Danzturm in Iserlohn

The Danzturm above the Literaturhotel is considered the landmark of the city of Iserlohn in the middle of the city forest on the Fröndenberg. It is a former location of telegraph station No. 43 on the Berlin-Koblenz route from 1832 - 1849. The replica of the telegraph pole has been installed since 1996. The observation tower was inaugurated in 1909 and named after Prof. Dr. Danz, member of the "Iserlohn Beautification Association" and later founding member of the Sauerland Mountain Association in Iserlohn.

We were invited to a wedding and were totally impressed by the great view, the ambience in the guest rooms and the friendly staff. From our point of view, what was particularly worth highlighting was the food. No matter whether the meat, the side dishes, antipasti, dessert or the vegetarian variations, everything was cooked to perfection and tasted excellent. We will definitely come here again for dinner with friends. If there were more stars, you would have earned them.

We celebrated our wedding at the Danzturm. What Dimi and his team do and offer is unimaginable! The food/buffet was excellent and prepared with so much love and the service was always friendly and very attentive until late into the night. There is nothing to complain about. Dimi was always available for us during the preparations. Visited for the first time. The dish is the farmer's pan, except that the sauce could have been a bit creamier, we were extremely satisfied. The staff is very friendly and extremely attentive. Very clear recommendation, price performance is okay.

We celebrated a 60th birthday there with 70 guests. The team tastefully decorated the interior and we decorated the terrace ourselves. The many large parasols made it a cozy atmosphere. The view is great. What stands out, however, is the service and the food. We had a fixed price per person including all, absolutely all, drinks. The buffet was plentiful and tasted good. The service was great, quick, attentive and incredibly friendly. Mr. Moscholidis and his team ensured that it was an absolutely successful celebration. I can fully recommend the restaurant as a location for a larger celebration. Thanks to the Danzturm team!!!

Rarely have I been to such a good restaurant. Not only is the staff super friendly and attentive, the food is also super tasty and comes very quickly. The Iserlohn mustard soup is particularly recommended!

Excellent local and regional food plus the best of German food. We loved their outside patio with the beautiful views overlooking Iserlohn and the nearby Sauerland. The Danztower can be visited until late, too. Must see when you are in the area. Very good service.

A very nicely located restaurant with a terrace. Here I have a very nice view (also in the restaurant). The food is plentiful and tastes very good. I had veal liver with onions and mashed potatoes. The liver was tender and juicy. Delicious. Special requests were accepted and implemented. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It's worth a visit here. Be sure to reserve. It was very well attended for us. It is not wheelchair accessible, you have to climb stairs to get into the restaurant and there are stairs to climb in the restaurant.

Yesterday we had dinner here again for years. There is now a new owner. Everything went very quickly, the drinks and food were at the table very quickly, and the staff were very friendly! One of the waitresses has been working there for a very, very long time and is a complete professional! 👌🏼 Unfortunately, a few things bothered us while eating, even though it was delicious. But apparently a lot of convenience products are used, which I think is a shame, especially given the very high prices! This didn't exist before. The pork loin with Gorgonzola sauce was accompanied by what appeared to be frozen rösti (triangular!). They weren't bad, but it's not a big deal to make fresh hash browns from grated potatoes. And what I didn't like at all was the dressing for the "market salad", which was definitely a finished product and I didn't find it tasty at all, unfortunately! Is it so complicated to make a simple salad dressing from yogurt and herbs? And the salad was also unfortunately an indictment, because coleslaw, grated carrots, canned corn, a piece of tomato and some cucumber salad, every chip shop can do that. For a dish that costs over €21, I actually expect a decent salad with homemade dressing. Maybe this is a bit of a harsh criticism, but I found these supplements to be of better quality under the previous owner. But the location is always really great! Unfortunately it was very foggy yesterday, but when the weather is good the panorama there is wonderful! I'm curious to see whether anything changes with the supplements after the criticism.

Today (because it's in season) we ate asparagus with Serano ham and fried salmon! We enjoyed it very much and can recommend it at any time! The service is very competent and friendly! We'll definitely be back!!

Nice view from the signal tower. Beautiful paths, popular MTB area. Restaurant not yet tested, the waiter would do well with less perfume, it is unpleasant for many people when they smell it outside.

We haven't been there for a while and only now saw the change in ownership. The location is just great when the weather is nice 👍 and the view is amazing. Nothing has changed in the ambience or external appearance. The service was very nice and attentive. Everything came quickly and quickly. The food is good and tastes good. I would have liked a little more pizzazz in the dishes. You cut out the stalks of the tomatoes so you don't serve them to your guests. I also find one 🍅 that can only be quartered, a bit coarse and difficult to eat.... I couldn't find a salad dressing, which is a shame.

