Not fresh and tastless food! we all have bad stomach pai n and vom itting after that. The rice was old, roti was literally burnt. Food is not fresh here. We had dal, paneer, paranthas, rice, poori.

Really bad quality food, everyone got bad stomach after that. Food poisoning case, we will report to authorities for food inspection. We had ordered panneer, dal tadka, gobi parantha, alloo poori. Be careful with these items.

Just tried it today on a friend's recommendation. I didn't like the food. I will not recommend their chola bhatura, samosa chat. Lots of quantity but no taste. I didn't find any North Indian food taste here, but I can understand they have to customise it as per the taste of locals.

Order placed online, order was never delivered, could not be reached by phone (was pushed away or hung up immediately), money has not yet been refunded. I will refund the money and strongly advise against the delivery service.

We ordered from home. The delivery came punctually. But the food were not authentic. The ruthi (bread) were too smelly. The sheekh kebab and chicken tikka was like just cooked from frozen and red coloured with some onions. To be honest we know cooking and that is why we expected least authenticity. But the restaurant thought they were delivering food for people who doesn’t know how to cook at all. Anyway it was baqwas and waste of money, waste of time. NEVER EVER AGAIN NIE WIEDER

Food is exceptionally delicious and service is wonderful. They give opportunity to deliver food online. It's a small restaurant but so quite to chat and eat.

They should get 10 stars. The service is beyond amazing. The owner is very kind. Food is authentic North Indian - Chai, Starters, main course & desserts. Atmosphere is very soothing, just right for lunch & dinner. You should visit them if you like Indian food.

We tried here twice .. one day for lunch and one day for dinner... If you like Indian food you can try here. Washroom/WC is available on request only.

Leute, wir hatten einen Gutschein von Groupon und waren im Restaurant essen und so einen schlechten Service haben wir noch nie erlebt. Das Essen war nicht besonders aber es hat geschmeckt deshalb 2 Sterne, die Vorspeisen waren klein und das ganze Essen war überhaupt nicht ansprechend angerichtet. Das Restaurant ist auch kein Restaurant sondern wenn überhaupt ein Imbiss und scheint von Lieferando und anderen Lieferdiensten zu leben und es kommen die ganze Zeit irgendwelche Lieferfahrer rein um Lieferungen abzuholen und deshalb haben die Angestellten dort überhaupt keine Zeit für Gäste die sich dorthin verirrt haben. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste und haben über eine Stunde auf die Hauptspeise gewartet die uns auf irgendwelchen ausrangierten Tellern serviert wurden. Der Reis wurde nicht mitgebracht und wir mussten nochmals nachfragen da die Hauptspeisen nicht ohne Reis gegessen werden können, dann brachte man den Reis für 3 Personen ebenfalls auf einen ausrangierten Teller. Wir würden niemals wieder dort hin kommen. Das Preisleistungsverhältniss stimmt auch nicht obwohl in dieser Atmosphäre würde es nie stimmen. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert!!!

If someone want to eat real indian food specifically North Indian then I found this place best in Essen or in NRW.

Have ordered an chicken biryani from this restaurant. It was a disaster, no taste, no salt, no mirchi nothing even after asked for more spice. It was the worst biryani ever made. Also the service at the restaurant is not up to the mark.I would strongly not recommend this restaurant.

Sehr leckeres indisches Essen. Super Klasse indische Küche, so habe ich mir klassischen indisches Essen vorgestellt.

Ich glaube, wenn wir keinen Gutschein gehabt hätten, hätten wir das Restaurant nicht besucht. Aber man darf sich von den Äusserlichkeiten nicht täuschen lassen. Das Essen war superlecker und das Personal sehr freundlich. Wir waren bestimmt nicht zum letzten Mal dort.

Das beste indische Essen! Es schmeckt köstlich! Der Koch erfüllt jeden Wunsch und ist sehr freundlich. Wir kommen wieder 🤗

Authentisches und sehr leckeres indisches Essen. Leider wurde unser Nachtisch vergessen,als wir in der Nähe des Lokals waren, hat und der nette Besitzer einen 2. Nachtisch gratis mitgegeben !

Bei einem Gericht fehlten die Mandeln und Cashews, es gab nur zwei Rosinen, der Rahmkäse zerfiel von selbst. Dabei sollte das Gericht nur aus diesen vier Hauptzutaten bestehen, wovon drei letztlich fehlten. Das Naan war leider hart wie nach dem zweiten Aufwärmen. Die Höhe war aber der Vorspeisenteller FÜR ZWEI mit dem Preis eines Hauptgerichts: Sah aus wie ein Resteteller und bei der Hälfte der Sachen gab es nur ein Stück statt zwei, dafür dann fünf Zwiebelringe... Vor allem bei dem Preis leider sehr enttäuschend!

