Sehr lange Wartezeiten beim Bestellen und bis das Essen kommt, wenn der Biergarten offen ist. Essen sehr lecker.

Positiv hervorzuheben sind die tolle Atmosphäre, die umfangreiche Speisekarte, die exzellente Einrichtung und das polnischsprachige Personal. Negativ ist die lange Wartezeit (für unsere Gruppe von sieben Personen 45 Minuten). Ich hatte Spargel mit Sauce Hollandaise und Kartoffeln bestellt – der Spargel war verkocht, die Sauce wässrig und die Kartoffeln nicht gar. Ein anderes Gericht wäre vielleicht besser gewesen. Es empfiehlt sich, mittags im Voraus einen Platz auf der Terrasse zu reservieren.

Trotz voller Hütte Bedingungen sehr fix und höflich. Essen war sehr gut und die Preise sind vollkommen in Ordnung

Ein sehr schönes Wirtshaus, mit heimatlich-gemütlichem Ambiente, sehr freundlicher Bedienung und hervorangendem Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Dornspachhaus ist wirklich ein schönes altes Wirtshaus. Die Atmosphäre ist urig und richtig historisch. Auf jeden Fall vorher reservieren, damit ihr drinnen einen Platz bekommt, das lohnt sich. Die Kellner sind passend historisch gekleidet, das passt super zum Haus. Das Essen kam schnell auf den Tisch, das Fleisch war sehr zart, die Soße richtig lecker und die Bratkartoffeln waren die besten, die ich bisher gegessen habe. Die Preise sind fair und angemessen. Die Bedienung war schnell und unkompliziert, und praktisch ist auch, dass die Speisekarte in mehreren Sprachen verfügbar ist. Alles in allem ein richtig nettes Erlebnis. Wer gutes Essen in schöner historischer deutsches Essen sucht, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Ich würde wiederkommen.

Eine sehr gemütliche Lokalität im Herzen von Zittau mit romantischem Innenhof. Wir waren Ostersonntag im Dornspachhaus und es war erwartungsgemäß sehr voll bei bestem Wetter. Dem fleißigen Bedienpersonal an dieser Stelle ein herzliches Dankeschön. In der heutigen Zeit sind wir über solche motivierten Angestellten äußerst dankbar. Wir hatten uns für Schnitzel und Eibauer Bier aus der Region entschieden und es war alles bestens. Alles in allem würden wir das Dornspachhaus sehr empfehlen. Bestes Restaurant in der Zittau, bester Service und das beste Essen.

Gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Empfehlen würde ich die Dicke Rippe und die Knoblauchsuppe, beim Gulasch muss man Kümmel mögen, dann ist er super :). Reservierung ebenfalls empfohlen.

Sehr schöne Gaststätte im urigen Stil. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Essen und Getränke sehr lecker, große Portionen und auch bei vollem Haus normale Wartezeiten. Sitzplätze im Außenbereich vorhanden. Parkmöglichkeiten im umkreis ausreichend vorhanden.

Wir haben hier nach einer Stadtbesichtigung von Zittau an einem Dienstag zu Abend gegessen. Zittau wirkte dann bereits wie fast ausgestorben, in der Gaststätte war es aber dann erstaunlich voll. Man sitzt dort sehr gut, die alte Gaststätte ist atmosphärisch schön, die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und freundlich Das Essen ist regional geprägt und wirkt und schmeckt frisch zubereitet. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Angenehmes Musikprogramm vom Lautsprecher. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

Wir waren gestern Abend im Dornspachhaus Abendbrot essen. Nachdem wir aus dem ursprünglich geplanten Restaurant vergrault wurden. Wir waren also auf der Suche nach einem Tisch und hatten eigentlich keine großen Hoffnungen noch einen zu dieser Uhrzeit (20:30) zu bekommen. Spontan haben wir gefragt und haben auch ohne Reservierung sofort einen Tisch bekommen. Essen Top, Service sehr gut und auch sehr freundlich. Große Empfehlung unsererseits, hier kommen wir gerne wieder essen. Reservierung vorher ist trotzdem immer besser ;)

Ich war schon oft hier essen und war immer begeistert! Im Sommer ist das Essen im schönen Innenhof besonders schön! Im Winter ist es drin umso gemütlicher. Ich komme natürlich wieder! ☺️

Einfach toll, sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr freundliche Bedienung und sehr leckeres Essen, ordentliche Portionen, super Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis, kommen gerne wieder

Die Speisen waren ein absoluter Traum. Hier wird man sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Das Ambiente in diesem Restaurant ist einfach einmalig. Eine Reservierung ist absolut Pflicht.

