We booked the beautiful 531 room and it was a dream. My wife spent a lot of time at the spa on our anniversary weekend and it was really worth the money. The facility is also very appealing for us non-golfers. The staff was more than accommodating and well trained. Dinner and the wine shop: great and the Ornellaia 2019 an absolute highlight. The second evening at the Weißen Hirsch was also very, very good. There were Simmental treats for our dog 🥩. The live music at the bar in the evening rounded everything off. Definitely we'll come back. Many thanks to the entire team for the lovely weekend

For years we have been to the bar almost every week and enjoy one or two cocktails. We recently got together again and tasted one of the great wines at the bar. Staff is changeable. Sometimes the service is fantastic (Jose), on other days it can happen that cocktails taste different than usual or orders are forgotten (which can happen with frequent staff changes). Despite everything, the service should definitely live up to the prices. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the prices are on the upper limit. The wellness area is small, clean and, if you just want to do a bit of wellness for a day without using the room offer, definitely too expensive.

I recently spent an overnight stay in Achental with my girlfriend. The rooms were very nice and we felt very welcome there. The only negative point was the slightly cold outdoor pool. What I would particularly like to highlight was the great and charming service from the employee Carina in the breakfast area.

We spent wonderful days at the Hotel das Achental. From arrival to departure we had nothing to complain about. The rooms are clean and spacious. The service is attentive without being intrusive. Our dog was absolutely welcome and was even allowed to be brought into the Vinothek restaurant. The breakfast selection is terrific. We also tested the spa area and were absolutely satisfied. Thank you for the great stay. We will be happy to come back.

A beautiful hotel with warm and courteous staff, especially at reception and in the spa area. The massage was exceptionally relaxing and soothing - one of the best I've ever received. The employees take a lot of time and respond individually to the needs of the guests. The rooms are stylishly and comfortably furnished, and the wellness area is also good. However, the relaxation area is a bit too small for the number of guests. Loungers have to be occupied in the morning otherwise you won't get any and you have to go to the pool area. It's not very quiet there. In addition, you have to cross this after every sauna session to get outside, which slightly impaired relaxation. The hotel is ideal for a combination of golf and wellness break. If you want to focus exclusively on wellness, an expansion of the relaxation area would be desirable. Overall, however, a highly recommended house with a high feel-good factor.

Nice location, good ambience, very friendly and motivated staff = The basis for satisfied customers! We had another lovely evening in the bar. In addition to the good selection of whiskey, the dishes (club sandwich and Achental Burger), which are beautifully presented and served freshly prepared, should also be highlighted. We recently had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful wellness hotel and can highly recommend it! The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting, perfect for getting away from it all. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, which made the stay even more pleasant. We would especially like to thank Louis Steinle again. The spa area ensured complete relaxation. We were also impressed by the culinary delicacies - healthy but tasty dishes that pampered the palate. We leave this hotel not only refreshed, but also with great memories.

Addition on December 10, 2024: I have corrected the overall rating from four to three stars. Original text: Although I'm not an overnight guest, I often use the lounge/bar area. I, but also others, have often noticed that sometimes there are two to four employees at the reception, they don't have a guest to look after and they see you entering the hotel but no "Grüß Gott", "Hello", etc., let alone polite eye contact express. Unfortunately, the same is often the case when leaving the hotel via the main entrance. The reception is like a business card for the hotel and forms the first impression of many guests. A short greeting or farewell is not too much to ask and enriches the well-being of everyone involved. I, as well as others, also noticed a lack of cleanliness at times. Dust, crumbs, dirt on windows, etc. are unavoidable, but if these are not removed in a hotel like this, sometimes for weeks, then as a regular guest like me you have your doubts. So also take a look behind curtains, under upholstery and between the cracks of an armchair or couch. There is also an increased need for cleaning in the area of the generally accessible toilets, as human remains can sometimes be heard in certain places over a longer period of time. Some time ago I had a somewhat disturbing experience for such a hotel. I dropped by spontaneously and was the only guest in the bar/lounge area. I greeted an employee and ordered a cappuccino. If I'm not mistaken it was the manager of the wine shop. He said that he was not responsible but a colleague. But no colleague was visible and I assumed that it would be sent to the colleague. After waiting for a while, I went to the colleague who was now there, but he didn't know anything, apologized sincerely and immediately served the cappuccino. This colleague is not to blame, but the gentleman from the wine shop was standing around, obviously had nothing to do and did not pass on the simple information regarding a customer's request. That doesn't have to be the case because as a guest I certainly don't run after the staff! I and some other guests noticed a sometimes intense smell of chlorine, which sometimes extends to the terrace. My criticism may seem small-minded, but if the Achental wants to play in the upper league then the air regarding mishaps becomes thin and even banal mistakes have to be avoided. I would be happy to respond constructively to further points.

