Beautiful restaurant, child-friendly service and super delicious food! Only recommended!

I would give 3.5 stars - Quaint Italian restaurant that is a bit noisy when the restaurant is full due to the narrow table arrangement. We ordered pizza & pasta. The pizzas were delicious and generously topped. The pasta was a large portion, but there was a bit too much pepper on the carbonara. And we had to wait a relatively long time until the food was served - plus point: we were able to eat at the same time. The drink prices are slightly higher. Service was friendly and was regularly at our table to ask if we would like to order anything else. It was a bit too narrow for us in the restaurant & the noise level was very high (for us personally).

Italienische Küche auf gutem Niveau. Leider war ein Gericht nur außen auf Temperatur und innen kalt. Wurde aber auf Nachfrage beim Service zügig behoben. Das Ambiente ist nett, allerdings ist eine Unterhaltung schwierig, wenn der Gastraum voll ist. Die Preise sind ortsüblich. Wir haben für eine Flasche Wasser, Softdrink, Espresso, 2 Vor- und Hauptspeisen rund 60 Euro gezahlt.

Italian cuisine at a good level. Unfortunately one dish was only at temperature on the outside and cold on the inside. But it was quickly remedied when we asked service. The ambience is nice, but conversation is difficult when the dining room is full. The prices are local. We paid around 60 euros for a bottle of water, soft drink, espresso, 2 starters and main courses.

My mother's bolognese is better. And the pizza wasn't anything special either. Cocktails were served in plastic cups

We had our company Christmas party in this restaurant. The food was really excellent and the service was very accommodating. Unfortunately the private room was definitely too small. Perhaps this was due to a failed communication between the restaurant and the organizer of the Christmas party. I can still highly recommend the restaurant!

Was eating with my partner, the cutlery is in the bucket with napkins which is unhygienic, the food itself with the Bolognese was more meat than pasta and not even basil which is normal, my partner took a pizza but it wasn't like in a pizzeria and It was thin and didn't fit properly in the oven because it was soggy, the seating space was uncomfortable and very narrow and you couldn't sit properly

Very harmonious, very cozy restaurant despite the high ceilings. Good pizzas and not just the standard pasta. The Campari Sprizz was well mixed. Nice service. Easily accessible by public.

We are really huge fans of italian cuisine and this place was so magic, great sicilian pasta, nice interior with so many italian pictures, nice staff....absolutely perfect choice.

I came here spontaneously with the family and felt cozy, even though the room is very large. The service is very courteous and, for me, not fake Italian, but authentic. You have to like that too. ;-)

Good tasting food at reasonable prices, quick, friendly service, clean toilets. Cozy atmosphere but unfortunately the music is too loud with sometimes unpleasant and unsuitable bass (unfavorably adjusted?). Although only a few tables were occupied, it was very loud due to the high ceilings. Bruschetta with parmesan shavings prepared differently/unusually, i.e. without olive oil, instead with crema balsamic vinegar and rather cold instead of warm tomato pieces.

Located directly on Hanauer Landstrasse. At the back with access to Lindleystrasse where you can easily get a parking space for a fee. There is a quiet outdoor area for dining. This can also be closed. I usually find it too loud inside. The structure of the restaurant is such that when there is a lot going on - and it often is - the room gets very loud, which I often find unpleasant. The service rarely convinces me in terms of friendliness. I've never felt so welcome. There are quite a few waiters working there, which is why my criticism certainly doesn't apply to everyone. Due to the sometimes very high number of visitors, it can sometimes take a while to get the food. If you only have 30 minutes at lunchtime, this is the wrong place for you. I think the food itself is quite good. Where I also like pizza better elsewhere. But I was never dissatisfied. I think the Caesar salad is very tasty. Quite normal price for the corner. Generally speaking, prices are somewhat high.

