It's simply cute and charmingly laid out, the selection is good, and when you order, it arrives quickly. It's not too expensive, and the portions are just right, so you'll definitely leave satisfied.

It was a very lovely and cozy evening. The food was excellent. The portions were very generous; you really have to be hungry to finish it. The atmosphere was wonderful, perfect for those who like a cozy and intimate setting. We love that kind of place. We always enjoy going there, and even in warmer weather, the terrace is a great spot for a relaxing evening or just a coffee.

This year, we held our Christmas party at "Doro's Kotten" for the first time. The charming atmosphere of the old half-timbered house and the beautifully set table set a wonderful mood. The food was excellent, with something for everyone – from fish and pasta to pizza. We'd love to come back again!

I've been a regular customer at Doro's for over 10 years and go there very often with friends and family. No one has ever said anything bad about the food. And we've tried everything on the menu multiple times. So I always look forward to cozy evenings there.

I ate here for the first time yesterday with my wife and two old friends. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very old, a lovely old half-timbered house. My wife had the Pizza Calabria. As a starter, she had the prawns (gambas) in garlic sauce. I had the bruschetta twice. The bruschetta was well made and very tasty. My wife's prawns were OK but overcooked, which was still acceptable, let's put it that way. I had the pork medallions in Gorgonzola sauce as a side dish. The waiter said fried potatoes would have been okay, but they aren't on the menu. The Gorgonzola sauce could have been a bit stronger, but they were okay. The fried potatoes were a complete disaster; they weren't fried potatoes, they were jacket potatoes, cut into wedges and left in the pan for maybe a minute, if that. Our friends had the same thing - they were all jacket potatoes. If they promise us fried potatoes, then I want fried potatoes on our plate, nice and crispy with bacon and onions. It should be stated clearly that, unfortunately, we don't have any fried potatoes, and we shouldn't serve them to the customer. This was far from that. The Calabria pizza was pitch black around the edges and quite dark underneath. I told my wife to return the pizza, but she didn't, for whatever reason, and cut off everything else. The black part, so there wasn't much left of the pizza. The service was very friendly and quick. I wouldn't go here again.

This time, we were at Doro's Kotten with five people. The service was attentive, the food delicious, and the portions generous. The ambiance is still inviting. We had a lovely and enjoyable evening.

We love Doro's Kotten! It's very cozy and soooo delicious there. We've tried many different dishes and are delighted every time. They also regularly change daily and weekly menus with new, delicious dishes. Above all, the very friendly service is worth mentioning. They are always friendly, attentive, and willing to listen to our every need. And don't forget that our dog is always welcome. 😊🌸

Absolutely. We celebrated our son's communion there. Two days before, it came to light that our booking was for a week later... I could already see the drama! But the team did a great job of improvising, setting the alternative high tables very stylishly and festively, the food was excellent, and we'd love to come back again! Best, Nadiné

We were there at the end of July to celebrate a double birthday. The table wasn't set and as my granddaughter didn't finish her meal and wanted to take it with her, the restaurant charged her €2.00 for the takeaway box ?????!!!!!

Very nice atmosphere! The food wasn't quite to my taste; my fillet (three small pieces) was drowning in sauce and covered in a mountain of Parmesan. The dumplings were also rather meager. My companion's ravioli had pieces of aluminum in it. For the price, you'd expect more.

Pleasantly surprised. Everything was just right here, too. A special menu with seasonal dishes. Currently serving asparagus, generous portions, everyone was satisfied. Herford beer on tap, a rare find. We'd love to come back.

Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, aber leider ist der Service mega schlecht. Viele Dinge wurden vergessen und man kann lange auf die Bedienung warten. Also nichts wenn man wirklich Durst hat.

