Therasse entzückend, Service freundlich, Essen lecker und gute Auswahl, mal was anderes, WC's im Keller, sauber.

Es ist ein wunderbares Restaurant, welches nah an der Fußgängerzone liegt. Wir haben zu dritt sofort einen Tisch bekommen und der Kellner war super nett und zuvorkommend. Bei Fragen zum essen hat er sofort einmal nachgefragt, um die Antwort zu geben. Auch wenn man ein Gericht modifiziert hat wird einmal nachgefragt ob es eine allergie oder Präferenz ist, um entsprechend andere Zutaten vielleicht anzupassen. Insgesamt war es richtig gemütlich, sehr lecker und super nett, mit um die 20-25€ pro Person (Es geht auch günstiger, z.B. beim Mittagstisch) kann man sich preislich auch gar nicht beschweren.

Wir waren mit sechs Personen bei euch essen und haben unter anderem eine hausgemachte Sauce Hollandaise bestellt, weil wir alle große Fans von guter, selbstgemachter Hollandaise sind. Die erste Sauce war leider bereits optisch nicht gelungen, da sich Butter und Ei getrennt hatten. Das wäre für uns noch kein großes Problem gewesen – entscheidend war jedoch der Geschmack. Die Sauce hatte einen sehr intensiven Alkoholgeschmack, den wir zunächst gar nicht richtig einordnen konnten. Wir waren uns sogar unsicher, ob eventuell etwas nicht mehr gut war. Nachdem wir den Kellner darauf hingewiesen hatten, wurde die Sauce probiert und schließlich bestätigt, dass sie tatsächlich nicht gut schmecke. Daraufhin bekamen wir eine neue Hollandaise. Diese war zwar deutlich besser emulgiert und sehr luftig aufgeschlagen, geschmacklich jedoch noch extremer: Der Alkoholgeschmack war diesmal sogar stärker. Es erinnerte eher an Kirschwasser oder einen anderen hochprozentigen Alkohol als an eine klassische Hollandaise. Alle sechs am Tisch haben probiert und waren sich einig, dass die Sauce so leider nicht genießbar war. Was wir besonders schade fanden, war der Umgang mit der Reklamation. Statt Verständnis oder einer kleinen Entschuldigung bekamen wir mehrfach erklärt, dass die Sauce „sonst allen schmecke“ und „den ganzen Tag gut rausgehe“. Natürlich akzeptieren wir, dass Geschmäcker unterschiedlich sind, aber wenn sechs Gäste unabhängig voneinander denselben Eindruck haben, hätte man zumindest etwas kulanter reagieren können. Eine kleine Geste, eine alternative Sauce oder einfach ein freundliches „Tut uns leid, dass es euch nicht geschmeckt hat“ hätte die Situation völlig entschärft. Am Ende wurde beim Abräumen nochmals betont, dass die Hollandaise „natürlich berechnet werden müsse“, obwohl wir das nie infrage gestellt hatten. Auch das wirkte unnötig konfrontativ. Schade, denn ansonsten war der Abend eigentlich schön. Aber der Umgang mit Kritik gehört für uns genauso zu gutem Service wie das Essen selbst.

Super leckeres Essen nach lokaler Saison und herrlich freundlicher Service! Plätze im Garten durch die Sträucher gut von der Straße abgegrenzt und dadurch sehr gemütlich.

Köstlich die Kürbis Ingwer Suppe, netter Service, schönes Ambiente. Glücklich, Weihnachten erneut dort speisen zu dürfen. Danke.

Volle 5 Sterne Hatte mit meinen Arbeitskollegen einen richtig schönen Abend gehabt und habe sogar vielleicht eine tolle neue Freundschaft gefunden. Das Essen war von Vorspeise über Hauptgang bishin zum Nachtisch absolut lecker. Hatte noch nie ein sooo leckeres Steak gehabt , die Bratkartoffeln auch ein Traum , genau so wie die Pilze mit Zwiebeln. Die Vorpeise eine Kartoffelsuppe mit Mettenden , so eine leckere hatte ich Ewigkeiten nicht. Und der Nachtisch mit Pfannkuchen und Kirschen, absolut lecker. Das Personal welches uns bedient hat war sehr sehr nett. Selten so einen netten Kelner erlebt der sich sogar mit viel Freude in einige unserer Konservationen eingehakt hatte. Einfach nur in jeder Hinsicht 5 Sterne.

