Excellent food with a twist: top quality and a surprising element of surprise. Wasabi potato salad? Cauliflower Wirgs? Or perhaps the mountain cheese dumplings? We couldn't decide which dish took first place. The burgers were unquestionably top-notch! The service was also first-class, and the atmosphere was exceptional: every single guest was treated with respect, from the lively child with a disability to the dog. Everyone was seen and served warmly. Community – as described on the website – is not an empty promise here! Thank you, dear team!

We had by far the best veggie burger we've had in a long time here. The cauliflower wings are also highly recommended. All the dishes were of high quality, delicious, and beautifully presented. The service and ambiance were extremely pleasant.

We went for the American brunch; the buffet was incredibly delicious with everything you could want. Drinks were included, and the staff were very friendly and always attentive. Highly recommended.

The two of us ate here and were honestly disappointed. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance and a lovely garden. I ate a salad that cost 18 euros. The salad was standard, the dressing wasn't what the menu promised, but rather a bland vinegar and oil mix, and the shrimp were cold (not my cup of tea). Unfortunately, there was no slice of bread with it. I've had much better experiences at other restaurants. My companion had a tiny piece of quiche (we expected more), and this snack already cost over 10 euros. The service wasn't great either. We won't be eating here again.

Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The website gives a much better impression than the reality on site. A bottle of wine we ordered was simply served with a warm ice pack. When we asked for a ice pack, we were told that an event had already taken place and that none were available. A wine cooler is also no longer available – according to information, it was discontinued for cost reasons. A "Greetings from the Kitchen" is also no longer offered. While the dishes are okay, they are all presented in the same way – more creativity and variety would be desirable. The service, provided by two male employees, seemed rather unmotivated and inattentive. On the plus side, the beautiful garden, which invites you to linger and offers a pleasant atmosphere, is worth mentioning. Nevertheless, for the rather high prices – given the location – overall, there is unfortunately too little on offer.

We had hoped for a bit more from our visit. The garden is truly beautiful and inviting. The food tasted good, but everything seemed to be presented in the same way and served with the same sauces – a bit more variety would have been good. Furthermore, the food was quite oily. Unfortunately, there was no wine cooler for the bottle of wine; instead, they served a warm wine sleeve. Totally inappropriate. The price of the bottle is accordingly high... When we asked about it, we were told that they never offered wine coolers with ice cubes. The sleeves were warm because there were several events already taking place that day. Poor organization! The service was rather inattentive and unfriendly. Overall, we found the price too high, especially since the quality was okay, but not outstanding.

The two of us spontaneously went here for dinner. My girlfriend ordered the salmon, and I ordered the chicken, and we also wanted to share a portion of cauliflower. When the food arrived, we were very irritated that there were no side dishes. We had expected fries or something similar to be included automatically, even though it wasn't listed on the menu. It's simply not normal for a main course that costs over €20 to not come with a side dish. Moreover, the portion size was ridiculous. My girlfriend usually fills up quickly, but the tiny piece of salmon with the three small spears of asparagus was really quite small. Everything tasted quite good. The cauliflower, in particular, was fantastic! However, we probably wouldn't eat here again. Not serving a side dish, given the rather steep prices, is outrageous. However, since the service was so friendly, we still left a tip and hope that the staff will appreciate it.

This was our first time at the Blaues Schaf in Hochdahl. The starter was delicious, and my wife really enjoyed the main course. My burger was unfortunately disappointing. It arrived cold, the cheese wasn't melted, and the bacon was completely undercooked. I pointed this out to the waiter, but I had the feeling it wasn't really appreciated. I ended up sending three-quarters of the burger back. I hope that was a slip-up, because the other burgers we saw looked very good. I'd like to highlight the vanilla carrots – they tasted really great. The place doesn't look inviting from the outside, but it was fine inside. The older waiter was unfortunately quite disinterested and seemed annoyed, while the two younger ones were friendly and helpful. What we didn't like: The relatively high prices are disproportionate to the quality offered – at least not on this evening. Overall, a mixed experience with both good and bad. Perhaps we'll give the Blaues Schaf another chance.

A surprisingly cozy restaurant with a great atmosphere and a very nice outdoor area. Friendly service, a clear menu with seasonal dishes, and good value for money. I'd happily return.

