Such a beautiful atmosphere. Very friendly and food like your mother's.

It was the last time here. Too bad! Again some originality is lost.

One of the most beautiful restaurants for me and we hope so much that they don't have to close, it was always our go-to place in Dresden, where you could eat comfortably and well and it's affordable on top of that. Wonderful!

The waiter does not speak English and is quite rude. She didn't bring us still water as we ordered but sparkling water. When we complained, she spoke some German and refused to replace it. Finally, they also refused to accept card payment.

Great place, but afterwards everything smells of fried food and smoke -> the smoking lounge downstairs is nicely furnished, but spreads its scents all the way up. So if you wash everything afterwards, including your hair, it's a great experience to eat there.

Surrounded by many restaurants with fancy food names and equally imaginative prices, this beautiful little restaurant is located on a quieter side street. The facility lives up to its name. You feel comfortable, the service (rated three visits so far) is quick and friendly. The dishes that we know from the past, which are rarely available elsewhere, are freshly prepared and the waiting time for them is okay and not excessively long. The prices are absolutely reasonable. It can continue like this!

You first have to find them, the junk taverns. A must for me and my family when we are in Dresden. For someone who comes from the southern Harz, where there is nothing left except kebab, Greek, McDonald's or schnitzel, a revelation. Beef tongue, dead grandma and mustard party... wonderful 😄 All of this in a bizarre ambience. And a surprising number of locals eat there... an absolute tip for me 👍

Be sure to visit! What a gem in the middle of Dresden. Original dishes, just the Eierschegge 😉 a poem. There is something new to discover in every corner. The staff was nice, one lady looked like Miss Rottenmaier from the Heidi films. Splendid. Conclusion: highly recommended!

The ambience seems overloaded with the many large and small collectibles. The service is very friendly and you don't have to wait long for your food. It also tastes good and that's why I can recommend the Trödelschenke.

I was choosing between this place and the Turkish restaurant across the street—still regretting my choice 😫. The food was overly salty, awful, and left me with a hurting stomach afterward. Honestly, not enjoyable at all. Giving 2 stars only because the interior was cozy and welcoming.

Truly extraordinary! Good home cooking to fill you up. Ambience lovingly furnished with attention to detail. Very decent prices. The service is attentive and very friendly. Ostalgie charm in a positive sense right down to the simple tin cutlery. What I liked best was the beautiful “smoking room” (3rd photo) in the basement on the way to the toilets.

If you don't speak German, you will find it unpleasant, they will not try to find you a table, take orders from people who came after you but speak German and give you just one menu in English. Extremely understaffed restaurant. We waited for 45 minutes for 3 of the same dishes. Interior is nice.

The Trödelschänke offers cozy and rustic furnishings; you feel like you have been transported back in time. The staff is friendly, the food is tasty, the portions are large. However, the prices (as of 10/2024) do not match those on the website... everything is 2-4 euros more expensive, the 1/2l beer is 5.50 euros, but that is to be expected for the city center.

Extremely good food in a fantastic antique flea market atmosphere. If you like the table and chair you sit on, you can simply buy them after your visit and take them home.

We were looking for another place, got lost and ended up here hungry. We were more than surprised, generous portions and the fried potatoes were really fried potatoes. We haven't gotten better anywhere. The service was totally friendly, so we were completely satisfied.

Old school German restaurant that is cash only. Some wait staff only speaks German. Which is fine, since we are in Germany, but be ready to point at the menu for what you want. Looks like there is a lot of history here. No AC, so it can get quite warm.

Been here twice so far. I love the shop and the people who work here. Please go there diligently everyone.

The food is at the level of a poor milk bar. A terrible interior - a stuffy storage room pretending to be a stylish living room. But very nice service.