Am Samstag 14.3.26 haben wir mit ca 70 Personen in der Domschänke mit Musik und Tanz gefeiert . Nicht nur wir,auch unsere Gäste waren rundum zufrieden bis begeistert. Das Team der Domschänke hatte uns ein vielfältiges und überaus leckeres Bufett angerichtet.Bis weit nach Mitternacht hat das Serviceteam unsere Gäste hervorragend begleitet.Unsere Vorstellung wurden bestens erfüllt. Wir können die Domschänke mit gutem Gewissen für derartige Feiern empfehlen. Ein großes Dankeschön von Christina und Bernd.

Superlecker .... der Ausflug ( 110 km ) dorthin hat sich gelohnt

Essen hervorragend. Karte irritierend. Lammkeule bei Kleinigkeit und Vorspeise. Dachten an ein Versehen bei dem Preis. Senioren und Kinderteller gibt es auch nicht

Tolle Atmosphäre. Das Essen ist gut, aber es eignet sich eher für ein einmaliges Abendessen.

Meistens hatte es mir in der Donschönke gut gefallen und geschmeckt. Leider wurde uns heute am Tisch mitgeteilt, dass mehrere Hauptgerichte nicht mehr vorrätig wären! Sogar die Beilage des gewählten Gerichts wurde nachträglich als nicht mehr verfügbar dargestellt ;( Schade! Das hat uns enttäuscht.

Super Lokation. Bei herrlichem Wetter auf der schattigen Terrasse gesessen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und leckeres Essen. Kommen gern wieder, wenn es mal etwas Besonderes sein soll.

Wir kamen recht spontan. Hatten vorher angerufen, um zu checken, ob die Küche noch geöffnet hat. Hatte sie. Essen, Service und Ambiente waren top! Allerdings finde ich schon, dass Küchenende 20.00 sehr früh ist. Wir fühlten uns bei der Bestellung etwas gehetzt. Zumal bei Google Küche bis 20.30 ausgewiesen war. Wir kommen trotzdem wieder, es war wirklich sehr lecker 😋

Das Team der Domschänke hatte bei uns das Catering im Zelt für 150 Personen über 14 Tage übernommen. Das Essen war immer abwechselungsreich und geschmacklich sehr gut; das Team immer freundlich. Vielen Dank für alles!

Ganz netter Service, ausser einer Dame die sehr unhygienisch während ihrer Schicht am Bier zapfhahn gegessen hat ohne sich danach die Hände zu waschen. Ganz schlechtes und Respektloses Management.

I was there for lunch yesterday. I was immediately greeted by a really friendly waiter. Drinks and food were brought promptly. The portions were plentiful, filling, and of top quality. The atmosphere outside at the table was very pleasant and relaxed thanks to the trees. Even my request for a bandage was immediately granted, and I was able to continue my day with a little rest. Thanks for the delicious lunch 🔆

We discovered it while on vacation in Verden, and we were thrilled. A great menu, the food was really, really good. Our compliments to the kitchen. The service was very friendly and attentive. The beer garden was incredibly cozy, although the interior is also really nice. Everything is 100 percent clean...and the price/performance ratio is good. We'll be back.

A beautiful half-timbered house with a wonderful ambiance. The welcome was warm, and the tiramisu with fresh strawberries was a real highlight! Unfortunately, the soups were only lukewarm, and the coffee came after dessert. The plates were chipped, and the men's restroom was unkempt. Service was friendly, but at times overwhelmed. Lots of charm—but room for improvement.

Actually a nice restaurant with friendly staff. The atmosphere was a bit loud, which was probably due to the interior design (it echoes). Unfortunately, my meal didn't live up to my expectations. I don't eat much green food, but I ordered a Caesar salad. What came out wasn't comparable to Caesar salad for me. Peppers, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes. A little dressing on top, a few strands of cheese or something. The chicken strips were a sliced ​​chicken breast, served with the side (but it wasn't dry). Croutons weren't recognizable. After criticizing the food, the waiter (probably the longest-serving waiter) told me it said so on the menu. I felt ripped off. It was only 17 euros or so. My wife had pasta with salmon. She said it was okay.

Four of us went there, completely unplanned. We were pleasantly surprised by the diverse menu. The food was very good. The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

We stopped in for a drink 45 minutes before the official closing time and were rudely turned away with the statement that everything had already been cleaned. Fortunately, Verden had better alternatives.

We had the pleasure of spending a delightful evening here today to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious, the lamb was perfect and incredibly tender. Everything was beautifully presented, and the cozy atmosphere perfectly rounded it off. The service was also very warm. Thank you for the lovely evening and the small wedding dessert on the house 🥰.