Nach kurzer Empfehlung von einheimischer Verwandter sind wir hier kurzerhand zum Abendessen eingekehrt. Trotz vollem Gasthaus waren die Gastgeber so freundlich und haben nachgefragt, ob wir damit einverstanden wären, nachzufragen, sich bei Gästen mit N den Tisch zu setzen. Das war für alle Seiten in Ordnung und so konnten wir das sehr leckere Essen genießen. Insbesondere die Komposition von Grünkohl und Meerrettich, verschmolzen zu einer wärmenden Suppe gepaart mit Apfel-Schinken-Röllchen --- sehr schön abgestimmt. Da steckte Liebe drin. Auch das restliche Essen war alles vorzüglich und sehr empfehlenswert (Knoblauchsuppe, Lendenbraten und die dicke Rippe). Nicht zu vergessen die aufmerksame, sympathisch herzliche Bedienung --- war das alles in allem ein ganz toller Besuch. Vielen Dank und gerne auf ein Wiedersehen!

Einfach hingehen, sehr nett und urig

Als Abschluss wollten wir von unserem verlängerten Wochenende noch einmal schön Essen. Hier stimmt einfach alles, das Essen ist unfassbar lecker, der Preis stimmt, das Restaurant ist urig und gemütlich und das Personal aufmerksam, freundlich aber nicht aufdringlich. Ein Gesamtpaket was man so kaum noch findet.

Selten so eine wunderschöne Umgebung genossen wie hier. Service sehr zuvorkommend und nett, das Essen ein Genuss und super viel auf dem Teller. Wir waren froh hier her gekommen zu sein. Wird unsere neue Nummer 1 in Zittau. Vielen Dank an das Team👍

Sehr zu empfehlen ,einfach lecker

Ich war hier nun zum zweiten Mal zum Abendessen. Ich hatte hier die weltbeste Soljanka. Alles Andere war auch absolut super. Grosse Portionen, alles sehr gut. Lokale Spezialitäten und saisonale Gerichte. Tolles Ambiente. Ich kann dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen.

We were disappointed with the food for the second time, which is a real shame. The red wine sauce was very thick, like pudding, and the meat was very tough. It was a real pity. I'll see what I order next time; I hope I can eat well this time.

Everything here is just perfect, and that's an understatement. My highlight, my favorite. It was our first time here. Just walking in felt like a welcome invitation, the atmosphere was simply cozy. The waiter was incredibly friendly, as was the entire team, and above all, genuinely so! Yes, you wait an hour for the food, and why? Because everything is fresh and incredibly delicious! The chef conjures up wonderfully tasty dishes, and you can not only taste the amazing work involved, but the presentation is just as stunning. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back! Many thanks to the whole team!

We arrived as a couple without a reservation, but were still warmly welcomed. Although everything was reserved, we were given a table "for an hour." That was enough for us; the service and food were great!

The food and everything else is normally good but I would like to talk about the service. The manager is a very nice and dedicated gentleman in contrast to some lady who was on the phone today, who when asked if she can speak English says yes and then doesn't know a word and when we have a problem communicating she just says it. This unreal behavior deserves a whole star, otherwise I would give 4.

Unfortunately, you can't get into the restaurant without a reservation. However, the host was very friendly and politely addressed the reservation issue.