With a beautiful view, you can sit here, eat or even climb the tower. The steps could be swept. The service is great, the food is ok.

We visited this restaurant yesterday on the recommendation of the taxi family business owner Taxi Molitor, Mr. Molitor. And we were amazed because we were pleasantly surprised! There is no hint or trace of a “tourist rip-off”, as we unfortunately often experience! Very clean and well-arranged, hospitably furnished restaurant, and the outside area has actually not been forgotten because of its good care! Friendly, absolutely attentive reception and also accommodating. We were particularly pleased that the operators were also able to score points with us with a clear and reasonably priced children's menu! The typical, heartless and unhealthy fast food, especially for children, is not offered here. And our son really enjoyed the deliciously prepared, crispy fish fingers with great side dishes! The market salad served to my wife and others - it couldn't be fresher or tastier! The Cannelloni Al Forno I ate was a poem in terms of taste! Absolutely no skimping on the minced meat filling and gratinated cheese, and then rounded off the taste with spices! The many regular guests are further proof that everything is still harmonious here in this beautiful location! Please continue! Because we would also love to come back here soon!

Excellent, everything is right, food, service

I was invited to my 90th birthday and the food was excellent. Large portions and plenty of choice. There was something for every taste. The service was also very good, I felt like I was in good hands. The view from up there was nice too. I can recommend it to everyone!

It is certainly one of the most beautiful viewpoints south of Münsterland in the Märkischer Kreis with a view north of the Haarstrang - the last chain of hills before the Münsterland plain and the Münsterland itself! Even without a restaurant - but - if not a closed company - open - in good weather - in the beer garden a pleasure experience☑️☑️☑️

We came here to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent, I'd recommend the schnitzel. Everything else looked very good. The portions are huge. There is a huge space outside which was good for keeping our toddler entertained pre and post food.

Very plentiful and tasted great. Next time I'll leave the salad out of the starter, it was just too much in hindsight to complete the main course. Unfortunately I didn't manage that either. And a great view over Iserlohn in the dark.

Sehr schönes Lokal. Nette prompte Bedienung, trotz vollem Laden. Speisen und Getränke waren sehr gut. Tolle Aussicht übers Sauerland. Für die hässlichen Hochhäuser in Iserlohn kann der Gastronom ja nichts.

Wir hatten 10 verschiedene Gerichte, die nach sehr kurzer Wartezeit serviert. Es waren große Portionen, die sehr gut aussahen und auch allen geschmeckt haben. Der Service war freundlich und schnell, es wurde nachgefragt ob alles OK ist, noch was fehlt usw. Allen hat es sehr gut gefallen 🔝

Wir waren auf unserem Geburtstagen jetzt immer da und es war ein sehr gutes Essen und ein sehr freundliche Bedienung, die auch zwischen drin fragte ob alles in Ordnung sei. Der Preis passt zum Essen und ist nach meiner Meinung nicht zu teuer. Im Sommer ist die Aussicht zwar schöner aber auch da gibt es nichts zu meckern.

Der Danzturm war immer schon eine gute Adresse. Aber das der neue Besitzer es schafft in jeglicher Hinsicht noch eine Schippe drauf zu legen hat mich überrascht. Super Serviceteam, aufmerksam und freundlichen. Eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten, auch für Veggis und Veganer. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist gut und auf jedenfall angemessen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Lg

Hier ist man als Gast willkommen, das Essen wie immer köstlich, gutes Preis Leistung Verhältnis...

Hier stimmt alles! Mir gefiel das Essen, der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Speisen sind komplett selbstgemacht und absolut zu empfehlen. Das Steak war perfekt! Ich komme gerne wieder!

Wir hatten nur Kaffee und Kuchen...war aber lecker. Parkplätze direkt am Haus.

Alles top! Ich nehme mir vor jeden mal etwas anders zu bestellen und lande immer wieder der Kalbsleder!! Soooo lecker

Es war eine Empfehlung und wir haben die Zeit genossen - nicht nur sitzt man sehr schön beim Essen, auch kann man einen kleinen Spaziergang nach dem Essen unternehmen um den Turm herum.

Ein tolles Lokal mit atemberaubender Aussicht. Tolles essen zu super Preisen. Hier geht es definitiv bald wieder hin. Einzig der Weg nach oben bzw unten ist sehr Eng und man muss bangen dass einem kein anderer PKW entgegen kommt.