Pretty decent. We were staying at Gartenhotel Fettehenne hotel and popped downstairs for dinner. The dining space is light filled and comfortable enough. We ended up sharing a burger and fries as the prices seemed a bit high for us (£17.90 for the burger that doesn’t come with pommes Fritz, the fries were £5 extra). Luckily we had a free drink with our stay at the hotel. The burger was pretty good 7.5/10 Overall a pretty decent experience but not recommended for those planning a budget trip.

Unfortunately, there was a very loud wedding party there. You couldn't even hear yourself.

Unfortunately, we come back from eating at the Blue Sheep with mixed feelings. A positive highlight was the employee who started work alone at 5 p.m., while we were able to reserve a table online for 5 p.m. Ergo: it hadn't been cleaned up from the morning and hadn't been set up yet. The employee therefore had to serve us and prepare the tables, ungrateful for both sides. He was very friendly to us and tried hard not to let us notice the situation. The food was delicious, but the prices are exorbitant in our opinion. Almost 18 euros for a burger, for which you have to order and pay for the side dish separately. For example, fries cost 5 euros. The three of us, 3 burgers with fries, one cauliflower nuggets plus 3 drinks cost us almost 90 euros. This is in no way appropriate. We will therefore not be coming back.

Nice restaurant and more comfortable than the first impression from the outside, the staff very nice. Unfortunately the food wasn't what we expected. Beautifully prepared, but the homemade fries were cold and the burger was lukewarm. Unfortunately, my wife's meal wasn't as expected either; the fennel vegetables and the parmesan had separated, which meant that the plate was unfortunately full of fat and the fennel vegetables were crispy. We wouldn't recommend it for eating

Very tasty food! Good service, everyone tries very hard to make the guests comfortable and very friendly. We had dinner here for two. The food was really good to very good. Cool and delicious creations that you don't get that often. You sit in a kind of winter garden and can enjoy the sunset and have a good time. The only negative point in my opinion is the price-performance ratio. The food is really tasty, but for example, paying €19.80 for a vegetarian dish (eggplant, hummus, almond slivers) and having to pay extra for the side dish (€6.5) is already a steep price. All in all, recommended, but only if you want/can afford it.

The food was good and portions were sufficient. Price/performance a bit higher. The woman in service is a mixture of lovely, crazy, friendly -> great!!! Unfortunately, the entire dining room was very darkly lit. When your own body was shadowed, you could no longer see the food. (The phone even switched to night mode while taking pictures)

Nice restaurant, unfortunately our mixed starters (pumpkin and red cabbage) were very sour. Unfortunately, the dessert (creme brulee) was anything but a cream. We let them go back. In return we got a very tasty dessert with ice cream and coffee. Unfortunately, two of the three waitresses weren't really on their toes. Forgot our drink order. The third and final waiter was very nice, quick and competent. He alone would have gotten five stars.

It's been 2 days since our visit. Nice location, food okay, service friendly but unfortunately a bit careless…. We were completely unbiased. A nice little card, but unfortunately it doesn't keep what it promises. Missing ingredients, jus was unfortunately tasteless and resembled a ready-made sauce, smash patty was not smashed but a normal cooking level patty. Portions not appropriate for the price/performance ratio. You're not in the center of Düsseldorf...You expect the corresponding quality there. The offshoots (fries, potatoes & salads) were delicious. There were a few faux pas in the service which really disrupted the dining experience. Forgotten side dishes only arrived when everyone had almost finished eating. Drinks and reorders as well as the bill took an extremely long time. Really too long. Overall the food was good but not worth the money. Unfortunately we won't be coming back :/

We were there for brunch. The food was super tasty and the service was also perfect. We would go back at any time. The only tiny negative point is the acoustics. Even if not all tables are occupied, the room seems quite loud due to the conversations of the remaining guests.

We were able to have a great meal in the wonderful garden ambience in the most wonderful weather and felt very comfortable and well looked after with good food!

