Friendly staff, meat quality was not good, steaks had a large layer of fat and tendons, fried potatoes were swimming in oil, but the fries were good.

Yesterday was our first time at the Goldgräber restaurant. We rarely treat ourselves to eating out, so it was meant to be something special. The service was absolutely terrible; the server had to write our order on a piece of paper because she didn't speak German. The table candle wasn't lit either. Tables that became vacant weren't wiped down or reset (at least we didn't see it happening). I had the Rancher schnitzel... I mean, I could buy processed meat schnitzel at the supermarket; it was simply disgusting. It came with a handful of potato wedges that weren't even homemade. And all of this for €28.90!!! Never again!!!

We've been going to the Gold Digger regularly for many years. We've never been disappointed. The food is always delicious, and the steaks (almost) always cooked to perfection. And if they're not, that can happen. Ask politely and they'll help you. We've been there several times now, even since the change of ownership, and we already know it's going to be our "favorite Indian restaurant." We've also used the catering service. Excellent advice and very tasty food in very generous quantities. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

The burgers are very large and incredibly delicious, the fillet tips were super tender, and the dessert was also fantastic. It's best to pre-order at least three days in advance. They'll call you back and take care of it. For example, we were asked in advance if we had any birthday guests. One table was then specially decorated.

So, a somewhat different kind of restaurant in Westerstiel. Great, highly recommended.

If you're looking for a truly modest meal, this is the place for you. The food arrived after 2.5 hours and was cold on the first attempt. It came warm the second time, but the steak was completely dry, stringy, and completely burnt on the outside. Unfortunately, we had to return several meals, and the food that was served later was also of absolutely substandard quality! But we weren't the only ones who had this experience. What has happened to such a good restaurant?

You hear that the meat is often undercooked. That was also the case during our visit. The men's restroom was quite dirty, which is a shame. I don't think we'll be coming back again.

Highly recommended. We recently ate there while on vacation. The staff welcomed us with great friendliness. You can tell they love their job. We were there shortly before the kitchen closed and were still able to order. The food was brought to us and was 10/10. We were very happy there and would definitely eat there again next time.

Went there twice on the weekend on Friday or great on Saturday. Very disappointing. We only got our food 1 hour and 20 minutes after ordering. It's a shame, otherwise great quality

So unfortunately a lot of things aren't right here. The food is disproportionate to the price. 20€ for a dry burger without any side dish. The service is an absolute disaster. We waited 1.5 hours for our food. In the first hour the waitress came by exactly 0 times.

Die Speisekarte hält was sie verspricht! Alle Gerichte die wir gewählt hatten waren sehr lecker! Steaks waren auf den Punkt nach Wunsch gegart und zart. Sehr große Portionen. Preis / Leistung passt. Sehr freundliche Bewirtung. Gemütliches Ambiente, liebevoll im Western Style eingerichtet. Man muss kleinere Wartezeiten einplanen, aber man bekommt dafür frisch zubereitete, qualitativ gute Speisen serviert! Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder ! :)

Very friendly welcome and service, our large dog was also welcome and was immediately given a bowl of water. Unfortunately we were very disappointed this time! Right from the start we weren't even allowed to keep a card at the table for additional drinks or possible dessert. So you always had to first ask whether they had the drink. Annoying! The highlight was the glass shards in the starter. The request for a price reduction was not addressed. When paying we had to ask again what the compensation was for the broken glass in the food. Then the waitress suddenly said that she had completely forgotten about it. And quickly took out a small bottle of schnapps. I said I still have to drive. But there was no alternative. I find it very poor for such a serious mistake! My friend also wanted a large glass of whiskey and cola, but that wasn't possible! He absolutely had to order two small ones one after the other.

Reservations are an advantage and you should definitely bring your time. A good steak takes time. According to the restaurant, about 40 minutes In terms of price it is in the upper midfield but it is consistent and justified. A new building that looks older or country 🤘. The food was fresh and tasted good but “very extensive”. I know that Bad Düben is a spa town and therefore seems to be subject to a special pricing policy, but let's be honest: €40 for a “normal” steak and €22 for a burger - you have to want that. With all the love of beef, I've been eating on Thursdays every week for 25 years. As long as I can get a schnitzel or Rostbrätel from a German host for 18€, or even the most expensive gourmet Greek restaurant for 20€, and it also tastes very good, I won't spend 40€ on a steak. It just takes me too long for €40 of my money to remain. That may all be in the eye of the beholder - but I find the offer there to be significantly too expensive.

Very nice atmosphere (you wouldn't expect it from the outside). Nice service and very good quality of food. A little more expensive, but you can notice the difference in quality compared to other restaurants with pre-prepared dishes. Definitely worth the money.

Two of us had dinner in the restaurant on Valentine's Day. The food is tasty and we think the ambience is very good. We can only recommend the restaurant. The only drawback is the small parking lot, but you can also walk a few steps to the large parking lot near the apartment blocks. So you shouldn't postpone a visit because of the parking spaces. The quality of the food and the friendly service are recommended. Keep it up.

It was very tasty with you, a small note my wife had the turkey steak with oven vegetables that looked like imperial vegetables from the bag, the plate didn't look quite as tasty either but everything 👍

The dishes were, as always, very tasty. We had fillet twice and 2 burgers (4 people). Very well prepared, handcrafted dishes. However, you should allow around 45-60 minutes before eating. The ambience is good, but is already a bit old. The owner is planning his exit, so it's understandable. As long as he continues, you should take a look there.

