Dorfschenke in Heubach

It was our 2nd visit: on the 1st visit the four of us ordered à la carte, on the 2nd visit with 8 people we pre-ordered 5 x Peking duck and 3 x à la carte. The food tastes very good, the prices are fair and rice can always be reordered. Very friendly and courteous staff. The restaurant is rather soberly furnished. The often typical but rather kitschy Chinese decoration is missing. A large aquarium divides the two dining rooms.

Today we had dinner at the Deutscher Kaiser in Heubach. It was a really successful meal thanks to the super nice service and the good food. The window seat was lovely. First we received a greeting from the kitchen, various Brits and greaves. Not too much to feel full before eating, just right. The salad that followed was delicious, there was a bit of everything. The main course, the onion roast, was to die for! The meat was tender, medium as ordered, the hand-scraped Spätzla was the highlight. Rarely, actually never, have we had such good spaetzla. The additional vegetables we ordered were also excellent. Cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, carrots, sugar peas, zucchini and kohlrabi, rounded off with roasted almonds, tasted incredibly good. For dessert we ordered Affogato al caffé, espresso with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A successful conclusion. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very, very good, not many tables, no stress from loud conversations, very relaxed and pleasant. We will come more often now! Thank you for this wonderful and tasty lunch.

A feel-good place in Heubach for many, many years.

Tasty, big enough but not huge. Expensive. Quaint.
