We had a wonderful morning at Dimu. Our special wishes were implemented etc.

I am not a religious person, but James Turrell’s installation gave me a spiritual experience which I don’t want to miss. Truly amazing!

Specially great. Giantinism fits with the church's excessive waste. Impressive like the churches. But not acceptable today. As a Catholic, I felt ashamed in front of my visitors today. They came on my advice, but they were shocked.

Very nice place to relax and enjoy a cappuccino with or without cake in peace. Great panoramic view over the city of Freising over to Weihenstephan and at Fön of the Alps. Everything is clean - prices are ok.

There is currently a beautiful exhibition in the museum about Tassilo and the Bavarians

From the attached cafe and restaurant you have a great view over the roofs of Freising. Almost the feeling of being on a roof top.

Very interesting exhibition! Texts also available in easy language. Staff is present to answer any questions you may have. Important: bring time. There are lockers for bags etc., and you can get a chip for it at the checkout. Inclined elevator system is a great relief. Gladly again!

Very beautiful and architecturally great building. The exhibition is beautifully structured and follows a pattern from the birth of Jesus to his death. Lots of beautiful paintings, statues and decorations. The interior is very simple and modern, very well thought out in how the pieces are displayed. There are always benches - the so-called Freisinger benches, as we were told. Very bright rooms, atypical for a museum with very large, wall-high windows. The tour was given by a very friendly lady who responded to every question and led us through the exhibition at a pleasant pace.

We saw a beautiful exhibition. The circular route to the museum and the whole area above were very nice. We already knew the beautiful old town. It's great that there is now a small mountain railway! What made us sad was that we later saw cars broken into at the free parking lot at train 2.

The Freising Diocesan Museum is open again after extensive renovations in the former boys' seminary. We took the train from Munich main station to Freising, which only took about 20 minutes. took time. The ride with the inclined elevator to Domberg is free. The architecturally very modern courtyard is impressive and is remotely reminiscent of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi next to the Rialto Bridge in Venice. Both the permanent collection and the special exhibitions are worth a visit. Worth mentioning is the wonderfully designed restaurant, also for sitting outside. Great menu of food and drinks. Very good state exhibition! The management staff comes from Bayer. House of history and is as highly competent as it is friendly!

It is difficult to describe in words the abundance and diversity of the almost countless, all of them beautiful, exhibits. Each is sufficiently explained in writing, which is why, in my opinion, there is no need for a tour of the collection. The museum is actually a must for anyone interested in art and religion.

The special exhibition at the House of Bavarian History with the theme of Korbinian is great! The house as a whole is very impressive!

A beautiful place and the light installation is enchanting and magical. The architecture is absolutely worth seeing, simple but elegant and the exhibits on display were very cleverly selected.

We brought my mother-in-law to see the Landesausstellung. It was wonderful. The inclined elevator was working which means we didn't have to wait for the shuttle.

In this historic place, bright, open spaces and friendly people meet church art from all centuries. Excellently curated in one of the most beautiful locations in the Munich area.

The museum seems cold and sterile. For the large exhibition area (ground floor + 1st & 2nd floor), there were (subjectively speaking) relatively few exhibits on display. The museum didn't pick me up. What was negative was that one of the guards rudely asked us to wear the colorful bracelets, which we firmly refused. (Visitors who paid for the special exhibition wear different colored ribbons than others who only paid the standard rate). From my point of view, it would have been enough if the supervisor had simply let him see the bracelets. This would not have left everyone involved with a bad feeling. Domestic law here or here. I would like to see a much more relaxed approach to visitors at this point. After all, we are all just human. Anyone interested in religious folk art and history has come to the right place. People who are not only interested in imparting knowledge but also want a bit of entertainment will not be happy here. Regardless of this, you have a good view of Freising's old town from the museum. Price including special exhibition is quite expensive for what is on offer. Therefore only one star

A very impressive exhibition, in which early Bavarian history is clearly presented. Some of the explanations are offered in simple language that is understandable even for children. I particularly liked the Tassilo chalice and the videos that depict and explain various points in Bavarian history.

A very interesting exhibition The journey was worth it

The Brückners have created a unique place here, we always enjoy coming here.

Some of the staff are extremely unfriendly (in particular the tone of the attendant in front of the white room is completely unacceptable: "Wait a minute, I'm not finished with you yet").

Last week I visited the exhibition on 1300 years of the diocese. Unfortunately the new elevator was out of service. The exhibition was very interesting and has a lot to offer about Bavarian history. Two exciting main characters, Tassilo and Korbinian. A light installation was special because it was an unexpected highlight. I Texts, films and guide were really great. I find the display of the stuffed bear Bruno, which has nothing to do with the history of the diocese or the anniversary, all the more out of place and embarrassing. A real eyesore on a very successful exhibition. According to legend, Korbinian tamed his bear and did not kill it.

The museum has now reopened after several years of renovation and will be inaugurated with this year's state exhibition. Worth seeing; unfortunately the new elevator is broken. The parking garage at the cathedral is currently free.

A very successful exhibition and museum rooms that offer great perspectives of the city inside and out. Absolutely worth a visit. Be sure to stop by the cafe in the basement. The furnishings and art are impressive and at the same time there is good food, although it also has its price.

