Rustic eatery with outdoor seating and an extensive menu. Check in via Luca or Corona-Warn. Nice, friendly and attentive host. We were very satisfied with our stay, food and drinks. A year later here again (coming from the Palatinate) and just as satisfied. Thank God the Corona stuff is over. August 24 - Here we are again in our favorite pub in Hanover. Everything is still tip top. We went home (to our motorhome) satisfied.

Price performance is very good, but you should allow time as eating takes longer. The burgers are very tasty! The service was okay.

Card payment would still be great and modern.

Herlich, eine Bodenständige Kneipe , mit einfachen, aufgepepten Gerichten. Kein Schnickschnack, aber lecker. Preise sehr wohlwollend und animieren einen mehr zu bestellen. Unsere Empfehlung hat die Pinte auf jeden Fall. Freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung setzen noch eins drauf. Wir haben einen Wunderbaren Abend verbracht

The shop has its own charm; time has stopped here at exactly the right time. The offer is completely honest and straightforward - if you like "playful" you probably won't be happy here. And of course you can't pay by card here, it doesn't suit the style or the prices, which would probably have to go up. I wouldn't have been surprised if there were (additional) DM prices on the card (I think it's cool), that would be stylish. The food is of good, solid quality and tastes good. A piece of gherkin as part of the salad with the currywurst? You have to have that much grit first. The statement fits :-) The egg has personality, charm, its own style and edge. Please stay exactly like that!

A quaint pub with a large selection of food. It's pub food, of course, but at a high level. I really like the cheese ham omelet with salad.

Nice restaurant in itself Time but you have to HAVE TIME!!! Starter took 45 minutes (= baguettes warmed up with a little butter, which should taste like garlic) and eating took an hour!!!! Without information that it “TAKES LONGER TODAY” if we had known that we would have gone somewhere else

The food is very tasty, fried potatoes are really good. Meat quality is rather mixed. Service a bit slow. Good German pub with very reasonable prices probably sums it up well. A place with tradition and direct contact, where it's worth stopping by. If you're on a budget, you'll be happy drinking and eating.

WOW! The biker regulars' table in Hanover and the surrounding area was a guest today. Everyone was extremely enthusiastic about the service and especially the food. The food was fresh and so delicious. Price/performance can be described as more than TOP. You can sit inside and outside. We would be happy, very happy to come back.

Classic. I've known this restaurant since I was a student decades ago. Back then you could eat and drink cheaply there, and that hasn't changed to this day. Of course it's not a 5 star restaurant and the inventory is simple, but the offering is solid and extensive to spend a cozy evening in a pub atmosphere.

Great service, nice and attentive. The burger was rather mediocre, the meat seemed to be stretched with breadcrumbs, sauces normal without any kick. Salad dressing very tasty.

The best schnitzel and fried potatoes ever! The service was always friendly and nice, even though she was completely alone with the cook on a Wednesday when the house was full. Nevertheless, I would always come back and if necessary I would have to wait 2 hours for my food and drinks. I just love the egg because of the unbeatable price-performance ratio. Thank you!

I've probably been going to the egg for over 40 years. The salads there are very tasty and filling. Especially the dressing...But also curry sausage with fries was very tasty.Roast potatoes hmmm.... The price-performance ratio is also top. Even though prices have risen in recent years, like everywhere else, I still enjoy coming here again and again. It's a cozy pub - even with a smoking room. If it's warm you can also sit outside...but it's on a busy street, so street noise is to be expected.

One of the oldest restaurants in Linden. I was there when I was a teenager, back then you could take a table and when everyone had fried potatoes and fried eggs, you could get as much help as you could eat. To this day I still fondly remember the old days. And my favorite food to this day remains fried potatoes and fried eggs. Great service and food.

I picked up 2 baguettes to take away on Saturday. My husband and I were very disappointed, they were very soft and flaky and the taste also left something to be desired. It's a shame we were often in the egg or getting something. We have never experienced it like this before.

Great pub. It's been a long, long time since I've been there and I'm happy to see that there are still a few things in Linden that haven't yet fallen victim to gentrification. Nice, relaxed but still very attentive service, down-to-earth, delicious food, rustic ambience. A clear recommendation!

We ended the day here with a few beers. Luckily you can also get something delicious to eat here. The map is structured in such a way that everyone can find what they are looking for. The service is also great. You understand each other straight away. We'd love to come back :).

Unbeatable prices for good German cuisine. It's sometimes difficult for two waitresses to keep up with the size of the dining room. Otherwise, an absolutely recommendable cult restaurant.

Price performance is right. Staff and food great. It's just an old student bar. But they are still there today.

