Rustic atmosphere, delicious food and great beer. And the whole thing was served very nicely. Recommendation.

Good food and very, very, very good, awesome, homemade, delicious 🍻. We would very, very, very much like to come back.

The food was really amazing, i ordered the “schwabenpfanne” and the pork fillet was delicious and tender, i also had the “chocolate fondant”, which is a lava cake and some vanilla ice cream aside, the chocolate cake was really tasty id definitely order it again. The traditional swabian dishes are really good our table had a combination of all of them, but also the changing week menue had some good recreations of the swabian dishes. All in all an amazing experience, will come again 💕

Had our annual dinner yesterday 😄 I had a fillet plate with cheese spaetzle and salad 😕 unfortunately the meat was very dry and over-fried. The cheese spaetzle were loveless, dry and the cheese wasn't mixed in properly 😢 the cream sauce tasted like packet sauce. Salad was okay... It's a shame, I had hoped for more according to the reviews and the chefs should cook with more love. 😢

Complete disappointment. We had invited friends who were looking forward to the Swabian food. All 10 participants were very disappointed with the food. Personally, I chose a turkey schnitzel. Soggy fries lying in fat, the turkey schnitzel is cartilaged and baked together from pieces and breaded. Honest cuisine looks different. We will not enter this house again.

Das Essen ist allerdings sehr durchschnittlich. Meine Käsespätzle waren Recht geschmacklos und der Rinderbraten meiner Frau knochentrocken. Satt sind wir geworden, toll war es nicht.

ONCE AND NEVER AGAIN! We were there for dinner with seven people. Based on the reviews and the long-standing tradition, I thought I could give my long-traveled visitor an insight into Swabian cuisine. The service was ok, except for a few little things. As an example, I wanted to know if there was caraway in the Obazten because I don't like it. They said no, we ordered and there was caraway in it. It can happen - it wasn't that bad. The main dishes were really problematic! I don't know who's in the kitchen, but this person definitely hasn't trained to be a chef! The food here is rather expensive and I expect appropriate craftsmanship! The rump steak was ordered in English, was cut in half - probably to see the doneness (not possible) and then it was cooked through! The service responded well and responded, the kitchen put another cut piece of meat back on the same plate and delivered it again. Now everyone can form their own opinion on this... By the way, the dish costs €30!!! The cheese spaetzle was a complete disaster! Mushy mass, without taste and far from “Spätzle”. The “cream sauce” was extremely reminiscent of bagged sauce and was almost inedible! The Cordon Bleu (2 pieces) had little to no cheese and was anything but tasty. Theoretically you could have eaten the schnitzel, provided you hadn't covered it with the bad cream sauce, which also made the rest of the dish inedible! Really the only food that was edible was the roast pork. The consistency was ok, the sauce was good and the salads were also ok. All in all, none of us could understand the many good reviews. Nor the long-term existence... No one at the table was happy with the food and especially not for this price! So we paid the bill of well over €200 and left the “restaurant”. I have never been as ashamed before my visit as I was that evening! That was the first and definitely the last time!

We were there with about 30 people in the Christmas awning. The kitchen was on point. The waitress didn't manage to serve the food warm. The owner held on to the tap. We got cold food and left thirsty. Tip, please don’t skimp on staff 🙏

I had dinner here with my friend today and unfortunately we were disappointed. My friend had a cordon bleu, the ham in it was completely tough, which made chewing and cutting very difficult or even impossible, and the ham was also very salty. I had cheese spaetzle, if you can call it that, unfortunately most of it only consisted of spaetzle, unfortunately hardly any cheese and generally relatively tasteless.. The salad with it was okay. I have to say that we already ate here once in 2024 and the food was really tasty, maybe there was a change of ownership/new chef?? The ambience is fine, the location is quite quiet and the service was also ok, so the one star rating mainly refers to the food

Very nice location, with a large outdoor space perfect for the summer. All good, but portions very small compared to the average of the place where everything is plentiful.

