This was my second visit, and once again, the food was delicious. We received prompt and friendly service, and sometimes you can best judge a restaurant's quality by its "standard" dishes. The spaghetti carbonara was absolutely divine. The dining room is beautifully decorated with hundreds of pictures on the walls and a bar that looks like it belongs in a movie theater. However, due to the size of the room, it's quite noisy. Because it was so busy, we sat in the "winter garden" this time. It was significantly quieter there, and thanks to the patio heaters, it was even comfortable in November. The heaters were a bit harsh on your ears if you sat close to them. Additionally, the benches outside didn't have backrests. Nevertheless, if you're in Frankfurt's east end and get a craving for great pizza and pasta, this is the place to go.

Excellent service! The food was good, but the pasta (penne) probably wasn't homemade. The atmosphere is cozy and lively.

We had reserved a table for two in advance, but when we arrived, our reservation seemed to have been lost. We were given a table at the food counter, where the waiters were talking very loudly. After asking, we were able to move, but the waiters were a bit sneered at us. We had classic spaghetti bolognese and carbonara, which was absolutely delicious.

A truly fantastic restaurant. The staff are exceptionally dedicated. They strive to give their guests the best possible evening. Highly recommended.

Delicious Italian restaurant. It’s small but they fit alot of seats inside. We all had different pastas which were great, they came out pretty fast considering how busy it was. Prices ranged from €11-20 about. Desserts were great and service was amazing!

Nice place, but it was soooo loud. It was very stressful. Maybe we should put something on the ceiling as soundproofing. When you get there, you almost fall over at the first table. The poor guests who have to sit there. It was very crowded and busy. We couldn't order more drinks for ages. It was a small birthday party, and unfortunately, the small cake we ordered was forgotten.

The pizza was GREAT. The pricing needs to be reconsidered. I was simply charged for a bottle of water because someone in my group had ordered 8 bottles of water. So I was simply charged for a bottle of water because the item was still open. Very cool... I ordered a pizza with chili powder on it. They said there was no chili powder, just oil with chili. It was NOTHING spicy at all, and they charged extra for it. A total rip-off. Furthermore, the service staff were completely unfriendly and slightly aggressive. I wouldn't eat here again.

It's a cozy, not particularly large place. The service is quick, fun, and friendly, and the food doesn't take long to arrive. 👍 The price/quality ratio is absolutely fair. The taste is top-notch. 👍

Very disappointed, both with the food and the service. I ordered a panzanella salad, a bread salad. What was served was roughly chopped ox heart, underripe and cold. Along with raw onion and some green bell pepper. The baguette/bread was diced and added untoasted. The result: it was pretty muddy from the oil and vinegar. Very unloving and very unoriginal. I politely approached the waiter and asked why they couldn't at least toast the bread. As you can read in all the recipes I know. The answer: They couldn't toast the bread separately for each guest. If I wanted toasted and warm bread, I should order pizza bread and salad next time. That was inappropriate and rude. Also a complete failure: The espresso martini I ordered came in a plastic martini glass. Absolutely unacceptable. I'm only giving the two stars for the dessert. The panna cotta was very good.

The pizzas were very good, but the service was rather poor (very long wait times, 30 minutes for the bill).

Admittedly, I expected more from Life is Beautiful. The food would have more flavor and an eye for the food served. With more love.

Lovely restaurant, the outdoor seating is incredibly nice! Service was a bit slow, but that doesn't bother me personally. Everyone was very nice, which is more important. There were two of us and we started with the bruschetta. It was just okay. I found the bread very cheap, and it was toasted black around the edges. The tomatoes were of excellent quality. Very aromatic. For the main course, we both had pasta. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me. If I get completely overcooked pasta without any bite at an Italian restaurant, that's an absolute no-go. It was horrible to eat, and in retrospect, I'm annoyed that I didn't send it back. The ragu on my pasta was great, as was my companion's sauce, but the pasta on both plates (different varieties!) was simply a disaster. I wouldn't go back without trying something else. The rest of the food must be good, though; otherwise, I can't explain the high rating on Google. It's a shame, I was so looking forward to the visit.

