Absolutely delicious and affordable! The ever-changing lunch menus, paired with a cold beer, provide a massive boost of motivation for the workday ahead. I'd even say they serve the best naan in the region. The Dhai Puri appetizer is also highly recommended and very tasty!

Traditional Indian cuisine made with fresh ingredients. (No pre-made mush like you unfortunately get at many other Indian restaurants.) If you order "spicy," you'll get spicy. A wide selection, including vegan and vegetarian options. Delicious and highly recommended.

Excellent food here every single time! My personal favourites are Amritsari Kulcha, Sarson ka saag and the Mango lasso! The service and ambience are also outstanding! Highly recommend this place to all people who want to try good North Indian food 😊 Thank you for the consistent good food!! 🥰

The food was very good, 5 stars for that. However, since I couldn't finish my portion, I took the rest with me. I found the €2 packaging charge very cheeky. How does it work with takeaway? Do you have to pay for packaging then too? There were four of us, and we ate and drank, which I think is very unfair.

Anyone who has experienced authentic Indian cuisine in India will have a fantastic time here, enjoying wonderful dishes reminiscent of a trip to Delhi or Bangalore. Full marks for a restaurant that makes no concessions to European tastes, but serves authentic dishes that are a must-try.

For lunch, I always order the vegan thali with two different curries, rice, naan bread, and salad. They offer different curries each time, and I almost always find them delicious. The portions are generous enough to leave you feeling completely satisfied. Very friendly service! Highly recommended!

We were a party of four and went to Delhi for dinner. Service was quite prompt. The food was delicious and plentiful. The restaurant was also quite busy (we had made a reservation beforehand, which we recommend). The atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Authentic Indian food. Recommended! The food is great, the service top and welcoming. The home made pickles add to the food and experience. And Uncles personal touch completes the full experience. Always stop here when driving down/ up from Hamburg! And miss having such a restaurant in Hamburg.

We were there with the Schlemmerblock (a discount voucher booklet). If you can only use the Schlemmerblock, then only cash payment is possible – this isn't stated anywhere! We wanted to leave, but were then allowed to stay and pay by card. When the food was brought to the table, a spoon fell off the table onto our jacket, pants, and top. There was an apology, but no compensation was offered. The food was good. But the whole procedure was unpleasant, and we didn't feel welcome. Very loud, even when there were only a few people there.

The food was good, the prices were reasonable, but I missed a vegetable in my dish. Some renovations would be advisable, and even after a few years, the parking spaces are still labeled with the previous restaurant's name.

I was visiting here with my family on a road trip around Europe, Authentic Taste and Great Service! Delhi Restaurant in Erlangen is an absolute gem! The food is bursting with real Indian flavors — everything tasted fresh and perfectly spiced. The butter chicken and garlic naan were simply outstanding, and the biryani was full of rich aroma and flavor. The staff were warm, friendly, and always attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming — perfect for family dinners or casual nights out. Today, there were a lot of phone orders. The team gave their all to provide us guests with fresh, warming food, and in many different languages. It wasn't easy to coordinate all the different needs, but they mastered it with aplomb. Stay healthy, you and your team, and thank you for the warming food this winter.

Very good Dosa. Felt very authentic, compared to trips to south india recently. Very good price for value ratio. Not so crowded on a weekday.

Definitely recommended. The selection of dishes is very large. Everything is fresh and delicious. It's a fairly small restaurant with Indian decor. You can make a reservation in the back for a slightly larger group.

The food was delicious for us (6 people). It deserves 5 stars. The music was much too loud for a restaurant. We were there for about 3.5 hours. During that time, the restaurant owner never once asked if we wanted anything else. All the glasses were empty, and we had to call him to refill them. Empty bottles were loudly stacked in crates. And last but not least, we had to come to the bar to pay. It's a shame; that's not customer-oriented behavior for a restaurant owner.

Very delicious, authentic food. The ambiance is fantastic, and the service is always exceptionally friendly. The value for money is absolutely spot on. I've been here several times and always enjoy returning – a definite recommendation!

We had a delicious Indian meal. It was our first time eating at an Indian restaurant, and we really enjoyed it. With a little help, we chose two chicken dishes, and they were excellent. We also had garlic bread and a salad. Definitely worth repeating.

Tasted good, but not recommended for the price. It was a really small portion, and for €10.90 on the lunch menu, it was far too expensive. What a shame.

I used to order often but I felt like the food had become a bit boring in terms of spices.

You have to try garlic bread, chicken curry, and tomato soup these are very delicious. Don't try yoghurt if you are not familiar with indian drinks 🙂

Updated review: Sarson Ka saag and Hara bara tikki chaat was amazing today! Original: Chole Bature and Amritsari Kulcha were excellent! The owner uncle is super friendly and always very attentive, and the service is really good despite the busy and packed restaurant! The atmosphere is also very authentic. Overall this is really good restaurant!!

I had driven past here many times, and now I finally had the opportunity to go in for lunch. I wasn't disappointed, wonderful atmosphere and lots of great dishes on the menu, I chose one of the lamb lunch dishes. The taste was extremely good and served quickly. I also received very friendly service and will definitely stop by more often in the future.