Leider nie mehr. Wir haben den Tisch für 4 Personen 1 Monat vorher reserviert. Wir wurden an einem lieblosen Hochtisch plaziert. Nach Reklamation wurden wir an einem normalen Tisch plaziert. Wir bestellten zur Vorspeise 4x gemischter Salat. Zur Hauptspeise 4x Rinsroulade mit Spätzli und Rosenkohl mit Speck. Noch beim trinken des Aperos kam bereits der Salat, Nach 5 Minuten kam bereits das Essen. Der Salat war das Beste. Die Rindsrouladen waren zäh, die Spätzli matschig, sie schwammen in einer lieblosen Bratensauce, der Rosenkohl aus dem Wasser, nicht durch und mit ganz wenig Speck wenn überhaupt. Das Personal stettig wechselnd nicht seht freundlich. Alles in allem kein schöner Aufenthalt. Wir kommen wenn überhaupt nur noch auf ein Bier im schönen Biergarten.

Be careful, with the Drei Kannen Spezial you will be charged an additional 25 EUR deposit for the jug. Be extra careful when billing otherwise you'll pay 40 euros for 2 liters of beer - hopefully the waitress was at least able to pocket that as an additional tip...

Since I have a lot of vegetarian friends, it's really nice to see that a German restaurant offers more than just cheese spaetzle. Super tasty dishes with something for everyone, a rustic atmosphere and the service is great. Finally a restaurant that doesn't just rely on inexperienced temporary staff. The interior is a bit dark with all the wood, but in the summer you can sit nicely in the yard.

The ambience is reminiscent of rustic times and the food is reminiscent of good home cooking. Can't say anything bad, service was good. Edit: We were there again on Sunday evening the 29th and, comparing our previous positive review, were able to add another experience. This time we sat in the fireplace area and the ambience is still very attractive, but this time we were served by a different man who can hardly be surpassed in terms of rudeness. Complaining that you didn't hear the popular food is still understandable. But when you go out to smoke outside, complaining about the guests and having prejudices and more is pitiful. We are very sure that we are not an isolated case. We'll be happy to come back, just with the nice lady or the other guys.

Were there on December 25th, 2024. Unfortunately, the food had little taste and was lukewarm and cold. The (side) salad was good, the other dishes not so much. The service was good. Will not go there again in the future and will not recommend the restaurant.

I ate a Swabian pan. The food was quantitatively a lot, but poor quality for a hefty price of 25 euros. The cream sauce was completely unseasoned and bland. Some of the meat was poorly seared and burnt in some places. The food was only lukewarm (probably because the food was served in a cold cast iron pan, which took the heat out of the food). The problem with the lukewarm food also occurred to other guests at neighboring tables. The ambience was overall appealing, but the dark wood paneling spoiled the coziness. The service staff were very friendly and very committed.

Wir waren 15 und haben das Essen schon vorbestellt. Leider wurde das nicht berücksichtigt und deshalb haben wir 1,5 Stunden auf unser Essen gewartet und dieses war auch noch schlecht. Wir hatten zusammen mehrere von den großen Schwabentellern und auf den „Tellern“ war wirklich nichts gut, Fleisch trocken, Würstchen kalt, Spätzle matschig…. Das Essen war teuer, aber leider nicht gut 👎🏻

There were 15 of us and we had already pre-ordered the food. Unfortunately this was not taken into account and so we waited 1.5 hours for our food and it was also bad. We had several of the large Swabian plates together and there was really nothing good on the “plates”, meat dry, sausages cold, spaetzle soggy…. The food was expensive, but unfortunately not good 👎🏻

We were there in a larger group and all the meat dishes were inedible. Mostly tough and dry, especially the turkey meat tasted somehow “old”. The vegetarian dishes are okay. It's a shame because this used to be a very good restaurant! We won't come anymore.

Nice beer garden Unfortunately it was very low in salt. Despite asking, I couldn't get any salt to season it. Ready sauce and Maultaschen lukewarm. Unfortunately nothing happened. Addendum to the review... I received an email today about my review being deleted because I supposedly didn't eat there. Since when do you introduce yourself by name when being served and are your names saved? An unparalleled impudence. I have to submit invoices to prove that I was there. The inn will definitely not see me again with such business practices. And by the way...we were 20 guests and had made reservations for the Weilheim family association. It definitely won't happen again

The waiter was super friendly, the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated in a rustic style. We had a Christmas party with around 60 people, despite the fact that we had chosen the food 3 weeks in advance. The chefs were apparently completely overwhelmed, sometimes the food came 2.5 hours later and it was anything but good. I will not make a private trip to this restaurant.

