We had a wonderful visit to the Dong restaurant in Gelsenkirchen! The ambience is very nicely decorated and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The food was consistently delicious - we particularly loved the summer rolls, the mango curry, the baked bananas and the refreshing Thai lemonade. The Vietnamese coffee is also an absolute highlight! The price-performance ratio is excellent. The prices are completely reasonable for the high quality of the food and service. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, which made the visit a completely successful experience. We will definitely be back and can recommend Restaurant Dong to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a beautiful setting!

From the start we felt welcome and comfortable in this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed as a couple and served with a smile. The food was simply delicious – prepared with a lot of love – and the homemade lemonade was a real highlight. We would particularly like to highlight the exceptionally friendly service, which made our visit very special. We'll definitely be back!

The best sushi I've ever eaten.

I love dong, they have the best sushi from North Rhine-Westphalia!!! Always fresh, always delicious and tops every sushi shop in Düsseldorf. The meat is helal and no pork is sold. The staff is always super friendly and committed. Can really recommend it to everyone!!!

The quality of the fish is exceptional, the rice is perfect and the combinations are creative and simply delicious. Added to this is the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. You feel welcome from the first moment and the service is quick, warm and professional. You can tell that people work here with passion. The ambience is stylish, modern and invites you to linger. We were at Dong yesterday with 4 people and 2 babies. Great food, great ambience, the guys behind the counter and the waitress were very nice, we were left with nothing to be desired. All ingredients were fresh. The sushi and noodles were the best I've eaten to date.

It's really difficult to find good sushi. Luckily, there is a good sushi restaurant in Gelsenkirchen. The tea is fresh and not from a tea bag. The salmon is also fresh, and overall the sushi tastes very good. The service is also excellent.

I made a reservation in advance at this restaurant, which was also confirmed. Full of anticipation, I drove an hour, only to find out there that there was no table available because everything was supposedly full. This is absolutely unprofessional and disappointing! A confirmed reservation should also be honored - especially if guests have to accept a longer journey. Unfortunately no solution was offered and we were simply left without a table. Very disappointing, I definitely won't make a reservation here again!

Absolutely worth it! I had the vegetarian duck with peanut sauce. This came with a good portion of vegetables and the typical sticky rice. My wife had Spicy Mango Vegetable Curry. Visually an eye-catcher, the taste is absolutely first-class. I'm already looking forward to the next visit. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. In my opinion the prices are very reasonable. Perfect! 👍

The Asian restaurant is very nice. It doesn't open until 4 p.m. Mainly Asian guests, young people as waitresses. With the language it usually works!

This unassuming hole in the wall Asian Fusion restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The drinks were quite flavorful and delicious with a nice mango punch and Thai basil flavor respectively. The gyoza were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside while being very cutesy and demure. The fried noodles were so so so flavorful and delicious and the fried chicken was incredibly tender, well seasoned, and crispy outside. The spicy mango curry was very nice and actually light, though it was not very spicy at all. The chicken was the same as the noodle dish so nothing new here, but the portion sizes of the main dishes were very large and the meal was quite filling. For 50 euros i don't feel it was too expensive overall, but the drinks were a bit of a luxury at 7 euro each. Overall we were exceedingly satisfied with the quality, presentation, and taste of this meal. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, it was quite cozy and fun. The music was pretty nice and we could hear people in the back singing which was so cute and heartwarming. If i could give more than 5 stars i would without a doubt. You would be doing yourself a disservice by overlooking this place. Go there now!

Here you can find the best sushi in Gelsenkirchen. The restaurant has a nice and cozy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and will be happy to advise you. It is advisable to reserve in advance. Just Friday or Saturday evening.

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was anything but satisfactory. I ordered a curry and after the first few bites I noticed a hair in my food. When I politely told the waitress this, I was not offered any replacement or apology as a gesture of goodwill - I then left the food. When the bill came, the full price for the curry was still listed. After I explained that I didn't want to pay for an inedible dish, the bill was simply "rounded" from €28 to €20. That means I still had to pay half the price for the curry, which I couldn't even eat. I also noticed the very unkempt toilet, which further reinforced the overall bad impression. All in all, it was a disappointing experience, both in terms of service and hygiene. It's a shame as the food generally looks and tastes appetizing.