We reserved a table for 6 people at 6:30 p.m. Although we had communicated our orders very promptly, we had to announce at 8:20 p.m. that we were now considering leaving the restaurant (after only one drink since further orders were not possible due to invisible service staff). We were then told that our orders were “already” being processed and would be served in 2 minutes. This actually happened like that, with the meat and fish dishes being served first, with the information that the only pizza would take about 10 minutes... The dishes were then ok. The pork fillet was a bit too “done”/dry for some tastes. Fish, schnitzel and Mediterranean vegetables were ok and quite tasty. Unfortunately, for every additional drink we had to get up to look for the waitress, as they were probably hopelessly overloaded. So it was a pretty “dry” evening. Since the decorations were cleared from the table at 9:50 p.m. and the bill was served, the evening was also inexpensive. We would have liked to have had more drinks and desserts, especially since the wines were very good, but we simply didn't need to beg for attention and service! Conclusion: someone missed out on a great sale! Unfortunately, the cozy, rustic atmosphere doesn't outweigh the poor organization!!!

An old, dilapidated cottage was lovingly restored and converted into a restaurant. The result: a great restaurant in the style of an old former farmhouse. Fits the village center of Eppendorf 1000 times better than the new gray residential blocks made of gray concrete. The food tastes excellent and the operators are super nice. Service 1a. The salads, pasta and meat dishes are really tasty, but stay away from the pizzas. The dough is dry and hard, so any oven pizza from a discount store is better!

We ate there with 6 people. In terms of style, the building couldn't have been used better than for a restaurant. It is lovingly furnished, very clean and the service is absolutely top notch. The food was extremely delicious! I had a large portion of bruschetta as a starter and a roast beef from the daily menu, which was fried to perfection. Now I'm going to fall into a comfortable eating coma 😀

There were four of us eating. The atmosphere is very appealing, a beautiful old half-timbered house. The service is quick and attentive. However, if you are not good on foot, you should specify when making your reservation that you would like a table on the lower floor. We had bruschetta as a starter and schnitzel. The portion is very large and very, very tasty. We'll be back.

A nice restaurant in the middle of Bochum-Eppendorf in an old cottage. Large selection of delicious food and drinks at fair prices. Attentive and friendly service. When the weather is nice you can sit outside in the beer garden. In the Kotten itself you can sit in a very cozy atmosphere.

Es war sehr enttäuschend - der Tisch war schmutzig und wurde nur auf unsere Bitte geputzt. Das Besteck kam einige Minuten nach den Gerichten. Eine Pizza war verbrannt und wurde neu geliefert, soweit in Ordnung. Aber ein anderer Gast hatte fast rohe Fleischstücke bei seinem Essen, hat das reklamiert und wurde gefragt, ob er etwas anderes möchte. Am Ende waren beide Gerichte auf DDR Rechnung und mussten auch gezahlt werden. Es würde ein Ramazotgi aufs Haus als Wiedergutmachung angeboten...lächerlich und unverschämt. Für uns heisst es: nie wieder!

Wir waren mit Freunden zum ersten Mal in Doros Kotten. Das Ambiente hat uns angesprochen und das Essen war ebenfalls gut. Das Team war flott und hatte auch immer einen netten Spruch auf der Lippe, zusammengefasst, es hat uns gefallen.

Unfortunately, the reservation I made and registered in person 5 days before could no longer be found last night. Luckily a table became available and we were able to place our order and the drinks arrived quickly. While handing out the main courses at the table, the overwhelmed waitress noticed that she had forgotten the starters. I'm still waiting today for my second drink that I ordered. The calamari with fries and the pasta dish with chanterelles were good, the Napoli pizza was very good. The schnitzel gratinated with mozzarella, on the other hand, consisted of a bland piece of molded meat that could not increase its cooling temperature even after being gratinated in the oven. Unfortunately, handing out napkins with meals also seems to have gone out of fashion and the cutlery had to be specifically ordered again. You can make tiramisu with cream, but I prefer good old mascarpone. Even when it came to coffee with dessert, unfortunately only 3 of the 4 ordered were delivered right away. To be fair, the waitress did her best to limit the damage and the meat dish was taken off the bill. However, we waited in vain for an apology, at least a small "sorry" from the owner present, just as we had before for appetizers, drinks and coffee. Running a gastronomic business does not consist of feeding the guests, but rather of providing a comfortable, carefree and pleasant time in the restaurant, in short, in service. Due to its location and partly its cuisine, the Kotten has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it is not being exploited. Often less is more! Too bad, opportunity wasted

