Leider kann ich über das Restaurant an sich nichts schreiben. Jedochbist es ehrlich ärgerlich, wenn man über Internet ein Lokal sucht, dieses Lokal gezeigt bekommt und dann umsonst dort hingeht. Ein Lokal am äußeren Rande des Ortes sollte angeben, wenn es in der Urlaubszeit geschlossen hat, damit Gäste nicht zu Fuß soweit gehen - für nix!

Ich war auf Geschäftsreise und daher zum 1. Mal hier. Grundsätzlich war ich zufrieden, die Bedienung ist freundlich und aufmerksam, und die Preise absolut moderat. Ich hatte die 71 (Dorfplatte), und habe mit einem Ouzo vorm Essen (aufs Haus) und einem großen Fassbier gut 21 EUR bezahlt. Das geht absolut in Ordnung. Der Vorspeisensalat gehörte dazu, war OK, der Grillteller war ebenfalls OK. Nicht mehr aber auch nicht weniger. Der Djuwetschreis war matschig und hätte mehr Würze vertragen können, das Tzatziki war super, das Gyros war sehr klein gehackt und recht fettig, die beiden Grillspieße waren schmackhaft und die Portion auf jeden Fall groß genug, aber alles in allem hat mir irgendwie der "Pep" gefehlt, den ich sonst beim griechischen Essen habe, ohne dass ich es genau beziffern kann! Falls ich mal wieder in der Gegend bin, kann ich mir so oder so vorstellen, hier nochmal zu essen, zumal es preiswert ist.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier. Preis Leistung war sehr gut. Service nett und unaufdringlich. Portionen reichlich. Es ist sehr schön, dass es auch draußen Sitzplätze gibt. Jetzt am Wochenende kommt der Sommer. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ambiente sehr dunkel und sehr alt. Service unterirdisch und sehr unfreundlich, fast schon beängstigend. Essen hat mit einer griechischen Taverne sehr wenig zu tun. Vorspeise landete leider komplett in der Fritteuse. Eine never come back Location!

Obwohl wir erst nach Küchenschluss gekommen sind haben wir noch aus der Karte auswählen können und Essen mit hervorragender Qualität bekommen, selbst als ich noch eine Beilage nach der getätigten Bestellung angefragt habe, wurde mir diese ohne irgendein Gegenwort gebracht. Wir waren schon länger nicht mehr da, wurden aber freundlich und höflich empfangen und bedient. Vielen Dank hierfür und wir werden beim nächsten Bad birnbach Besuch auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

Verstehe die schlechten Rezensionen nicht! Waren deswegen etwas skeptisch! Aber das Essen war soooo lecker, frisch und das Fleisch richtig Zart. Habe lange nicht so ein zartes Lammkotelett gegessen. Vorspeise sehr lecker und sehr viel! Waren richtig überrascht! Auch wenn das Ambiente etwas älter ist. Der Koch Inhaber sehr freundlich und die Kellnerin, obwohl wir nach 20:30 Uhr kamen und die Küche schon zu hatte wurden wir bedient! Kommen bestimmt wieder wenn wir nochmal nach Bad Birnbach kommen!

Zwei oder drei junge Männer im Service, die in dem „Laden“ auf zack sind, wenn „Mama“ in der Küche auf die Glocke drückt! Toll! Das Foto zeigt eine „Kombination“ aus Garnelen-Saganaki, warmen Peperoni mit Knoblauchsauce aus dem Ofen & Riesenbohnen mit Schafskäse überbacken. Sensation!

Wir waren das erste Mal dort. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Portionen mehr als ausreichend. Die Jungs im Service waren auf Zack und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente des 80er Jahre Charms ist ausbaufähig. Die Toiletten waren zwar sauber, aber trotzdem in die Jahre gekommen.

He reads the four stars off a Liebherr freezer and claims they're his. Since when are restaurants that exclusively heat up frozen food rated with stars? That pretty much says it all.

Unfortunately, Der Grieche in Bad Birnbach didn't impress me. We ordered there once, but I personally didn't like the food. I can't comment on the ambiance, as I didn't see it. The service wasn't particularly friendly either—the employees seemed rather annoyed.