I have now attended 2 Christmas parties in this restaurant and was disappointed both times. The owner fills the already large restaurant to capacity and doesn't have enough staff to keep up. At the first celebration, there was a massive delay in the distribution of food at every table, so that almost no one could eat at the same time. What was brought to me as vegan alternatives was also really low level and didn't leave a positive impression. At the second celebration a few days ago, we sat in the next room, which was only covered by plastic sheeting. Heating was done with a few patio heaters, which did not create a pleasant room climate at all. You could barely stand it directly under one of the mushrooms, although your head was almost burning, but your feet were ice cold. Some of the rest were very cold, especially those who sat with their backs directly against the tarpaulin. A ventilation concept for the gas-powered patio heaters was also missing. The seating consisted of very tightly placed beer tent sets. Overall, it was all far too narrow and uncomfortable. When we still didn't have more than 2 empty bottles of water for 9 people at our table after 1.5 hours, despite ordering/requesting (drinks) several times, we quickly decided - also with the experience of the first celebration there - to to look for another location. What can I say? We had a fantastic evening afterwards, with comfortable seats, attentive service and great food - just somewhere else. While we were already full and chatting contentedly, the other colleagues were still waiting for the food to be distributed some time later. My colleague wrote to me: "But at least the drinks I ordered have now arrived. 😅"

Not your typical pizzeria atmosphere. It's in the old Union Bräu building. So more of a brewery hall. But in Italo style...very interesting! Italian service - nice but not intrusive! The pizza is (for my taste) one of the best in town. Clear recommendation! Reservation recommended!

Very tasty, a bit loud but understandable due to the many people. Definitely reserve!

I always visit this restaurant when I'm in Frankfurt. I've tried several dishes on the menu and none of them have disappointed me. The food here is very good and made with quality ingredients. My only criticism is the bartender, besides the terrible service, he doesn't know how to make cocktails. So I don't recommend wasting your money on cocktails. opt for the safer option that is beer or soda. The cocktails are poorly prepared and the bartender is rude!

Authentic Italian restaurant with excellent cuisine. One of the few restaurants that offer traditional spaghetti carbonara without cream. Pleasant atmosphere, stylishly furnished. The countless photos on the walls invite you to look at them. Friendly staff and good service.

A very cozy, simple pizzeria with flair and very friendly service. The pizzas taste very good (had the vegetarian Verdura) and the prices are relatively cheap. Always happy to come back.

Limited bar. Focus is "typical" Italian food which is good. In that area the Italian place to go for a quick diner with friends or business partners.

The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service was ok, one person was forgotten and then received twice. A re-ordered appetizer arrived after the second reminder. It's all very tight. People sit so close together that several people have to get up if one person wants to get out. The facility has seen its best years.

Delicious pizza, just as you would imagine at an Italian restaurant. The map is quite limited, but it suggests that they have specialized. The interior is almost like a pub. Everything is relatively dark, clad in wood and is getting old and all the walls are full of pictures etc. You sit somewhat exposed in the middle of the room. Gladly again.

We could just reserve a table online and we had a delicious dinner. Our dog immediately got a water bowl. :D We'll be back. Thank you.

Were there for a strange night. It was quite funny. But to the restaurant It's a very nice, rustic Italian restaurant. The food is very tasty and the service is also very good. We'll definitely come back again.

Nice atmosphere and very good food

“Life Is Beautiful” is a really cozy restaurant, perfect for a relaxed lunch or a small bite in between. The dishes are delicious and down-to-earth - maybe nothing fancy, but just right when you just need a pleasant break. The atmosphere is relaxed and invites you to linger. Will definitely come back when I'm nearby!

I had a pizza that was piled high with arugula, it was impossible to eat it, it just tasted like arugula. Service Top.

Food is nothing special. Service was ok. We are very badly found how to go to the back area. There is hardly any space between the tables to walk through. I don't think I would visit again.

The restaurant offers a lot of pizza and pasta that it can be difficult to decide, but I can recommend the tagliatelle with wild boar ragout - they were really delicious, so the portion could have been even bigger! Drink selection is good and our service was very funny and charismatic, that's what makes it fun :)

Very rustic but cozy authentic Italian restaurant. Delicious food, friendly service. Italian flair with lots of photos on the walls and Italian film posters in the hallways. Highly recommended!

Ciro and Cosimo were not only good but also super nice. Really kind-hearted guys, finally a pleasant and sincere chat between exchanges of points of view and lots of laughter. Between Italian, German and various dialects we ate two nice pizzas and some bitters as well as some excellent espresso martinis! If I ever find myself in Frankfurt I will definitely come back!

Nothing has changed here for years - in a positive sense. The food is very good and the service is unobtrusively attentive. We would love to come back.

Very nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the food is not. When we told the waitress honestly, he didn't let us finish and walked away. After we gave little tip because of this, the waiter complained about it to his colleague barely a meter away from us - sorry, but that's not possible in front of guests!

