The staff is incredibly friendly, and not only is the atmosphere fantastic, but the food is amazing. A huge selection of wonderful traditional and regional dishes. The prices are unbeatable for this superb service. Keep up the great work!

Everything here is just perfect, and that's an understatement. My highlight, my favorite. It was our first time here. Just walking in felt like a welcome invitation, the atmosphere was simply cozy. The waiter was incredibly friendly, as was the entire team, and above all, genuinely so! Yes, you wait an hour for the food, and why? Because everything is fresh and incredibly delicious! The chef conjures up wonderfully tasty dishes, and you can not only taste the amazing work involved, but the presentation is just as stunning. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back! Many thanks to the whole team!

We arrived as a couple without a reservation, but were still warmly welcomed. Although everything was reserved, we were given a table "for an hour." That was enough for us; the service and food were great!

The food and everything else is normally good but I would like to talk about the service. The manager is a very nice and dedicated gentleman in contrast to some lady who was on the phone today, who when asked if she can speak English says yes and then doesn't know a word and when we have a problem communicating she just says it. This unreal behavior deserves a whole star, otherwise I would give 4.

Unfortunately, you can't get into the restaurant without a reservation. However, the host was very friendly and politely addressed the reservation issue.

Dear restaurant owners, customers want authentic food, not industrial products! The 4.7 stars are incomprehensible. Nice ambiance, but unfortunately, this isn't reflected in the quality of the food. The food (filled bread) arrived nicely decorated. The filling was noticeably made with industrial ingredients, which dominated the flavor. The bread didn't feel fresh either, even though it was advertised as a bakery product. Overall, everything was very salty, and after the meal, the dry mouth suggested a lot of flavor enhancers. The lemonade tasted like just syrup with tap water. Upon request, the Quarkkeulchen (curd dumplings) are also not freshly made. If you look closely at the customer photos, you can see the industrial ingredients in some places. Potatoes, dumplings, etc. A real shame...

A great pub with very friendly staff in a cozy, historic setting. Due to the limited availability of similar establishments in Zittau, it's very busy and almost always requires advance reservations, as the city is practically home to only kebab shops (more kebab shops than in Berlin). The cuisine is regional, highly recommended, and lovingly prepared. The desserts reflect the desire to highlight the region's uniqueness: Silesian poppy seed dumplings with eggnog are a dream dessert recommendation, as are the plum-filled dumplings—what were they called again...?

Going out to eat spontaneously in Zittau's old town seems a bit of a challenge. We found a table here and were pleasantly surprised. The service was very pleasant, friendly, and extremely helpful. We had a wonderful evening with delicious food and would gladly return.

We were strolling through Zittau when, by chance, a delicious aroma caught our noses. We spontaneously decided to have lunch there. We highly recommend this historic inn; it was the first time we've eaten such a delicious meal on our vacation, it was indescribably good! It's rare to find a good restaurant; we'll definitely be back next time. Kudos to the food and service.

The place is located near the market square in Zittau. The courtyard is beautiful, making it a pleasure to sit outside. The interior is also very nice. The staff is friendly and smiling. The Zittau beer is good, but nothing special. The food is similar. But the atmosphere of the place has been doing its job for many years.

We went to this restaurant for dinner on Saturday, August 30, 2025. I ate pierogi with minced meat filling and yogurt. I gave some to my son as well. Unfortunately, I've had severe stomach, gallbladder, and intestinal problems ever since. It's very sad. The staff were very polite, but the hygiene in the kitchen seems to be lacking. Perhaps others had better luck eating.

We enjoyed a very pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, and very friendly and attentive staff! It was a "chance find" for us and highly recommended!!! If we're in the area again, we'll definitely go back.

The food was very good; we were there during asparagus season. The waiter assigned us a table and then forgot about us. Upon asking, a colleague gave us the menu and, after 20 minutes, we were allowed to order our drinks, followed by another 10 minutes for our food. The fellow waiter was very child-friendly and brought toys and art supplies for our toddler. Otherwise, the service was poor, but the food was very good.

If you have one meal in Zittau, go here. The setting is beautiful with a quiet and green inner courtyard and the menu has traditional dishes from Lusatia, Silesia and Bohemia - all the regions that Zittau borders. The Lendenbraten was fantastic (especially the dumplings) and the Mohnpiele with custard was one of the best desserts I've ever had. 10/10 in every way.

