Super delicious food and very friendly service. I can definitely recommend the schnitzel! We'll definitely be back!

A few weeks ago, a friend and I found the restaurant "Schnitzelschmiede" (which apparently also means "Kitchen and Culture" or "Food Boutique") on Uber Eats. We were very surprised that they had a vegan menu, as the name didn't initially suggest it. I ordered a BBQ bacon burger, which tasted very authentic (almost too authentic), but I didn't think much of it at first. The burger was flat and large, which is also rather unusual for a vegan burger. My friend had a schnitzel that tasted more like fish and a Belgian waffle, which was forgotten. After this order, I told many of my friends about the Schmiede, because we usually go to the same three restaurants in Mönchengladbach. So, my motivation to order again was quite high, and I also really wanted to try the remaining burgers. After that, things went completely downhill. In the meantime, several friends had already reported that their food (meat) wasn't that great. found. I didn't let that deter me, however, and ordered a second time with the same friend. Her Belgian waffle was consistently forgotten, the bacon burger didn't have any bacon, and my chili cheeseburger had chili cheese nuggets carelessly pressed onto a strangely thick meatball. Since the first order had convinced me so much, and I didn't want to believe that I'd probably just gotten meat, I gave the Food Kultur Schmieden Boutique one last chance. This opportunity was ruined as badly as possible. I ordered another bacon burger and a chicken burger. When they arrived, I couldn't tell them apart. The bacon burger, of course, had no bacon (why should it have been, you just pay a lot for it), and instead of the thick meatballs, they simply used vegan schnitzels. (We remember the ones that taste like fish.) Since my friend and I were really wondering what was going on, we called. The answer we got was Just as bad as the food. "We didn't put any bacon on the burger because we didn't have any. You know how it is with vegan products." In between, she also kept talking about vegetarian bacon instead of vegan, and finally offered to just put animal-based bacon on it (huh?). Regarding the point that vegan products are hard to come by: That's simply not true. Even in Mönchengladbach, almost every store (except for that dumpy Netto) now has vegan bacon. It's a disgrace to say that's not the case, and it's even more disgraceful to then simply not put any bacon on it. How bad can it possibly be? If you, as a restaurant, aren't really into vegan food and don't have any knowledge of it, then please just don't do it.

Delicious food, friendly welcome. Very reasonably priced! Nice glass of beer or wine. The children's menu was also more than enough for our kids.

We've never been to the restaurant before, but we've been ordering their delicious schnitzels to our home for years. The food is high quality and incredibly delicious. Even the fries are still nice and crispy when delivered. Another plus is the option to pay by card directly at your door. You just need to mention this briefly when ordering. In any case, we're completely satisfied and can highly recommend the Schnitzelschmiede.

We spontaneously went there for dinner with eight people and still got a seat. The service was friendly. The food, schnitzel, burgers, fries, and sauces were very good. The pasta, for my taste, had too much oil. The decor was typical of the Ruhr region, but it was still cozy. We had to search for a parking space, which is normal in a city.

When you order online, you don't receive an order confirmation. When paying directly online with PayPal, the payment is linked to a fashion label. Very strange and confusing.

Stay away from this place. I waited an hour for my order. Then they rudely told me I'd waited for nothing because the order was canceled. What's the point? I'm ignoring this shitty place. I'll also tell everyone about it. Addendum: Someone from the building called and apologized. They said they were new and had subsequently been fired. They offered to reorder my order and offer me a discount. However, I can't leave a good review because this behavior wasn't necessary.

We were just visiting MG and weren't sure where to go for dinner. Based on the good reviews, we decided on the Schnitzelhaus. The staff were super sweet and friendly; we felt very welcome without being intrusive. The food selection is extensive. The food was fresh and prepared with love. And what can I say... it was incredibly delicious... we even considered ordering a second portion because it was so delicious. We considered taking a second portion with us... and regretfully realized that MG is too far away to visit this restaurant regularly. It's almost envious. Thank you for the pleasant and delicious evening.

We always enjoy ordering schnitzel here. Great quality and great taste, and even the fries are always crispy. Delivery is fast, and the ordering and delivery staff are always very friendly. But that quickly becomes irrelevant once you try the food: The schnitzels are truly excellent – ​​fresh, juicy, and available in a wide variety of variations. First of all, many thanks to Nurhan and her staff. We had booked a table for 12 people for my birthday party. When we arrived, the table was decorated with lots of balloons! There was a 66 on the mirror. The food was a la carte. Many of us were visiting the Schnitzelschmiede for the first time and were thrilled with the dishes. The schnitzels were perfect, just as they should be. All orders were freshly prepared! Among them were the best sweet potato fries ever. We searched for a long time and found our favorite restaurant in the Schnitzelschmiede.

I ordered at 8 p.m. and got my food at 10:45 p.m., and something was still missing. I had already called and was told it would take another 30 minutes, but it still took over an hour.

