We really enjoyed the food and the time at the Bonner Hof. The meal was excellent. The composition of the dishes is well thought out and definitely formulated with a little wink. The service is great and very accommodating. The service is very friendly, quick and polite. Despite these consistently positive points, the prices are reasonable, upscale but not expensive. Even if many guests appear very well-groomed, it is not a chic atmosphere. It is very cozy, well-kept and you feel very welcome. The division of the rooms creates a calm and personal situation. We will come back, even if it is a longer journey from Bonn!

We always thought that the Bonner Hof couldn't be beaten in the extensive area around Essen. Yesterday the team and Ms. Matzke outdid themselves again. The fantastic menu, big compliments to the kitchen, the loving ambience and the staff, who contributed to an exceptionally beautiful evening with their politeness, attentiveness and stylish, emphatic appearance. Ms. Matzke and the team love and live what they do. Politeness, attentiveness and the feeling for a loving and extravagant design of the rooms and table decorations cannot be learned, you live and feel them. Thank you again, we always know where to go when we want to particularly round off an important day for us. The next visit is planned and we are already looking forward to it. Maybe table 13 again 😉.

A fabulous restaurant. We have now traveled an extra 70km. The restaurant shines with its great and loving ambience. Everything is furnished with great attention to detail. The team is perfectly coordinated and super accommodating. Maximum friendliness, attentiveness and great interaction with children round off the excellent staff performance. To eat: It's all just delicious. We have been there many times and have never been disappointed. We also celebrated our wedding there, and I can also recommend larger events here. Everything is perfect. Please everyone carry on like this. As always, we'd love to come back :-)

We went to this cozy restaurant for the first time based on a recommendation. We were given a very friendly welcome, looked after and the food, from the starter to the dessert, was amazing. We say thank you and will definitely come back.

Yesterday we were invited by friends to the Bonner Hof! Fantastic ambience! The place is so tastefully decorated, great furniture, chic lamps, comfortable chairs, like something out of a movie! The service is outstanding, attentive and very, very friendly! The jackets were taken from us and returned after our visit, everyone was so friendly! The food was great, modernly prepared and delicious! I had the schnitzel roll with fries and salad and what I got was a great dish! Wine and water glasses are at the beautifully set table! Wine is not brought to you in a glass by the waiter, but rather the waiter comes to the table with the well-chilled wine! Feels great, like a host giving you a drink, not like a servant bringing something! I have rarely felt so comfortable in a restaurant!!!! Thanks! Keep doing the same!

It was beautiful!!! The facility alone is worth a visit, The welcome was very warm, the service was more than attentive without being intrusive and the food was delicious from A to Z. The portions were generous, so unfortunately there was no room left for dessert, which was a shame...We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Until then, muchas gracias y hasta luego!

Nice atmosphere. Delicious tapas/starters. However, the main course was very greasy. The white wines tasted pretty flabby. Some dishes are also quite “special”. My espresso was only lukewarm. What unfortunately didn't work at all was the service. First of all, the waitress had really bad timing. We were asked for wine and drinks even though our colleague was already there. Same with dessert. At 10:30 p.m. the young lady started clearing our table. At 10:50 p.m., there were still a few guests in the restaurant, she came because she would like to collect money. It would be better to have a tip in cash (sure, make your wish!). We then sat together with an open bottle of wine and degistif. The restaurant probably closes at 11 p.m. Although we dined there for almost €400 and gave a pretty generous tip (which in retrospect was not justified), we were informed at 11:15 p.m. that we were now the last guests. About 20 minutes later we were already standing in front of our table with our jackets in our hands. When we remarked that we were in a restaurant, the cheeky answer came: at some point we've had enough and we finally want to call it a day. ;) Before Corona, restaurateurs looked after their guests. If you want to finish work early on the weekend, you probably shouldn't open a restaurant or work in the catering industry!! So I definitely won't go there again.

My wife and I went to this restaurant for the first time today. Our reservation request was made a day in advance by email. The confirmation email came quickly and was written very politely and nicely. We were also very warmly welcomed in the restaurant. The furnishings are very nice and harmonious and create a pleasant atmosphere. The service was extremely attentive and polite throughout. The starters were phenomenal and our main courses were very good. It was a really great evening and we will definitely come back. Thank you.