A good place to learn a little about the history of Ulm although with indifferent service without being rude or willing to fix defects. The pork was perfect although the schnitzel left a lot to be desired. Recommended to come once and see the historical places.

Pleasant atmosphere. We were a medium-sized group (reserved) Food and drinks were very good. The table was well placed. Unfortunately, the dishes were served differently and one meal was lost. But it was probably due to the large crowds. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Price performance definitely doesn't fit here. Kässpätzle do not taste as expected, worse than any Kässpätzle ready meal. Spaetzle seems like frozen goods, just like schnitzel. Definitely my last visit. It's a shame given the good reviews, I would have expected a lot more.

We had our Christmas party here. The food wasn't good. At least four colleagues sent the food back. I myself had the "Drei Kannen Schnitzel", which was a natural schnitzel, but definitely not from the top dish. It was quite tough and the cheese spaetzle was a tasteless "mush". Only the Asian service was friendly and deserved a plus point.

Shrinkflation in perfection! I had ordered half a knuckle with bread dumplings, but what I received was a quarter knuckle - a fraction of what you would expect. In terms of taste, there is no comparison to the generous and delicious portions at Barfüsser. The knuckle was also served lukewarm and could hardly have been considered a real meal. The service? Mediocre and half-hearted, without any commitment. But the absolute low point was the apple strudel: a tiny portion, accompanied by an equally small scoop of vanilla ice cream - and that for a whopping €10.10. A real nuisance! If you are looking for authentic and decent Swabian or Bavarian cuisine, you are much better off at Barfüsser, Herrenkeller or Brezel in Ulm. There is not only high-quality food there, but also a generous and fair price-performance ratio. Conclusion: Here – never again!

Overall, we left with an excellent impression and will definitely come back: great food, pleasant atmosphere, good ratio between price and performance. Recommended!

Very good food. Unfortunately we were asked to leave at 8:50 p.m. A record that we have never seen before in the history of gastronomy. Unless you are 80 years old, avoid it.

Delicious, typical local food. Smooth, amber-colored beer. Service was snappy, until after the main course. Ambience rustic and friendly. All in all, recommended and worth a visit!

After a day of shopping with our teens in Ulm, we were really hungry. Everyone found something to their liking and it was consistently delicious 😋 and the portions were huge. The rest was well packaged for us to take with us. The staff was very friendly. Good address.

Ordered 2x knuckle pan and 2x liver spaetzle soup. The soup (€6.80!) was a flop. It was oversalted and dismal. No parsley or any herbs included. The knuckle pan was served lukewarm, almost cold. When we told the waitress, the pan was taken into the kitchen without any problem and heated up again. But unfortunately the fried potatoes and the knuckle meat were very oily. It's a shame, because no matter which city you go to, the brewery is actually a guarantee of good food and excellent beers.

Fynn served us perfectly, he was very friendly and quick and paid good attention to our needs. The food was also very tasty.

Rump steak cold, returned once, cold again. Jägermeister ordered. What's really strange is that everything but no Jägermeister gets anything. Spaetzle from my colleague also cold. What's that supposed to mean ?! Juice shop.

I waited a long time for my food, the food didn't taste particularly good but I could eat it. There was a hair on my food. Service was very nice and it looks nice inside. One of my group was forgotten

I recently visited this brewery and unfortunately my experience was less than satisfactory. The food left a lot to be desired. I felt that the dishes were not freshly prepared. My roast pork was tough and the side dishes were lukewarm and tasteless. The pork knuckle pan didn't impress us in terms of taste either. The atmosphere was rustic and inviting, but the noise level was so high that you could hardly hear your own words. Overall, I was very disappointed with my visit and unfortunately I cannot recommend this brewery. I hope they work on their service and food quality in the future.