I would call it standard. It doesn't taste exceptional. The portions are small. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right. You have to like the catering service, typically a bit hasty and cheeky but not disrespectful. Very stylish inside with the 100s of pictures, nothing special outside.

We haven't been there for a long time and yesterday's visit was certainly the last. As a starter we had a Caesar salad. This really had nothing to do with a real Caesar salad. The dressing was a ready-made product and super thick. This was simply dumped on a green salad. The pizzas were ok but definitely nothing special, so you have to go there again. There are definitely better and tastier pizza shops around. The service was friendly.

Nicely decorated, large restaurant with an outdoor area, great selection of pasta and pizza dishes - but the waiting time is very long, even though the restaurant wasn't full. We first had a starter (carpaccio, delicious), which came quickly. The pasta then took about 45 minutes to arrive. On the one hand, the service wanted to give us time for the starter, but on the other hand, we had clearly already finished it and sat around hungry for a long time. Too bad. Nevertheless, I would come back and maybe ask for the main course earlier. We paid just under €55 for 1x carpaccio (delicious!), 1x pizza bread, 2x pasta (Caserecce all' amatriciana - delicious and also very spicy and Penne Siciliane - unexpectedly delicious, smoky tomato sauce). The only bad thing was that my pasta was extremely hot and my partner's had already cooled down.

The food was delicious. The ambience is great and the waitresses were all committed and super friendly. What I found unfortunate, however, is that the truffle pasta is only served with truffle oil and not real truffles. That's what it says on the menu, so I knew that from the start. But it would be the icing on the cake! The bruscetta was to die for!

Unfortunately, an unsuccessful evening. The service today was subpar, apart from the fact that two meals were forgotten and then it took a long time until it came. We weren't asked once if we wanted something to drink. We always had to let us know and then twice because that was also forgotten. The truffle pasta was more like pasta in butter with parmesan but the pizza was super tasty. Unfortunately, no one asked whether it tasted good or whether everything was good. The ambience is great. Unfortunately, the men's toilets were dirty and the entire floor of the squat toilets was wet.

Everything about this place is absolutely perfect. It is definitely not expensive. You can't get better Italian food anywhere in Frankfurt. Drinks are also very delicious. I highly recommend Rigatoni Boscaiola. If you want to understand how good this place is, go to L'Ostria in the beginning of the same street and have the same food and see the difference.

Very lovely place to enjoy some Italian food. The service is friendly and very accommodating! We enjoyed and can recommend the fresh salads beforehand, as well as the truffle pasta, spaghetti with prawns, and ragú pasta. The place has many pictures on the walls which gives it a cosy vibe.

The food was very tasty. A small negative point is that our group's food and drinks arrived at the table with a delay, but this was due to the fact that the restaurant was very busy and is therefore understandable.

Das Leben ist schön - ist bereits eine feste Institution in Frankfurt. Es ist der Place to be für alle, die bestes italienisches Essen genießen möchten. Die Atmosphäre ist einladend und das Personal immer freundlich und aufmerksam. Jeder Besuch ist ein Genuss für die Sinne und eine wahre kulinarische Reise nach Italien. Absolut empfehlenswert!

So the Italian version Carbonara as it says on the menu was bad on a scale of one to ten it was a 2.6 The bruschetta was a three out of ten The tiramisu was a good 6.5 out of ten

Friendly, tasty and worth a visit.

We have eaten here several times now. Whether it's lunch or dinner, the service is always super friendly and the food comes quickly! You can also eat a great salad here and the tiramisu is especially delicious!! We'll definitely come back :)

