Desche Otto in Frankfurt am Main

I heard that Frankfurt's famous handkäse was delicious, so I visited there. The marinated cheese had a chewy texture and I ate it on bread. It was delicious. For main, I ordered schnitzel. The batter had paprika powder in it, so it was delicious just as it was, and the green sauce was refreshing and made the meal go well.

Friendly, authentically rustic, very tasty! When we spontaneously stopped by recently, we were warmly welcomed, were able to enjoy the most delicious Frankfurt food and even though we unfortunately didn't have any cash with us, the friendly team trustingly helped us find a solution. 1000 thanks again! Gladly again.

Rustic and authentic. The best apple - and in several varieties. Schlotziger hand cheese, brilliant ribs, sauerkraut and bread with a lot of flavor depth. Classics of the best quality and creative, delicious ideas. Super attentive and friendly service. What more could you want?!

Classic Frankfurt Äppelwoi pub with good cuisine. It's better not to order sweets here 😉, but you can get food and other drinks here at a reasonable price-performance ratio. In addition, various events (e.g. musical ones) are offered throughout the year. Greetings to de Wert.

Everything about this place made us smile. From the menu, to the staff, to the food. It is one of those places that make a holiday, for us anyway. Couldn't have been friendlier despite our terrible attempts at German. Luckily, they also speak English. Worth the effort to find it. HIGHLY recommend

Getting diarrhea from eating. Never again with that! Better in the neighboring Frankfurter Hof.

One of the last truly authentic apple wine bars in Frankfurt with a lot of atmosphere. There are always several ciders from good wineries on offer and not to forget the unique Guinness on tap. The corresponding dishes go with it: the delicious Handkäs with music and the semolina sauce are particularly noteworthy.

Something so authentic! This is real, old Frankfurt. No modern fancy. Great Hessian food (ribs, fried potatoes, black pudding,...). Also very fair prices. Not for everyone. Not for every day. But for me again and again!!!

Except from my perspective as a trained hotel specialist and restaurateur. It's the last restaurant I'll visit in Schwanheim! 1. The "HOST" would rather sit in his comfortable chair and drink one after another than take care of his guests! 2. The food, well, home-style, but considering the price, the service provided is rather below average. Wanted but not achieved. Highly advertised on the menu, but the plate says something different. 3. Guest satisfaction is not a measure of things! You're just a money maker. 4. The ambience speaks for itself and is brilliant. You don't want to miss it and it invites you to linger. 5. The service deserves a school grade of "6", unfortunately you can't rate it lower. If you don't respond to the "waiters" in a progressive manner, the glass will remain empty and they would rather take a break. 6. With the changing staff, it is clear to me that no employee will stay there for long. Eating there is a good experience in terms of the ambience. Anyone expecting good service is in the wrong place. I already have other locations that I choose in the area! btw If you choose the "2G rule" as a restaurant even though there is no legal basis, then you should also check "ALL" guests! My companion was not checked!

This visit to the restaurant gave me back my faith in gastronomy. Super authentic and yet very special. I think I've noticed that people here want to offer something for their guests with their brains and heart, and I just think that's great. Anyone who likes mashed potatoes will love this place - I mean, where is that a category on a menu?!? Meeega!

Restaurant in beautiful old “Frankfurt style”. Small but very balanced menu. Decent portions. Nice outside area. Difficult parking situation.

Beautiful, rustic restaurant with a great, inviting beer garden. The food has always been very good and plentiful, the employees are very friendly and accommodating and the boss is unique. We can recommend the restaurant to everyone and will continue to be guests again and again.

Went there again a few days ago, hoping something might have changed. The service was very nice, but that's where the praise ends. Unfortunately nothing has changed. If you read the reviews or the answers to them, then I think you can see what the problem is.

The dishes are very good for a "gastro pub", unfortunately almost everything we wanted to order wasn't there. Attention NO card payment, I understand the background, I also read the newspaper article, but in 2024 EC Cash Maestro should at least be offered. Who carries a lot of cash around these days? You should move with the times. The preparation of the dishes really takes a long time, even if you only ordered two things, but the quality is still OK, but you should keep in mind that the service was nice. Ambience mmmmh actually quaint, but somehow for me it's more of an old pub than a Frankfurt restaurant. The main criticism is the owner, who is really very down-to-earth, complains very loudly about customers, after reading a few reviews I was really frightened, and that only confirms my opinion. Unfortunately very unprofessional and this way of communicating doesn't help anyone, it's simply unnecessary and unfortunately it created a bad atmosphere for us. And don't worry, like so many others, we'll stay away, no problem.