- Chicken Curry: nichts Besonderes, hätte ich als Laie besser zubereiten können - Gobhi Paratha (Blumenkohlbrot): ich war total gespannt, wie das wohl aussieht - war aber nur die billige Teigtasche mit ein paar Stippen Blumenkohl darin - Mix Raita (Joghurt mit Gemüse): das ist keine echte Mahlzeit, sondern eher ein Dip für das trockene Blumenkohlbrot. Zaziki hätte aber gereicht - Alu Papri Chat (Teig mit Gemüse und Joghurt): knüppelhart und man schmeckt nur Zwiebeln Leider über 30 € aus dem Fenster geworfen. Und ihr schuldet uns noch 2x Minz-Soße...

Sehr leckeres Essen in 3 Gängen, die frei aus der Karte gewählt werden konnten.

Essen war ok allerdings ist die Location kein Restaurant sondern eher Imbiss. Hatten wir nicht mit gerechnet. Hieß auch nicht DHaba@49 sondern Bollywood Imbiss oder so ähnlich, wir wussten erst nicht ob wir richtig sind.

The main dishes are good but if you compare the Naan given by them to Indisches Naan then they have to improve there..If you can set up a Tandoor or improve the quality of your Naan for take aways ,please do because it is hard to eat when cold. Rest in Tandoori mix platter please add a little bit more gravy..Butter chicken is good. Rest all good.Have always ordered for take aways.

I really enjoyed their lamb biriyani! It included bits of spice seeds in the rice, which I love, and a nice serving of tender lamb. I haven’t found a place that seriously seasons their food well in Europe until I got food from Akki’s. It has helped me overcome some homesickness, as I miss having authentic ethnic foods in America. I will be ordering frequently from Akki’s whenever I’m in town! Compared to the level of seasoning I’m used to, Akki’s biriyani is slightly below the average amount of seasoning I’m used to from Indian households, but it has the highest amount compared to other places I’ve eaten at in Europe. I also ordered their Non-Veggie Thali, but I think I wouldn’t notice the difference between their Veggie and Non-Veggie Thali. It is tasty and I had some fresh roti come with it, which I wasn’t expecting - bonus! :) My order came with a free piece of sweet dessert (gulab jamun I think) and side of delicious pickled peppers (I don’t know what these peppers are called, but they are very tasty and I’d buy more if I knew what they’re called!). I can’t stop thinking about their peppers... Very generous restaurant with tasty food. Can’t wait to come back!

Super leckeres Essen. Feuerwerk im Mund, so vielseitig sind die Gewürze eingesetzt. Schmeckt wie Urlaub. Am Salat könnte man arbeiten, aber alles andere einfach perfekt. Gute Garpunkte und wir freuen uns weitere Gerichte testen. Ihr seht auf den Fotos Thali non und mix vegetable platter. Gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Frische Zutaten und kein Geschmacksverstärker. Freundlich von der Bestellung bis zur Tür.

Biriyani war langweilig und geschmacklos

Klein aber fein und gute Qualität des Essens.

wenn uns die lust auf indisch packt dann geht es oft zum bollywood express. da der laden quasi um die ecke liegt sind wir gern dort. heute haben wir das erste mal bestellt und waren, wie im laden auch, sehr begeistert. exakt 24min dauerte die lieferung, das essen war dampfend heiß und geschmacklich wie gewohnt super. die portionen sind auch ansprechend. auf dem foto sieht man vorn das non veggie thali mit huhn, rahmkäse ect das hintere gericht ist veggie thali mit linsen und spinat. dabei war noch frisches naan, indian pickles, ein leckerer joghurtdipp, ein kleiner salat und als dessert milchbällchen. der reis war sehr gut und nicht klebrig. kann ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen, beide daumen hoch👍🏻

First North Indian Restaurant, I visited in Germany. Everything we had was yummy. We had tandoori chicken, chicken Tikka , chicken biriyani, aloo paratha and some other chicken dish too. Update: They aren’t consistent, on our 2nd visit, food was pretty average!

Überraschend gut! Ich hatte spontan Lust auf indisches Essen und war von den bestellten Gerichten begeistert. Insb. das Dal Palak hat mich durch seinen Geschmack begeistert. Es ist sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmt und liefert dank angenehmer Schärfe die richtige Wärme für den Winter. Auch das Palak Paneer schmeckte so, wie ich es aus Indien kenne. Fazit: "komischer Name - überraschend sehr gutes indisches Essen".