Addendum July 16, 2024: Unfortunately, the Blue Sheep seems to be on the decline... people still wait far too long for their drinks (sometimes 30 minutes for a beer or a glass of wine) And the kitchen no longer seems to be of such high quality. The braised beef is no longer served with a Killepitsch jus, but apparently with a Mondamin ready-made gravy... And the asparagus crêpes also had nothing to do with crêpes, but was a 1.5 cm thick flatbread of dough in which asparagus was rolled. The tomato chutney with it was very tasty and something different! Work on your quality, it would be a shame if things continued to decline. This review refers to the winemakers' evening on March 17, 2023 First of all, I have to admit that I have never visited the restaurant since its inception. Nevertheless, the advertising for the winemaker's evening (6 course menu with wine accompaniment for 89 euros) was the opportunity to give the blue sheep a chance. And: I wasn't disappointed, but rather taken on a special culinary journey. But from the beginning: The booking and the contact were very pleasant and accommodating. Any intolerances could be discussed and taken into account in advance. All agreements were implemented exactly. The winemaker presented at least one wine for each course, and courses 4, 5 and 6 even had 2 different wines each. The presentation shined with expertise and enthusiasm for her passion. A great trip through the winery. The food was surprising and outstanding. I describe the dishes as “good middle-class”, but the implementation was modern, to the point and, above all, not too playful. Each course in itself was an experience and a feast for the taste buds. In course 1, the salad of sugar snap peas, pancetta, mint and parmesan surprised us with its perfect harmony. Course 2 was a winemaker's tart with a rich cheesy filling. Course 3 was a foam soup that will be remembered for its taste because it had such a great and strong vegetable flavor and still tasted completely natural. Course 4 was a buckwheat risotto with smoked char, which I would probably never have ordered and was once again proven wrong by the dish. Course 5 was a medium-roasted sirloin of beef, butter-tender and pleasant in taste with a port wine jus that simply couldn't be made better. The culmination of course 6 was a mixture of brownie, vanilla ice cream in a chocolate coating and light coffee notes. Tastes perfect!!! If I could have wished for something else, it would have been a bread basket with a few slices of baguette to neutralize the taste buds every now and then, but that would be all. All in all it was a fantastic evening (5 hours long), at a totally fair price and I will be back! I would be happy if you could inspire more Hochdahlers instead of almost exclusively welcoming guests from outside of Germany. Finally, a compliment to the team: We were perfectly looked after both during the booking phase and in the evening. Unobtrusive, courteous, friendly... great employees! Cheers!

Overall, a very tasty burger. Freshly made. The broiche bun was good bakery quality too. The fries were crispy and also tasted fresh. It left you full, even though the burger looked a bit small at first. Price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. The burger, fries and drink cost around €25.

Had dinner here in the evening as guests of the hotel. Absolutely friendly and loving service. The ambience is modern and stylish in a winter garden. We had the zucchini fritters and salmon as a starter, the former of which was an absolute hit but the pickled salmon was also very tasty. Main course burger classic delicious. Dessert ice cream and tonka bean ganache. We were very satisfied and can only recommend it.

Ich war in diesem Restaurant zum Abendessen. Aufgrund hoher Nachfrage empfiehlt sich eine Tischreservierung. Die Location ist hell und modern eingerichtet und befindet sich im Erdgeschoss des Gartenhotels Fette Henne. Es gibt einige kostenlose Parkplätze direkt vor dem Hotel, ansonsten entlang der Straße. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und aufmerksam. Die Speisekarte ist klein gehalten, bietet aber eine Auswahl für alle Geschmäcker. Etwas umfangreicher ist dafür die Getränkekarte. Qualität und Quantität der Speisen waren in Ordnung.

Das Essen und die Getränke waren super, der Service war an dem Abend zu 5. (!!!) für ca 25-30 Gäste völlig Überbesetzt und trotzdem musste man ewig warten bis sie zum Tisch kamen. Bis auf den Service würde ich dem Abend 5* geben.

Nice restaurant in the hotel. You sit in a kind of large winter garden and there is a fireplace. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the menu is small and changes seasonally. There are delicious and relatively inexpensive drinks. The food is well prepared, the blue sheep burger was great.

Die Küche ist gut. Mit der Organisation in einem vollem Haus war man überfordert. Es gab allerdings die eine oder andere Entschädigung in Form von Gratis- Getränken und Nachtisch.

I ate here for the first time today. The quality of the food and the service is really excellent. We ate feta cheese as a starter, various burger variations as a main course and homemade ice cream as a dessert. The processing of the food and the quality was really excellent. The whole thing is rounded off by a clear but fine menu. Additionally, the staff is extremely courteous and attentive, even as the store became more crowded. We will definitely come back!