Haven't eaten there in a long time. And yesterday we spent New Year's Eve here. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The unobtrusive but very attentive service from Ben, the restaurant manager and David is particularly noteworthy. Thanks to the entire team. We would love to come back as soon as possible

Always my pleasure! We celebrated our wedding in a small group (30 people) at the Bonner Hof and can fully recommend the restaurant. The owner took a lot of time for us before the celebration to discuss the menu, decorations and process. We felt in good hands from the first moment. All guests were enthusiastic about the location. Days after the wedding we were called by our friends who kept mentioning how wonderful the evening at the Bonner Hof had been and, above all, that the food was outstanding. There was something for everyone. The recommended drink selection was also excellent. The service was always attentive and friendly. We would like to thank the entire team again for the great evening and are always happy to come to the Bonner Hof as “normal” guests.

Wir haben am 07.09.2024 unsere Silberhochzeit im Bonner Hof gefeiert. Es war vom ersten Vorbereitungstreffen an ein unvergessliches Erlebnis, mit Frau Matzke und Ihrem Team die Feier vorzubereiten und den Tag zu genießen. Wir haben selten jemanden erlebt, der so in seinem Beruf aufgeht und ihn zu seiner Passion macht, wie es Frau Matzke schafft. Diese Leidenschaft überträgt sich auf Ihr Team, auf das sie sich total verlassen kann. Wenn Sie verspricht "machen Sie sich keine Sorgen, dass wird wunderschön", dann klappt das auch! Das Essen war so klasse, dass es absolut nichts zu meckern gab. Die spanische Küche ist authentisch und Sonderwünsche nach einem deutschen Schnitzel wurden prompt erfüllt. Das war Professionalität von hohem Rang! Dazu das stimmige und liebevolle Ambiente der Räumlichkeiten, wir haben uns in dieser Wohnzimmeratmosphäre absolut wohlgefühlt. Frau Matzkes feines Händchen für die Dekoration nahm die Wünsche meiner Frau perfekt auf. Das Team las uns jeden Wunsch von den Lippen ab und hat vom Sektempfang an und bis Mitternacht einen tollen und engagierten Job gemacht. Auch als wir das Restaurant nach dem Essen in ein Tanzlokal verwandeln durften und unser eigener DJ uns zum Tanzen eingeheizt hat, hatte das Team sichtlich Spaß und uns alle Wünsche erfüllt. Solche MitarbeiterInnen sind heute in der Gastronomie rar gesät und echte Schätze! Erwähnen müssen wir auch den schön gestalteten Garten. Da wir das Restaurant exklusiv für uns hatten, konnten wir Essen, Tanz und entspannte Unterhaltung auf alle Bereiche des Restaurants verteilen. Wir können den Bonner Hof wirklich nur empfehlen. Seit Jahren gehen wir immer wieder mal dort hin und wurden nie enttäuscht. Die Krönung war nun unsere Silberhochzeit, die wir nicht vergessen werden. Dafür unseren herzlicher Dank!

Nice restaurant, was very good on my first visit. I've been there a few more times now. Unfortunately, both my goose and my roast were super dry. The sauce didn't help either. I was also very disappointed with the steak. The starters are at least good. The last visit was probably the last for now

Hello and many greetings from the Bonner Hof in Essen Kettwig. Are from Hanover and are completely thrilled by this ambience. Every visit is worth it.

We spontaneously stopped here for a cozy dinner and were impressed by the reviews. The restaurant is really beautifully decorated, elegant and harmonious! The service was excellent from start to finish and we were accompanied attentively throughout the entire visit. We ordered an Iberico burger and the Iberico schnitzel with the pulled Iberico. Beforehand there was a greeting from the kitchen and bread with mint butter. The food was really fantastic, the meat was on point, the side dishes were incredibly good! We'd love to come back :) Absolute recommendation to eat here!

We celebrated a friend's wedding here. The staff were so amazing, especially the guy who spoke English for those who were from the UK. The food was so yummy, I kept eating beyond being full. All our needs were catered to.

Price performance wasn't right for us! The quality of the food and the ambience were good! The staff friendly. However, we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food, which we didn't find reasonable. The restaurant wasn't so full or well attended that the waiting time could have been justified. The portions were smaller than expected for the price we paid. More like a senior plate. It's a shame because we chose the restaurant based on the reviews.

We actually just wanted to eat something briefly and then we spontaneously decided on the Bonner Hof. Despite its name, it is one of the best Spanish restaurants I have been to in a long time. The service was very nice and the food was excellent. So I have a big recommendation for the Bonner Hof.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen mit ausgesucht guten Zutaten, wenige ausgewählte gute Weine, sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Wir haben uns sehr gefreut, auf unserer Radtour auf diese Perle gestoßen zu sein.