Hier kann man sehr, sehr lecker indisch essen, die Leute sind ausgesprochen freundlich und es geht schnell! Klare Empfehlung!

Das Personal ist immer sehr befleißigt und stets zuvorkommend! Die Auswahl der Getränke fanden meine Schwester und ich großartig! Dekos auf den Plätzen und im gesamten Lokal ist angemessen und ästhetisch. Die Toiletten sind konstant rein und allem in allem vermittelt das Lokal einen harmonischen Eindruck. Ich war schon lange nicht mehr so fasziniert von einem Restaurant.

Sehr authentische und frische indische Küche zu absolut fairen Preisen, das angebotene Streetfood habe ich so in noch keinem indischen Restaurant gesehen und schmeckt wirklich gut. Wegen der Pizza muss man allerdings nicht unbedingt hingehen, die ist etwas eigenwillig. Ein Geheimtipp, der sicher nicht mehr lange geheim bleiben wird!

ICH gebe 0 STERNE für diese drecksladen 1.Es fliegen spinen am fenster 2. es wurde gesagt das die mittagspause bis 16.30UHR ist und der Pizza offen aus ist und bis 17.30UHR WARM werden muss um 17.30.wurde dann der offen an gemacht und meine pizza war um 18:10UHR fertig 3. so unfreundlich ich wurde fast vom laden raus geschmissen weil der offen warm werden musste und ich draussen warten soll 4 in der Pizza war ein Spinnennetz die Pizza wurde entsorgt ( pizzablech) was 25€ gekostet hat beim 1biss habe ich schon papier gespührt das kann es nicht geben das ordnungsamt sollte das geschäft still legen

Ich war schon öfter hier und habe auch schon mehrmals bestellt. Die Auswahl ist klasse und der Koch erfüllt auch gern Sonderwünsche. So z. B. kann man auch bei den Speisen, die klassischerweise mit Huhn, Lamm oder Scampi angeboten werden, diese mit Paneer, also mit indischem Käse bekommen. Das weitet das Angebot für Vegetarier enorm aus. Von der Qualität her bin ich noch nie enttäuscht worden. Es war alles immer richtig lecker und frisch. So geht gutes indisches Essen. Ach so, die Pizzen sind auch klasse, meinten meine Mitesser. Ich bin begeistert davon, dass ich indisch essen kann, wenn alles um mich herum Pizza will. :)

Die Rechnung für 2 Gerichte und Linsenbrot mit Pickles als Vorspeise war mit 27,50 das Einzige, das saftig war. Phantasielos und lieblos gekochtes Essen aus dem Tandoori. Verwechslungen bei der Schärfe beider Gerichte. Noch nicht einmal der Hunger trieb es rein.Wenigstens der Lieferant war freundlich.

Very happy to see Bollywood Express reopen at a better location with similar idea and same ambition to taste and quality. I have visited this fast food restaurant on the opening day. Very - I will be there more often. I love this area as it is where I spend my childhood. Wish Bollywood Express a bright future.

I found a tiny piece of glass WHILE chewing the food and when I showed it to the owner who was also helping the chef in cooking, his reaction was as if i faked it. He didn't apologize or didn't even feel bad that it could have hurt me. I was lucky enough not to swallow the piece of glass. This happened on the first day of their opening the restaurant. I know my case might not happen to everyone who goes to eat there. Just letting you know so that you will think before going to Bollywood Express and would wanna gamble with your luck on their cleanliness and hygiene. Good luck!

This is the best Indian food I have tried for a long time. Due to the open kitchen I could see what they were doing. Different from other Indian restaurants with buffet, they cool the prepared food and heat it up in a pan, when ordered. This way the food tastes fresh. Love the interior which is made with an idea. Everything fits and is inviting.

Wow, die Dosa ist einfach einmalig und beim nächsten Mal muß ich die Kathi Roll auch probieren. Kenne diese von meinen Aufenthalten in Indien. Ich kann keine großen Unterschiede erkennen und bin happy, dass ab sofort ich mein Fernweh hier etwas stillen kann. Vielen Dank für den Service und viel Erfolg.

Restaurant ist ganz neu, ist etwas versteckt unten in der U-Bahn Passage unter dem Willy-Brandt-Platz. Tolles Mittagessen, ich komme wieder! Vor allem auch um mal Kati Roll zu probieren.