We ate there yesterday with 10 people and were extremely disappointed: the table was only worn after we specifically requested it, even though there were a lot of leaves and dirt on it. Food arrived, cutlery only 5 minutes later...a guest was brought a completely inedible pizza that was burnt on the edge and asked: Do you accept it like that? Then it was redone, so far okay. Another guest received three pork medallions wrapped in bacon, the first was burnt and edible, the second was half raw when cut, the third was also inedible. The waiter was informed and asked: Do you want to fry this again or would you like something else? The guest then wanted a schnitzel, of course as a replacement for the half-raw and inedible dish. The full price of both dishes was on the bill, the complaint was rejected without any comprehensible reason, "almost eaten" was supposedly, only one spritzer was "waived off". So we admitted the mistake, but still insisted on full payment. The store was done for us, which is a shame.

Wir hatten eine Reklamation zu einem Gericht, das Schweinfmedaillon war halb roh, Gerichr eure zurückgenommen, Ersatzgerichg gebracht. Auf der Rechnung standen dann beide Gerichte mit dem vollen Preis.. Keine vernünftige Diskussion möglich. Für uns hat sich der Laden disqualifiziert. Schlechter Service, dreckige Tische, Besteck kym erst mfhf als 5 Minuten nach den Essenstellern, geht gar nicht.

A great atmosphere. The schnitzels were of better chip shop quality. The pasta was way too oily, nothing special if you like cooking. The salad dressing is a classic Kühne ready-made product. The good reviews here are incomprehensible.

War mit meiner Frau dort Abendessen! Das Hähnchen mit Curry und Gemüse sowie das Schweinefilet waren super und auch nicht zu teuer. Das Lokal befindet sich in einem alten Bauernkotten und ist sehr urig und gemütlich .

Rustikales Ambiente in einem 400 Jahre altem Fachwerkhaus. Eigener Parkplatz und ebenerdigen Eingang, im Haus selbst gibt es eine Treppe und so verteilt sich die Gesellschaft auf zwei Ebenen.

Selten so freundliches Personal erlebt; Essen war sehr sehr gut, wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Folgende Erfahrungen mit diesem Lokal gemacht. Für Silvester reserviert ca. 5 Wochen vorher, wir kommen dorthin, Lokal zu ohne Absage!! Nächster Versuch am 21.02.23 für den 26.08.23 bei der Chefin!!! für einen runden Geburtstag reserviert, Aussahe war von ihr, das klappt diesmal 1000 prozentig. Einladungen wurden soweit verschickt. Jetzt am 28.03.23 kam ein Anruf von der Chefin abermals, dass ihre Mädels wohl eine Reservierung am gleichen Tag übersehen hätten und nun mein Termin abgesagt werden muss. Sie selbst hatte mir die Zusage gegeben!!! Ich war dort langjährig Stammgast und das ist doch wohl die absolute Frechheit!! Dieser Laden ist aufgrund dieses Verhaltens absolut nicht mehr zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten anlässlich unserer Hochzeit ein Brunchbuffet mit 40 Personen. Es stimmte einfach alles !!! Super leckeres Essen, tolles Ambiente, sehr aufmerksames Personal. Sogar auf die Extrawünsche der Kinder wurde eingegangen. Jeder unserer Gäste war begeistert. Wir kommen wieder...sehr gerne auch wenn es wärmer wird und man draußen sitzen kann. Wir vergeben 1000 Sterne.

Waren heute mit unserem Stammtisch da(22 Personen). Das Essen hat jedem geschmeckt. Der Service war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und wir haben nicht lange auf unser Essen warten müssen. Obwohl wir nicht die einzigen Gäste waren. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Danke für den schönen Abend
