Our server was truly awful. A man with a midlife crisis who acted like he owned the place. We had a reservation for 13 people, but when a stroller unexpectedly arrived, the waiter couldn't stand it. He told us we'd have to find a spot for it ourselves because a reservation is a reservation. He also took our order in a very annoyed and unfriendly manner. The food was really good, but with service like that, I'm reluctant to come back. And I really enjoy eating Greek food in various cities all over Germany. See for yourselves and form your own opinion.

Delicious food and friendly service. We went there for lunch during the week. After ordering, it didn't take long for everything to arrive.

Very unfriendly and rude, malicious staff. The food was cold, and instead of an apology, they made malicious accusations. Not recommended. Someone is clearly misrepresenting the situation. But of course, they want to protect their reputation. So arrogant... Luckily, I'm not alone in my opinion; bad service is bad!

We had a great meal – from the starter salad to the soup and the incredibly delicious garlic baguette to the pork schnitzel topped with cheese, we were all completely satisfied. The gratinated pancakes are also highly recommended. We definitely wouldn't order the schnitzel again, but who eats schnitzel at a Greek restaurant?!? Those ignorant children. 🙈😅

Despite having a reservation, we got the worst table in the restaurant. It was in the alleyway, near the entrance. It was drafty every time the door opened. The quality of the food was mediocre. The decor was old and worn. You couldn't really call it cozy. There are better Greek restaurants nearby. Absolutely not recommended. 👎

I recently visited Der Grieche am Rosengarten in Turgau and had a very pleasant dining experience. From the moment I arrived, the restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately made me feel comfortable. For the starter, I chose a simple plate of olives and peppers. Although it was a small dish, the flavors were fresh and authentic, giving me a nice first impression of the kitchen. The quality of the ingredients was clear, and it set the tone for the rest of the evening. For the main course, I ordered the Delphi plate, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The portion was generous, and the combination of different flavors worked perfectly together. Everything was well seasoned, cooked to the right point, and nicely presented. It truly reflected the richness of Greek cuisine and was both satisfying and delicious. To accompany the meal, I tried the house wine. While it was fine and drinkable, it did not stand out compared to the food. It complemented the dishes but was not memorable in itself. Still, it served its purpose as a light companion to the dinner. The service throughout the evening was very good. The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive without being intrusive. They were quick to bring the dishes and also checked in from time to time to make sure everything was fine. I would rate the service four out of five stars, as it left me with a very positive impression. Overall, my visit to Der Grieche am Rosengarten was a success. The food was delicious, the atmosphere inviting, and the service attentive. It is a place I can definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys good Greek cuisine in a relaxed setting. I left with the feeling of having had a very good evening, and I would be happy to return on another occasion.

Good, inexpensive Greek restaurant with a nice outdoor seating area

I went there for the first time last night and was very satisfied. There were 12 of us, and even though it was busy, the drinks, starters, and main courses all came relatively quickly. I didn't feel like it took long, and the staff were very friendly. The prices are absolutely nothing to complain about, as I'm used to different prices in the West. Completely satisfied and highly recommended; I'd gladly go back!

Very unfriendly staff and the most boring and unloving appetizer plate I've ever had; they didn't even serve bread with it. My husband wasn't happy with his meal either; he only had a tiny portion of rice and mediocre fries with a modest portion of meat. The beer garden is a nice place to sit, and it's not far from the Kulturbastion. We wouldn't go there again.

For us, this is the best Greek restaurant in Torgau. Unfortunately, the service has been a bit lackluster lately. If you want to get a drink or pay, you sometimes have to wait a very long time.

The food and ambiance are as good as ever; the menu and decor haven't changed much in the last 20 years. A plus point is that the prices, unlike other Greek restaurants in Torgau, are still reasonable for today's times. A big minus point is that no one checks to see if you want something to drink. You often wait forever, searching for a waiter, and then have to call them over. The staff is rather listless and indifferent. It's a real shame.