Die Pizza ist absolut zu empfehlen - der Rest leider nur gut und auch nichts Besonderes. Würde mich Mal wieder über frische Pasta freuen, aber auch hier leider kein Glück. Das Gemüse war frisch, der Service nett (wirkte jedoch recht gehetzt obwohl nichts los war), Tische könnten eine Grundreinigung benötigen und das Interieur ist sehr gemütlich gestaltet

Everything is perfect! The food is excellent, the rooms are spacious and very stylish and classic. Super friendly staff. Prices are absolutely reasonable. No visit to Frankfurt is complete without dining here at least once!

The restaurant itself is really nice. It's very beautifully decorated, there's plenty of space and the terrace is lovely. However the Italian style carbonara was a total failure. They have carbonara with cream and Italian style carbonara in the menu I went for Italian style and the egg was curdled. It was basically spaghetti with scrambled eggs.

A very pleasant and delicious evening at 'Life is Beautiful'. We were a large group, and the friendly staff had everything under control. Special requests were fulfilled without comment, and we all felt very comfortable. Individual bills were no problem at all. Card payments are accepted, of course. Great service & delicious food = Highly recommended!

I've eaten at this restaurant several times now. The food is generally good, but what I experienced recently was something I'd never experienced before. I ordered penne arrabiata and asked for it to be prepared spicy. I was told that this dish is always spicy. So far, so good. When the pasta was served, however, I realized it had hardly any spice at all—basically, it was just penne with tomato sauce. That's not a big deal in itself; it's better to have it too mild than unbearably spicy. So I asked for some chili oil to season it, which was brought to me. The surprise came with the bill: The chili oil was charged extra. When I asked, I was told that all extras are billed separately. Even my suggestion that I had asked for it to be prepared spicy from the start was dismissed with the comment that it would have had to be charged extra anyway. Even the objection that penne arrabiata is usually served spicy fell on deaf ears. It's often the little things that shape the overall impression—and in this case, unfortunately, it leaves a negative one. I will therefore avoid this restaurant for the time being.

The insalata mista was good, and the small portion was enough as a side salad for two. The bread served with it was delicious. We were disappointed by the Italian-style carbonara without cream; the eggs were curdled and seemed more like scrambled eggs. I've usually had creamier carbonara. The portions are very large overall; one main course is definitely enough to fill you up. The two of us paid around €30 for two dishes, a salad, and a drink.

Unfriendly staff, sticky tables, and lots of flies in the room. You can barely eat because of all the flies. Brought the wrong drinks and unwilling to rectify the mistake.

Enttäuschend. Tische klebrig, müssten mal sauber gewischt werden. Man kommt kaum zum Essen so viele Fliegen sind innen im Raum. Falsche Getränke gebracht und nicht bereit umzutauschen, hab ich so noch nie erlebt, und dann wird man vom Personal noch beleidigt. Nein danke, nie wieder.

Great restaurant with delicious pizza and pasta at a reasonable price. We ordered a pizza "Margarita" and a dish from the daily menu - everything was very tasty! We especially liked the salad with aromatic dressing. If you are nearby - be sure to stop by, this place is worth a visit.

Very friendly staff and the food was delicious.

We were allowed to drop in spontaneously with nine people after a circus performance. The entire service was fun and friendly, especially to the children. The ambiance is truly wonderful and invites you to look around. The wait was short, even though the restaurant was busy, and the prices were really reasonable. The salad and pizza were delicious, but the pasta dishes topped everything. The tastiest dish was the pasta with spinach and ricotta; the pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was a dream. The desserts and coffee were also delicious. If we lived in Frankfurt, we would definitely become regulars. Thank you for this warm and culinary experience :)

A great place to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine. The service is friendly and very attentive! We really enjoyed it and can confidently recommend the fresh salads, truffle pasta, spaghetti with shrimps and pasta with ragout - everything was top notch. The cozy atmosphere is complemented by numerous paintings on the walls, giving the place a special charm.

