My grandfather took me when I was little at a time when people smoked in the establishment, now I go there with my husband and my daughter whenever we come to Saarbrücken. I don't speak the language but I try to make an effort and I have always been well received, there is a certain courtesy with the customers and I always eat there with pleasure.

The Rostwurst at the snack bar is delicious. Can never resist picking one up here. The pub always looks inviting from the outside and is well attended.

Yesterday we had a lovely evening together with the whole DINO BANDE in the discount tavern! Diskonto Schenke is simply a Saarland legend. As an “Exile Saarlander”, a visit to the Discountschenke is a MUST every time you stay in Saarbrücken! The food tastes like home, the waitresses are real veterans and simply GREAT! In addition, the price-performance ratio is right.

The boss is a real fishmonger, unspeakably mean and vulgar. We had it for 19€40, I put 20€40 on the table she didn't give me change (change that I needed for parking in particular) when I told her she told me verbally assaulted me and threw MY €1 while yelling at me. Slow down in German because I didn't leave a tip... Your copy needs to be reviewed madam, your attitude towards customers is clearly not acceptable. 7€50 for a Wurst curry. When you see the responses from the owner of the place who has 0 professionalism and even advises customers to go to their grandmother's house, it's incredibly absurd 🤢🤮

This restaurant was recommended to us by a woman from Saarbrücken. We found it very friendly there and were served straight away. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. The prices are really kept so low that everyone can eat there. I would encourage every visitor to Saarbrücken to stop there.

Ich hatte nach der Arbeit Lust auf eine Rostwurst und beschloss mir am Imbissstand der Diskonto Schenke diese zu kaufen. Im Nachhinein hätte ich diese besser woanders gekauft da die Bedienstete dieses Etablissements wohl etwas überfordert und eher ungehalten über meine Bestellung. 1. Die oben erwähnte Bedienung erschien sehr vertieft in ihre Putztätigkeit 2. Nachdem ich sie gegrüßt hatte wurde mir mit erhobener Stimme und wütendem Gesichtsausdruck 'Bitte' engegengebellt 3. Wortlos und mit sauere Miene händigte sie mir mein Wechselgeld und die Rostwurst aus 4. Nachdem ich ihr ein schönes Wochenende gewünscht hatte kam auch keine Antwort. Ausserdem fiel mir negativ auf daß diese Person extrem lange, lackierte Fingernägel hatte, was sicherlich nicht deutschen Hygienevorgaben entspricht. Mein Fazit: das nächste Mal kaufe ich meine Rostwurst woanders.

My dad was here 50 years ago to eat Gefillde or Dibbelabbes. I haven't been here for many years and everything is still perfect. Professional, friendly service; Chef at the tap the same way; Food still tastes as good as it did back then. Discountschenke is authentic, Saarland - a piece of HOME!

When strolling through Saarbrücken city center, there is always a place to go for good Saarland home cooking. The schnitzels are well fried and available with various sauces, the rump steak is very good, the Saarland dishes such as Gefilde, Stragge or the Lyoner pan with fried egg are the same as you would make at home - simple but delicious. The service is always courteous and quick, even when there are a lot of guests - no one dies of thirst or hunger here. And if you're feeling a little hungry on the go, the attached snack bar offers the usual suspects such as Rostwurst (red/white), currywurst, fries and the like.

No frills, hearty, really tasty meals, some also Saarland specialties. Nicely rustic and nice service. We recommend.

And there are also some special meals dropped on different days! If you want to try these special meals, it is recommended to go early. When I arrived at 18:30 today, they were already sold out.

Food quite ok. The younger of the two conditions was very unfriendly and snotty. Hardly believe that this is an expert. A cheeky reprimand of the place and manner is not like we know in other professional conditions. The boss should think about this... Die Kalbsleber war ausgezeichnet. Der Service und der Preis war sehr gut. Der Besuch lohnt sich immer wieder. Schwierig ist es einen Sitzplatz zu bekommen.

La nourriture est dans le style " street food allemande ". Frites surgelés, les saucisses sont pas mal. On conseille le currywurst. Par contre, un accueil déplorable, misérable, impolis. On se fait jeter les plats sur la table, Si vous êtes français, vous aurez un accueil des plus bas et méprisant. Donc, si vous voulez de la street food allemande vous êtes au bon endroit, mais je vous conseille de ne pas vous arrêter.
