Very nice cozy restaurant. Ideal for stopping off on bike tours or hikes.

Very nice outdoor space with lots of shade, therefore a pleasant stay. Service is quick and friendly. Food was and tasted very good. Had sauerbraten once and beef roulade once. There are also Greek dishes on offer, but I can't say anything about them today. Come again.

I can only report on the outdoor area, which is very old, not comfortable, just run down.

Here you can eat well, both traditional and Greek.

After 7 visits and many different dishes, I can only give this restaurant 5 stars. All dishes were always freshly prepared and homemade. Both the outside and the inside areas are comfortable and also suitable for larger groups of people. Smaller events take place regularly. A big thank you should also go to the kitchen, for which special requests that arise from time to time are then promptly fulfilled. We recommend this restaurant unconditionally, even if you have a long journey.

Always worth a stop. Especially when the weather is nice, the snack bar with outdoor seating was always in high demand. I can remember times when you couldn't find any space at all. Yesterday - even though it was Saturday, even though the weather was wonderful, even though there were lots of cyclists out and about - it was almost completely empty. This could be due to the (perhaps) immensely skyrocketed prices, which almost shocked us a bit.

Today was an absolute disaster. Waited 45 minutes just for the drinks! Well, some guests came later and were served sooner. It happened, no matter...It was also annoying that there were three small children with us who were thirsty. I probably don't have to explain to anyone what the kiddies were like after that time... Plus a "boss" who came across as mushy and overly funny and sometimes half-screaming. Just unpleasant! A reason to never come here again. It's a shame because the atmosphere is really nice. I can't rate the food because we were already “full” and left without ordering (we didn't get any tickets either)! Oh yes, we then drove to Gundorf/Böhlitz Ehrenberg to the Greek restaurant, where we were full and happy. Since we come from Rückmarsdorf, we will tell anyone who asks us (or not) about this negative experience. Are really mad at the current restaurateurs! ☹️

We all know that the catering industry is currently having a very difficult time. High food and energy prices, no staff, this is of course reflected in the prices of food and drinks. My colleague and I were in the Domholzschänke last Wednesday. We each ordered a draft beer and gyros with fries. The gyros was only delivered with rice. When asked about this, fries were served later. You had to look for the gyros on the plate. For €16.90 plus €1.80 for the fries, in my opinion this was a complete impudence. I occasionally work in the catering industry myself - I would be ashamed to offer something like that to a guest.

Went there for Sunday lunch today, it was full and we didn't have a reservation, but we were able to find a place for two people. We haven't been here for a long time and it was worth going. Everything was great, food, service, atmosphere Keep it up

Beautiful hiking trails and a really great restaurant. We will come more often now. 😄

Went there on a recommendation because we were starting school, so we went to the beer garden/snack bar with our dog. It wasn't too busy, but both waitresses were unfriendly. The garden would be a goldmine if it were cared for. Weeds everywhere, empty buckets partially overgrown with weeds. Two plastic boxes with the seat cushions were in the middle of the field of vision and were already broken. Paint, fresh flowers, new chairs and just a little more care and we would come back. Were very disappointed, could look much nicer. The restaurant is the complete opposite.

Everyone will find a place here - inside in the restaurant or outside in the beer garden. The dishes are Greek/German. The price-performance ratio is good. The service works well. The tent is used variably depending on the weather.

The snack bar is also open on weekends and public holidays. The Domholzschänke offers a large beer garden, most of which is covered. The service was friendly and attentive. Fresh drinks came quickly and we enjoyed the food. The menu offers a home-style section, many Greek dishes and also some vegetarian and a small vegan selection. The children's playground is very sunny until around 2/2:30 p.m. There are some interesting local birds to observe around.

Very tasty food and also very friendly staff. Great outdoor space. Price/performance ratio is okay. We ate here twice during our week-long vacation and enjoyed it each time. A little tip: don’t forget mosquito repellent.

Very nice atmosphere BUT, the food is getting less and less on the plate for the increasing amount of money you pay... The service is sometimes like this, sometimes like that. (sometimes it takes ages before you even get a card or can place the order)

We ate here today with our little daughter. The atmosphere is great, quiet and beautifully located. The food was super tasty and arrived quickly. The staff very nice. All in all a great restaurant with great opening times.

It has always been and still is a great place to visit

As nice as it is that this restaurant is operating again... I was here again for the first time in 20 years and was very disappointed. We only bought 2 ice creams, but even that, including the waffle, was just disgusting. The staff didn't understand anything either. Damn sad, but it definitely doesn't deserve more than 1 star.