The food was really bad! Both the appearance and the quality were not good. The roast pork, the knuckle pan and also the onion roast were very bad. We're definitely not coming back!

I was no longer able to eat the great food from the last few years there on Friday. We were there with around 60 people and had the entire upper floor and a limited menu of just 2 main courses. With a few exceptions, the food was completely cold and the meat was so grilled that it was difficult to cut the turkey steak. Only the people who had schnitzel could eat it. I hope that this kitchen derailment was only due to the overcrowded restaurant. The waiters tried to remedy this situation by warming up the plates and offering extra dessert I'll be testing the 3Kannen again soon as a small group...

Yesterday there were six of us eating in the 3 Kannes. 4 meals were bad, 2 were good. The meat (pork fillet and turkey schnitzel) was so bone dry and hard fried, and also of poor quality with parts that were unchewable...I have never been exposed to such bad meat. There was also Kässpätzle, which was just a soggy mass with semi-transparent "fried onions" smeared on it... The very dark sauce was OK, but nothing more. Luckily the size of the "schnitzel" was very small (you could bury it under half a beer mat), so my chewing muscles weren't totally over-strained. And that without a single lettuce leaf for 25 euros. Shameless..... It's a shame that a formerly good restaurant with very good food is falling below snack bar level. Never again.

I was here 2 weeks ago, I ate very well, the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately, on the day I went, none of the waiters knew English, so it was a little more difficult to understand each other and to receive what we ordered. Finally, it was resolved. We often have dinner at Drei Kannen. The simple atmosphere, the service and, above all, the food is always simply great. This restaurant is absolutely number 1 in Ulm when it comes to good beer and traditional cuisine!!!

Went here for dinner last night. Table was reserved, waitress A was pretty listless… the table at the back by the window is hers. You could also have made the effort to accompany us to the table. Well, waitress B was very friendly when ordering drinks and food. There were five of us here, but none of us would come back again. No matter the dish, every meat was tough and dry. The “salad plate” is also more of a large side salad. Nothing special or a variation on the side salad, and the salad is literally swimming in the dressing. It's just a shame, you really don't need to go out to eat for this!

Had a delicious meal there on Sunday lunchtime. We had booked a table and could decide whether we wanted to eat in the restaurant or in the garden. When ordering, the wrong dish was included, which was exchanged for the correct one within a very short time. The waitress quickly apologized for her mistake.

I ordered a dish with chanterelles. I got something with mushrooms. When I asked, I was referred to the boss - I would have liked to speak to him too, but he probably didn't dare... I just mean that if I order something with chanterelles for €26, then I can expect that there will be some in it - I only found champions... Poor performance ✌🏻😞

We were in a larger group (7 people). The food was relatively good so far, not the cheapest option but there were large portions. Unfortunately, the service was rather negative. At the beginning of the visit, a time was set at which the table had to be handed over. So far okay. However, half an hour before the time was up, a condition came to us, and quote: "whether we could end the whole thing here slowly" because the next group was already there... and we should clear the table now so that the guests can have some came too early to have space. An impudence that I have never experienced before. It's a shame... but that was the last time.

We were really shocked and something like this had never happened to us before. After the SSV Ulm football game we went to the 3 Kannen. The greeting was: We don't have anything free anymore. No hello, nothing. She looked stupid when we said we had reserved. Asking first would probably have been the right option. When we took our seats at 4:15 p.m. we were immediately told that our table would be ready for us until 6:30 p.m. At 6 p.m. a new service person came and said we should please leave because the next group that had reserved for 6:30 p.m. was already there. This was done with shocking rudeness. We would have liked to all have ordered something to drink since we still had 30 minutes to spare. We lost interest and after discussions we left the restaurant at 6:20 p.m. None of us gave a tip. We were 7 people. We happily give Trinkled for service and friendliness. We should have been given a discount for this behavior. Absolute impudence. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant because of the service staff.

Delicious food, first class service, attentive staff.

