The food was amazing. The only downside is they only accept cash. Probably the best pizza in all of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Pizzeria Totó e Peppino on Hansaring is a popular Italian restaurant serving authentic Neapolitan pizza. It's incredibly busy, even though the restaurant is rather small. The Pizza Diavola wasn't as spicy as expected, but it was still very tasty and fresh. The antipasti platter, however, was the highlight. The room is quite bright and very noisy, as many people are diners and conversations in a small space.

Simply fantastic, the best pizza I've had in years. I can't say much more than that; I'd give it ten stars if I could, but unfortunately, only five are possible. 👍👍👍

There were five of us at this restaurant, and unfortunately, the service was completely unsatisfactory. We constantly had to call the staff to bring things or clear the tables – even simple requests like a blanket were ignored or taken very long to fulfill. The staff spoke Italian amongst themselves and seemed inattentive, which made us feel uncomfortable. The atmosphere was also uninviting. We didn't enjoy the food; the appetizers and desserts, in particular, were disappointing. Overall, neither the ambiance, the service, nor the food were convincing. I definitely won't be going back there and can't recommend the restaurant to anyone. In my opinion, it doesn't deserve any stars.

I agree with some of the other reviews saying this place is overhyped. They didn’t tell us it was cash only until they made us go to the till to pay. Asked for some tap water to go with food and drinks and they said no which seemed strange but could have been a misunderstanding. Food was just okay, there’s equally nice ones in the area if not better ones.

Personally, I find the ambiance a bit bright and it could be a little cozier. But that doesn't detract from the experience, because the food is truly good and authentic. If you're looking for Neapolitan pizza in Cologne, this is the place to go. Highly recommended! Getting there tip: The S-Bahn and U-Bahn are just around the corner, so save yourself the stress of looking for parking... there are parking spaces across the street, but they're often full. Looking for parking there is really not recommended. 😉

Great pizza and nice place. 2 star for the service not becouse of the staff, they were nice, but in 2025 is really unbelieveble that such an awarded pizzeria goes CASH ONLY. And the bill was higher than expected. Not worth the travel if you are not already in town.

Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The two of us ordered an appetizer and two pizzas. The drinks and appetizer arrived relatively quickly, but the pizzas took over 45 minutes to arrive. When we asked several times, we were told "ready in a minute," while other guests who arrived after us were already getting their food. When we finally wanted to pay for just the drinks and appetizer, the manager insisted that we also pay for the pizzas – even though we hadn't even received them yet. When the pizzas finally arrived, they were completely squashed and looked unappetizing. After complaining, a "new" pizza was made that looked even worse. The whole situation was very unpleasant; even the pizza chef was visibly annoyed. In the end, we gave the pizzas away and left the restaurant. Definitely our last visit – we can't recommend this place.

The Napoli-style pizza is a real highlight, super delicious! I find the 0.2l drinks a bit cheeky, and the seating is rather cramped, like in a bistro. Note: Cash only (who wants to pay taxes anyway? 😃). Nevertheless: Absolutely recommended for a really good pizza!

Great restaurant, the pizzas were fresh from the stone oven. Super delicious, just like in Italy. Prices were reasonable. The staff were friendly. Great. Our requests were also fulfilled. I didn't want any sausage on my pizza, and my daughter preferred a little cheese. It worked perfectly, so you can definitely eat vegetarian food. Just say what you want. It worked perfectly.

Seems like they don’t make their own sauce. Prices are good. Give it a try may be you like it. My expectations were high as I have been to many better places.

Extremely unfriendly! I've noticed this before. Today I wanted to order food by phone. The man on the phone was annoyed and hung up after I asked. The food may be okay, but without good service, I won't be going there again. The pizzeria is too proud of itself. But no big deal; there are other good pizzerias.

However, don't dare criticize the chef about the sour Pinot Grigio, which he serves for around €7 a quarter; it's better for your health and the overall impression. Food is generally good (dough quality, amount of toppings, topping quality only limited, see below), but overall really overhyped. Only two stars for the following reasons: - Olive oil for the table is completely rancid (at the last visit the year before last it was already) - out of four pizzas, one of the dough wasn't completely cooked through (i.e. it was still real dough - we haven't said anything about it yet) - Pizza Nino D'Angelo comes with a very generous amount of shaved parmesan. Quite a few of the pieces were rotten. We had half the pizza returned, then explained: that would be normal. We were offered a new pizza, but we declined because we didn't want any more of it. Because nothing came from the team, I asked at the checkout whether we had to pay for this pizza in full. Instead of an apology or troubleshooting, there was short palaver with the pizzaiolos, a long face and rude complaining in Italian. Above all, the feedback was not taken seriously, was not tried, and then pre-sliced ​​cheese from the same container continued to be used. We didn't have to pay for the pizza (because I said something) - but dealing with such a situation in a professional and hospitable manner is different. Unfortunately, Mother's Day dinner was spoiled for us. I'm wondering if it's being considered that with four people we would leave almost €100 (a lot of money for a family) and trust that we could have a nice evening on a special day. Conclusion: I have recommended the pizzeria for years, but I probably wouldn't do that anymore. Definitely no more experiments for us as a family.

We were there yesterday and had high expectations, as the pizzeria is considered a Cologne institution. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food and there are other pizzerias in town that I would definitely prefer. The starters were super tasty, we had Frittatina Neapolitana and the version with mortadella and pistachios. The evening started very well. However, the pizzas, which actually all sounded delicious and unusual on the menu, turned out to be a disappointment. The dough was very good, but the composition of the creations tasted very bland, with little seasoning and a lack of flavor, which was a shame. The waitress also reacted very unfriendly and uncomprehending to our feedback about how the pizza tasted. According to the motto, I'm absolutely not interested in what you two think, there are enough paying customers and that's the only thing that interests us. So unfortunately a negative impression remains and we wouldn't come here again.

I was lucky to find this restaurant open because many in the city are closed for Easter Monday. I had the Maialina pizza. Delicious and the dough was amazing. My server was very attentive, worked with a smile throughout the time I was there, and if you're a tourist, she speaks four languages. Impressive! As a side note, this place was cash only at the time of this post.

The pizzas are excellent; however, service in the outdoor area requires significant improvements. The cocktails are acceptable, although the limoncello was lacking. It is recommended to opt for simpler drinks.

We are used to the classic Italian restaurant that always offers the same things, but here, at Totò e Peppino it's a completely different story. Let's start with the rigorously Neapolitan staff, the uniquely kind waiters, the cleanliness, the fast and impeccable service, the cuisine, the pizza chefs, a perfectly synchronized micro-world. The menu is varied and full of true typical delicacies. Sea zeppoline, macaroni omelettes, courgette flowers stuffed with ricotta, fried calzone with cicoli and ricotta, pizza... with a soft dough and cooked to perfection, as per tradition. The waiting times between one course and another are very fast, the prices are more than honest, especially when compared to the quality of the food. I can't wait to go back. Unfortunately words don't convey the idea....You have to try to understand....

Unfortunately disappointing. I didn't like the pizza and there isn't a particularly good vegetarian/vegan selection either. Also very loud inside and outside and a rather unpleasant smell. Card payment is also not possible. With the exception of one employee, the staff was at least quite friendly. We still won't come back because there are many pizzerias in Cologne with better food, ambience and service.
