Very tasty food, served by friendly, attentive staff in a pleasant setting. Very good value for money.

I've been here countless times, and this time I treated myself to a 700g schnitzel – and what can I say: it's every schnitzel lover's dream. The schnitzel was huge and delicious, with a small side salad and a choice of sauces. The service is what you'd expect from a typical inn – tidy, friendly, and as quick as possible. If it gets really busy, it can take a little longer, but that's completely normal. Tip: If you're really hungry, go for the 700g or 600g schnitzel. The cordon bleus are also large portions and very filling. I highly recommend this restaurant – you rarely find a schnitzel like this these days.

A truly disappointing visit. More show than substance. My recent visit to the Dorfwirt in Stein was, unfortunately, a thoroughly disappointing experience that fell far short of my expectations of a Bavarian inn. The service was abysmal. It started with us being ignored for a long time and no one feeling responsible. When we were finally served, the staff were inattentive and seemed stressed – there was little sign of Bavarian hospitality here. Drinks arrived late, and the food order was unnecessarily slow. Unfortunately, the food couldn't salvage the mood. My schnitzel was tough and bland, and the side dishes were tasteless and only lukewarm. My companion's dishes were also mediocre at best, lacking the freshness and quality one would expect from an inn of this type. It seemed as if there was a lack of attention to detail and culinary skill. And even the ambiance, which appears rustic at first glance, couldn't cover up the shortcomings. Upon closer inspection, it looked a bit worn and not particularly clean. The restrooms weren't exactly top-notch either. Overall, the Dorfwirt in Stein was a huge disappointment for us. There were simply too many things that didn't quite add up to make the visit a positive experience. With so many options in Chieming and the surrounding area, I unfortunately wouldn't recommend this inn. There's definitely a lot of catching up to do here to satisfy guests.

Well, there's not much to say here – one of the few restaurants around here where you can still get real, good, home-style food that's filling! In the summer, it's a top-notch beer garden – and you can usually still find a spot somewhere, but it's still best to make a reservation. I'm looking forward to the next time!

1 out of 5 stars – If I could, I'd give zero. I don't know what I just ate, but it definitely wasn't a schnitzel. The "meat" was so wet. Supposedly "crispy" on the outside, but in reality, it was just hard as concrete and tasted somewhere between cardboard and old frying oil. The fries? A mushy disaster. Soggy, greasy, and lukewarm – as if someone had eaten them first, then spat them out and served them to me. No salt, no seasoning, no love. Even frozen fries from a discount store are a culinary experience compared to that. Plus, a sad blob of ketchup from the cheapest tube, which contains more sugar than tomato. Service – extremely racist and impossible to find. Ambience? Cafeteria flair meets apocalyptic mood. Conclusion: If you hate your life, eat here. It's absolutely ridiculous that something like this is even on a menu. Never again.

We visited the Dorfstüberl for the first time today. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the food was delicious and the portions generous. We'll definitely be back. Keep up the good work. Thank you for the excellent service.

Traditional inn with good Bavarian cuisine

Good, home-style cooking at an ideal price-performance ratio for families...a varied, delicious menu. They cook and sizzle here...many dishes even include a small side salad. There's something for everyone here. Schnitzel XL, Cordon Bleu...sausage salad...steak, roast beef with onions...brilliant...the outdoor area is very nice.

We found a rustic village inn with typical furnishings, very friendly staff, and a large menu with excellent dishes. If you enjoy good, home-style food, this is the perfect place for you. The prices are more than reasonable for the service offered!