I've been to this brewery several times. The brewery is not far from Ulm Minster. The brewery is nice inside and out to sit and enjoy the food and beer. The pictures show the Swabian pan for 2 people. The pan has snuff pasta with cabbage, Maultaschen, bratwurst, fried meat, cheese spaetzle. You have to be very hungry for the pan. The other dishes were always very tasty too. I always stop by here when I visit Ulm. Only recommended. Thumbs up.

Food was good, service not optimal. The planning of the tables was disorganized. We had a table until 6:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m. we were rudely asked to leave the restaurant because a group had arrived earlier. We stated that this wasn't our problem, but it was rudely pointed out to us several times. Never again!

Unfortunately the food was very bad, we had knuckle with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were old and warmed up, the knuckle meat was dry, tough and lukewarm. Almost everything was returned. Unfortunately, not even a small compensation came from the kitchen. We will definitely never go there again.

If you want to try good Swabian and Bavarian cuisine, this is the place for you. Food super tasty. Price/performance ratio is absolutely right here.

You probably benefit from the tradition here as a former brewery. I've eaten much better in some sports field restaurants, carelessly prepared, no longer hot and not very tasty. Potato salad cut too coarsely and potatoes not fully cooked. Not recommended.

Wir waren am 18.8 nach längerer Zeit wieder in den 3 Kannen und waren mehr als enttäuscht! Alle 4 Gerichte waren qualitativ und von der Zubereitung unzureichend: Zwiebelrostbraten: statt medium wie bestellt komplett durch, trocken und hart, serviert auf zu viel Sauerkraut und geschmacksneutralem Zwiebelkompott; Zander mit Pfifferlingen: Fisch zerkocht und 3-5 zerkochte Pfifferlinge in einer sämigen geschmacksneutralen Mehlschwitze; Schweinelende: trocken und hart; Linsen mit Speck: Der Speck war wahrscheinlich mehrmals aufgewärmt und ebenfalls trocken, hart und nicht zum Verzehr geeignet. Abschließend sei erwähnt, dass kein Gericht mit Salat serviert wurde und der Preis jeweils knapp unter 30 Euro lag und damit in keiner akzeptablen Relation zur Qualität.

This is exactly how you imagine Swabian cuisine to be! The beer selection is excellent and the menu offers a wonderful selection of Swabian dishes that are reminiscent of grandma's cooking. That's how it has to be! Keep it up, just great!

Drei Kannen is only good for drinks. It has a big inner yard with many tables. Drinks are fresh and tasty. Food is pre-cooked and very average. If you value good food, it is better to find another place.

We ordered via Lieferando, but (for whatever reason) no review was possible! It's more important here! Our expectations were exceeded! We didn’t expect “that”! Selection: 5+ stars Taste: 5+ stars Servings: 5+ stars Delivery (time): 5+ stars Price performance: 5+ stars I don't know what else I can write!? Simply brilliant!! At some point we will also eat in the restaurant! Absolutely recommended, again at any time! All thumbs up!!

Unfortunately the food was quite a disaster and left us very disappointed. We ordered a knuckle pan and 3x cheese spaetzle. There were hardly any pieces of meat in the knuckle pan and almost only potatoes. The cheese spaetzle were cold, drowned in cheese and once the onions were missing. All dishes were unseasoned and therefore tasteless. The only positive thing that should be highlighted is the rustic ambience of the restaurant and the beer garden in the inner courtyard. The service staff were friendly and helpful, but a bit overwhelmed even though there weren't that many guests in the restaurant. It's a shame, you could expect better quality for the money. We certainly won't be coming back again!!!

We had the great pleasure of visiting the “Drei Kannen” restaurant on one of our business trips and all we can say is that it is a true gem. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The brewery is very tasteful and creates a cozy environment that is perfect for a relaxed meal. We would particularly like to highlight our waitress Fynn. Fynn was not only extremely attentive and professional, but also incredibly friendly and charming. Fynn made us feel truly welcome and ensured we didn't lack for anything. His recommendations were excellent and you could immediately tell that he put his heart and soul into it. The food was an absolute highlight. Every dish was prepared with great attention to detail and was simply really good. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion that goes into the kitchen. Particularly noteworthy are the homemade specialties (roast pork!) which were simply delicious. I recommend the bread dumpling. In summary, we can only warmly recommend the “Drei Kannen” restaurant. A big thank you to the entire team for this wonderful experience, and a special thanks to Fynn for making our visit unforgettable. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Great beer garden. Tasty dishes. Own beer. There is also sour kidney 2023: Oh! Dogs are no longer allowed in the restaurant.

