Döner King in Chemnitz

It's a shame that you have to give at least one star here. I would have preferred to give 0 stars. After a funeral, we held the funeral feast in the Froschschänke and also had smaller children with us. It has to be said that we were there on Monday at 4 p.m. and there were no guests present. However, it really bothered the owner (cook) that the smaller children took advantage of the free space in the restaurant and ran around a bit. So he taught us that the restaurant is not a playground. He didn't respond to the suggestion that it was a funeral service and that some piety and tact would be appropriate, unbelievable!! You had more of a feeling that you were being thrown out. An older review responded in the same way to the presence of small children and I can only confirm that children are only welcome in this restaurant if they sit comfortably in place and don't make any noise! And just by the way, the sandwiches that were served were subpar. Cheap sausage from the package and carelessly prepared. I can do something like that better myself and, to be honest, I'm surprised that a chef with honor would let something like that go. Pensioners and lovers of simple GDR cuisine may find what they are looking for here and may also find this food delicious, but we don't. Even if this is "just" a garden pub, there are far better alternatives in Chemnitz that are also child-friendly and offer good quality. I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone and won't answer/justify them. I've never experienced anything like today. You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!

Not a bad meal in itself, but definitely overpriced, even by today's standards. The prices for the fish are definitely too much, especially since there's no side dish included. These cost an extra €5 each, even though they differ in quality. Definitely more expensive than comparable restaurants in big cities like Berlin, Hamburg, or Frankfurt...and we're in Erfenschlag. The atmosphere is OK, but very bright and a bit uncomfortable. Service is inconsistent, sometimes good, sometimes bad. P.S. The price stated in the review is incorrect; I stated €40-50, but the price shown is €10-20.

Food was excellent, good East German cuisine, the way we love it.