Dear restaurant owners, customers want authentic food, not industrial products! The 4.7 stars are incomprehensible. Nice ambiance, but unfortunately, this isn't reflected in the quality of the food. The food (filled bread) arrived nicely decorated. The filling was noticeably made with industrial ingredients, which dominated the flavor. The bread didn't feel fresh either, even though it was advertised as a bakery product. Overall, everything was very salty, and after the meal, the dry mouth suggested a lot of flavor enhancers. The lemonade tasted like just syrup with tap water. Upon request, the Quarkkeulchen (curd dumplings) are also not freshly made. If you look closely at the customer photos, you can see the industrial ingredients in some places. Potatoes, dumplings, etc. A real shame...

Atmospheric inn, German and Czech cuisine, large portions (I find the cuisine "heavy"), fresh, accepts card payments. Very helpful staff.

A great pub with very friendly staff in a cozy, historic setting. Due to the limited availability of similar establishments in Zittau, it's very busy and almost always requires advance reservations, as the city is practically home to only kebab shops (more kebab shops than in Berlin). The cuisine is regional, highly recommended, and lovingly prepared. The desserts reflect the desire to highlight the region's uniqueness: Silesian poppy seed dumplings with eggnog are a dream dessert recommendation, as are the plum-filled dumplings—what were they called again...?

Going out to eat spontaneously in Zittau's old town seems a bit of a challenge. We found a table here and were pleasantly surprised. The service was very pleasant, friendly, and extremely helpful. We had a wonderful evening with delicious food and would gladly return.

We were strolling through Zittau when, by chance, a delicious aroma caught our noses. We spontaneously decided to have lunch there. We highly recommend this historic inn; it was the first time we've eaten such a delicious meal on our vacation, it was indescribably good! It's rare to find a good restaurant; we'll definitely be back next time. Kudos to the food and service.

This was our first time here and we were thrilled. Friendly service, delicious food, and a great atmosphere. We can 100% recommend this restaurant. 👍👍👍👍👍 You should definitely reserve a table, though, as this restaurant is very popular.

The place is located near the market square in Zittau. The courtyard is beautiful, making it a pleasure to sit outside. The interior is also very nice. The staff is friendly and smiling. The Zittau beer is good, but nothing special. The food is similar. But the atmosphere of the place has been doing its job for many years.

We went to this restaurant for dinner on Saturday, August 30, 2025. I ate pierogi with minced meat filling and yogurt. I gave some to my son as well. Unfortunately, I've had severe stomach, gallbladder, and intestinal problems ever since. It's very sad. The staff were very polite, but the hygiene in the kitchen seems to be lacking. Perhaps others had better luck eating.

We enjoyed a very pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, and very friendly and attentive staff! It was a "chance find" for us and highly recommended!!! If we're in the area again, we'll definitely go back.

The food was very good; we were there during asparagus season. The waiter assigned us a table and then forgot about us. Upon asking, a colleague gave us the menu and, after 20 minutes, we were allowed to order our drinks, followed by another 10 minutes for our food. The fellow waiter was very child-friendly and brought toys and art supplies for our toddler. Otherwise, the service was poor, but the food was very good.

If you have one meal in Zittau, go here. The setting is beautiful with a quiet and green inner courtyard and the menu has traditional dishes from Lusatia, Silesia and Bohemia - all the regions that Zittau borders. The Lendenbraten was fantastic (especially the dumplings) and the Mohnpiele with custard was one of the best desserts I've ever had. 10/10 in every way.

Honestly, the food was terrible. If I wanted to eat frozen and canned mushrooms, I'd heat them up at home. The vegetarian dishes, in particular, were carelessly reheated frozen goods. The croquettes and cheese came out of the packaging. The onions on the hash browns were raw. The quark dumplings also seemed like they came straight from frozen. Unfortunately, the schnitzel and fried potatoes weren't crispy at all. For the price, I'm not recommending them. The ambiance and service, however, were very, very good. Perhaps a better deal for a drink alone.

Beautiful inn with very friendly service. The food was truly delicious. The outdoor area is a beautiful courtyard that can even be used on cooler days thanks to patio heaters. I can well imagine that you'll need to make reservations here on weekends. So, a definite recommendation.