Ambiente: innen und im Außenbereich sehr gemütlich. Es störte draußen der Fluglärm. Service: bemüht freundlich, einiges immer wieder vergessen. Getränke gut. Essen: der Rioja Braten an sich in Ordnung, zu wenig Sauce. Ratatouille sehr übersichtlich, Kartoffeln ungenießbar. Sommerbraten in Ordnung. Tapas: Tintenfisch gut, Kroketten nicht so lecker(sagten alle drei Personen) und zu teuer mit 16€.

Actually, I never rate things via Google, neither good nor bad. Tastes are different and everyone should form their own opinion. I make an exception at the Bonner Hof. We have eaten there several times and have always been completely satisfied. Now we celebrated a big birthday there with friends and we had a really nice evening. Everything was just right again. The ambience, the food and its composition and above all the service. The young men are super quick and nice. You don't have it that often these days. Our guests also emphasized several times how great it was and commented positively on it again a day later. It's worth giving a positive review.

Wir hatten einen besonderen Anlass und wurden bitter enttäuscht. Der Abend war ein richtiger Stimmungskiller. Als Gruß aus der Kücke kam vorweg eine kleine Tasse mit " Suppe ? " die so scharf und salzig war, dass alle Geschmacksknospen restlos betäubt waren und ein starkes Durstgefühl einsetzte. Absicht ? Die Empfehlung des Tages : Paella war schlicht weg ungeniessbar: der Reis war extrem klebrich ( auch an der Unterseite der Pfanne ) , die Fischstücke waren sehr trocken, bei den Riesengarnelen entleerte sich braune Flüßigkeit beim Entfernen des Kopfes. Insgesamt hatte man den Eindruck, die Paella wäre mehere Stunden im Ofen aufgewärmt worden. Dazu gab es einen guten Salat und Brot mit reichlich Aioli, die völlig artefiziell schmeckte und sicher nicht frisch zubereitet war. Der empfohlene Weißwein war eher billiger Tafelwein. Früher hatte der Bonner Hof einen guten Ruf, jetzt ist davon gar nichts mehr übrig.

Food very good, ambience great, service unfortunately mediocre. We have been going to the Bonner Hof at irregular intervals for several years. The quality of the food and the presentation are at a very high level. The service was always very good and friendly. On our last visit with three of us, we each had steak with the so-called Schickimicki fries, fries with parmesan and truffles. The dishes were very tasty and arranged very attractively on the plate. Unfortunately, for the second time in a row, the service was, let's say: friendly but disinterested, slow and therefore in need of improvement. The welcome, the recommendation of the day and the taking of our order were very nice and friendly. Then we had to wait over 50 minutes for our food. This can happen even if the dishes we chose were not the most difficult to prepare. We also had the same thing three times. Here at the Bonner Hof I would have expected that a) this would be quicker and b) the customer would be informed if the kitchen needed longer. While we were waiting, no one came to ask us for more drinks. When we received the main course I asked for salt and pepper. After it wasn't on the table for more than 5 minutes, I went to the counter myself to get it. After the main course, our plates were only cleared away after half an hour. The dessert coffee came in a reasonable time and was again very good quality. After we paid and left the restaurant, the staff was busy with themselves and their cell phones and we weren't greeted goodbye. I can add that we sat in the room facing the garden and walked past the service counter and the kitchen, but were ignored. We then asked ourselves whether we had seemed rude at any point, so the service was deliberately uninterested in dealing with us. We could deny that. Our conclusion is: 1) Food was excellent. 2) Kitchen was overwhelmed with time and possibly understaffed, but delivers great food. 3) Service needs to become more attentive again. We seriously didn't feel welcome. We never had this feeling before at the Bonner Hof. And we have already celebrated our daughter's communion here.

We were guests at the Bonner Hof with five adults and three small children and felt extremely welcome and comfortable. Because of the nice weather we were able to sit in the tastefully designed outdoor area. The children were immediately provided with painting supplies and there was a children's menu with child-friendly delicacies, but requests were also kindly accommodated. At the end there was a children's surprise. Great. We adults were very happy with the food overall, it was unusual and special and simply really tasty. It's something special to eat here, a huge tribute to the chefs!!! I would like to highlight the extremely friendly service. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Unbeknownst to us, we wanted to spend a nice evening as a couple because we had no children and were looking for a nice opportunity to enjoy togetherness over dinner. During our search we came across “Der Bonner Hof” and quickly reserved a table for two. The head waiter/restaurant manager on the phone was very nice and polite. We would be warmly welcomed on site and looked after very professionally throughout the evening. The food was truly unique and truly a surprise to the senses. We had some fish (shrimp) and vegetarian (croquettes with lentil salad) from all areas as a starter and steak and organic chicken skewer as the main course. The food really filled us up but we didn't feel full. It was very professionally prepared and could easily have stood up to a star restaurant or an upscale restaurant. We would happily come back just because of the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and the good food. We felt very taken care of and were happy to have been there. I can only say thank you very much