The pizza was dry, and the edges were dark and completely cracked. The pizza was more air than topping. The service and drinks were excellent.

It should actually be called "La Vida es bella", but I think it's brilliant that it's in German. But even more brilliant is the very tasty food and the friendly, good service, always ready for a joke. The restaurant is very cozy and I really enjoy going there. By the way, a great pizza 🍕

So at first the impression was very good because I know the shop, but when I ordered my food and got my pizza I was shocked at first, it looked like it was thrown away, there was too little topping, there were almost no mushrooms on it and the dough was like a limp rag when I picked up the pizza. I was totally shocked for that price and I'll probably never go out for pizza again because it was so bad, so for just under €13 you can charge a lot more for the pasta dish What was also ordered for my partner was okay, but the portion was a bit too small. So not necessarily recommended if you want to go out to eat.

The food was very good! The ambience was a little disturbed by loud noises from the neighboring table as we were sitting very closely, sometimes at the same table. Even though it was very busy, the service took a long time.

As a starter we enjoyed a delicious bruschetta and an excellent vitello tonato. The main course - a pizza with spicy salami and peppers - was perfectly baked and tasted excellent. We also chose a Pinot Gris that went perfectly with the aromas. The cozy ambience and attentive service rounded off the experience perfectly. We would love to come back!

I think the store is brilliant and have been for 15 years. The Pizza Briatore or the tomato salad, simply delicious!

I was in the mood for pasta and they recommended this place to me. It can be reached easily by tram, bike or by taking a walk from the river. When you entered the premises, the first thing that caught your attention was without the photos. Black and white color photos throughout. There are also large blackboards and Italian newspapers on the bar. The decoration is cozy with wooden tables and chairs in the style of some bar in an Italian town. I would say that I found the chairs somewhat uncomfortable to sit in for a long time. The letter seemed tempting. We decided to order a varied antipasti. It was delicious but nothing to write home about. I didn't like the bread that accompanied it very much. Then we ordered pasta and lasagna. The pasta was good, but the lasagna was very tasty. The white wine they recommended to us was delicious. We couldn't leave the place without ordering a tiramisu. And we were somewhat disappointed. The coffee or mascarpone cheese was not very noticeable, it seemed more like cream. The service was fast and the food arrived without having to wait long, plus it was Wednesday and it was not very busy. Until this moment the waiters who served us were very pleasant. When paying, according to the waiter I didn't tip him enough and he showed me this in a not very pleasant way. That really put a damper on the night somewhat. So I can recommend the place for the food and the atmosphere but definitely not for the behavior of the waiter.

I would give 3.5 stars - Quaint Italian restaurant that is a bit noisy when the restaurant is full due to the narrow table arrangement. We ordered pizza & pasta. The pizzas were delicious and generously topped. The pasta was a large portion, but there was a bit too much pepper on the carbonara. And we had to wait a relatively long time until the food was served - plus point: we were able to eat at the same time. The drink prices are slightly higher. Service was friendly and was regularly at our table to ask if we would like to order anything else. It was a bit too narrow for us in the restaurant & the noise level was very high (for us personally).

Italienische Küche auf gutem Niveau. Leider war ein Gericht nur außen auf Temperatur und innen kalt. Wurde aber auf Nachfrage beim Service zügig behoben. Das Ambiente ist nett, allerdings ist eine Unterhaltung schwierig, wenn der Gastraum voll ist. Die Preise sind ortsüblich. Wir haben für eine Flasche Wasser, Softdrink, Espresso, 2 Vor- und Hauptspeisen rund 60 Euro gezahlt.

Italian cuisine at a good level. Unfortunately one dish was only at temperature on the outside and cold on the inside. But it was quickly remedied when we asked service. The ambience is nice, but conversation is difficult when the dining room is full. The prices are local. We paid around 60 euros for a bottle of water, soft drink, espresso, 2 starters and main courses.