The food was average. Large portions, small price. Even if I'm being attacked, the owner should raise his prices, otherwise he won't survive. The restaurant is a bit plain, and the acoustics are loud. It's a bit like a train station restaurant. Would I go back to the restaurant? Yes, if someone invites me.

The fries only had a passing salt touch, the gyro was so-so, the salad and its contents were yesterday's, and the tzatziki was somewhat passable. We certainly won't be eating there again.

I don't understand the negative reviews. The food was great, everything was brought to the table at the same time, and everyone was very friendly. Perhaps they should be less snotty and take their frustrations out somewhere else. Perhaps some of the guests were a bit tiresome before 😉 I can definitely recommend this restaurant without reservation!

We've been picking up food here often for the past five years. The food is delicious and the portions are generous.

I've been there twice already. The food selection and taste are excellent, the portion sizes are generous, so much so that two people could easily eat the appetizer plate. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to eat it alone. The outdoor seating is in the hotel's backyard, so to speak, but it's shady, cool, and quiet! There's hardly any noise. The service wasn't great on both visits, as the communication style often sounds rather "gruff," and it doesn't please the owner if you don't finish your meal. That's likely to happen more often with the large portions. Takeout isn't really an option in this case, because where would I put the tzatziki in my hotel room? What a shame, so much wasted food. Since it's the only foreign restaurant located directly on the street with hotels and has a wide selection of dishes that you can't find everywhere else, I'll still go back!

My husband and I love Greek food. Unfortunately, we couldn't go today. We walked from our hotel because it was a beautiful evening. We walked for 30 minutes only to find out later that it was closed until July 23rd. It might have been nice to have stated this on the website. This way, we walked there for nothing.

We were there two days ago, and I actually don't want to give it a star. The restaurant is down in a basement, and as I walked in, I was hit by a musty smell. The atmosphere is like a dive bar; you can see the basement shaft full of weeds, everything dark and poorly decorated. Our food was inedible. The tzatziki wasn't fresh, it was already starting to crumble. The pita had a crust on it, had also been carelessly placed on the plate, soaked with old grease that smelled of fish. The gyro was partly black. We left the food, and the elderly waiter couldn't understand it at all. He then spoke something in Greek, which I found very rude. No apology, no discount; we paid the full price. We won't recommend the restaurant. By the way, I had a stomachache and diarrhea the next day.

I was at this restaurant today. As usual, I wanted to order something to eat, but the waiter came over. He was a fat man. He started yelling at me for no reason and threw me out. That was completely unacceptable. It was very embarrassing for all those people. Then a woman took a picture of the food, and he yelled at the woman, telling her to delete the photo immediately. The waiter and the service were very unfriendly, and therefore a no-go.

Eigentlich sind es NULL PUNKTE! Denn: Serviceorientierung und Freundlichkeit geht anders!!! Wenn man natürlich nur auf das Geld aus ist und angenervt ist, weil der Laden nicht brummt, ist das natürlich etwas anderes..... Als wir gegen 20.15h in das Lokal kamen, wurden wir sofort vom Jr.-Chef oder was immer das auch war abgefangen und rüde aufgefordert, sofort zu bestellen weil die Küche in 10 Minuten schließt. Wäre eigentlich schon der Grund gewesen, den Laden wieder zu verlassen. Die Teller dann mit einem Schnauber (vielleicht hat er ja auch Atemprobleme, wer weiß.....) und blöden Kommentaren auf den Tisch geklatscht bekommen (der gute Mann hat eben nicht gewußt, daß ich auch etwas Griechisch kann), das Weißbier ohne Schaumkrone und ein Duft im Lokal, der an einen feuchten Keller erinnert, hat den Abend natürlich gekrönt. Um 21.15h wurden wir dann mit der Aufforderung zu zahlen nach draußen befördert. Arg verwunderlich, denn draußen stand was von Öffnungszeit bis 22.30h, es war weder Sonn- noch Feiertag; allerdings nehmen´s die sog. Gastronomen damit anscheinend nicht so genau, im Netz und vor der Türe findet man insgesamt vier verschiedene Zeitangaben (mindestens wahrscheinlich). Über die Qualität der Speise, wir hatten dann lediglich eine warme Vorspeise bestellt, wollten den armen Koch ja nicht überfordern, kann man nur sagen: viel hätte man nicht falsch machen können, und selbst da war es nicht weit her mit Qualität. Alles in Allem: es gibt einen Italiener am Neuen Marktplatz, DER WEISS WIE SOWAS GEHT!!!! Macht mal bei ihm Lehrstunden oder überlegt euch, ob ihr euren Job überhaupt gerne macht. Auch wenn ich hier zur Reha war und etwas weiter weg wohne: der Italiener ist es wert, daß meine Frau und ich gelegentlich vorbeikommen. "Der Grieche" wird ganz sicher nicht auf der Agenda stehen.