A "steakhouse" where the chef knows how steaks are prepared. We ordered beef fillet steak and ostrich fillet steak. It was very tasty to watch, and that was actually just a foretaste. We like to eat medium or medium rare, and that's exactly how they were cooked. Fillet meat is naturally very tender meat, and here it was very noticeable. A real culinary delight. The side dishes are also very tasty. The service is friendly and otherwise in a great mood. The ambience fully corresponds to the description. This small, chic restaurant is worth one or more visits. We will definitely eat there again when we have a craving for steaks. We recommend.

I've often had bad luck because I go out to eat late, unfortunately the kitchen is closed... but today I was there early. 8:30 p.m. I will definitely go there “early” again.

Für Steak Freunde genau das Richtige. Hier bekommt man sein Steak nach Wunsch. Und Wer mal kein Steak will, kommt trotzdem auf seinen Geschmack. Denn es gibt noch vieles mehr, als nur Steak & auch Vegetarier finden etwas auf der Karte. Das Personal ist super freundlich & das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt auch. Wer den Flair des Wilden Westens erleben will, ist hier genau an der richtigen Stelle. Kostenlose Parkplätze sind vor Ort. Das Lokal ist immer voll, von daher muss man unbedingt reservieren. Ich wünsche schon mal “Guten Appetit“.

Mein Essen war sehr gut, man muss halt etwas warten- aber steht auch so auf der Karte. Die Cocktails waren sehr lecker.

Die Steaks und das Essen insgesamt sind sehr zu empfehlen. Das Ambiente ist o.k. Die Lage direkt an der Hauptstrasse für den Außenbereich etwas ungünstig. Die Preise passen nicht ganz zum Essen, dem Ambiente oder dem Service. Hier ist die Selbstwahrnehmung etwas gestört.

Das Goldgräber Restaurant mag von Innen sehr dem Country Stil entsprechen aber der Außenbereich ist nicht wirklich gemütlich. Einige Pflanzen waren sogar verwelkt. Die Wartezeit des Essens betrug 1h, was für mein Empfinden deutlich zu lang ist, egal wie voll die Hütte ist. Zu unserem Besuch waren noch einige Tische draußen frei. Hungrig erwartend kam unser Essen, jedoch wurde mein Essen mit der falschen Beilage serviert, wodurch ich erneut 5 Minuten warten musste und meine Begleitung schon fast fertig war. Ich würde nur wiederkommen, wenn das Ambiente im Außenbereich besser wird beziehungsweise besser gepflegt wird, die Wartezeit wirklich von Max. 40 Minuten eingehalten wird und keine Fehler bei der Bestellung passieren.

Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und so ausreichend, dass mit den phänomenalen Pancakes zum Nachtisch der Bauch schön voll war! Sehr empfehlenswert !!!

I really loved the food, the atmosphere and especially the service, everyone is really nice and friendly. I will come again and I totally recommend it to everyone.

Wir feierten hier einen 18. Geburtstag und hatten einen schönen Tisch. Essen top, der Rest zumindest ausbaufähig! Die Filetsteaks waren wirklich lecker und tatsächlich so, wie wir sie haben wollten. Jeder gewählte Garpunkt stimmte. Auch die Beilagen waren durchweg sehr ansprechend. Jetzt kostet so ein Gericht und dann der ganze Abend schon eine ganze Menge. Dafür hätten wir uns beispielsweise angewärmte Teller gewünscht, die Zubereitung für 7 Personen dauerte ca. 1 Stunde, auch wenn zu unserer Zeit wirklich nicht viel los war. Und wir auch wussten, es dauert. Aber so lange?! Und zu guter Letzt. Der Unterschied zum einem klassischen Steakhaus oder einer Restaurantkette liegt doch in Bad Düben daran, dass das Restaurant Inhabergeführt ist. Der Inhaber hatte auch die ganze Zeit Blickkontakt zu uns. Und er sprach und verabschiedete sich auch bei einigen Stammgästen sehr deutlich. Wir gehörten nicht zu den Stammgästen. Aber auch aufgrund des besonderen Anlasses, den wir bei der Reservierung mit angaben, hatten wir zumindest geglaubt, dass hier zumindest ein persönlicher Gruß kommt. 3 Schritte, alles Gute zum Geburtstag - das wars. Nichts! Absolut nichts! Und deshalb war der Abend ziemlich professionell, doch absolut nicht persönlich und deutlich ausbaufähig.

Eine absolute Bereicherung in der Steakszene. Hervorragendes Fleisch absolut auf den Punkt gegart. Bereits mehrmals im Restaurant gewesen und niemals enttäuscht. Ein Tip an den Besitzer, Spinat wäre noch eine Ergänzung der Beilagen.

Nach unserem Besuch in Torgau haben wir auf dem Weg zurück in unsere Unterkunft in Zschepplin eine Gaststätte fürs Abendessen gesucht. Auf Google Maps sind wir aufs Goldgräber gestossen. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart und sehr lecker. Die Servicekräfte nett und effizient. Wir waren mit dem Abend mehr als zufrieden. Dieses Lokal können wir nur empfehlen. Tolles westernstyle Ambiente. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, erhielten wir trotzdem einen Tisch. Danke.