Let's start at the beginning. The restaurant doesn't have its own parking spaces, or rather, there was a courtyard next to the building, but I didn't see any sign designating it as a restaurant parking lot. You can park on the street within a 100-meter radius, and you'll probably find a free spot. We had made a reservation in advance because we had a coupon booklet that asked for advance reservations. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, the waitress looked like she didn't have a reservation on her radar. She then gave us two tables to choose from and informed us that it was very busy today and everything would take a little longer. The restaurant itself is very small, which I personally usually find nice, but here I have to say it was very cramped, so I was sitting almost next to the person at the other table and had to move away every time someone from the neighboring table wanted to get up. The waitress took our drinks right away and brought them half an hour later (note: there were two of us). It then took another 10-15 minutes before we could order our food. The waitress then pointed out to us that she wasn't allowed to accept vouchers today, on orders from the boss, and asked if we had mentioned this when making our reservation. I then told her that we would leave and not eat anything. She wanted to contact the boss again... While the waitress was gone, I read the voucher booklet, which explicitly states that you don't have to indicate that you have a voucher booklet when making your reservation, but only when ordering, as we did. During this time, my friend noticed that some people at the next table also had voucher books, and it apparently wouldn't be a problem there. When we asked the waitress about it, she said that the other group had indicated this when making their reservation, so it was okay, but that she would accept the voucher booklet even if she would get into trouble with the boss later.... In my opinion, the waitress was trying to pull the wool over our eyes, and when she realized this wasn't going to work, she quickly backpedaled. After that, we were finally able to order. The food arrived quite quickly, about 30 minutes later, which is to say we'd already been there for about an hour and a half. The food was okay, but nothing earth-shattering. Then we wanted to pay... after we'd already been waiting for the bill for over half an hour, I went to the kitchen and, in a somewhat firmer tone, made it clear to the waitress that if I still hadn't received the bill, we would leave in five minutes without paying. After three minutes, the bill arrived, and the waitress then told me that she'd told me everything was taking a little longer today and that she also had to make phone calls, etc. Long story short, we paid and left. Conclusion: If we ever want to eat out in Mönchengladbach again, we won't go to this restaurant. Tip for the owner: If you don't seem to have any staff, refuse reservations, and if you're participating in a voucher book to attract customers, don't try to rip them off.

I'm a regular, and I highly recommend it for schnitzel fans. Tip: Start with goulash soup, paired with a small plate of schnitzel. A cucumber salad on the side. A delicious drink to go with it. Mmmmm.

Great as a delivery service – rather disappointing on site We've ordered from Schnitzelschmiede several times and were always satisfied with the food – so we wanted to try it out in person. Unfortunately, our visit was rather disappointing. In our opinion, the pricing isn't understandable on site; even with the coupon book, the price advantage is limited. The food was okay, but not convincing in relation to the price. It's a shame – we would still recommend it as a delivery service, but not for a visit to the restaurant.

We like to eat at the Schnitzelschmiede. If you choose what's on the menu, everything's great. If you get a variation—in my case, veal schnitzel topped with jalapenos—it can easily cost €30. So, it's nice to eat à la carte :-)

This was our first visit. There were five of us. The staff and service were super friendly. We immediately felt at home. The restaurant has schnitzel for every taste. You can choose between 110g or 200g, depending on how hungry you are. I had fried potatoes with it. Everything tasted great. The best part: the schnitzels are cooked in a pan. Simply delicious. We just finished dinner at Die Schnitzelschmiede Mönchengladbach. While traveling we tend to rely on Google reviews to find interesting, local places with great food. Die Schnitzelschmiede Mönchengladbach filled all three criteria, interesting, local, and great food. They also managed to include fair prices and great service as well. We had two variations of the classic schnitzel. Both were delicious as were the salads and apple pancakes. I would have loved to have tried other options on the menu, but since the portions were so generous, I didn't have that option. The owner and the waitsaff do everything the can to make you feel at home. They really care about your enjoyment of the dining experience. The only drawback is the parking situation. What I can advise is to be patient and you will eventually find a spot. Believe me, your patience will be rewarded with a wonderful meal served by kind people. If I am ever in Mönchengladbach again, I will be back.

Die Wartezeit ist angemessen, vor dem Hintergrund, dass die Gerichte frisch zubereitet werden. Das Essen ist sehr, sehr lecker und die Portionen sind nicht zu verachten!! Zum Schluss ein leckeres Schnäppsken auf‘s Haus!! Tipp Topp, eine glasklare Empfehlung!!

At the Schnitzelschmiede, I enjoyed an excellent veal schnitzel – crispy on the outside, wonderfully juicy on the inside. The sweet potato fries were the perfect accompaniment: crispy, sweet, and just the right amount of seasoning. The service was friendly, the atmosphere cozy. A definite recommendation!

A really nice and rather “bourgeois” restaurant/restaurant. Since I was in the mood for schnitzel, I thought nothing could go wrong with the name “Schnitzelschmiede”! And that was the case! Had a schnitzel “Viennese style” (there were even 2!) + croquettes, one to take away please. And I'm more than full and it really tasted so good that I will definitely come back!!! Went to the Schnitzelschmiede today. Enjoyed lumberjack veal schnitzel. Perfect with fried potatoes. It was worth a trip by bike from Giesenkirchen when it was minus 2 degrees. I'd love to come back soon.