We were in Dresden this weekend. A friend gave us the tip to stop here. The atmosphere was like my grandma's used to be, very rustic. The food was really tasty, good plain food. We were warmly welcomed and served. The cake also looked good, but unfortunately it didn't fit anymore ;). I would eat here again at any time. Thanks

I give 5 stars for the food - a short menu is an advantage - there is no reason to invent things since they are delicious home-made dishes. Perfect if you want to try German cuisine. 5 stars also for the waitress - the lady is nice, smiling, she will advise you if you don't really know what you are ordering 😉 The decor of the place is whatever you like - for someone the atmosphere may be great, while others will think it's a cluttered place. We were sitting outside, so it didn't matter. However, there are two minuses - payment only in cash, which we found out when we wanted to pay. It was very surprising, but ok, maybe there was a failure. Fortunately, there is an ATM nearby. After a while, it turned out that there was no failure, because we didn't receive a receipt, only the handwritten order and prices on a piece of paper. Therefore, I have great doubts about the honesty of the owner. Pity.

Very good home cooking. Unfortunately, drinks are expensive: I don't even pay 3dl of open rhubarb spritzer for €7 in Switzerland! Please correct the drink prices downwards!

A little journey back in time to my childhood, like my grandma, that's how I felt. The ambience and the food, like it was my childhood. We felt very comfortable and it tasted very good. Good home cooking, very lovingly prepared. THANK YOU, we'll be back.

Thank you for allowing us to eat with you. When we were with you you had schnitzel day. The schnitzel with fried potatoes, once with vegetables and once with mushrooms, were incredibly delicious. I ordered sauce to go with the vegetable schnitzel. That was also delicious. Lo and behold, in the middle of the tourist district, free of charge. Where else can you find something like that? In general, your prices are really fair. There really are still people who won't rip you off. You were very friendly, courteous and attentive. Then we exchanged a few private words. Really nice. We felt very comfortable with you. Your restaurant has a really rustic atmosphere. And we will recommend you. Kind regards from the Rhineland

The restaurant is very picturesque. It feels like you're eating in an antique store. The food is typical German and simple. They do not accept cards, only cash.

The whole restaurant is full of “junk” furnishings. We thought we were traveling around 1960.

I definitely do not recommend it. Long wait for food (1 hour+) in a half-empty restaurant. Unpleasant service, does not speak English. Change of attachment without explanation. Payment in cash only. The constant beeping of the microwave from the kitchen is very unprofessional.

Were in Dresden at the weekend and discovered the Trödelschenke, food is so good, service is overwhelming, ambience a bit chaotic but interesting. Since we are often in Dresden, we recommend Café Antik, which has satisfied us in every respect over the years. The Trödelschenke should implement improvements in all important areas so that its reputation is as good as that of Café Antik.

I can't comment on the food as we didn't get any, but the treatment from the staff was subpar. Unfortunately, this left such a lasting impression that we will never visit the restaurant again.

It's been a long time since I've been to the Trödelschänke with my family. The service is very friendly, there was a game box for the child which was immediately explored with curiosity and the food is amazing. Like Grandma's. I can highly recommend the Eisbein :)

Price per dish around €20, we chose a bit at random since the menu was all in German and without any description of the dish. However, it is rich in flavor. Our low rating is due to the service, the lady who runs it makes no effort to communicate with the customer and practically doesn't even look at your face.

Mal was anderes als die vielen Restaurantketten in Dresden. Die Einrichtung ist vom Trödel, stimmig und irgendwie DDR Zeit. Das Essen gute Hausmannskost zu akzeptablen Preisen. Die Bedienung war freundlich.

A chance encounter while walking through Dresden. From the outside, it's very appealing for people who like things to be a little rowdy and nostalgic! The visit-to-Grandma act is carried out completely! Great! Nice hospitality and nice atmosphere with freshly tapped beer! I like it! For dinner there was soup, roulades and once aspic for the three of us. Everything tasted exactly how it should taste! Simply delicious! For dessert there was very good egg pie and cold dog. Also very fine! A great evening for us at the Trödelschänke!

20 minutes of waiting for the waitress, after approaching the bar and trying to place an order, the waitress still told us to wait and responded as if we were punished. I do not recommend.

5/31/24 the food was really bad. Burnt fried potatoes, bratwurst like a toddler, overcooked potatoes and Champion's sauce indefinable. Plus something like wine spritzer instead of wine. Never again

A restaurant with a touch of the past, excellent food just like grandma's, I highly recommend it, you can only pay in cash.

