Absolutely fantastic food, every single component was great, and together they were perfectly coordinated. You can put together your menu as you wish. Of course it's not cheap, but the quality justifies it.

The restaurant is perfect for a nice evening. We chose the vegetarian menu and were absolutely surprised by the creativity and interesting variety of flavors of the vegetables chosen. The dessert was the best we have ever eaten in a restaurant.

Ich war heute mit drei Geschäftspartnern im Ballenberger Restaurant. Es war ein gelungener Abend mit hervorragendem Essen und einer hervorragenden Getränkeauswahl. Dank der äußerst aufmerksamen Mitarbeiter wurde uns jeder Wunsch erfüllt und auch eine mehrsprachige Beratung stellte für das Personal keine Herausforderung dar. A very good restaurant. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The toilets very clean. Everything is very consistent. We would love to come back! For parents of small children who want to have lunch there. Around the corner is a beautiful, new children's playground with swings and slides.

We were there for lunch and had the dinner menu. Very attentive service and overall good value for money. The chefs are very creative. The beetroot soup, the duck breast, and the Iberico pork were all absolutely top-notch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The wine pairing is highly recommended.

We had a very relaxed five-course dinner menu, which left no room for complaint, from soup to duck breast, fish, and Iberico to dessert. A great restaurant, fine cuisine, and very attentive service – highly recommended!

A very stylish restaurant with a lovely ambiance. Friendly service, great breakfast, highly recommended.

The ambience was very pleasant. The staff was friendly. The food didn't impress us. For example, the radish with mozzarella and black garlic appetizer was pretty to look at. The garlic was applied in homeopathic blobs, and so the already lightly seasoned dish didn't convince us. The pork dish unfortunately continued this trend. The broccoli was good. The meat looked pink, but was very tough. The sauce was well-seasoned and tasty. Upon request, it was served later. Both we and our companion were disappointed with the menu. The wine pairing was exceptionally good and delicious.

It's a "menu restaurant" that's slightly cheaper than alternatives, but also slightly...cheaper. There are little things - ugly refrigerator in the first room, one of four dessert spoons was different from the other three, lemonade was so sweet that even the children weren't convinced, while eating, an employee walked through the hall with some boxes... I would say that if it was such a super-special, unique event that should leave unforgettable memories - I would probably spend another 20 EUR per person and go somewhere else. Otherwise a very good restaurant.

We had eaten here from time to time years ago and now we had the opportunity again. We went to New Year's Eve breakfast on December 31, 2024 and really enjoyed the start of the last day of the year. In addition to the very good food and the beautifully decorated table, we were completely pampered by the very nice service. We'll definitely be back.

Food, drinks and service top. My wife and I chose the 5-course menu on New Year's Eve with wine accompaniment for €159/person. Unfortunately, I wasn't full and my wife was barely full. It was our third visit to Ballenberger overall. We don't know yet whether we will visit the restaurant again in the future...

The restaurant impresses with excellent food that is not only a delight in terms of taste but also visually. The dessert in particular is a highlight for me every time. The service is friendly and courteous, even if the boss leaves a somewhat snippy impression. A big plus: Even though we were there after 2 p.m., we were still offered the discounted lunch menu - a really nice gesture. I also find it particularly interesting that the toilets are also available to non-guests for a small fee of €0.50. The ambience also contributes to the positive experience - stylish and cozy. All in all, a clear recommendation, especially for lovers of good desserts and a nice ambience!

Auch wenn ich grundsätzlich Restaurants bevorzuge, die keine allzu umfangreichen Speisekarten haben, war hier die Auswahl abends doch allzu eingeschränkt. Die Teller sahen ansprechend aus, das Essen erfüllte meine Erwartungen aber leider nicht. Die einzelnen Geschmäcker waren zu wenig herausgearbeitet und etwas mehr Würze wäre begrüssenswert gewesen. Bedient wurden wir freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt nicht (mehr) …38 € für nicht mal 100 Gramm Rinderfilet,lauwarmes Essen ,keine vorgewärmten Teller ,also für ein Restaurant im Michelin Guide! unterirdisch. Auf Anfrage ob alles gut ist ,sagte ich das das Essen nur lauwarm ist -Antwort:ich gebe es der Küche weiter ! Finde den Fehler !!!! Service war ok ,aber auch nur ok ,in dieser Preisklasse erwarte ich etwas mehr Fachkompetenz . Dazu war das Essen auch kein Highlight -sehr fade und ohne jede Würze ! Wir werden dort nicht noch einmal hingehen …

Leider war der Seibling nicht durchgegart. Nach der Rückgabe kam ein wesentlich kleineres Stück. Das Personal ist nicht vom Fach. Leider hat die Qualität sehr nachgelassen. Bei einem Besuch vor drei Jahren war es noch hochwertiger.