Wir wollten heute zum Mittagessen in dieses Restaurant gehen. Es war nicht das erste Mal, dass wir dort waren – bei einem Spaziergang kehrt man gerne mal ein. Ich habe eine Cola im Glas bestellt. Die Dame, die uns bedient hat, brachte sie mir jedoch nicht in der originalen Glasflasche, sondern bereits eingeschenkt in einem normalen Glas. Ich habe höflich darum gebeten, mir die Cola bitte in der Flasche zu bringen, da ich sie so lieber trinke. Die Kellnerin wirkte sofort genervt aber brachte mir widerwillig die Flasche sowie ein zweites Glas zum Selbst-Einschenken. Wir haben sofort zwei Schnitzel mit Pommes bestellt. Nach 1 Stunde und 10 Minuten hatten wir unser Essen immer noch nicht erhalten. In der Zwischenzeit wurden an drei anderen Tischen – jeweils mit sechs Personen – Schnitzel und andere Gerichte serviert. Diese Gäste waren alle mindestens 20–30 Minuten nach uns gekommen. Wir hatten auch zwei Hunde dabei und haben nach Wasser für beide gefragt, da es sehr heiß war. Leider haben wir dieses auch nie bekommen. Ich bin schließlich aufgestanden und zu dem Herrn gegangen, den ich für den Besitzer hielt, um die Situation zu erklären. Er war nicht direkt unhöflich, aber auch keineswegs freundlich oder verständnisvoll. Ich habe zunehmend den Eindruck, dass die Kellnerin absichtlich so reagiert hat, weil ich sie zuvor darauf hingewiesen hatte, dass sie mir die Cola nicht wie gewünscht in der Flasche, sondern schon ausgeschenkt im Glas serviert hatte. Am Ende haben wir die Cola und das Bier bezahlt, obwohl wir über eine Stunde umsonst dort saßen – ohne Essen, ohne Entschuldigung, ohne jegliches Entgegenkommen. Diese Erfahrung war alles andere als gastfreundlich. Für uns steht fest: Nach dieser Episode werden wir dieses Lokal nicht mehr besuchen.

As always, it was very good. Had the village platter for two people, but three people could eat it. Therefore the price is completely reasonable. The waitresses were very nice and didn't wait long for the food. Afterwards there was a Kaiserschmarrn which was also very tasty. Would love to come back

Very cozy place! Service was great, food was really good! You can dine wonderfully outside under large trees. A swing helps little guests bridge the waiting time!

The Dorfwirt is also the village meeting place. You sit here as part of the community and not as a stranger. The innkeeper is a real Bavarian veteran and strength training legend.

Delicious food for a very fair price

The four of us went on holiday for 5 days at the dorfwirt. We felt really comfortable straight away. Rooms were clean and cleaned every day. Special requests were also fulfilled at breakfast and were plentiful. The absolutely amazing beer garden was and is. Everything just fits there. The food and portions are great and the staff, like the boss himself, are very friendly and helpful. Big praise also to the 2 boys from the kitchen. All in all a successful holiday. We'll definitely see each other again

We were there again with friends for the first time in over 40 years. In the 80s, the restaurant was our regular meeting place where colleagues from the intensive care and surgical departments at the Traunsteiner Clinic met regularly.

We made a reservation for 10 people at short notice yesterday, Christmas Day. There was a great little menu with game, roast veal, etc. There was also a delicious dessert. We were completely satisfied, the food was very good and the service was also great.

Very cozy restaurant with very good portions. The specially made currywurst from a butcher is particularly praiseworthy because it tastes really great. You can order between small portions or xxl here. Reservation in advance is better. We've always found it very tasty

Gemütlich kleines bayerisches Gasthaus. Wir waren nur spontan zum Essen auf der Durchfahrt. Haben freundlicherweise einen Platz bekommen trotz Kirchweih Sonntag und ohne Reservierung. Außenbereich im Sommer mit Biergarten. Ich hatte ein Cordon Bleu (die normale Größe - es gibt auch eine XL Version). Butterweich und gut! Mein Partner hatte die Kirchweih Ente. Auch sehr gut. Service ist auf Zack und sehr freundlich. Für Kinder gibt es einen Spiel und Mal Bereich. Bestens zu empfehlen!

Die Speisekarte lässt keine Wünsche offen. Oft schreckt so eine üppige Karte ab. Aber in diesem Fall uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Besonders der Kaiserschmarrn ist zu empfehlen.