Great restaurant, with a pub feeling. Simple, rustic and really good cuisine. An insider in Linden. It's worth a visit and you don't feel like you're in a classic restaurant, but more like you're in a pub. The food is super delicious, old-fashioned, hand-crafted food. In summer you can also sit outside, although I find the atmosphere inside better

It's nice that a pub like this still exists. I went to dinner and gas talk with bikers during the week. We had a lovely evening, to which the kitchen contributed a lot. From the salad plate to veggie burgers to really fat (huge) schnitzel plates, everything was really tasty, really good traditional German cuisine at unbeatable prices. The only thing that has changed about food in 25 years is this. It is very unfortunate that “Heinz” no longer exists. who still knows him? Exactly, fish fingers with fried potatoes and hollondaise sauce. What I never understood...why there are burgers, currywurst and fries? Since we only travel 25km once or twice a year, we usually always order the same thing. Egg salad with the delicious garlic dressing, vegetarian hot pot and the Bernese schnitzel... The service is always very nice and you chat a bit and make jokes. It is and remains one of the quaint student bars in Hanover and the food is simply delicious... P.S.: Unfortunately everything is getting more expensive, so you have to get used to it. I still remember times when the small egg salad (41) only cost 4.50 D-Marks. Today a whopping 6 euros... NO MATTER

Quaint pub with delicious food at just moderate prices. A little too loud for a conversation. A group room. Reservation is strongly recommended, otherwise you will just have to wait at the counter. For Hanoverians, the egg has been a cult for decades, for others it is at least worth a visit. When the weather is good, outdoor dining - unfortunately on a busy street.

Super Kneipe. Wir treffen uns schon lange mit den Kumpels im Ei. Das Essen ist der Hammer. Und Anja hat auch alles voll im Griff. Heute alles super gemeistert.

Das Bier ist so schnell verfügbar, wie man es sich wünsch.

Sehr freundlich die Bedienung. Das Essen kam sehr schnell, noch bevor eine sehr große ( 3 tische)Gesellschaft die Bestellung abschließen konnte. Das war sehr nett von der Bedienung. Das Essen war auch wieder gut.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, allerdings war der Kaiserschmarrn nur ein zerstückelter Pfannkuchen. Das war enttäuschend

Seit Jahrzehnten gibt es diese gemütliche Lokalität. Prima mit der Linie 10 zu erreichen. Preise sind günstig. Speisen sind lecker und die Portion so dass man satt wird. Die Bedienung ist gut drauf. Freundliche, flotte Bedienung. Wir waren jetzt auch schon mehrfach mit der Abteilung dort.

Tolles Essen bei super Service in einzigartigem Ambiente. Alle zwei Jahre zur Messe mache ich gerne eine Besuch und wurde noch nie enttäuscht😋 oder doch, weil es einfach zu voll ist und wir keinen Platz mehr bekommen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portion riesig. Vom Preis war ich wirklich geschockt, weil ich essen konnte und 3 Gläser Cola für unter 20 Euro hatte. Super!!

Sehr leckeres Essen, bei weitem die beste Currywurst, die ich gegessen habe. Sehr große Portion für verhältnismäßig wenig Geld. War ein schöner Abend, haben uns schon mehr oder weniger auf einen weiteren Abend dort verabredet. Definitiv eine Empfehlung.

Suppe war sehr lecker. Schnitzel geschmacklich gut jedoch am Rand leicht schwarz. Putensteak war erst extrem hart wurde dann aber sofort neu und butterzart gemacht. Toller Service. Auch sonst war der Service super. Man kann allerdings nur bar bezahlen. Das sollte vielleicht groß an der Tür stehen und auf der Homepage ersichtlich sein

Hier kommen Erinnerungen an die gute alte Zeit wieder hoch. Vor fast 40 Jahren jede Woche eine andere Studentenkneipe besucht und diese hier war ein Highlight. Gutes günstiges Essen, leckeres Bier und klasse Bedienung. Daran hat sich bis heute nichts geändert. Wir werden uns jetzt im Alter von 60 Jahren wieder öfters hier treffen ;-)

Nach Urzeiten hier mal wieder eingekehrt und das Gefühl gehabt, nie weg gewesen zu sein. Man fühlte sich sofort herzlich willkommen und sehr nett bedient. Das Essen war super lecker und gut portioniert. Wir werden mit unserem nächsten Besuch sicherlich nicht wieder Jahre warten!

Das Ei sollte man unbedingt einen Besuch abstatten. Es liegt in Linden, unweit der Limmerstraße und drinnen ist urig eingerichtet. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich, die Preise unfassbar günstig. Alle Gerichte unter 10€. Dafür ist das Essen top, die Portionen mehr als ausreichend. Auch die Getränkepreise sind sehr günstig. Die Bedienung war ebenfalls sehr nett. Einziges kleines Manko war die lange Wartezeit. Allerdings war es auch ziemlich voll.

Das Ei ist ein Urgestein im Stadtteil Linden und immer wieder empfehlenswert. Essen und Getränke werden zu fairen Preisen angeboten. Die Thekenkräfte sind super nett und immer aufmerksam. Das Essen ist lecker und die Portionen mehr als ausreichend. Hier passt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis auf jeden Fall. Tischreservierungen sind für größere Gruppen auf jeden Fall sinnvoll, da das Ei meist sehr gut besucht ist.