Food was good, no guests were surprised except us but we will be back

This was our second time at the Bonner Hof Essen. Personally, I really like the atmosphere, the service staff are always friendly and try to please everyone. But the best thing is the food. At the beginning you are served a strong homemade broth in a small drinking glass. That's when you realize what the real taste is and that after talking to the chef it is 100% homemade. Next you get a homemade roll with a cream made from roasted tomatoes as a greeting from the house. The following self-ordered dishes on the menu, which only consist of a few but very tasty dishes, were all in the top league in terms of taste. The card changes monthly. In terms of price, it's already on the higher side, but overall it was definitely worth it. We will be back definitely.

Schönes Ambiente und freundliche Bedienung. Qualität des Essens entspricht nicht dem Preisniveau. Die Kompositionen, welche auf der Speisekarte beschrieben werden lassen ein wirklich gutes Essen erwarten. Leider wird dies nicht geliefert. Entenbrust ohne Brustfleisch. Die Ofenkartoffel ungenießbar von vorgestern. Ein Besuch ist nicht empfehlenswert!!!

The Bonner Hof is one of my absolute favorite restaurants that we treat ourselves to every now and then! Since it is one of the high-priced restaurants, it is only suitable for special occasions. The evenings that I was able to spend there have all been a highlight so far - also from a culinary point of view! Everything looks beautiful and tastes great! The staff is friendly and well trained! Absolutely great! Attention: be sure to reserve - on special days like Christmas or New Year's Eve, even months in advance!!!

We celebrated our gold wedding there a week ago with 20 people. During the preliminary discussion with Ms. Matzke, she listened to our wishes and ideas and gave us very good advice on menu planning. On the day itself we were amazed by everything. Starting with the table decoration, the menu cards, the room as a whole and especially the food - everything was simply great. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We would like to thank everyone again for everything and everyone who contributed to organizing our day. We were definitely not at the Bonner Hof for the last time.

Sehr zuvorkommender Service, leckeres Essen (auch für Vegetarier) in einem tollen Ambiente. Selbst auf eine Glutensensitivität wird umfangreich eingegangen. Mein Mann und ich hatten eine schönen Abend und können den Bonner Hof nur weiterempfehlen.

Ein ganz hervorragendes Restaurant in dem die Spanisch/Deutsche Küche neu interpretiert wird. Die wechselnde Karte, die super freundliche Bedienung und die herausragenden Gerichte machen diesen Laden unverzichtbar. Wir kommen gerne wieder! (Von den großen Portionen dürfen sich andere Restaurants im übrigen gerne etwas abschauen)

Perfektes Essen und erstklassiger Service

Unhöflicher, arroganter Kontakt - Fragen zum Menü wurden nur rudimentär beantwortet, weil „beim Bonner Hof eh Schlange gestanden wird“. Auch eine telefonische Reservierung wurde abgelehnt. Wir gehen dann lieber woanders essen.

Bestes lokal der Region...wir waren zum Silvester feiern dort und waren begeistert...super kompetentes und freundliches Personal ..das findet man sehr selten..aussergewöhnliche speisen... sehr zu empfehlen und für uns: immer wieder. Ein hoch auf die chefin, die sich so liebevoll um alles kümmert

Sehr enttäuschend. Essen war überhaupt nicht unser Fall, Kompositionen nicht stimmig, zudem serviert auf Kunststoffgeschirr. Wirkt nicht sehr hochwertig. Für vegetarische/ vegane Speisen muss nach einer separaten Karte gefragt werden, nicht zeitgemäß. Personal teils überfordert teils überheblich. Das Lokal möchte gerne mehr sein als es ist. Kenne viele deutlich bessere Restaurants in dem Preissegment. Schade.

Die vegetarische und vegane Auswahl ist ebenfalls sehr groß. Für Anlässe absolut zu empfehlen. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Gerne wieder.

Sehr gutes Restaurant das auch Vegetarier begeistern kann!

