You are happy about every delay and every train cancellation in Mannheim. One of the best kebab / yufka in the Rhine-Neckar area.

Falafel yufka was very good and a huge portion. The flatbread was freshly made. I wish that was the case in my hometown. I would come again!

Just got a kebab. Positive things first: salad tasted fresh. Negative: Little content, only chicken, no lamb/veal, not a good mix of meat and salad Sauce was OK.

I don't understand the bad rating at all. The boys are always funny and the kebab is top notch. The chicken is so juicy and the salad is always fresh. The bread is homemade! Whenever I'm in Mannheim, the first place I go is City Döner. You can also sit outside in the evening and watch the vibrant city.

Unfortunately, the quality has noticeably declined in the last few months. I used to really enjoy being here. The only thing that's right here is the portion size...

I used to enjoy coming here and the food was always good, but over the years the quality has declined more and more and the meat tasted more and more like nothing. I think the fact that I got a stomach ache after eating was too severe. The employees are really friendly, but I miss the old days. Where the kebab wasn't so greasy and tasted like nothing but vegetables, meat and sauce...

Here you get something for your money! Above all, the yufka for the Dürüm is freshly baked! It's rare or even non-existent in Mannheim!

All in all OK, but nothing special. Yufka hardly had any meat filling, service was OK for the train station. Prices quite high for Yufka €8, fries €5 So it can, but it doesn’t have to…

The yufka was very filling and very tasty. Respect to the staff for working in the heat and next to the grill! Lots of hate comments, probably a lot from the competition too! This is a fast food restaurant and not a Michelin restaurant. Maybe many people have forgotten.

This was the worst yufka I've ever eaten: dry bread, bland ingredients and a sauce with no taste. Pure disappointment, never again!

I've eaten here several times or gotten food to take away, the kebab and durum taste good and are okay in terms of price, nothing you really have to go to, but if you're hungry you can't go wrong here.

Guys, the saying “best kebab in Mannheim” is meant ironically and is a running joke on reddit. The kebab is only acceptable because it is open around the clock, otherwise it is a bad kebab, much too dry and the meat is of poor quality. But if you happen to be drunk at 2:30 a.m. at the main station, you can eat it. But please, please, don’t let the running gag “best kebab” fool you hahaha 😅

Despite all these negative reviews, I tried this kebab myself today. And I have to say - the negative reviews are not justified! All I can say is, make up your own mind. The kebab meat - even if it's chicken - is super juicy, the bread is crunchy, the fries are swimming pool fries style and the garlic sauce is also really good, sauce selection is also okay - yogurt, garlic and hot sauce! The team was a bit hectic but still very competent!

I was introduced to this kebab shop by a friend. He said that it was one of the best kebabs in Mannheim. The store was busy, which initially seemed a good sign. The kebab itself was solid, but nothing special in my opinion. Unfortunately, while eating I discovered that there were a total of three pieces of cartilage in my kebab. This significantly affected the mouthfeel and took away my appetite. Cartilage in meat is an absolute no-go for me and has a major impact on the overall impression. Based on this experience, I can unfortunately only give the kebab a 5 out of 10. It's solid, but the bits of cartilage were a significant negative. There are certainly better alternatives in the city.

It’s exactly what you want it to be. Döner bliss for our times. I got the yufka — imagine the perfect marriage of a burrito and a shawarma sandwich that’s the size of a baby. Is it cash only? Well, yes. But it’s so close to the Mannheim train station that you have zero excuse not to go if you’ve got a minute to kill.

A Mannheim veteran. Fast, good kebabs. 🥙 Inflation, particularly due to energy prices (doner kebabs are grilled over gas flames), has also hit here. A kebab 🥙 now costs €7 (as of May 30, 2024). The seating area could use a new coat of paint. Likewise the (men's) 🚾.

Falafel Dürüm was delicious. A selection of sauces would have been nice as there was only a yogurt sauce. The tables outside were neatly wiped down. Soap would have been nice in the toilet. Price is good, portion size too.