Unfortunately, it has fallen off dramatically in recent years. Food is only frozen food and convenience, a disaster in terms of taste and craftsmanship. Went there with a larger group for a family birthday and the food wasn't at the same level as it was two years ago. Whatever changed in the staff killed the tavern. Service was nice and attentive, ambience as usual. But in terms of food (it wasn't food), unfortunately it was a disgrace, even for the price. It's a real shame, another Ulm inn that was destroyed.

What was good? The beautiful courtyard with umbrellas invites you to sit comfortably (summer). Service was very friendly. What could be improved? Cordon Bleu with fries tasted okay, but that was it. The portion of fries was very small. If you want something vegetarian, you should definitely keep looking. It's not suitable for that here.

We are from Ulm and have been going to the restaurant and beer garden for years because of the local atmosphere. The food gets worse and worse every year, and when we visited yesterday it was clear that we definitely wouldn't be coming back. I had a turkey schnitzel which was definitely frozen, my spaetzle was completely dried out and the sauce was a lumpy, inedible convenience paste. Had to be returned and an espresso on the house was offered as an apology. My husband had a bad cordon bleu including 2 hairs on the plate. As we were leaving we were called out asking if we had already paid. The staff was generally rather unfriendly, you had the feeling that there were some complaints due to the absolutely poor performance of the kitchen - and at exorbitant prices!

Unfortunately, the food was very mediocre. Unfortunately, homemade spaetzle tends to come from the frozen section and the sauces and soups all come straight out of the bag. Onion roast had a very strong taste and was sometimes past the desired cooking point. Beer, however, is highly recommended. The toilet is really very unclean and privacy is rather poor because the doors are always open. Overall, unfortunately not a good overall package.

There were 9 people there, a table was reserved in advance, everyone liked it, the various dishes were all very tasty. Nobody had anything to complain about.

We really liked it! The food was delicious, the service was great and sitting in the beautiful beer garden was very pleasant!

I ate here 2 years ago and the food was great and the price was very reasonable. This time around I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and lots of gravy to wash it down (as well as a wheat beer) because all the oh dishes were very expensive and there was no well priced daily specials. The food was picture perfect (as you can see). Unfortunately the taste of the meat loaf did not match the optics. The mashed potatoes were great ( just wish more were on my plate). The gravy worked its magic (as well as the beer). They have an English menu which is helpful and one the waitresses was very friendly and accommodating. I was there at about 13:30 on a Friday and there weren’t many customers. (Not like the last time I was there).

After we had our first beer experiences here yesterday and were thrilled with it, we opened here again today. We like the light beer and cellar beer served here better than the beers from Berg, Barfüßler and Gold Ochsen. Good service and delicious food round things off. A little hint. Order the cheese spaetzle with double cheese. Was better for me.

Total failure! Price-performance doesn't match at the front or back. Never had such a bad schnitzel (frozen product) before... fried potatoes in a separate bowl were half swimming in oil... Worst restaurant experience in Ulm so far and we've tried a lot. The only good thing was their own beer. The service was at least attentive and friendly.

That was a total failure... TK Schnitzel Viennese style and the Maultaschen with egg... Maultaschen search game.. The waitress tried her best to admit it... With free coffee... such a beautiful beer garden and such terrible food, if the kitchen can't do anything after 8 p.m., you should admit that too!!! And then the schnitzel almost 20 €!!!!! Outrageous

The best suckling pig I have ever eaten. A nice beer garden, nice and shady and friendly, attentive and competent staff. Plus an acceptable price/performance ratio. The recommendation is now ready. Keep it up.

The food was okay, the portion was generous Roast pork a bit dry, the taste could be improved Beer sauce tasted more like a finished product. Maybe I was a little spoiled by the gastronomy/food days before Ambience/beer garden was great though