Some dishes were lukewarm. No greeting from the kitchen, service staff were sometimes difficult to understand, little advice on wine. Despite reserving well in advance, the seat was not very comfortable and was cramped. The selection of vegetarian dishes and the availability of very good non-alcoholic Seccos from the Geiger factory were pleasing.

Dear ones at Ballenberger, We had dinner with you for the third time on June 6th. A very special day for us, just before our wedding. We “pre-married” just the two of us that day. You were our first choice that day and, like on our previous visits, we chose a menu. It was delicious from the appetizer to the wine selection. Very good food, unfortunately it was very loud, the old walls have no silencers (tapestries, carpets, etc.), very nice service, quick preparation of the food, recommended!

Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet expectations and the price level. Some of it wasn't prepared well - there was leftover intestines in the prawns, the complaint was only noted but not commented on. At this price you can eat much better and more creatively in Erfurt.

Unfortunately disappointment... across the board... It was our first date!! But definitely the last one in this location… I just wanted a nice bottle of dry Chardonnay!!! Unfortunately impossible in this shop :( after starting 2 bottles... the lady offered it for us!! (which didn't taste good at all) Come with a bottle of white burgundy. Which she didn't open in front of us at the table!! She pretended to open it fresh!!!! The wine... was disgusting! Taste... O... stale, sour and cheap :( food came after 10 minutes .. My duck breast tasted like liver .. very tasty .. and when you chewed it didn't get any rounder :( If I had used normal white ones, I would have started and sorted everything out on the spot!! But my date partner... told me not to... I would 1000% never go back there!! And I don't recommend it to anyone... unfortunately I don't know what they paid... it's also supposed to be a star restaurant 🤨 the prices are very high...

The Ballenberger is a very fashionable restaurant that definitely invites you to stay with its ambience. My wife and I stopped in in the evening and were thrilled with both the food and the service. Our waiter accompanied us throughout the evening and was knowledgeable about both the wines and the food served, giving us an evening with potential to be repeated. We decided to pamper ourselves again for breakfast the following day but were a bit shocked... The service in the morning left a lot to be desired and queries about advertised dishes were answered sloppily. We therefore only recommend it for dinner

We came here for dinner to celebrate passing an exam and were unfortunately disappointed. The service was nice and attentive, but couldn't give good advice or explain what was on the plate. The food itself was mixed. Unfortunately, the two starters didn't convince us, nor did the intermediate course, but the main courses were good, but didn't particularly stand out from other restaurants. We expected much more for the prices and the reputation this restaurant enjoys.

The waitress ( I think she was the manager) was very friendly. So friendly that when I asked for a glass of wine she asked if I wanted her to pour more. What an innocent fool was I! She did this again with my second glass and I ended up being charged for 4 glasses of wine! The food here is good and the ambience pleasant, though it was pretty empty on a Monday evening. Outside restaurants were crowded. Expensive

We ate "sea bass fillet with cannelini beans" etc. The sea bass fillet itself tasted very good, but we would have liked a side salad for the price. So the portion was very manageable. Price/performance ratio doesn't match.

Grundsätzlich war es sehr gut, das Essen lecker, der Service sehr zuvorkommend, das Ambiente sehr ansprechend: insgesamt ein schöner Abend. Aber es gibt einen faden Beigeschmack: für das 4 Gänge-Menü zu zweit + 2x Aperitif, 1 kleines Bier, 1x 0,1 Weißwein, 2x Dessertwein läßt man einfach mal 200€ liegen. Das ist dann doch nicht zum rechtfertigen. Schade.

First of all: the interior design style is great. The chairs are comfortable, the table is elaborate and beautifully set. You feel good. However, not really when it comes to service, you are rushed through (the guests at the next table were told by the service "I don't really have time, I'll explain it to you anyway"). Service was far too rough for me, questions about wines couldn't be answered at all because there was obviously a lack of specialist knowledge (for one wine the answer was "yes, it's a summery wine" three times, but that wasn't the point of my question). Wine is poured and before you can even begin to ask a question, the waitress runs away (although the restaurant wasn't so full that this would be justified). Warmth is completely missing here, you have to fight for a smile. The food was good in 2/4 courses. One of them very good. The rest promised a little too much on the menu which cannot be kept. It's not quite fine dining (in modern terms it certainly isn't) and things like "tortilla" are just hard and barely edible. Completely cold and topped with egg salad which was good but no more. The bread at the beginning also deserved more appreciation. Ordinary (even if homemade) baguette that lacks aroma and good texture. We had a lovely evening, the wines were delicious. We wouldn't come back for the rest.

A very small and fine restaurant. Great employees, great service and super friendly. Everything fits here. I can reserve electronically and receive a confirmation. This should work everywhere in 2023. The prices match the food. You feel comfortable and the service is good. The food tastes good and is well prepared. Update During yesterday's visit I was able to check my 5-star rating again and now give it 6 out of 5 stars. The 3-course menu was very good from start to finish. Steak with asparagus were great. The asparagus was on point. The drinks advice was good and the service was friendly. Up soon.