We tried it twice and won't eat there again. The ambience is good, the starters were okay, the main course wasn't that great. There really are better restaurants with better service in the area.

However, what is meant here is the snack bar.

Three weeks ago I had lunch with my parents on Sunday. It was great weather, but my father (84 years old) prefers to sit in the guest room. We asked the staff if we could sit inside. After puffing up our cheeks and thinking about it for a moment, we were allowed into the dining room. I understand that when the weather is nice the staff prefer to serve outside, so the staff can chat in peace at the counter while waiting for the drinks. But you shouldn't make gestures with your cheeks in front of your guests. My father had brawn with fried potatoes = my father liked it, the fried potatoes didn't blow me away. My mother had grilled knuckle with sauerkraut and dumplings = You can't talk about grilled knuckle. In its first life it could have been a grilled knuckle, but on that day it was a dark, mushy rind, nothing crispy about it. The sauerkraut tasted like the cook had forgotten to season it. I had steak with seasoned meat. A great dish, I like to eat it = Unfortunately my food was too salty.

There were four of us eating here. There is a German and Greek menu. I had knuckle with a Bavarian Hell which was absolutely delicious. So gladly again! Waiters were a bit inattentive, but food came quickly.

The food is amazing... sorry, I'm honestly Neutal The service is good but if a guest sits with an empty glass for about 10 minutes... That's bad... But not wild, the ambience is quiet, natural and yet modern. There are wasps during the day and mosquitoes in the evening, but they can't do much about it... Scented candles would be a measure... That's the negative but otherwise I can only say good things. Of course there are spiders hanging in the toilet ceiling but you're also in the middle of it Forest / in nature... Otherwise the sanitary facilities are clean and tidy! The small playground and the bird enclosures are a nice change and not at all disturbing, on the contrary... Empty.... We'll be happy to come back, just better armed against the flying troublemakers.... 🤘🏻

First of all I have to say the food was really good. Unfortunately, if the waitress doesn't really listen because he's in a mood, you get the wrong food or drink or he doesn't even know what you mean. We didn't dare say anything after the first wrong order while drinking and then while eating. When you order a fried potato and get fries or order a bottle of water and get a glass of water. It wasn't a nice atmosphere and we really spent a lot of money there. What a pity!!!!!

Went to the Domholzschänke today and were very disappointed. Unfortunately, all of the dishes we ate contained a high level of convenience and simply didn't taste good. Some of the food was cold.

The food was very tasty, it was busy and all the wait staff were a bit overwhelmed, but overall it was a nice stay and we would like to come back.

Even though we had to wait a bit because of the many guests, the staff gave their all. The food and the waiting time for it were ok. The food in the restaurant is good value for money. But not in the snack bar or drinks. The journey by car is lengthy and annoying when there is oncoming traffic on the remaining stretch from the entrance to the main road.

There are many tables in the fresh air, there is a forest all around, a huge plus is there is a children's playground. Large portions, tasty, normal prices, be sure to book a table, service is long due to the huge number of people, we waited an hour for our food.

Large, well-kept beer garden/restaurant outdoor area. Service wasn't always completely attentive. Prices in the upper range. For me, the loud music with pop music was inappropriate for this restaurant in the woods where you want to hear the birds chirping. I was also annoyed by the penetrating smokers two tables away, whose smoke was always wafting over. It would be desirable to set up non-smoking areas outside. Clean toilet facilities. Kiosk is not always open.

Very tasty food (with the exception of the rice that was way too tomatoey, especially if you don't like tomatoes). We ate fish - in keeping with Good Friday - which was very tasty, but there was only this side dish. The service staff were extremely courteous, quick and humorous. We would love to come back, at the latest for the summer cabaret with the academixers.

The good old Domholzschänke is waiting for visitors again. It's exciting when the beer garden season begins. The grill station is already open, a heated tent makes it possible.

The Domholzschänke is wonderfully located and a nice starting point for walks and bike rides. But I think the snack bar in particular doesn't make enough of it. I can't judge the restaurant. Everything seems a bit run down, the chairs are uncomfortable, there are plastic cups instead of glasses and there are signs everywhere saying what is forbidden. Despite the beautiful location, the owners manage to get me to drink my beer there and then quickly leave because I don't feel well.

The destination is very traditional and has a very neat and tidy appearance. The food is delicious, affordable and you receive a friendly welcome and quick service. We would love to come back.