Wir haben dort einen wundervollen Geburtstagsabend verbracht. Nach einer sehr freundlichen, informativen Vorbesichtigung, einige Tage vor der Feier, haben wir uns dann dort getroffen, wurden herzlich vom Gastgeberteam in Empfang genommen und zum reservierten und gewünschten Tisch geleitet. Alles war perfekt vorbereitet . Der anschließende Service war äußerst bemüht, sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und stets umsichtig, mit Augenkontakt. Die Auswahl der Speisen war der Beginn eines schönen Abends. Sämtliche Bestellungen wurden fehlerfrei und gleichzeitig serviert. Die Speisen waren sämtlich von hoher Güte und wirklich sehr geschmackvoll. Es gibt keine Kritik, da wir regelrecht verwöhnt wurden. Menschlich und fachlich perfekt. Wir haben professionellen Service erlebt. Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter war nicht nur vorhanden, sondern ehrlich spürbar. Denen gebührt die Anerkennung. Aber auch die Speisen waren von hoher Güte. Es war uns eine Freude, dort einen sehr gelungenen Abend verbracht zu haben und möchten Sie unbedingt hiermit empfehlen !!!

Gestern haben wir unsere wunderschöne Hochzeit im Bonner Hof gefeiert und hatten einen wunderschönen Tag. Frau Matzke und ihr Team haben uns kulinarisch verwöhnt, uns liebevoll und herzlich durch den Tag begleitet, und viel dazu beigetragen, dass dieser Tag bei unseren Gästen und bei uns in wunderbarer Erinnerung bleibt! Absolute Herzens-Weiterempfehlung!

Der Bonner Hof ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Das Personal ist TOP und der Koch kocht leckeres Essen. Super ist die Vegane Karte, da macht sich jemand Gedanken! Komme gern wieder!

Sehr lecker und freundliches Personal!

Ein nettes Restaurant mit gemütlichem Ambiente, lockerer, flotter und freundlicher Bedienung, riesigen Portionen und durchschnittlichem Essen. Wir sind hierher mit etwas anderen Erwartungen gekommen. Es ging alles sehr hektisch zu. Mit dem Aperitiv kam eine Gemüsebrühe als Amuse Bouch und während die Suppentassen noch standen, bereits die sehr voluminöse Vorspeise. Die Hauptgänge wurden ebenfalls unerwartet schnell serviert. Meine Ente etwas, die Kalbsklöschen meiner Frau völlig trocken. Die Beilagen und Saucen passten bei beiden Gerichten nicht so recht. Angestrebte Crossoverküche, die aber unserer Meinung nach unharmonisch zusammengewürfelt war.

Disappointed with this restaurant, especially when at 08.57 they told us the kitchen will close in a few minutes. We hadn't even finished our main course, never mind think about ordering a sweet!

Stimmige Eleganz vereint mit wunderbarem Essen, geführt von einer beeindruckenden und sehr charmanten Persönlichkeit. Ein rundum stimmiges Gourmeterlebnis.

Dieses, von aussen unscheinbar aussehende Gastronomie, entpuppt sich nach dem Betreten als sensationelles Restaurant. Die liebe zum Detail bzgl. der Ausstattung, Das Personal, super zuvorkommend, nicht verklemmt und immer mit etwas Witz und das Essen….. na das ist so sensationell das es seines gleichen sucht. Wir waren mit 4 Personen Freitag den 09.09. vor Ort. Nachdem wir gezahlt und uns verabschiedet hatten, bot man uns an der Ausgangstür an, eine Tüte Gemischtes ( Weingummi etc. ) mit den favorisierten Süßigkeiten, zu füllen. Dies versetzte einen in die Kindheit zurück als man noch gemischte Tüten am Kiosk bekam. Alles im allen, hat dieser Besuch dazu beigetragen, dass wir einen gelungenen Abend hatten. Danke an alle Beteiligten und bis zum nächsten mal ;-)

Diese Restaurant ist absolut fantastisch! Ich hatte das Vergnügen, dort zu speisen und ich war begeistert. Das Essen war einfach unglaublich lecker, jedes Gericht war ein Geschmackserlebnis. Der Service war erstklassig - das Personal war freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. Das Restaurant war zudem sehr sauber und gemütlich. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wieder dorthin zu gehen und dieses großartige Essen erneut zu genießen. Klare 5 Sterne für dieses herausragende Restaurant!

Es war wie immer köstlich und der Service top. Obwohl die Küche eigentlich schon zu war, haben wir noch ein grandioses Dessert nach bereits vorherigen, sehr leckeren Gerichten bekommen. 5 Sterne für den Bonner Hof (meine Freundin aus Dubai sagte sogar, sie habe in ganz Europa noch nie so lecker gegessen wie dort).

Leider stark nachgelassen sowohl vom Service auch von der Qualität des Essens es ist nicht mit dem Standard vor Corona vergleichbar.

Super Service, nah an der Perfektion. Küche sehr gut mit ebenfalls exzellenten Service. Immer wieder.

Vom Service bis zur Dekoration und vor allem das Essen ist alles top. Ich gehe 2 mal pro Jahr dort essen und bin bis nicht enttäuscht worden.