We ordered food for pickup today. I can't confirm the previous criticisms regarding the "unfriendly" service. I was greeted warmly by all the employees. The restaurant seems a bit dark, but that's probably due to the fact that it's located in the basement. The most important thing for me, though, is the food. Both my bifteki and my wife's gyro were delicious. The tomato rice also tasted of tomato and wasn't dry, as is often the case in other restaurants. The portions are very generous. No one will go home hungry. We will definitely order again.

The food was fine, the service was also good until it was time to pay. I wanted to pay by card and that was a problem. The waiter claimed that he had a bad contract with the bank for accepting cards. The staff took us to a nearby ATM and demanded cash. The whole behavior was very strange.

Ich kann die schlechten Kritiken nicht nachvollziehen. Ich war über den Jahreswechsel von 2024 auf 2025 im Rahmen eines Kurzurlaubs in Bad Birnbach und habe zweimal beim Griechen zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war jedesmal super lecker und unfreundlich war da auch niemand, ganz im Gegenteil. Ich würde das griechische Restaurant jederzeit wieder besuchen und werde das im April 2025 auch tun, wenn ich das nächste mal in Bad Birnbach bin.

Da wir erst spät in Bad Birnbach angereist waren suchten wir ein Restaurant, dass die Moglichkeit anbietet etwas später zu essen. Meine Frau wartete oben wärend ich hinunter ins Restaurant ging um in Erfahrung zu bringen bis wann die Küche geöffnet wäre. Mir wurde mitgeteilt, dass die Küche bis 20.30 Uhr geöffnet sei. Ich antwortete darauf, dass ich dies mit meiner Frau besprechen müsse. Wir haben uns dagegen entschieden dieses Restaurant an diesem Abend zu besuchen. Ich meine wir hätten auch einfach gehen können ohne nochmals bescheid zu geben, allerdings finde ich es angebracht zu sagen, dass man dann doch keinen Tisch für diesen Abend braucht und eigentlich wollte ich für den nächsten Abend reservieren. Als ich dann ins Restaurant kam um zu sagen, dass wir heute nicht mehr kommen da es dem Restaurant nicht zuzumuten ist wegen 2 Leuten den Laden länger offen zu halten wurde ich von zwei sehr unfreundlichen Herren angesprochen was ich denn wolle und es quasi Eine Frechheit sei so spät essen zu wollen. Kurzum ist dieses Restaurant alleine auf Grund der Unfreundlichkeit absolut NICHT zu empfehlen. Ausser man möchte sich blöd anreden lassen. Als ich dann noch die Frechheit besaß ob sie evtl einen Zigarettenautomaten hätten wurde dies rüde verneint und der Herr half mir mit einem leichten Schubs zur Tür!! Gastfreundschaft absolut negativ!!

I've been here several times at the Greek restaurant in Bad Birnbach and have always been satisfied. Today I ordered a fish plate and was surprised that the whole fish was breaded, but that wasn't noted on the menu. I was asked if it was I said no, then a gentleman came along who, judging by his demeanor, could have been the boss, reacted very rudely to my criticism and used a wrong tone. Criticism can also lead to one Positive change, but apparently not for this gentleman, if we had met these people earlier, we wouldn't have visited the restaurant so often, but he won't see us anymore anyway!!!

We waited almost an hour for our drinks after we were asked three times and I'm not "snooty" or anything like that but that was too long for me. Also, our plates weren't really clean the first time and were still greasy, so the food tasted great But the service was terrible. We were recommended to take a smaller plate, which we also realized. This plate wasn't enough and we wanted to order another one, whereupon we were treated unkindly. I've never experienced anything like that before, but I can't recommend it to each his own.

