Leckeres Essen. Aber sehr bekannt, deshalb wenn man nicht so viel Zeit hat vielleicht vorher telefonisch vorbestellen. Ist immer sehr voll.

Mantaplatte zum mitnehmen bestellt. Die Mayonnaise schmeckte als wäre sie nicht mehr haltbar. Die Qualität vom Fleisch war außerdem nicht empfehlenswert - Magen verdorben!!!

Das Gyros ist viel zu trocken und zu salzig. Als der Kellner den Nachbartisch abräumte, machte er einen enormen Lärm und nahm überhaupt keine Rücksicht auf die anderen Gäste.

Hatte mich auf eine, der im Netz als Top 10 Currywurst in Essen gefreut. Leider nur 5 von 10 Punkten. Schmeckt, wie in jeder 2. Pommesbude. NIX besonderes. Wurst, normal, Sauce 08/15, Pommes, wie überall und Majo, Massenware. Schade. Hatg eschmeckt, ABER ganz normal alles.

Der Imbiss genießt im Ort seit vielen Jahren einen guten Ruf. Die Auswahl ist groß, vieles wirkt frisch und hausgemacht, das Personal ist freundlich und die Zubereitung geht schnell. Auch der Laden selbst macht einen sauberen Eindruck. Geschmacklich überzeugt das Essen insgesamt, auch wenn es bei meinem letzten Besuch eine kleine Schwäche gab. Was allerdings auffällt, sind die inzwischen recht hohen Preise – hier wäre etwas mehr Konstanz und vielleicht das ein oder andere attraktive Kombi-Angebot wünschenswert. Insgesamt eine gute Adresse mit solider Qualität, preislich jedoch im oberen Bereich – daher 4 Sterne.

Braten oder Schnitzel, ein schneller Snack auf die Hand, oder Mal richtig gut essen gehen -hier ist man immer an der richtigen Adresse.

We come here about every two weeks and have already tried half the menu. This is my first 5-star review because the quality of the food is consistently high. Everything is always fresh and the portions are generous. The value for money is excellent. The staff is quick and very friendly. The numerous traditional German dishes are also highly recommended.

I've loved coming here ever since. From currywurst to gyros to a large schnitzel plate: everything is just right here. The menu is huge: burgers, wraps, classic home-style dishes with ham hock, pork knuckle, meatloaf – there's something for everyone to enjoy here. But: The Taxi Plate is the absolute highlight for me. Gyros with onions and currywurst + fries – simply incredibly delicious and a generous portion. Plus, super friendly staff, generous portions, good value for money, and an atmosphere where you can tell they put their heart and soul into their work. I'll definitely be back – and I highly recommend it to everyone: If you're in Essen, you should eat here! 👌🍟🌭

This snack bar is a legend in the village thanks to its previous owner, "Nieding." Positives: Large selection, much of it very fresh and homemade, very friendly staff, quick service, clean shop. Cons: Too frequent and too high price increases. You can sometimes see from the outside price board that prices have been changed three or four times in a very short space of time. A fries currywurst costs around €7.50 with mayo... that's a bit steep. And once you're inside the shop, you can smell like a snack bar, unfortunately. My knuckle of pork was ice cold on the inside last time... unfortunately... but the food is really good there. Just a bit too expensive... A few specials like fries currywurst with a drink for €8.50 would be cool.

The City Grill may be small, but it's perfectly formed – and what you get here is genuine, home-style cooking with quality. The chef still cooks himself, and you can simply taste that the food is prepared fresh daily using natural ingredients and according to old family recipes. We're especially enthusiastic about the homemade specialties from the in-house butcher shop: shashlik skewers, meatballs, hamburgers, and sausage skewers with onions – all lovingly made by hand. And the sauerbraten? A dream! It's allowed to mature here in peace, and you can taste it. Grilled knuckle of pork, pork knuckle, smoked pork, and aspic – served with creamy mashed potatoes, spicy red cabbage, or crispy fried potatoes – these are now an integral part of the menu for many regulars (including us!). I haven't been there in a long time, and you have your reasons. My wife persuaded me today to get something to eat, and once again I was disappointed. The schnitzel was burnt, covered in thick, creamy sauce, the fries were soggy, and the food was just disgusting. I should have donated the money instead.