I recommend taking a look at pathologie-conference.de at the same time or taking in “Pandemic in raw data”, ideally together with your seemingly numerous remaining vaccinated guests. However, it could be that they also run out of food. SHAME YOURSELF!!!

A wonderful pub with excellent food and the best Guinness in Germany! The whiskey collection is fantastic and the people are friendly and English is spoken well here. A good attraction for me is that there is no “flute music”, but occasionally live music with local musicians and artists. I highly recommend this place to visit!

Small cider pub with a rustic atmosphere - table reservation required (?). A small menu with regional dishes that are very tasty. The prices are acceptable and the service is perfect for me. On weekends there is often live music with a great atmosphere. I'll definitely come back - just to enjoy the beer garden.

Ich hatte hier vor ein paar Monaten mal ein Schnitzel gegessen. Und das war wirklich sehr sehr lecker. Ist so ein richtiges uriges Restaurant.! Auch Die Bedienung war sehr lustig. Ein Kollege von mir wollte Bier mit Cola mischen das haben sie ihm verboten😅😅😅😅

Ich fand es garnicht so gut. Aber die Geschmäcker sind ja verschieden. Soll jeder selbst probieren. Für mich ist es nichts.

Essen war insgesamt sehr lecker, allerdings haben wir ohne davor in die Karte zu sehen bestellt und erst danach gemerkt das pro Frankfurter Schnitzel 21,50 abgerechnet werden - siehe Beleg im Anhang. Bei allem Verständnis für teurere Einkaufspreise, ist das leider nicht mehr angemessen.

Immer wieder schön hier, ein Stern Abzug für die Toiletten, da kann man nachbessern.

Hier gibt es etwas für jeden, inklusive das beste Guinness in der Stadt und eine schöne Whiskykarte. Die Küche hat immer was zu bieten und, wenn man Glück hat, vielleicht etwas Musik! Es gibt auch regelmäßige Veranstaltungen.

Essen top, der Besitzer ein Original mit Ecken und Kanten und dem Herzen offensichtlich auf der Zunge, die Lokalität für meine Leute und mich eine feste Institution.

Urige Frankfurter Stube. Simples Essen, tolle Schnapsauswahl.

Angenehmes Schwanheim’er Lokal, mit solidem Ambiente. Hier kann man gut und günstig essen. Zum gelegentlichen Einkehren sehr zu empfehlen. Von mir gibt es daher gute 4 Sterne. Nachtrag: Der Wirt hat meine Empfehlung mit Unverständnis kommentiert. Mit 4 Sternen ist dieses Gasthaus offensichtlich nicht zufrieden, das bedauere ich sehr. Wenn sich der Wirt selbst 5 Sterne gibt, ist das durchaus legitim und auch für mich akzeptabel. Wünsche weiterhin viel Erfolg.

Sehr schönes Traditions-Lokal mit liebenswerten Gastgebern, einem unschlagbar guten Apfelwein und einem gemütlichen Ambiente.

Die Gaststätte ist urig, gemütlich, nach Frankfurter Art, zum Wohlfühlen. Die Wirtsleute und die Bedienung sind gute Gastgeber. Besonders die Veranstaltungen sind sehr zu empfehlen.

Eine schöne, charmante Gaststätte mit hessischem Ambiente. Das Essen ist lecker, die Bedienung schnell da und sehr freundlich. Die beiden Räume sorgen von ihrer Bauart her für viel Hall, sodass es schnell mal etwas lauter wird. Das darf man aber bei einer Gaststätte auch erwarten und ist von daher Teil des Erlebnissen. Der Eingang befindet sich nicht an der Hauptstraße, sondern hinten ums Eck. Gelegentlich sind einige Gerichte aus, sodass man sich eventuell dem Tagesmenü anpassen muss. Dafür aber gibt es auch spezielle Tagesgerichte, die gerne mal auf Muschel- oder Fischbasis sind.

Sehr urig, interessante Speisekarte.....5 Sterne beim Essen kann ich nur für absolutes Spitzenessen vergeben, das mit nichts zu toppen ist. Dies trifft hier nicht zu, aber es es war sehr sehr gut und das Ambiente war sehr ansprechend....
