The waiters were super nice, friendly and made the best possible out of the situation.

We wanted to have a drink with our child outside. First we waited at the sign that said we were being taken to a place. Several waiters walked past us without paying any attention to us. Unfortunately, there were a lot of cigarette butts in the piled up sand area at the front. The rear sand area, especially for children, was dirty with cigarette butts, and a floor grate right next to the sand area had collapsed so that small children could easily fall in there. The service outside was virtually non-existent.

Great idea for a location on the beautiful canal cycle path! Super practical to stop off and take a break with a nice cold drink, a snack or warm food. Coffee and cake are also offered. Nice, simple outdoor area. In principle everything is ok, just the old saying again: “From € 10 onwards you can pay by card!”. I still give it a full 4 stars and will come back with cash next time!

Ordered dishes from the asparagus menu, for 4 sticks of asparagus with 3 pork medallions and 3 small potatoes, price for this small portion 24.95 euros if it had tasted it would still be okay. I will not visit this restaurant again and will not recommend it.

We discovered the restaurant during a short vacation. The food and service were perfect. So we were there twice during that time. Unfortunately it's too far for us to go there for a quick meal, but when we're in the area again we'll happily eat there again. We felt very well looked after.

Unfortunately I have to deduct a star. The staff is very friendly, but forgets very quickly. I noticed it at several tables, including mine. Nevertheless, I will continue to visit this restaurant.

On Friday we had coffee and cake there and on Saturday we also had dinner. Unfortunately the waiter didn't know whether the cake was sweet, so I didn't take one. The others said it wasn't that sweet. Saturday we ate pizza. It was tasty and the service was good too. The staff was friendly.