Honestly, the food was terrible. If I wanted to eat frozen and canned mushrooms, I'd heat them up at home. The vegetarian dishes, in particular, were carelessly reheated frozen goods. The croquettes and cheese came out of the packaging. The onions on the hash browns were raw. The quark dumplings also seemed like they came straight from frozen. Unfortunately, the schnitzel and fried potatoes weren't crispy at all. For the price, I'm not recommending them. The ambiance and service, however, were very, very good. Perhaps a better deal for a drink alone.

A beautiful place full of magic.

So, we planned to have dinner on June 14, 2025. Unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked both inside and out, which actually indicates that it must be quite good. What's not good, however, is that as a guest, you stand and stand and stand in the doorway without even a moment's attention from the waitress. This person immediately looked away when she saw us. A friendly word from her along the lines of "Unfortunately, we don't have any free seats at the moment" probably wouldn't have been too much to ask. One got the impression that the motto in this restaurant is "As long as all our tables are full, we don't need new guests." Typical German mentality, but we experienced that things can be done differently and that not everywhere is run like this, so it didn't dampen our holiday spirit.

Beautiful inn with very friendly service. The food was truly delicious. The outdoor area is a beautiful courtyard that can even be used on cooler days thanks to patio heaters. I can well imagine that you'll need to make reservations here on weekends. So, a definite recommendation.

A beautiful historic inn with super friendly service and excellent food. You should definitely reserve a table in advance, as it's a very popular restaurant. The outdoor seating in the beautifully landscaped courtyard in front of the restaurant is heated (per table) during the cooler months, which we think is a really great idea. The overall ambiance is very harmonious, and you immediately feel comfortable and welcome.

Incredibly beautiful restaurant, great ambience, nice attentive team and the food is all homemade using high-class cuisine and seasoned to perfection. A visit that makes you forget everyday life. Very nice inn. We were there at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and there was only room for four outside. So to be on the safe side, you should make a reservation! The food was very good. The goulash in particular was interestingly seasoned. Various dishes from the area (Czech Republic and Poland) were offered. The house has an interesting history. There was Zittau beer, which was also very tasty. Recommended!! Prices are quite good for such a quaint inn. And there is a season ticket. In one photo you can see the asparagus scrambled eggs! There are two vegetarian dishes and one or two extra on the seasonal menu. :)

Ich kann das Dornsprachhaus ohne Abzüge absolut empfehlen. Normal bin ich zu faul Bewertungen zu schreiben ;-) aber hier mache ich das. Super Preis-Leistung und eine sehr schneller und netter Service auch ohne Tischbestellung. Wir haben im herrlich, urigen Innenhof gemütlich unterm Heizpilz gesessen. Ich hatte das gefüllte Bauernbrot und würde das allen empfehlen, die gern deftig essen und einen guten Hunger mitbringen. Schon lang nicht mehr in einem so guten Restaurant gewesen. Hier hat alles gepasst.

Went there last night with our dog and received a very friendly welcome. Very quaint, great restaurant, the food was super tasty at an unbeatable price. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back.

The service was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was excellent, you immediately felt at home. The selection of dishes on offer was great. There is really a coherent concept here. The food itself was very good, no finished products. The only criticism is the long waiting time. However, I was only there once and you don't know what was going on that day. In short: thank you very much and we will be back.

Very good and inexpensive guesthouse in the center of Zittau. Through the small tunnel you come directly into the cozy inner courtyard, where you look forward to the warm days. The rustic ambience with vaulted character fits perfectly. Courteous, polite service staff and great regional and Bohemian cuisine make you want to visit again. Unfortunately, there are only a few restaurants left with such a good overall package.

Winteröffnungszeiten von 11:00 bis 14:00 ! Wir waren um 13:25 vor Ort und wurden harsch abgewiesen -- " wir sind zu spät, um zu essen " . Wir sind zurück in unsere Ferienwohnung und ich habe was leckers gekocht . Die Gastronomie soll pleite gehen, wenn sie zu faul ist .Ich habe kein Mitleid. Ich brauche nun keine Gastronomie mehr . Bei Corona haben wir auch " überlebt " ohne Kneipen.

A real insider tip, we have been coming to Zittau for years, but we have never visited this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, nice service and really very good Bohemian & regional cuisine.. I had really freshly cooked potatoes in the restaurant for a long time.. the food was very tasty. Prices are rather higher, but for the quality it's totally fine. Definitely worth a visit...

A stop that left nothing to be desired. A very tasty meal from a diverse menu. Extra requests were in no way a problem. The extremely friendly service rounded off the evening. The cozy atmosphere made you feel good. We have fond memories of the stop, thanks to the culinary calendar. Reservations are strongly recommended.
