The food is okay. More suited to cyclists passing through, as it's located deep in the forest.

Great for a bike ride. We like to stop there. The furniture in the beer garden has become a bit worn over the years and could use some repairs or replacements. Otherwise, we're always happy to come back. They also have something for a little snack; our child just misses the wieners. 😉

Some of the food on the menu is not labeled with allergens. For vegans there are only grilled vegetables, pasta/bread with vegetables or beans. However, the grilled vegetables are not grilled, but fried in plenty of oil. There was only one waitress for a lot of outside tables. Accordingly, she had a lot to do and couldn't keep up - understandably.

Getting old! The surroundings are idyllic, the outdoor snack bar is very old, but OK for a sausage. Unfortunately, card payment is not possible here, so at least for us the visit to the restaurant was over. There was still enough cash for the snack. The woman at the counter was very friendly, but unfortunately the man was very arrogant! However, we will not come back a second time.

Easter Sunday for brunch. Price-performance didn't convince me. Otherwise recommended.

We were here for the first time at Easter and the conclusion was very mixed. The food tasted pretty good, BUT the way there was more than long - if we hadn't taken care of taking the orders ourselves (several times!), we would still be sitting there today. You'll quickly be forgotten inside when it's buzzing outside. Unfortunately, half of our group went home hungry because the main courses were really small (but expensive) with the exception of the knuckle and brawn. Filling side dishes for the Greek dishes cost €4.50 extra, something I've never experienced before. Regarding the ambience: we found it uncomfortable inside and our room was partly dirty (pasta under the decorations and crumbs on the floor). Birdsong from the band is also very disturbing. Speaking of birds, the ducks and pheasants kept in the outdoor aviaries would be a nice addition if done right. The furnishings and the nets/grids were carelessly made and seemed unprofessional, and signs about the species would actually be obvious if you were building a "zoo" into the playground. But it was really a sad sight. Conclusion: Unfortunately we won't be coming back. Too expensive, too little, too unreliable, and the great location doesn't help much.

Homemade potato salad was delicious, but Thuringian smoked sausage was cold, which was a shame and expensive. Friendly staff

We had a very great experience in the Domholzschänke today. Despite written confirmation, our reservation for 7 people for the Easter buffet could not be found. Without further ado, a table was pulled together and prepared for us in the dining room, so that after this brief shock for everyone, nothing stood in the way of our Easter dinner. They apologized several times for the oversight. We were very impressed by the hospitality, the service and ultimately also the buffet. Very good food and there was something for everyone. Friendly service and good German/Greek cuisine in a rustic atmosphere.

We were there with 4 people last Sunday and had reserved a table. The staff was friendly, if a bit overworked, although not all tables were occupied. The dishes tasted good and the meat was tender, but unfortunately it wasn't (anymore) hot, and my red cabbage was only lukewarm. In order to be able to order a dessert or drink after our meal, we had to make our presence known. We had to ask for the bill three times. I hope that these problems will be resolved quickly before the excursion season really gets going. But the furnishings were very comfortable.

Nice location in the forest. Also highly recommended for wheelchair users. Access has been made barrier-free. However, there is no roll-up toilet in the house

If you stop for a quick break between a walk, it's OK, but the service seemed unstructured and I would also expect home-baked cakes in a restaurant.

We stopped here for lunch on a weekday on a bike ride. You can sit nicely in the winter garden of the restaurant and listen to birdsong from the loudspeaker. It wasn't crowded and the staff had time to take care of the guests. The small dishes are sufficient for a snack.

We were here in the summer of 2024 and sat in the outdoor area. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and very good food. On this occasion the interiors were "inspected"; great. Will visit again on January 16, 2025 with friends.

Wir hatten einen Geburtstag in der Veranda gefeiert. Die Tafel war wunderschön eingedeckt. Sowohl die Vorspeisen als auch die Hauptgerichte wurden als Buffet serviert. Ich kann sagen, das Essen war perfekt: vielseitig, heiss und sehr schmackhaft. Auch der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Wir bedanken uns für den wunderschönen Tag und können die Domholzschänke auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Nice atmosphere, great location, friendly service. Unfortunately there is no vegetarian option outside other than dry bread rolls. That wouldn't be difficult with a lentil soup 🙃 Maybe next year.