Bis jetzt waren wir öfters mal beim essen und zufrieden! Bis auf letzten Sonntag!! Die Preise sind ziemlich gestiegen und der Service ließ zum wünschen übrig. Ein Blatt war die Speisekarte ! Ente war mit Knödel und Blaukraut ausgeschrieben ,als das Essen kam war kein Blaukraut drauf. Es wurde verwiesen das es keins gäbe und ob man mit einen Salat einverstanden währe. Also da die Ente schon da stand waren wir einverstanden. Die Hälfte Ente wurde bereits verzehrt und der Salat immer noch nicht da! Erst nach nachfragen was denn jetzt mit dem Salat war wurde er gebracht. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt da nicht mehr. Das Fleisch bei dem Schwabenpfandl war ziemlich zäh darf bei Schweinemedallions nicht sein zumal bei 19,90 € mehr zu erwarten sein sollte. Also Fakt ist das wir da leider keine Kunden mehr sein werden.

Sehr gutes Essen zum fairen Preis. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Eine von wenigen richtigen bayrischen Wirtschaften, die es noch gut.

Wir haben auf der Durchreise in diesem Landgasthof übernachtet. Er ist unweit des Chiemsees, ca 10 Autominuten. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der hauseigene Biergarten bzw. das Restaurant. Das Essen war vorzüglich und frisch zubereitet. Der Zander ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. Es wurde auch auf meine Nahrungsmittelunverträglichkeit eingegangen. Ein sehr symphatisches Team. Die Zimmer waren im 90 er Einrichtungsstil, wer gerne Buche mag, wird begeistert sein;-). Alles in allem aber in Ordnung für eine Nacht, zudem haben die Zimmer eine ordentliche Größe und Ablagemöglichkeiten. Mir hat leider der Föhn gefehlt. Das Bett war okay, aber für große Menschen wegen der Holzumrandung etwas unbequem. Frühstück wieder sehr schmackhaft.

Wir waren gestern Abend mit unserer Reisegruppe zum Abendessen im Biergarten. 35 begeisterte Leute! Das Essen war super, der Service Top und Bettina eine Klasse für sich. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder. 👌

Prima gegeten bij super aardige mensen. Goede service en heerlijke Schnitzel..

Waren spontan am Montag zu viert zum Abendessen im schönen Biergarten des Dorfwirt. Die Kellnerin und ihre junge Assistentin waren freundlich und vor allem sehr schnell! Da wir recht früh (ca 17:30Uhr) dort waren und noch einige Plätze frei waren, hatten wir ebenso schnell unser Essen. Was vor allem die Kinder freute, die sich aber fast lieber auf der, dem Biergarten zugehörigen Schaukel, weiter vergnügt hätten. Uns allen hat es ausgezeichnet geschmeckt, wobei die Portionen (Käsespätzle, Schnitzel L, Pommes) für alle zu groß waren. Aber ein Doggybag wurde wie selbstverständlich gereicht. Alles in allem ein super Abend und wir kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank! *Update* Auf Grund der ersten positiven Erfahrung waren wir erneut im Dorfwirt. Und uns wurde trotz fehlender Reservierung schnell ein Platz bereitet, obwohl fast alles belegt/reserviert war. Top! Allerdings waren die Schweinelendchen mehr als nur eine Minute zu lange in der Pfanne! Mit der leckeren Champignon-Rahm-Soße ging es dann aber einigermaßen. Die restlichen Gerichte waren gut. Wir wurden dann auch noch von einem Gewitter überrascht, worauf alle Gäste nach drinnen flüchteten. Aber auch darauf hat das Team professionell und freundlich reagiert. Vielen Dank!

Hier gibt es die besten Schnitzel weit und breit! Die Schwammerlsoße dazu einfach vorzüglich! Schöner Biergarten und sehr nette Bedienungen! Ich gehe gerne hierher und werde es so oft wie noch wiederholen!