Der Kellner war schon bei der Getränke Bestellung unfreundlich . Haben Calamari gebacken gegessen. Die haben alt und nach altem Fritteusen Fett geschmeckt. Nach dem Ich dem Kellner gesagt habe das sie nicht gut sind und wie Kaugummi und nach altem Fritteuse fett geschmeckt haben war er noch unfreundlicher und hat sich versucht rauszureden da ich selber Koch bin und bisschen Ahnung davon haben wollte er anfangen rumzudiskutieren und sich rauszureden nicht mal nachgefragt ob wir als Entschädigung einen Kaffee wollen ( haben vllt 10 % von den teller gegessen Sehr unzufrieden

The waiter was unfriendly when we ordered the drinks. Ate baked calamari. They tasted old and like old deep fryer grease. After I told the waiter that they weren't good and that they tasted like chewing gum and like old deep fryers, he was even more unfriendly and tried to talk his way out of it. I was able to eat a very tasty bifteki. The fries were crispy, the rice was perhaps a bit tomatoey for my taste but good. The side salad was fresh and crunchy. I have no complaints at all about the service, which has been widely criticized in the online reviews. The service was really very friendly and professional. The only thing that could actually be worked on is the ambience. I will definitely be happy to come here again on my next visit. Thanks!

ATTENTION!!!First of all, the food is very good " BUT " The owner's son (43 years old) is extremely unfriendly and cheeky!! He also serves. I was really looking forward to the Greek food as it was my last day in Bad Birnbach. Even though I wasn't interested in politics, he confronted me about it!! Unobjective cheeky manner. There is an older gentleman serving there who is fine. But I could also observe that the owner's son also had an unfriendly manner towards other guests. The food was tasty but this attitude from him is reason enough not to go to this restaurant again!! I think it's a shame. And his responses to some negative reviews show that I am right with my review! If you can't handle criticism, you shouldn't run a restaurant!! Anyone who shouts at their customers or calls them farmers... should think about their own brain if they can (if he can) Those who fly high also fall low 😉 Just because the reviews have been good all these years (I think thanks to his father) doesn't mean everything is ok.

The service is rude and incompetent. The food is bad and the drinks are watered down. Extra requests are laughed at and cheekily rejected. I can't understand the 4 stars, the negative reviews show the true picture of the basement. The response to the review is also an insight into the incompetence at work there!

The service from the waitress was very nice, The owner's service, very unfriendly I complained about a salad that was labbayk and careless on the plate. The supposedly grilled calamari was almost raw. I've never had such bad Greek food in my life.

I am totally horrified by what I experienced today! I very kindly complained about my son's gyros because it smelled sour and tasted sour. The waiter then laughed at me and said they had no idea! The meat is fresh, it's just crispy. But he took the plate with him and brought it back shortly afterwards, probably the same one. When my son didn't eat anything, the waiter said again as he passed by that the meat was fresh. Then the boss yelled at me from across a few tables. YOU PAY FOR THIS!!! I didn't say a word that I wouldn't pay. I've never experienced anything like that... Instead of apologizing for the spoiled meat, the guest is put down in such a way that EVERYONE in the restaurant notices. I will never set foot in this restaurant again. And I hope that many people believe the bad reviews and, above all, read the boss's insulting answers. That says it all.

We had a lovely evening at Der Grieche in Bad Birnbach. The restaurant was busy on Mondays, but you could still get a table even without a reservation. Very friendly and fast service staff. We ordered minced steak with cheese gratin and grilled liver. Each meal comes with rice with fries and a side salad. The entire meal was very tasty. Only the fries could have been a little crispier. Price-wise, everything is very fair for 2024. We'll be happy to come back when we're in Bad Birnbach.

Das griechische Restaurant befindet sich im Untergeschoss vom Hotel Sonnenhof. Es ist düster und die dunklen Möbel lassen es auch nicht freundlicher erscheinen. Es gab zur Begrüssung einen eisgekühlter Ouzo. Weiter wurden am Tisch die Teelichter angezündet. Das Essen war gut, aber nichts besonderes. Störend war, dass nicht beide Hauptspeisen zusammen an den Tisch gebracht wurden.