We were there again for Christmas. There was a menu which consisted of several courses. We ordered extra fries for 2 of the children because they asked if the children would eat the menu. Since the children didn't like anything on the menu, we asked that the fries be served to the children right at the beginning of the menu. This was not done even after repeated requests and our small children had to watch and wait until the 4th course and therefore almost 1.5 hours until they got fries and something to eat. As a third course there was a scoop of lemon sorbet with orange juice for the children, but even a hungry 4 year old wouldn't be happy with that... unfortunately the food itself wasn't particularly tasty and the dessert buffet wasn't labeled. If you expect a bowl of vanilla cream because it is served next to the bowl of chocolate cream and then only spoon whipped cream, then that's not so great. Unfortunately, we also found long hair in several dishes. We won't come back!

We had tickets for a 5-course menu for 7 people on Christmas Day at 1:30 p.m purchased in advance. Are very satisfied with it. Starting with the appetizer over that Main course to dessert - everything is great! Kudos also to our waiter, who... As a Greek, I knew how to deal with the guests. All in all, a successful holiday. There is Greek and German cuisine. A nice destination for a break and refreshment for cycling or hiking tours. In summer you can also use the outdoor seating to use.

Food was quite ok! There were 4 of us and we each had something different! Ambiance only 2 stars because the girls found the toilets really bad! It was probably pretty unclean!

Unfortunately our food wasn't hot and the sauce that was ordered with it never arrived at the table. The children's schnitzels were very firm and dry. They chewed and chewed... It's a shame that we had the impression that there weren't enough staff for the restaurant, which was very busy on Sunday! We won't be back anytime soon 😞

A very great holiday home, it is inviting just by its external appearance and surroundings. We stopped by spontaneously and the team is quick, friendly and gives great advice.... Keep it up, I last experienced this hospitality and caring manner in Berlin and that was half a year ago... The food is fresh and delicious , we are happy to recommend...The portions are just the right size, everything your heart desires. We especially think about the little guests; they can while away the time until dinner in the playground that is located on the premises. A small snack shop caters to your hunger with home-style cooking if you just want to eat something smaller. All in all, you still get ***** in addition to the other five.... We say thank you.... Today we returned for a long time and we immediately felt at home again, everything is the same as already written above, highly recommended, just great...

Food was okay, the beer garden and playground were really nice. Unfortunately, the waiting times were far too long and the service became increasingly unfriendly over time.

I was in the beer garden this afternoon and there were a lot of tables with dishes not cleared away and the service (2-3 cr fte) was unfortunately probably overwhelmed by the situation (crowds of guests) ......and that with the prices.... I think it's better to switch to another restaurant, which is actually a shame.

We celebrated my mother's birthday in a small group. Everyone was impressed with the food. The operators and their team are always helpful and very friendly. We've been there several times and would love to come back.

Very nice outdoor space with lots of shade, therefore a pleasant stay. Service is quick and friendly. Food was and tasted very good. Had sauerbraten once and beef roulade once. There are also Greek dishes on offer, but I can't say anything about them today. Come again.

After 7 visits and many different dishes, I can only give this restaurant 5 stars. All dishes were always freshly prepared and homemade. Both the outside and the inside areas are comfortable and also suitable for larger groups of people. Smaller events take place regularly. A big thank you should also go to the kitchen, for which special requests that arise from time to time are then promptly fulfilled. We recommend this restaurant unconditionally, even if you have a long journey.

Always worth a stop. Especially when the weather is nice, the snack bar with outdoor seating was always in high demand. I can remember times when you couldn't find any space at all. Yesterday - even though it was Saturday, even though the weather was wonderful, even though there were lots of cyclists out and about - it was almost completely empty. This could be due to the (perhaps) immensely skyrocketed prices, which almost shocked us a bit.