I was here a few years ago after long nights of partying....either my taste buds completely failed there or the place went down a lot. I just got a kebab there to take away and was deeply disappointed. €6.50 seems cheap at first glance, but the entire kebab was 3-4 cm in the "thickest" part including the bread... halfway through I decided to get a slice of bread and cheese from the fridge Decided at home...so the taste was very improved. Ambience...well, what do you expect from a kebab shop.... Service/friendliness was absolutely fine...

The buns were grilled with butter, the filling was juicy and the sauces were mouth watering. I visited on 01.05.2024 and I still can feel the yummy taste in my mouth. Most recommended. The staff is good too.

I was here, on the 29th of august, 2023. We passed by Mannheim by train and had a delay, so we decided to get some kebab. The first month afterwards, I thought about this kebab every single day. It’s now the 19th of April 2024, 8 months later. I probably still think about it every week. Enough to google it and write this declaration of love. I am longing for more, but I live 371km away. Meanwhile, I became a vegetarian. But I will make this one exception. I will come back for you, City Döner. I love you.

So ein ranziger Saftladen. Ich wurde hier voll abgezogen und das Fleisch ist verbrannt, das Gemüse schmeckt wie Gummi und die Soße nach nichts. Der einzige Grund warum man sich erbarmen sollte hier doch hinzugehen ist, wenn man im Suff nachts noch was fressen will.

Such a rancid juice shop. I was completely ripped off here and the meat is burnt, the vegetables taste like rubber and the sauce tastes like nothing. The only reason why you should have pity on going here is if you want to eat something at night when you're drunk.

The yufka / kebab is quite good so far. The meat is a bit dry, just because it's chicken. The filling and size are totally fine. You just have to say that you want more sauce, then you'll get it and it won't be so dry anymore. I've already tried pizza and it was delicious too. Prices are also acceptable. However, card payment could be introduced and the store would generally need a renovation.

It's better to eat something with honest people. It's difficult to get a good kebab anyway, but the routine attempt here to give customers too little change (sometimes 5) is absolutely anti-social.

For me, the place for kebab. For many who come from outside, The Place to go! There were just 5 kebab skewers, each weighing approx. 60-80kg, “basking” in the sun! Since the opening hours at CITY DÖNER are almost around the clock on weekends, all of this is needed! The waiting time is relatively short, despite the many kebab fans. The menu contains everything that pleases the oriental heart, but also pizza 🍕. The meat is made in-house and the bread is always made in-house. I'm always amazed that there are 5-8 people working behind the counter to ensure everything runs smoothly. I always like to come and park in the underground car park because 15 minutes are free and I've never paid anything, so no hassle of looking for a parking space! 🚗 🚕 Hello dear City Döner team Thank you 💚

I ordered a doner plate - the worst thing I've ever eaten. Just the sauce from the industrial tube - - everything inside seems very unhygienic and uninviting. The 15 euros I spent would have been better spent in dog cans and it would certainly have tasted better.

Disappointing Ate Dürum with falafel in the house, nothing outstanding. Bland sauce, little falafel in the roll, a lot of cabbage, little salad, cold and at 7 euros not exactly cheap. I don't understand the hype about the City Döner at all. There are much better houses in the city.

Ich war mit meiner Klasse hier auf einem Ausflug und waren hier essen, zum Döner muss ich sagen war sehr lecker. Ich wurde zwar die ganze Zeit böse angekuckt schmeckt aber gut! 👌

Wirklich bis jetzt bester Döner in Town! Frischer Hähnchen Döner lecker. Service halt stressig, da viel Laufkundschaft. Hat auch an den Feiertagen auf.

Habe Falafel Yufka gegessen. Leider gar nicht empfehlenswert. 7 Euro für ungewürzten Salat. Sehr inspirationslos, keine Empfehlung.