Highly recommended. We happened upon it on a short trip. The food was plentiful and seasonal. It was freshly cooked. The staff was attentive and extremely friendly.

In Verden, the Domschänke is an institution. And rightly so. The food is great, very nice service. The location in the old city center is very nice, but a bit difficult due to the lack of parking spaces. The terrace is very pleasant from spring onwards. There are also enough places. I haven't needed a reservation yet. If you're looking for a nice place with good food, you can safely go here.

We were there in a group, had reserved and were given a table. A friendly young man took our drink order. The drinks, however, were brought to the table by an older man who was of the opinion that I had to justify to him why I didn't drink anything alcoholic if I ordered mineral water. I don't understand how you can be so unprofessional when you work in service. There was no insight, which is why I asked for the bill and left the location after paying. Unfortunately, this restaurant has nothing to do with hospitality and I don't understand why you don't look for a job where you don't have any contact with customers if you're as keen as the gentleman in the drinks service. It's a shame, but I can't recommend the place. The receipt is attached so that it is not claimed that I was not a customer there and that my report was fictitious. Lovingly, stylishly furnished. Unfortunately, food is only offered until around 1:30 p.m. The cake is delicious. The prices are reasonable.

We only had a cappuccino - it was wonderful!

It was a perfect evening for the four of us for my birthday. The food was simply fantastic – even our biggest critics, the children, loved it. From the main course to the dessert, everything was perfect. The service, especially the friendly gentleman, was great and wished me a happy birthday with his positive and good mood. We always like to come back!

The restaurant offers a very pleasant atmosphere. The service is courteous and the food is excellently prepared. This restaurant is highly recommended for a cozy meal for two or a larger group.

It's a shame, this beautiful restaurant deserves better cuisine. I am a native of Verden and used to enjoy eating there often, alone and in company. Now this disappointment! Yesterday my wife and I wanted to give the no longer completely new operating team the chance to show to what extent the good tradition is being continued. My wife took a vegetarian dish: Selma potato. Coarse pieces of potatoes (triplets?), mushrooms and walnuts (?) were drowned in a completely tasteless cream swamp and baked with cheese. The “herbal cream” lacked the herbs and my wife lacked the words to adequately describe this disaster. - I took the Calvados chicken, the Domschänke classic. The chicken breast was extremely dry (there are tips on how to prevent this on the internet), the grayish "apple-calvados herb sauce" not only lacked herbs (tarragon would work well) and the "baked potato wedges with honey and sweet chili" did Visually it made a good impression, but the consistency didn't reflect this and turned out to be a sweet slush. And the “espresso”? Biel water, few beans... We sat on the sunny terrace in the warm late summer weather, so that we could see the yucca palm in a black plastic pot that had seen better days, the dried herb in a beautiful plant bowl and the unimaginative table decoration, a young rosemary branch Plastic pot, didn't bother me any further.

I celebrated my big birthday with 14 guests in the Domschänke. That was really nice! I live in Schwarmstedt, but my guests come from Hoya and the surrounding area. I chose the Domschänke because of the rating on Google and because my guests didn't have to travel far. We are all pensioners already :-) I had reserved, everything was as I had previously discussed with the service. The reception was very professional, every guest received a glass of sparkling wine, pure orange juice, or orange juice/champagne as a welcome from the service. I really thought it was great how the two ladies did it - they were always there when someone wanted something without being in the foreground. The atmosphere is very nice, we had a nice long table to ourselves, everyone had enough space and yet we sat so that we could have a good chat with our guests. We had a great soup and then 3 main courses to choose from. That also went so smoothly and easily - as I said, the service was great! For dessert there was a crème brûlée - everyone loved the food. The cake buffet that followed was almost too much of a good thing, but who can say no to homemade cakes? The next day my guests thanked me again for the lovely day and the good food. Of course I'm very happy about that and I would like to pass on my thanks to the Domschänke. I will definitely be happy to have my next celebration with you again - thank you again for the lovely day.

Food was quite good and tasty, unfortunately there was no coffee, tea or dessert. We were a group and would have had to pre-order dessert as they didn't have the quantity. But if the tables and seats only offer food then it's not enough, comparable to a holiday apartment with four beds but unfortunately only two duvets. The staff is quite brisk and makes a clear statement to us. It doesn't work at all!

A great restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and very tasty food. We enjoyed our wedding dinner there in August. Great planning from the chef with nice suggestions and great implementation. Very, very tasty and the guests were also thrilled. Thank you

A beautiful and cozy restaurant with great staff and incredibly delicious food. The atmosphere is cozy, warm and inviting. Hidden between the cathedral and a bit of greenery, this is a great place to wind down and end the evening. I would always come back to try out the seasonal menu!