Vegetarische Hauptgerichte zwei im Angebot, davon 1 so oft wir dort waren nicht zu bekommen. Auf Kennzeichnung dass ein Gericht vegetarisch ist, man kann sich darauf aber nicht verlassen, Rückfragenergaben z.B, dass bei vegetarischen Gerichten Parmesan verwendet wird, welcher ja nachweislich nicht vegetarisch ist. Hinweis an den Schichtleiter ergab ein Schulterzucken! Für Allergiker wie mich eine sehr kritische Situation! Preise wurden nicht unerheblich erhöht. Zum Brotkorb wurde nur noch eine kleine Portion Butter gereicht, angebotenes Olivenöl war leer und wurde einem dann in einem kleinen Schälchen mit Löffel hingehalten. Die Vorspeisen an sich waren ungenießbar und hätte man nicht auf der Karte gelesen was man isst, hätte man den Geschmack nicht erkennen können. Z.B ein mit Ziegenkäse überbackener Chicoree bestand aus drei kleinen Chicoreeblättchen auf einem Schüsselchen voll Feldsalat, aber geschmacklich nicht als Chicoree erkennbar. Kellnerin, jung und unerfahren, obwohl Lokal nicht sehr voll blieb unbemerkt, dass wir etwa 15 Minuten regungslos vor dem unappetitlichen Essen saßen. Beim Abräumen wurde dann gefragt ob es geschmeckt hat, Auf die offene Antwort, dass das Essen eine Zumutung war kam ein Schulterzucken. Gleiche Reaktion bei der Kellnerin welche kassiert hat. Bestes an dem Besuch war die Cola, auch wenn es bei einer Cola blieb weil niemand fragte ob man noch ein zweites Glas haben möchte, und der Wein, wenn gleich dieser nicht gerade günstig ist. Alles in allem ein nicht gerade erfreuliches Erlebnis, dies war sicherlich unser letzter Besuch

I went there for dinner for the 3rd time last week. The kitchen was again very good, everything was very tasty and beautiful to look at. But unfortunately I have to give the service team a bad rating from this evening. The waiter didn't know about gluten intolerance, at least that was our impression. And some of the starters we ordered were forgotten. The request for additional drinks was also not satisfactory. Dealing with the customer that evening was not what I was used to there before. No sympathy points were collected. I'm really someone who doesn't immediately give reviews (and unfortunately bad ones), but feedback is the only way the team can react.

The food was very tasty, the service was friendly but still needs some practice. You are sitting in a winter garden and therefore it is rather drafty. Unfortunately, our clothes still smelled strongly of churro fat the next day. The topic was implemented in a wonderfully refreshing way in many areas. We found the evening very successful.

Unfortunately it didn't correspond to the recommendations I received. The restaurant was at most half full, the service was very friendly, but somehow overwhelmed. Of the 6 starters, three came only after we remembered and when the first three guests had already finished. Of 6 main courses, one came 15 minutes after the others. And the burgers were only lukewarm. This should work better; then the prices would also be reasonable. The basic taste and presentation of the food were definitely positive, but unfortunately it was too late and too cold.

Die Preis/ Leistung war auf Basis der Lage, des Services, der Essensqualität und des Gesamtbildes ausbaufähig. Das Ambiente ist ganz ok. Der Versuch es sehr gehoben wirken zu lassen, wird leider durch Kleinigkeiten (die aber zählen) etwas auf den Boden der Tatsachen zurück geholt. Die Karte ist recht überschaubar, was grundsätzlich ein Zeichen von Qualität sein kann. Doof nur, wenn dann einige der Speisen nicht erhältlich sind, weil sie ausgegangen sind. Das Essen an sich ist aber gehoben. Das Personal könnte freundlicher und serviceorientierter sein. Die Cocktails hören sich ganz gut an, besonders mit dem hauseigenen Gin, gehen in der Umsetzung aber sicherlich besser. Ich hatte einen Basil Smash ohne die geringste Spur von frischem Basilikum... Der Gin ist aber toll.

I stayed in Erkrath for four days at Gartenhotel Fettehenne, while the accommodations were just okay the restaurant was absolutely incredible. Every night I was served a spectacular meal with great service. Must visit at least once if you’re looking for a meal in Erkrath.

Eine Nacht im Hotel mit Abendessen im Restaurant "Das blaue Schaf" was sich mit im Hotel befindet. Tolles Ambiente, sehr modern, chic eingerichtet, es macht schon Freude, das Restaurant mit der tollen Bar und offenen Küche zu betreten. Speisekarte top, Bedienung ein bisschen zu unaufmerksam, sehr laut im Restaurantraum. Aber das Essen super gut! Wir haben jeden Bissen genossen!