The ambience and the outdoor area seem very inviting. The cake, however, looked and tasted thawed, which even the large mountain of whipped cream couldn't cover up. The service was abrupt and not particularly hospitable.

The first impression and reviews were great, decorated like a flea market, quaint and beautiful. We ordered drinks, water and beer which we received quickly. Then we ordered 4 meals and then .....1 hour and 4 minutes later the waitress came and told us food would be coming soon. She seemed very overwhelmed, which is probably why she took a smoke break at the other table. Then the food came 1 hour 15 minutes after ordering but unfortunately only 3 out of 4... strangely enough, the daughter's meatloaf was brought to the wrong table (probably someone I knew, just say it was a smoke break🧐🤔.) And if I hadn't had to go to the toilet I wouldn't have noticed that payment was only possible in cash. But the plus points were the food. Everything was bombastically delicious and special... a ray of hope... well the saying quality takes time applies here. Dresden Trödelschenke that was probably nothing.

I was recommended the restaurant by a friend. The atmosphere is very sweet, like you're visiting grandma. The food didn't quite remind me of grandma's (liver cheese with fried eggs and fried potatoes) but the dessert (cold dog) was very close. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and I think she took care of 6-7 tables alone, which today's waitresses can learn a thing or two from. Top. So if you're in the mood for German cuisine again, you've come to the right place.

Auf google nach einen Restaurant in der Nähe des Hotels gesucht und dieses außergewöhnliches Lokal gefunden. Trotz dem Trödel-Look sitzt man sehr gemütlich und fühlt man sich in keinster Weise eingeengt. Das Personal war sehr nett und das Essen super lecker. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut. Die Leber war sehr gut und der marinierter Hering einer der besten, die ich je gegessen habe.

Ambiance fully lived up to its name. You really felt like you were at a flea market. The food could have been warmer and I don't remember a beefsteak with sauerkraut at all. I preferred to take it with red cabbage and got it after the second attempt. Our server was courteous and funny.

I sat at the table to which the waiter escorted me for 10 minutes without any further attention to my person, while several people who came after me were served. The waiters passed by, stood nearby, but it was as if I didn’t exist. I don't like to give bad reviews, but this was a very unpleasant situation.

Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir zunächst länger nicht bemerkt. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne. Wir saßen aber auch draußen. Ansonsten kann ich nur Gutes berichten. Leckerer Kaffee, beste Eierschecke aller Zeiten, zügiger Biertransfer, sehr originelles Ambiente. Die Bedienung war nett und aufmerksam. Es waren, was ich als gutes Zeichen deute, auch viele Dresdner zu Gast. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Ach, und es gab gut gekühltes, gezapftes Feldschlösschen Bier.

I would like to send the owner to look for an ATM with such hospitality. They know that they are located in the tourist center of the city, not all tourists are used to carrying cash with them for a restaurant, like the Germans!!!

Terrible service. Cash payment only. They forget the orders. They are not Kinderfreundlich. They don't seem to like foreigners. And I could continue the list of negative things I can say about this place. Worst restaurant experience I had in Dresden. The only good thing about the place is the size of the portions.

Super nice, unique atmosphere but unfortunately that was it. We were absolutely not happy with the food. I like good, down-to-earth home cooking, but unfortunately this didn't suit our taste at all. Both my food and my partner's were very oily. We weren't impressed with the taste either. Price performance is absolutely not right. When we placed our drink order, large drinks were brought to us (without further inquiry), even though they weren't even listed on the menu (neither size nor price). We were so shocked when we saw the prices on the bill. Absolutely overpriced. My partner didn't just have a hair in his food, but a whole clump. The waitress was visibly uncomfortable, she apologized and took the plate back to the kitchen. 20 seconds later she came back with the SAME plate. All they did was remove the tuft and put a dollop of new sauce on it. ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! This is not how you treat paying guests. My partner then lost his appetite. Since he hardly touched his food, only half of the meal was charged.

We found it very comfortable. The food was simple, tasty, good. The service was very friendly. You immediately felt like you were meeting people you knew. Those were the days , a cool, cozy restaurant, with a homely atmosphere. Dishes are created here that are reminiscent of the old GDR times. It was something for the eye and taste buds. Perfect all around. We warmly recommend you.