Nice outdoor seating. The menu is standard, as expected in most Greek restaurants. Nothing special, but you know what you're getting. The location is quite good if you want to take a walk. Service is quick, but not particularly communicative.

Prices are still quite reasonable. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are generous. If it's busy, be prepared to wait.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as it used to be. Drinks after dinner were only served upon request (a long wait). One server was very reserved, to put it mildly. We won't be returning.

Food was really good. But there were two problems. 1. We wait for the third round of drinks almost 20 minutes. These were only available upon request 2. A round of uzo was distributed. At the end the question was asked who paid for it. We just found that cheeky. Supposedly it was asked. But no one asked, something like that is simply not appropriate.

Food and ambience really great. But the waitresses and waiters somehow had a bad day. They weren't rude, but we didn't really feel welcome either. It could be that it was because of our bike gear.

When the waitress tells me to go to McDonald's because I ask how long I have to wait for my food (1.5 hours). While we were sitting there were other people who came after us and received their food before us.

Delicious food and nice staff...? Both can be found here. I have never left there disappointed or dissatisfied.

We were there yesterday. The ambience inside surprised me, but it was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. There were several large tables full. The staff was therefore overloaded. 20 minutes to the Speose card. 45 minutes to the starter, which was at least warm. But the waiting time for cold main courses is unbearable. Otherwise it would have been even tastier. The basic taste was great. Unfortunately no one comes to ask for drinks again. We were only able to request a bill after we went ahead ourselves and the full restaurant was almost empty. Plus it was incredibly drafty downstairs and we were cold the whole time. Hot drinks would have been great if I could have spoken to a waiter. Too bad. Probably not again.

We had a 23 person table and it was too tight. This constellation is unsustainable. The premises are very nice and clean. The lower floor feels very cold. As an appetizer there was a plate of shrimp. Unfortunately, the dressing outweighs the actual taste. Some guests' lamb was oversalted. There is a big plus point when ordering. The waiter knows the menu by heart. If you tell him a number, he tells you the full name of the dish. Only one order was wrong. Language barrier.

Were there for dinner. Didn't reserve. We got a table for 2 people. Food was tasty and service was good. Gladly again.

Food was tasty. First of all, the most important thing. My glass of beer was almost gone when the salad came. Empty when the food came. I had to take action and more or less follow through to get a new one. There is no view of the guest. Had the 47? Corfu plate. The liver, approx. 4x4cm. I haven't seen anything like that until now. Rest was ok, all in all, I would like to put it this way, normally I have to fight to eat everything. It was easy here. At the end there was a glass with something red. n/a what that was... some kind of juice mixture? I've never experienced anything like that before. The room is well and nicely furnished, I like wood, I missed the music. Quietly in the background. I think that’s part of it. Conclusion, I wouldn't go there again if I ever visit Torgau again. It's better to try something different.

Pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere and very good service. The menu is very varied, if you don't find anything here you have to go to an Asian or Italian restaurant and the prices for the food are moderate compared to big city standards. The dishes themselves are of a good standard, pork fillet was also fillet of very good quality... I can definitely recommend this Greek restaurant.

We were there on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was not very busy. Impossible service, after 50 minutes we still didn't have any drinks. Left the restaurant without eating or drinking.

After waiting for 1 hour, the drinks we ordered were still not brought to the table. Waiters don't have an eye for the guest and prefer to follow janitorial activities or perfect the stack of food cards. Not recommended.

No attention to the guest, dull processing, like on an assembly line. No friendliness from the staff, food below average, nothing of quality to be expected. Waiter quickly overwhelmed. If you want a good Greek meal in Torgau, the terrace café is the best choice. They are still interested in the well-being of the guest.

We spent the evening of my sister's bachelorette party here. The service was super friendly and we also responded to our decoration requests. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was well designed. You can have fun here without being looked at askance. Gladly again!