Our stay at the Achental Resort was wonderful. The hotel, decorated for Christmas, immediately put us in the Christmas spirit. On the first evening we had a wonderful dinner in the Weisser Hirsch restaurant, with first-class service. In addition, the breakfast selection left nothing to be desired. What is particularly noteworthy is that many regional dishes were offered. I also took advantage of the time and booked a head, neck and shoulder massage. Elisabeth's massage was first class and her service was particularly sensitive from start to finish. I would like to thank you very much for this special highlight. My family and friends have been loyal and enthusiastic guests of the hotel for many years, both in the hotel area and in the spa and restaurant. Unfortunately, there has been a negative trend over the last few years, which I would like to address in this review. But first I would like to praise the friendly and polite staff. The criticism is directed at the decisions and style of the management level, which is less and less in favor of the guests. Over several years it can be observed that the hotel is trying to increase its popularity and make full use of its capacities. Unfortunately, this does not take into account the fact that the hotel structures are not designed for this high level of occupancy or have been adapted. There is overcrowding in the spa area and in the restaurants. The result is long waiting times, which in combination with the sharply increased prices leads to considerable frustration - not exactly what you want from a visit to the wellness hotel. The price adjustments are also becoming more and more absurd: An average club sandwich at the bar costs €27 Spa membership has already increased significantly in price several times and is facing a further increase of several hundred euros. This is justified by a planned renovation of the spa areas, which, however, will not be completed for several months. Personally, I don't think this pricing is appropriate. Even if you can afford it, it is questionable whether you want to support such practices. It's also not possible that the showers in a 5-star luxury hotel don't work properly. Repairs also take a long time. All of this no longer corresponds to what the Achental once stood for. Since I have already read similar reviews, I hope that the guests' criticism will be taken seriously.

The good first: Only the very friendly staff is worth the price! Although the hotel is very nice, it seems interchangeable and has nothing special to set it apart. The location is also a bit away from the Chiemgau highlights, which is due to the golf course. But I've seen that differently too. The price/performance ratio is not right at all, which in our opinion is due to the management. Since I work in quality management myself, I can assess this somewhat. In this category I can expect to receive a confirmation email if I book at short notice (6 days). Nothing came, not even after 3 calls. Demand. Worse still, when we checked in we were registered, but no one could tell us what exactly was included in the arrangement. But the friendly staff took care of it and helped us as much as they could! At check-in we were assured that as house guests we could of course have dinner at the Hirsch at any time. On Saturday evening we were asked for a reservation, but there was enough space. There was also space on Sunday, but apparently everything was fully booked. Once again we were able to rely on the staff, who made it possible for not only us but about 8 other guests to eat. The food itself is very good, including breakfast (where it works without any problems), but it is very overpriced. Is that because of the attached star restaurant? By the way, we got a table at very short notice. Unfortunately no one could or wanted to tell us anything about food, conditions or a price. We were only told that we wouldn't get this chance again for another six months. We refused. Too bad! Why exactly is the communication going so badly? Not because of the staff, who do their best at every turn. But it would be good if everyone didn't have to be everywhere. By the way, the golf department shows how you can do it better (separate review). The rooms themselves were as described, simply beautiful, but whether they were worth the very high price is questionable. Finally: We would definitely like to come back for this staff, the hotel still needs to work on itself.

A super nice hotel to relax, slow down and relax. Of course you can also hike, bike and golf. The hotel has great facilities and a wonderful ambience. It's expensive, but if you want to treat yourself and do something good, then you've definitely come to the right place. The breakfast buffet is a dream and really leaves nothing to be desired in terms of selection and abundance of food. You can also have a fantastic dinner and have a choice of 3 different restaurants in the house as well as a small snack menu at the bar.

My wife only told me yesterday about the incident in the Hotel Das Achental. We spent a weekend in February with our children in this beautiful hotel and also had a very nice party with our friends. The room has great service, a large pool and a great environment for children. On the second day we were at the bar and a member of staff with a Spanish background was chatting to my wife as she once lived in Spain and still speaks Spanish very well. What was noticeable that day was that he often came to our table and communicated with her very often, even though I was sitting next to him. Until then, no problem. The following day my wife was at the bar with her friends and I was already in the room with the children. She was flirted with a lot again. Then when she paid, he forced a conversation on her by talking about himself and his daughter, which made my wife very uncomfortable, but she listened out of politeness. After she ended the call, he called after her, “See you next time, baby.” If my wife had told me this event directly, I would have confronted this employee directly. I'm not the type of person to be jealous, but in a house like this you should expect professional behavior towards guests.

This review refers exclusively to the bar! As a local, I also enjoy being a regular guest at “Das Achental”. My visits primarily relate to the restaurants in the building. I would like to share my experience of my last visit to the bar with friends. I also like to meet outside of my private home for a nice evening in “Das Achental”. I really like the beautiful ambience and the comfort. Then why do I only give 3 stars? The pricing of the small dishes at the bar should be reconsidered. We are in a better hotel, but still at a "bar". Personally, I find the fact that a club sandwich now costs €27 a bit too high, as the cost of goods does not justify the price. Since I unfortunately received a somewhat dry sandwich on my penultimate visit, this time I asked if it would be possible to get a little more sauce on it. The waiter said that this was possible, but only with an additional charge of €5. I also had to wait over an hour for my food, other tables that came well after me got their food before me. To be honest, this upset me. Some time ago there was even some free bread with spreads, but unfortunately that's no longer available despite the increased prices. Since I can easily afford the food, but I'm already thinking about whether I want to, I also have the challenge that some friends no longer want to afford it and refuse to meet at "Das Achental". Finally, I would like to point out that we want to be a little more consistent when it comes to making reservations at the bar. I was repeatedly told that there were no reservations at the bar, which is perfectly fine. However, when I have the experience of reading "Reserved" on many tables at the bar, I wonder what standard is being used here. I will monitor to see if there are any changes and will be happy to adjust my rating accordingly

Service and other staff were very nice and quick. It's a nice place to sit and it's close to the theme park. Many children eat. But you can tell that they don't have regular customers or people who like to come to eat. Next time we'll take a snack with us and not eat out because it's not good (for us adults, fries always work)