Look the food is great and have eaten here many times but when you ask 6,9 EURO's for a minestrone soup and all it is, is a tiny bit of water with 3 small pieces of carrots in, it is better to take it off the menu... We are Italian restaurateurs ourselves and were on the move, which is why we spontaneously decided to have lunch here after the many positive reviews. My father ordered the Italian Carbonara version, which is prepared without cream. The dish came prepared with a whole egg. It was scrambled eggs with bacon and spaghetti. Note for readers: Only the egg yolk goes into an original carbonara. Even if there is no bacon in a carbonara, we won't complain about it here, as it was, to be fair, mentioned in the menu. My father asked the short-haired waitress if the chef was Italian. She replied "Yes" and turned around and left while my father continued to politely talk to her. She didn't respond or stop or come back to our table. No go! My mother ordered an appetizer plate. This came with artichokes and black pitted olives, which you would normally only find on an inferior pizza, raw, carelessly cut green peppers, fried champions, only 1 slice each of vitello tonnato, coppa, salami. Mysteriously, there were also lemon seeds on the plate, which didn't come from the tonnato. The antipasti plate wasn't seasoned and unfortunately we couldn't ask for an olier because the waitress disappeared completely. The bread that was served with this was from the day before. No go! My friend ordered a tuna and red onion pizza. The only thing where apparently not much can be done wrong. I had a pappardelle with wild boar ragù. Unfortunately, the noodles were extremely soft and not from the same day. In terms of taste, the ragù was edible. To clear the table, the lady came to the table and asked if everything was okay. My father said that he was unfortunately disappointed with the spaghetti. Here, too, there was no demand from the waitress, which meant something was wrong with the food. She simply replied with a fake smile that she would tell the kitchen. When we got to the kitchen we heard loud complaining. There was also no demand from the chef at our table. No go! Finally, we politely called the lady “sorry” to ask for the bill. She didn't look at us, but continued to look at something behind the bar. We were sitting right next to the bar, so she couldn't miss us! So we kept talking and ultimately politely asked for the bill. Again she answers “Yes”. Her gaze was still tilted downwards. No eye contact at all. No go! Did the team have a bad day? I don't know! However, the restaurant only had 3 tables with us at the time. So you can't speak of stress during peak times, but you can speak of dishes that have already been prepared so that guests can be processed quickly during peak times. Unfortunately, quality and taste are completely lost. Where are all the Italians where you can enjoy your meal at the table like Mom and Nonna?

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Frankfurt! Super delicious, freshly prepared food in an exceptional location. The friendly, courteous staff is magical!

Wir sind hier öfters geschäftlich am essen. Die antipasti Platte ist göttlich, und der Service ist wirklich immer sehr bemüht auch wenn wir wirklich viele Leute waren. Der wolfsbarsch war überraschend gut und auch die pasta Platte war super lecker.

I ate the Fiocchi formaggio e pere. Unfortunately the dough wasn't that fresh and some fiocchi were half cold. However, the atmosphere in the restaurant is good and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall a mixed experience.

In Life is Beautiful, the food is delicious too! The bruschetta are really delicious. The pasta dishes were really good and ok for the price.

Delicious pizza in a cool Italian atmosphere. The pizza is a great size. Not too small and not too big. The service is attentive and relatively quick. We thought it was a shame to pay extra for some garlic oil for the pizza. Something like that shouldn't be the case. There is also no bread or olives in front. That could be improved. We still like to come every now and then for a delicious pizza and a wine.

Accueil excellent. Le personnel est plus qu’accueillant, souriant et très polyvalent. La cuisine est bonne, italienne. Les pizzas, les pâtes, les gnocchis mais surtout la bruschetta sont très satisfaisant. Un plaisir de dîner dans cet endroit chaleureux à la décoration atypique et à l’ambiance conviviale.

As a group of 10 people, we came hungry to eat at Alex after a seminar without a reservation. We were immediately given a warm welcome, the waiter was very friendly, the food was great for everyone and the atmosphere was extremely pleasant. Life is Beautiful is a highly recommended restaurant, with something for every palate.

Es passt mal wieder alles, schnelle Bedienung, freundliche Ansprache, gute Preise. Kein Geschwurbel und kein Geschwätz…. so, kann Gastro auf der Union sein und bleiben. Hervorragend…..

The pizza was delicious and baked perfectly, just the way I like it! Beforehand, I enjoyed a refreshing Aperol Spritz, which was the perfect introduction to the meal. The service was exceptionally attentive and friendly. An all-round successful lunch

...but it wasn't the food. You can eat good and bad pizza in Ffm - here it was pretty bad, my son and I felt bad about it during and after the meal. No recommendation for eating pizza!

Lively Italian restaurant with a rustic atmosphere and numerous pictures spread across the walls of the interior. The atmosphere seems very harmonious. The food is quite varied and of good quality at a fair price. The service is also very quick, friendly and accommodating. Recommended!

Chicly furnished, very cozy location! As of this review, it was my fourth visit there. Unfortunately, it is noticeable that the staff and service take a very long time to take orders/food. Things were different in fall 2022/spring 2023. However, the food is great and tastes just like a real Italian restaurant. ;) We'd love to come back!