Man sollte den „NULL STERNE“ Rezensionen glauben: unfreundlich, beleidigend, frech, ungepflegt, launisch, lustlos wird man bedient, der Teller wird einem hingeschoben. Ständig rufen Wirt und Kellner laut über den Hof, eigentlich ein Parkplatz der lieblos als Terrasse bestuhlt wurde. Ich habe mit bekommen wie ein Gast sich höflich beschwerte, da das Essen wohl nicht schmeckte. Ohne Rücksicht auf andere Gäste wurde der Gast über den Hof vom Wirt angeschrien und beschimpft. Fürchterlich empfinde ich auch die unverschämten beleidigenden Antworten in den Rezensionen unten vom Wirt selbst. Leider lebt dieser Wirt nur von Touristen, denn er scheint weder Lust auf sein Restaurant, noch auf Gäste zu haben. So etwas habe ich noch nie in der Form erlebt. Schade, denn man kommt gut gelaunt und freundlich als Gast. Das Restaurant passt gar nicht zu diesem Ort. Das Essen ist auf unterem Touristenneavau nicht schmackhaft. Der vorab gereichte OUZO war wohl verdünnt, oder im Angebot. Übrigens war auf keinem der Stühle ein Kissen und Blumen wie im Bild standen nirgens

The host and waiter are constantly shouting loudly across the courtyard, which is actually a parking lot that has been carelessly converted into a terrace. I overheard a guest politely complaining because the food didn't taste good. Without any consideration for other guests, the guest was shouted at and insulted across the yard by the innkeeper. I also find the outrageous, insulting answers in the reviews below from the innkeeper himself terrible. Unfortunately, this innkeeper only lives off tourists, because he doesn't seem to have any interest in his restaurant or in having guests. I've never experienced anything like this before. It's a shame, because you come as a guest in a good mood and friendly. The restaurant doesn't fit this place at all. The food is not tasty on a lower tourist level. The OUZO that was served in advance was probably diluted or on offer.

Unfortunately I can only agree with the “ZERO STARS” reviews: unfriendly, insulting, cheeky, unkempt, moody, listless, you get yelled at if you don't like it, small wine spritzer on the menu... only large wine spritzer (not tasty) in the bar, water -Uzo, ...and the worst thing I find is the outrageously insulting answers in the reviews below. Hands off this shop - a disgrace for Bad Birnbach's otherwise good gastronomy.

Leider kann ich mich nur „NULL STERNE“ vergeben: unfreundlich, beleidigend, frech, ungepflegt, launisch, lustlos, man wird angeschnauzt wenn es einem nicht schmeckt, kleine Weinschorle auf Karte… nur große Weinschorle (nicht lecker) im Ausschank, Wasser-Uzo, …und als schlimmstes empfinde ich die unverschämten beleidigenden Antworten in den Google-Rezensionen. Hände weg von diesem Laden – eine Schande für Bad Birnbach’s sonst so guter Gastronomie.

Dieses Restaurant ist eigentlich keines. die Gerichte waren salzig, lieblos hergerichtet und der Service ließ absolut zu wünschen übrig. Sehr grenzwertig. Eigentlich müsste man null Punkte vergeben, aber den einen muss man wohl oder übel abgeben. In Bad Birnbach gibt es deutlich bessere Restaurant. Besser, ihr spart euer Geld.

Leider wurden wir sehr unhöflich vom Wirt behandelt. Draußen standen Tische und Stühle und wir wollten uns auch draußen hinsetzen. Ich konnte nach einer Kniegelenkersatz OP nicht die Treppen ins Lokal gehen. Leider wurde uns sehr unhöflich mitgeteilt, dass nur im Lokal gegessen werden kann. Daraufhin haben wir uns einfach Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellt und haben dann eben draußen gegessen. Der Wirt war auch bei der Aufnahme der Bestellung sehr unhöflich. Nach uns kam eine Frau, sie wollte auch draußen essen. Diese Frau hat er sogar aus dem Lokal geworfen. Essen war gut und Portion auch gross, trotzdem sieht uns dieser Wirt nie wieder.

Greek plate: 5 types of grilled meat, tomato rice and tzatziki. Greatly seasoned food that tasted great. We will definitely come back here...👍👍👍