Bad, bad, bad. The food was very disappointing. Lamb fillet with Metaxa sauce 102. The "fillet" was bland and tasteless. Anyone who knows anything about meat will immediately know that this is not a fillet! The Metaxa sauce was floury and without spice. Food wise, very disappointing. Service and beer garden were fine

After many enthusiastic recommendations from the area, we decided to have a Sunday dinner with the family. The restaurant was fairly full, but the food still came quickly, but we had to wait quite a long time for the bill. However, the food itself was a complete disappointment. Unfortunately. There was no starter at all. The second starter was hardly seasoned, not even a hint of the promised garlic sauce. The salad was carelessly cut into 10 cm long strips, the dressing was probably from a bottle. The meat was fried to death, the fish plate only consisted of fried ingredients that weren't even properly salted. Sause again from mass production. Sorry, but you can get a meal like this at a North Sea stall for maybe half the price. We are by no means gourmets, nor are we spoiled or prejudiced, but we cannot understand all the positive reviews regarding the quality of the food.

Already at the entrance you could feel the overwhelmed staff, the food was great, but the gentleman who served us was in such a bad mood that we didn't dare order anything again with six people. My little son couldn't manage his portion, so we wanted to take it with us. But it wasn't brought, after I asked for it at the exit, I was asked in such an unfriendly manner who I was. After I explained who and what I was left standing there in an unfriendly manner until another colleague gave me our food and apologized for how I was treated. We won't eat there anymore. Greeks are actually a nice people. Thank God Torgau has more of them.

Very tasty, original Greek food in a wonderful, Mediterranean atmosphere. All of this with a good price-performance ratio. Friendly service, but unfortunately very inattentive when it comes to refilling drinks; refills are often only possible with considerable initiative. That's why "only" 4 stars, although everything else would be worth 6 stars.

We ate there during Sivester - both the food and the service were great! Food: delicious. Service: warm and always friendly and helpful - despite the busy restaurant. Happy to come back!

Essen war ok, die Kellner kommen selten an Tisch, Getränke ware ständig leer, nach mehrmaliger Aufforderung haben wir dann endlich die Rechnung bekommen ...

Das Essen schmeckt gut, nur der Service lässt teilweise zu wünschen übrig. Wenn man kein Stammkunde ist, dann muss man sich neue Getränke fast erbetteln.

Die Gerichte sind mittelmäßig, nicht sonderlich gut gewürzt, dem Salat würden frische Kräuter gut tun. Das männliche Personal ist etwas miesepetrig. Das Ambiente ist gut. Insgesamt: Man kann schon mal hingehen. Die anderen Griechen in Torgau, Santorini und Kreta, sind da besser.

Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Nach einem Besuch im Schloss Hartenfels, kann man sich hier exzellent stärken.

An einem Feiertag. Restaurant innen voll, Biergarten draußen voll. Viel zu wenig Servicekräfte. Hauptsache, man hat viele viele Tische und Stühle...... diese sind besetzt und man kann Geld verdienen!

Von uns gibt es volle Sterne! Waren schon mehrmals dort und es war immer wieder toll. Das Essen schmeckt super, der Service ist super und das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich. Preis/Leistung ist toll und alle dort sehr sehr freundlich. Immer wieder gerne und nur zu empfehlen!

Gestern und bei unserem Besuch vor 4 Jahren sensationell! Haben beide Mal hervorragend gegessen, wurden überaus freundlich bedient und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist spitze!

Das Restaurant hat einen wunderschönen Biergarten und auch der Innenbereich, aber das Personal ist manchmal etwas überfordert und unfreundlich.

Wir waren mit drei Familien inklusive drei kleiner Kinder zu Besuch. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Kellner alberten mit den Kindern und gingen auf Sonderwünsche ein. Das Essen war allgemein sehr gut. Auch das Ambiente erinnerte an einen kleinen Griechenlandtrip. Im Großen und Ganzen also sehr empfehlenswert.