Today was an absolute disaster. Waited 45 minutes just for the drinks! Well, some guests came later and were served sooner. It happened, no matter...It was also annoying that there were three small children with us who were thirsty. I probably don't have to explain to anyone what the kiddies were like after that time... Plus a "boss" who came across as mushy and overly funny and sometimes half-screaming. Just unpleasant! A reason to never come here again. It's a shame because the atmosphere is really nice. I can't rate the food because we were already “full” and left without ordering (we didn't get any tickets either)! Oh yes, we then drove to Gundorf/Böhlitz Ehrenberg to the Greek restaurant, where we were full and happy. Since we come from Rückmarsdorf, we will tell anyone who asks us (or not) about this negative experience. Are really mad at the current restaurateurs! ☹️

Eine Gaststätte, welche aus meiner Sicht für Veranstaltungen in keinster Weise zu empfehlen ist. An Absprachen wurde sich nicht gehalten bzw. man konnte sich nicht erinnern. Da die Gaststätte nur bis 21.00 Uhr geöffnet ist, sollten wir für die Veranstaltung das Bedienpersonal ab 21.00 Uhr selbst bezahlen ... so etwas habe ich noch nie gehört. Ob das Geld je bei diesen Leuten angekommen wäre, ist fraglich.

Wir hatten den 60. Geburtstag eines Familienmitgliedes dort geplant in großer Runde zu feiern. Von Anfang an wurden gewisse Absprachen nicht eingehalten. Seitens unserer Familie wurden dahingehend mehrfach Zugeständnisse gemacht. Inkl. Der Veranstaltung sollten auch die 4 Zimmer für uns reserviert werden. 3 Wochen vor der Feier wurde uns mitgeteilt das 1 der 4 Zimmer nicht zur Verfügung stünde, da dies bereits für die andere zur selben Zeit stattfindende Veranstaltung verplant wurde. Wir haben nach dem ganzen Theater dann unseren Unmut in Form von normaler Aussage dem Herrn des Hauses mitgeteilt. Schließlich haben wir Einladungen bereits verschickt und den Gästen von außerhalb das Zimmer versprochen. 1 Tag nach dem Gespräch kam ein Anruf von der Herrin des Hauses, das die Veranstaltung aufgrund des Telefonates am Vortag abgesagt wird. Vertragsbruch scheint den Leuten kein Begriff zu sein. Keinerlei Rücksicht, im Gegenteil... Für mich, meine Familie, Bekannten, Freunden ect. Wird die Domholzschänke nicht mehr besucht, geschweige denn weiter empfohlen werden. Eine unmögliche Art und Weise des Veranstalters. Und sichtlich was man so im Nachgang hört, kein Einzelfall. :)

We all know that the catering industry is currently having a very difficult time. High food and energy prices, no staff, this is of course reflected in the prices of food and drinks. My colleague and I were in the Domholzschänke last Wednesday. We each ordered a draft beer and gyros with fries. The gyros was only delivered with rice. When asked about this, fries were served later. You had to look for the gyros on the plate. For €16.90 plus €1.80 for the fries, in my opinion this was a complete impudence. I occasionally work in the catering industry myself - I would be ashamed to offer something like that to a guest.

Went there for Sunday lunch today, it was full and we didn't have a reservation, but we were able to find a place for two people. We haven't been here for a long time and it was worth going. Everything was great, food, service, atmosphere Keep it up

Beautiful hiking trails and a really great restaurant. We will come more often now. 😄

Went there on a recommendation because we were starting school, so we went to the beer garden/snack bar with our dog. It wasn't too busy, but both waitresses were unfriendly. The garden would be a goldmine if it were cared for. Weeds everywhere, empty buckets partially overgrown with weeds. Two plastic boxes with the seat cushions were in the middle of the field of vision and were already broken. Paint, fresh flowers, new chairs and just a little more care and we would come back. Were very disappointed, could look much nicer. The restaurant is the complete opposite.

Everyone will find a place here - inside in the restaurant or outside in the beer garden. The dishes are Greek/German. The price-performance ratio is good. The service works well. The tent is used variably depending on the weather.