Super delicious, they have just about everything. And you wouldn't believe it... the line stretched all the way out, and I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes.

City Grill Kupferdreh – aka Nieding Hey, when someone in Kupferdreh says "Nieding," they don't mean a person. They mean cult. They mean currywurst. They mean fries that are crispier than a Bockwurst at 200 degrees Celsius. My dad ate a sausage there while my mom was in labor in the delivery room. And now, almost 50 years later, the place still stands there like a monument with a sauce stain. The sausage? A hit. Shashlik? Tender as butter. Fries? Ruhrpott gold. Schnitzel? They can do it too. The place is running like the Kupferdreh volunteer fire department on fries alert. Go in, order, sit down, and voila, the food is in front of you. There's a restroom, so everything's fine. Review? Yeah. The chicken is more for a quick snack between thoughts. And with the prices, you sometimes wonder whether this is just a chip shop or a fancy restaurant. Butcher-quality, minimum wage, cult status notwithstanding, at some point it starts to hurt your wallet. But for Ruhrpott soul, honest frying craftsmanship, and a sausage that's made history, you can certainly dig a little deeper into your pockets. Because: Nieding isn't a snack bar. Nieding is family.

I've known this snack bar since the 70s. Today I had the meatloaf with gravy, red cabbage, and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was okay, the gravy wasn't worth mentioning. I just brushed it on. The red cabbage was dressed in the old way, but now it's dry as a slag. The mashed potatoes are probably powdered, but they're okay. Overall, everything's more expensive than anywhere else, but the quality shouldn't be diminished.

The food is of a good standard. The fries could be a bit firmer. Unfortunately, the sauce on the Jägerschnitzel wasn't as tasty as I've experienced elsewhere. The ambiance has been modernly renovated, and the staff is on top of everything and is always very friendly and prompt, even when things get hectic.

Delicious and generous portions...great value for money. You just have to wait, as the grill is in demand...and the atmosphere is accordingly...but great for a city grill.

We regularly travel to Kupferdreh to the City Grill. My wife is a self-confessed gyros pita fan. My favorite is the Westphalian Schnitzel, but today I also tried a portion of gyros. Extremely delicious. The quality is right and the service staff is super friendly. We always enjoy coming to City Grill.

In terms of taste, this snack bar is certainly one of the top addresses. The ambiance and cleanliness are also exemplary. However, it loses one star for the price: A Jägerschnitzel with fries and a small salad, plus a small drink, costs over €20, which is definitely restaurant-level. If that's not a price you can't afford, this is the place for you!

Highly recommended. This grill feels like it's been around forever. I was in Kupferdreh over 20 years ago, as I worked there for a long time. We always went there for currywurst with fries. We did it again this time. Absolutely delicious. The fries have the right color and consistency, and they're not soggy. Everything is top-notch.

I just ate one of the best rounds in Germany. Excellent taste, very clean shop and very kind staff. We will definitely come again. Thanks to Google for showing it to us.

Shish kebab sauce is absolutely ketchup-LOAD and hardly any onions on the shish kebab. with mini salad €13.20 Price-performance ratio only 1 star. PS: IN MUNICH! It's cheaper in many good restaurants - not in the snack bar! Everyone has to know that for themselves. Very good for many decades, but not cheap compared to Burgaltendorf or Bredeney.

I went to City Grill for the first time today and had a great, relaxing visit. You are greeted very friendly and ordering doesn't take long. The Taxi Platter was just perfect for my taste. Price with drink around €16, absolutely okay. Not cheap, not expensive, just a decent, reasonable price. I would love to come back!