You can just tell that love was put into this. I am a hobby professional museum critic. I would rather have learned what Bavaria used to look like and the way from Korbinian than to forget 1000 things. It would be perfect if the lower part of the upper part had continued a little in the same style and the purely Christian part had been reduced a little.

Beautifully renovated museum. Impressive hall with high glazed ceiling. I was there because of the Tassilo Chalice, which can be seen as part of the state exhibition. However, the collection of sacred art, which has certainly been compiled meticulously and with great expertise, is not mine...

The building on top of the Domberg alone is worth a visit. We were there as part of the “Tassilo, Korbinian and the Bear” exhibition, which is well worth seeing. But the permanent exhibition and the inner courtyard with the Turell light installation are also worth a visit. There is also a very nice restaurant.

The state exhibition Tassilo Korbinian and the Bear is the most interesting state exhibition in a long time. The period of the early Middle Ages in Bavaria, which does not correspond territorially to current Bavaria, is the most fascinating part of Bavarian history of all, and it was high time that this topic was examined again after the state exhibition in 1988. The exhibition is also quite successful, although I could have dispensed with Mr. Süss's "funny" but mostly rather flat jokes in the films in favor of a more scientifically prepared analysis. But such cultural populism is unfortunately in keeping with the spirit of the times We also took part in one of the regular tours of the state exhibition. Although the guide was pleasant, she was relatively superficial and sparing in her information and did not go into important aspects, for example neither the lex baiuvariorum nor... The early medieval monastery foundations are addressed. Fortunately, there is an excellent exhibition catalog that goes into more depth on all the topics that the exhibition made me curious about. I will definitely visit the exhibition again.

A great exhibition, very appealing and not boring at all. Lots of interactive objects and sound and film presentations. In addition to the Christian focus, you learn a lot about Bavarian history. Highly recommended!

Brilliant state exhibition with outstanding exhibits

Just forget about the food and then don't even apologize.

But you should have at least a spark of Christian conviction and historical knowledge in order to be able to classify everything in a spiritually relevant way.

With the Ganzfeld installation in the Diocese of Freising, James Turrell also provides a very impressive experience that I can only recommend. Unfortunately, the museum employee guarding the chapel disturbed the almost magical atmosphere that the room is able to create. After 5 minutes (!) she shooed us out in an unfriendly tone: "There are others waiting." When my son stumbled a bit, she became overly annoyed. It's a shame about the beautiful atmosphere!

The 73 million for the renovation were really well spent here. Even the toilets are absolutely worth seeing! There are now 90 light rooms designed by James Turrell on all continents. More of them, for example, in Wattens (Tyrol) or Baden Baden. Great museum!

Great museum, but the toilets are the real highlight, the most beautiful toilet in all of Freising, probs go out to the artist!

With these outstanding objects of nativity art, the new nativity scene exhibition could have been a real highlight if only one nativity scene had been well placed. You have to build landscapes for the figures in order to show them off to their best advantage and not build them first and then see how you can or can't accommodate the figures. It's a shame, a really missed opportunity to do something really great with these great stocks. You can do it much better if you can!!

Spannende Ausstellung Beeindruckendes Gebäude

30 min. Von München mit Zug , es lohnt sich zu besuchen.

Unser heutiger Museumsbesuch war ein voller Erfolg. Hell, freundlich und wunderschöne Ausstellungsstücke und Leihgaben. Besonders beeindruckend war die Franz von Assisi Ausstellung. Das anschließende Mittagessen im Café war gut. Service freundlich. Ohne Reservierung hatten wir Glück einen Platz für eine Stunde zu bekommen. Erstklassiger Cappuccino! Allgemein im Café sehr teuer. Parkhaus am Domberg war kostenlos aber eng. Mit größeren Autos nicht zu empfehlen, viele Kratzer und Schrammen an der Wand.

Ich war als Trauredner in diesem Museum um eine freie Trauung durchzuführen. Die Räumlichkeiten und die ausgestellten Exponate sind sehenswert. An diesem Ort könnte man sich vorstellen, einen Film zu drehen. Das Gebäude wirkt auf der einen Seite, mittelalterlich, aber aufgrund der überwiegend schwarz-weißen Farbgebung ebenso futuristisch.

Fiat Lux! Das neue Diözesanmuseum ist ein lichtdurchflutetetes Museum, dass v.a. im Vergleich zu seiner früheren Architektur viel freundlicher wirkt. Die Exponate sind sehr sehenswert, wobei wegen der Spezifität wohl eine Führung zu empfehlen ist. Ich habe es bislang nur ohne Führung besucht und den gesamten Kontext nicht komplett erfassen können. Was mich besonders freut ist, dass im Rahmen der Renovierung der südliche Teil des Domberg weiter erschlossen und zugänglich gemacht wurde. Als Schüler des Dom-Gymnasiums wollte ich dort immer einmal spazieren gehen. Der Museumsshop ist gut sortiert. Der Eintritt ist auch erschwinglich.

Ein architektonisches Kleinod mit einer modern inszenierten, lehrreichen Sammlung auf Weltniveau. Nicht nur für gläubige Christen interessant, sondern für alle die Kunst, Geschichte und schöne Dinge mögen.

Obwohl wir nur die Krippen Ausstellung sehen wollten, war die restliche Ausstellung sehr interessant