Very tasty food and also very friendly staff. Great outdoor space. Price/performance ratio is okay. We ate here twice during our week-long vacation and enjoyed it each time. A little tip: don’t forget mosquito repellent.

The snack bar is also open on weekends and public holidays. The Domholzschänke offers a large beer garden, most of which is covered. The service was friendly and attentive. Fresh drinks came quickly and we enjoyed the food. The menu offers a home-style section, many Greek dishes and also some vegetarian and a small vegan selection. The children's playground is very sunny until around 2/2:30 p.m. There are some interesting local birds to observe around.

Very nice atmosphere BUT, the food is getting less and less on the plate for the increasing amount of money you pay... The service is sometimes like this, sometimes like that. (sometimes it takes ages before you even get a card or can place the order)

We ate here today with our little daughter. The atmosphere is great, quiet and beautifully located. The food was super tasty and arrived quickly. The staff very nice. All in all a great restaurant with great opening times.

It has always been and still is a great place to visit

As nice as it is that this restaurant is operating again... I was here again for the first time in 20 years and was very disappointed. We only bought 2 ice creams, but even that, including the waffle, was just disgusting. The staff didn't understand anything either. Damn sad, but it definitely doesn't deserve more than 1 star.

We tried it twice and won't eat there again. The ambience is good, the starters were okay, the main course wasn't that great. There really are better restaurants with better service in the area.

However, what is meant here is the snack bar.

Three weeks ago I had lunch with my parents on Sunday. It was great weather, but my father (84 years old) prefers to sit in the guest room. We asked the staff if we could sit inside. After puffing up our cheeks and thinking about it for a moment, we were allowed into the dining room. I understand that when the weather is nice the staff prefer to serve outside, so the staff can chat in peace at the counter while waiting for the drinks. But you shouldn't make gestures with your cheeks in front of your guests. My father had brawn with fried potatoes = my father liked it, the fried potatoes didn't blow me away. My mother had grilled knuckle with sauerkraut and dumplings = You can't talk about grilled knuckle. In its first life it could have been a grilled knuckle, but on that day it was a dark, mushy rind, nothing crispy about it. The sauerkraut tasted like the cook had forgotten to season it. I had steak with seasoned meat. A great dish, I like to eat it = Unfortunately my food was too salty.

There were four of us eating here. There is a German and Greek menu. I had knuckle with a Bavarian Hell which was absolutely delicious. So gladly again! Waiters were a bit inattentive, but food came quickly.

The food is amazing... sorry, I'm honestly Neutal The service is good but if a guest sits with an empty glass for about 10 minutes... That's bad... But not wild, the ambience is quiet, natural and yet modern. There are wasps during the day and mosquitoes in the evening, but they can't do much about it... Scented candles would be a measure... That's the negative but otherwise I can only say good things. Of course there are spiders hanging in the toilet ceiling but you're also in the middle of it Forest / in nature... Otherwise the sanitary facilities are clean and tidy! The small playground and the bird enclosures are a nice change and not at all disturbing, on the contrary... Empty.... We'll be happy to come back, just better armed against the flying troublemakers.... 🤘🏻

First of all I have to say the food was really good. Unfortunately, if the waitress doesn't really listen because he's in a mood, you get the wrong food or drink or he doesn't even know what you mean. We didn't dare say anything after the first wrong order while drinking and then while eating. When you order a fried potato and get fries or order a bottle of water and get a glass of water. It wasn't a nice atmosphere and we really spent a lot of money there. What a pity!!!!!

Went to the Domholzschänke today and were very disappointed. Unfortunately, all of the dishes we ate contained a high level of convenience and simply didn't taste good. Some of the food was cold.

The food was very tasty, it was busy and all the wait staff were a bit overwhelmed, but overall it was a nice stay and we would like to come back.

Even though we had to wait a bit because of the many guests, the staff gave their all. The food and the waiting time for it were ok. The food in the restaurant is good value for money. But not in the snack bar or drinks. The journey by car is lengthy and annoying when there is oncoming traffic on the remaining stretch from the entrance to the main road.