Quickly for lunch. I thought it was very good value for money! The naan bread was also great, which is how I often judge Indian restaurants.

Unfortunately, today our food only arrived after two hours without an apology...the driver apparently couldn't find us😤we called there several times and our ☎was known😟a shame. New experience this evening: impudent and insulting to pay in cash only because of a voucher book, he would have to give us a meal for free, it's voluntary as far as I know then no service only when asked when billing 5 € fee required don't want to give out an invoice and then everything is billed in full our complaint and complained about the difference, which was really crazy!!!

One of the most underrated and unfairly reviewed Indian restaurants in Erlangen. Yes the inside might need some renovation but the food is just amazing.

The best Indian I know. A very large selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The boss is very nice and attentive. I'm looking forward to next time.

Masala Dosa of this place is awesome. Papadi chat was the perfect starters. Chana bhatura and shahi paner with garlic naan is the best item of Indian dish had in Germany. People come from nearby cities and countries to have food here. And mango lassi is so yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!

Delhi is a traditionally furnished restaurant whose owner is extremely friendly towards the guests and serves food neither too early nor too late. The selection is great. The food tasted fresh and was great in terms of taste. Will come often!

Great food, a shame that their English was very limited

The food is really delicious and the portions are a good size, at what I think is a very good price. The Coconut Lassi is highly recommended, as is the Garlic Nan! Since the outside area is right on the street, I find the traffic a bit annoying. The interior, on the other hand, is very nicely decorated and suitable.

There is an urgent need for cleaning here, the window sills and windows are not attractive, and there is dirt piled up on the lamps. Food being served in a metallic-looking food bowl tray is not an option for me personally. The fact that it was clapped at my counterpart, well, no one needs it. Quality of the food was below average. A lot of things weren't really warm or hot. This works much better in Indian cuisine. We were very disappointed and perhaps made too many comparisons to really good Indian cuisines. Price-performance ratio too expensive for what is offered. Parking is a matter of luck. We didn't have access to toilets, so we couldn't rate them. As of: 2024

The curry is delicious and the lunch is great

There is such a huge vegan selection that I simply had to order four dishes (three starters and one main course) because I couldn't decide. =) Everything tasted really, really delicious and the service was also very loving and courteous! Great spot for vegans in Erlangen!

Clear recommendation! If I am reincarnated as Mango in the next life, I hope that I will be processed into Mango Chicken at Delhi!!! At Delhi you definitely get the most flavorful mango chicken in all of Erlangen! We have never been disappointed with the service in the store during our visits, and taking away has always worked. I would love to eat there every day. No joke, give the store a chance! 😀

It tasted very good, very nice service, great best restaurant in Erlangen

We visited yesterday for dinner with my family. We ordered dosa chhole bhature vadapav and idli sambhar. Everything was pathetic. I called restaurant before going to check whether they serve southindian food for dinner owner said yes it's available. When we went they gave me masala dosa with potato chana masala stuff and sambhar loaded with frozen veg with some random gravy base coconut chutney was not even eatable. some random butter masala gravy toped with chhole they serve as chhole bhature. And owner can see on our face that we don't like anything here but he didn't even acknowledge it and handover the bill. Will never go there.. such a shame. Yes they changed dosa but still it was pathetic we ate because we were hungry and obviously we had to pay 41, euros for that.

I have put order through Ubereats, Food got delivered in 20 -30 minutes but the order was wrong, when I call the restaurant, the person told me that you have to pick it up your order or I will drop by 2 PM. But then I send someone to pick up the order, I got the food , which was so Pathetic No Taste, cold. Onion Naan was Like I am eating only Maida. I ordered Chicken Tikka, and I got colourd boiled chicken pieces with salad leaves. No taste no Masala. Very Pathetic Service. I will never ever visit this restaurant or order any Food. Waste of Money ....

Food almost no seasoning - you probably have to order extra - service below average, for example the table wasn't wiped down after the meal even though he saw it, from 8 p.m. families with small children came - totally loud - like in a canteen, a nice evening for two is not possible! We were asked to pay at the counter! Are you crazy ? And €33 per person vegetarian! No.

Visited for Dinner on Friday evening and order basic food as Dosa, Idly, vada pav. Horrible food, worst ever. Never ever going to visit again. My recommendation is to avoid .

Total hyped. I love Indian food and have been to many restaurants, but the naan is simply amazing. Just the right mix of crunchy and soft and buttery. The food also came super quickly.

I had a vegan biryani that was on the menu with fresh vegetables, but unfortunately only the onions and a few peppers were fresh. Otherwise it tasted good. A friend had a paneer dish and was very satisfied! Service was good, food came quickly and large portions! Good experience overall!

The owner can be a bit more polite to the customers/ guests. Some remarks were quite off-putting and could have been expressed in a more courteous way. Food is subpar.

No own parking spaces, nice atmosphere but a bit cramped (wheelchair users and strollers would have problems), food good, service very good.

Authentic Indian taste. Just ask the cook to have more Indian style and he will serve as you describe. Paneer kebab role was not that good. But yeah next time when you visit first taste it and then can return to make more tadtier or spicy, this was the polite advice by the owner