Very good cuisine away from the mainstream

Das Lokal / Restaurant sieht auf den ersten Blick sehr sauber und gepflegt aus. Das Personal ist nett wie erwartet und die Tische ausstreichend hübsch bedeckt. Zusammen haben wir satte 40 Minuten auf unser Essen warten müssen. Die Hausgemachten Bandnudeln mit Bärlauch Pesto mit Kirschtomate(N) ! und gebratenen Champignons, Rucola mit frischem Parmesan waren ziemlich enttäuschend. Auf dem gesamten Teller und unter den Nudeln, fand man mit viel Glück eine zerfallene verkochte HALBE Tomate. Die sogenannten Champignons waren ganz klar typische Glaspilze und somit auch nichts besonderes. Das Pesto war sehr gut und schmeckte sehr frisch. Die Nudeln, Pesto und der Parmesan sind die einzigen Komponenten, die dieses Gericht zu einem "ausreichend" verhalfen. Die Nudeln waren viel zu sehr mit Ölen zubereitet, welches sich am unteren Tellerbereich schon sammelte. Im Guten und Ganzen war es somit ziemlich enttäuschend oder das Können ist einfach nicht für solche leichten Gerichte gegeben. Was an Tomaten und an frischen Champignons fehlt, wird mit einer übertriebenen Menge Petersilie getoppt. Unsere Begleitung waren ansonsten mit ihren bestellten Gerichten / Knipp mit Beilagen und das Gericht Schweinemedallions sehr zufrieden.

Solid German dishes prepared deliciously. Friendly service, clean sanitary area. All dishes can also be served as senior portions upon request.

The food and service is very good. Unfortunately, the acoustics in the restaurant are not very optimal. Unfortunately it seems very loud when people are talking at the tables.

We celebrated our birthday with almost 30 people in the Domschänke and simply have to give it 5 stars. Price/performance is right. First-class buffet, great “old school” service and a very nice ambience in a historic building with modern interior design. Thank you for the lovely day!

Very good food and nice staff, even when there is a fire

A good nice restaurant in the old town. The service is friendly, there are plenty of seats and the food was delicious. The Knipp was outstanding, while I had hoped for more from the house-made shortcrust pastry biscuit with the coffee.

Nice atmosphere, food ok, bad service Wait 40 minutes for the waiter to take the order, even though there wasn't much going on. Replaced sweet potato fries with regular fries, which wasn't mentioned until serving.

Das Lokal ist wirklich schön gelegen und bietet in den Sommermonaten einen tollen und authentischen Außenbereich, den wir bei unserem Besuch auch genutzt haben. Das Essen ist durchweg sehr gut und etwas Besonderes. Hier ist man gut aufgehoben wenn es darum geht, gut und gemütlich zu Speisen. Auch die Aperitif liegen im Trent und sind wirklich lecker. Der Service ist wirklich aufmerksam und entgegenkommend und sogar für einen kurzen Plausch zu haben. Sofern wir wieder im Norden sind, kommen wir gern wieder.

Super Essen und freundliches Personal.

Die Qualität nimmt nur noch ab! Ich wurde schon öfter zum Essen dorthin eingeladen, aber nun musste ich mal eine Bewertung schreiben, da ich es wirklich immer schlechter finde. Die Preise sind etwas höher als bei anderen Restaurants, was an sich auch eine gute Qualität erwarten lässt. Doch ich habe Nudeln bestellt und erstens gab es die Pilze nicht, die auf der Karte stehen, dafür wurden andere angeboten. Das war soweit in Ordnung bis das Essen kam und es wirklich keine frischen Pilze sein konnten, sondern zum Teil eine tiefkühl Mischung untergemischt wurde. Es war sogar noch Sand dazwischen! Die Soße hat auch kaum nach etwas geschmeckt, die Nudeln waren kurz vor zerkocht und von Spinat und wirklich matschigen Tomaten war nur wenig zu sehen. Für solche Nudeln 17€ zu bezahlen war schon enttäuschend. Der Salat den ich dazu bestellt habe war wenigstens lecker und wirkte frisch, aber das reißt die Hauptspeise auch nicht raus. Zudem mussten wir recht lange, vor allem auf die Getränke warten, obwohl nicht so viel los war. Es war auch nicht das erste Mal, dass uns aufgefallen ist, wie lange alles dauert. Immerhin war die Bedienung freundlich.