We had our company Christmas party in this restaurant. The food was really excellent and the service was very accommodating. Unfortunately the private room was definitely too small. Perhaps this was due to a failed communication between the restaurant and the organizer of the Christmas party. I can still highly recommend the restaurant!

Was eating with my partner, the cutlery is in the bucket with napkins which is unhygienic, the food itself with the Bolognese was more meat than pasta and not even basil which is normal, my partner took a pizza but it wasn't like in a pizzeria and It was thin and didn't fit properly in the oven because it was soggy, the seating space was uncomfortable and very narrow and you couldn't sit properly

I came here spontaneously with the family and felt cozy, even though the room is very large. The service is very courteous and, for me, not fake Italian, but authentic. You have to like that too. ;-)

Good tasting food at reasonable prices, quick, friendly service, clean toilets. Cozy atmosphere but unfortunately the music is too loud with sometimes unpleasant and unsuitable bass (unfavorably adjusted?). Although only a few tables were occupied, it was very loud due to the high ceilings. Bruschetta with parmesan shavings prepared differently/unusually, i.e. without olive oil, instead with crema balsamic vinegar and rather cold instead of warm tomato pieces.

Located directly on Hanauer Landstrasse. At the back with access to Lindleystrasse where you can easily get a parking space for a fee. There is a quiet outdoor area for dining. This can also be closed. I usually find it too loud inside. The structure of the restaurant is such that when there is a lot going on - and it often is - the room gets very loud, which I often find unpleasant. The service rarely convinces me in terms of friendliness. I've never felt so welcome. There are quite a few waiters working there, which is why my criticism certainly doesn't apply to everyone. Due to the sometimes very high number of visitors, it can sometimes take a while to get the food. If you only have 30 minutes at lunchtime, this is the wrong place for you. I think the food itself is quite good. Where I also like pizza better elsewhere. But I was never dissatisfied. I think the Caesar salad is very tasty. Quite normal price for the corner. Generally speaking, prices are somewhat high.

I have now attended 2 Christmas parties in this restaurant and was disappointed both times. The owner fills the already large restaurant to capacity and doesn't have enough staff to keep up. At the first celebration, there was a massive delay in the distribution of food at every table, so that almost no one could eat at the same time. What was brought to me as vegan alternatives was also really low level and didn't leave a positive impression. At the second celebration a few days ago, we sat in the next room, which was only covered by plastic sheeting. Heating was done with a few patio heaters, which did not create a pleasant room climate at all. You could barely stand it directly under one of the mushrooms, although your head was almost burning, but your feet were ice cold. Some of the rest were very cold, especially those who sat with their backs directly against the tarpaulin. A ventilation concept for the gas-powered patio heaters was also missing. The seating consisted of very tightly placed beer tent sets. Overall, it was all far too narrow and uncomfortable. When we still didn't have more than 2 empty bottles of water for 9 people at our table after 1.5 hours, despite ordering/requesting (drinks) several times, we quickly decided - also with the experience of the first celebration there - to to look for another location. What can I say? We had a fantastic evening afterwards, with comfortable seats, attentive service and great food - just somewhere else. While we were already full and chatting contentedly, the other colleagues were still waiting for the food to be distributed some time later. My colleague wrote to me: "But at least the drinks I ordered have now arrived. 😅"

Not your typical pizzeria atmosphere. It's in the old Union Bräu building. So more of a brewery hall. But in Italo style...very interesting! Italian service - nice but not intrusive! The pizza is (for my taste) one of the best in town. Clear recommendation! Reservation recommended!

I always visit this restaurant when I'm in Frankfurt. I've tried several dishes on the menu and none of them have disappointed me. The food here is very good and made with quality ingredients. My only criticism is the bartender, besides the terrible service, he doesn't know how to make cocktails. So I don't recommend wasting your money on cocktails. opt for the safer option that is beer or soda. The cocktails are poorly prepared and the bartender is rude!