Haven't been here for a long time. It's a shame that the restaurant is a bit remote, but the location itself, especially in summer, is worth it. The food was OK, but nothing exceptional. There is nothing to complain about in terms of service. The Domholzschänke simply belongs to Schkeuditz and we very much hope that this restaurant can celebrate its 100+ years. It would then be a great shame and a lost piece of regional history. But since I have now looked at a few reviews from others and the answers from the owner, I have to deduct 2 additional stars. When it comes to bad reviews, excuses are often used endlessly, justifying themselves by something, instead of using them as an opportunity to change something and win the guest back. Because he will also tell his friends and family about it. Also clear statements “if you give a bad rating, we don’t want you here”. As a bystander, this allows you to look deeply into management leadership. I continue to wish only the best, but apparently you can't handle criticism as well as you should as a restaurateur.

Bei besten und freundlichen Service ein sehr gutes Essen (Rouladen, Wild- Gulasch, Sauerbraten) in einem super Ambiente.

Diese Gaststätte ist zu Fuß und per Auto gut erreichbar. Sie ist im Inneren und bei entsprechenden Wetter auch im Außenbereich sehr gemütlich. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, das Essen gut und mehr als reichlich. Alles in allem ein guter Tipp!

Leckeres Essen 😋 in gemütlicher Atmosphäre

Eine sehr schöne versteckte Gaststätte, in der griechische und deutsche Küche angeboten wird. Beides ist sehr schmackhaft. Als Nachtisch oder zum Kaffee ist der Apfelstrudel sehr zu empfehlen. Eine Eiskarte gibt es auch. Danach kann man schön spazieren oder Radfahren.

Ein angenehmer Ort. Sehr freundliches Personal. Reichhaltiges Speiseangebot. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten im Aussengelände. Einen Besuch kann ich jedem empfehlen.

Wir waren heute vor Ort mit der Familie und es war leider überhaupt nicht gut. Von eintreffen bis die Bedienung das erste mal am Tisch war vergingen 25 Minuten. Bei einer angeblichen Pfanne mit Fleisch Spezialitäten kam ein Teller mit Gulasch vom Rind, Huhn und angeblich Lammfleisch. Das Fleisch war leider ungenießbar und wurde am ende für den Hund eingepackt. Das angebliche Grillgemüse waren ein paar Bohnen und ein bisschen paprika. Das Gericht kam 23 Euro und war am Ende nicht besser als in einer Firmenkantine und nicht mehr als maximal 10 Euro wert. Einige Gäste sind nach 20 min einfach wieder gegangen weil sie nicht beachtet wurden, andere haben sich am außenimbiss selber getränke im plastikbecher geholt weil die Bedienung nicht fähig war und andere räumten selber ihren Tisch ab weil keine Bedienung kam. Am ende waren von unseren 13 Personen 10 Personen total enttäuscht, der Rest waren 3 Kinder. Das war für alle das letzte Mal.

Total überforderter Service, viel zu wenig Personal. Wer etwas bestellen will muss den Kellnern hinterherlaufen und auch das ist keine Garantie.

Das deutsche Essen war teilweise nicht überzeugend, vielleicht ist das bei dem griechischen Angebot nicht der Fall. Kann ich aber nicht beurteilen. Das Personal scheint dauerhaft in einer Abwehrhaltung zu sein, sobald man eine Nachfrage hat, die bei uns zu keinem Zeitpunkt negativ gedacht war. Das zeigt mir, dass es hier schön öfter mal Kritik seitens Kundschaft gegeben haben muss. Ist aber auch nur eine Vermutung. Es fehlt die Herzlichkeit, die man aus anderen gut geführten Restaurants kennt. Schade eigentlich, denn das Ambiente war recht ansprechend.

Für Café und Kuchen, sowie den schnellen Hunger immer eine gute Adresse.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zu vorkommend. Ein Ausflug mit Hund und Kindern sehr empfehlenswert da es ein kleinen Spiel Platz gibt. Sehr ruhiges Ambiente 👍👍

Wir waren Heute auf der Durchreise dort essen und waren positiv überrascht was das Essen anging, alles frisch und super lecker! Das Ambiente außen ist nicht ganz so schön, drinnen sah es besser aus. Toiletten waren alle top sauber. Wir werden bei Gelegenheit wiederkommen.

Mückenterror! Da könnte man als Gastgeber mit entsprechenden Pflanzen oder Duftkerzen etwas Abhilfe schaffen. Die männlichen Bedienungen gaben sich keine Mühe, dass man ihr Deutsch versteht und wirkten gestresst, was sich natürlich negativ auf die Stimmung aller auswirkt. Beim Essen gab es Unstimmigkeiten und es musste zugezahlt werden. Getränke wurden schnell und gut gekühlt geliefert, das war super, auch der Standort ist wirklich schön. Insgesamt gesehen, wird es aber keinen 2. Besuch geben.
